Disappointing buffet experience at Schwan Derndorf – definitely not a recommendation! We were at the Schwan in Derndorf on Sunday, April 6th and were actually looking forward to a cozy buffet meal - unfortunately we were completely disappointed. As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the waiter was on his cell phone and there was no sign of activity in the kitchen. And when we saw the buffet, we realized why - there was simply hardly anything there. The offering was extremely meager: a few cold plates, a small selection of cheese of questionable quality and that was almost it. The only things warm were pancakes, eggs and bacon - all empty. And even if something was added briefly, it was immediately gone again because far too little was provided. A sparse sausage platter rounded off the disappointing “offer”. Nothing was replenished regularly and what was there was of no quality whatsoever. Particularly bitter at a price of €18.90 per person - you can expect a lot more, especially fresh and sufficient food. When we arrived there were only three guests, which is not surprising given the situation. As we were walking, the cook came towards us - from the kitchen where she was supposed to be working. That also explains why the buffet was so empty. This was the first and last visit for us. It's sad to see a place run down like this.

Very friendly people there! The food was OK. You have to like the decor rather rustic or not. But it has something of a typical pub. I'd love to come back!

A nice, middle-class restaurant. The food was very tasty. It was very well attended. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly.

Last time it was a total failure. Ordered beer and finally got it after 25 minutes. Announcement the preparation of the food can take time, so far no problem. When the Siegerländerkrüstchen arrived after almost an hour, I was so hungry that I ate the “unidentifiable” thing on the plate. Didn't feel like waiting another hour. Everything was arranged one on top of the other and out of order, making it almost impossible to eat without an accident. Own The plate should have gone back to the kitchen as it was. The slice of bread would have been too good for ducks, an end piece, tiny, hard and dried out like it was from 3 days ago. There was no mushroom sauce to be found except for the two quarter pieces of champions under the schnitzel. Fried egg completely burnt from below. The salad is soaked in the fat from the fried potatoes. The schnitzel was cold. Ordered the second beer during the meal. This came after just 20 minutes, but only because an attentive waiter asked again and organized a beer straight away. There is only one star because of the last circumstance, they tried hard.

Gutes Gasthaus. Schön dass es so etwas noch gibt.

The takeaway food was ready on time, nice and warm and, above all, very tasty! The prices are not exactly low, but the portions are also large. Clear recommendation!

Tennis Club's New Year's Party At first, I thought it might not be fancy and festive enough, but as the evening progressed, I fell more and more in love with this party hut, as it creates a relaxed atmosphere and allows for casual celebrations.

A restaurant with a feel-good factor. Delicious, hearty food, as well as great cakes and waffles. Very friendly staff and fair prices. I always enjoy going there and always leave feeling very satisfied.

Gehobene Gastronomie mit durchlaufendem Thema Senf in sehr schönem kleinen Gastraum an der historischen Monschauer Senfmühle. Am Mittwoch mit vergünstigtem Menu: 45€ für drei sehr gute Gänge, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Sehr freundlicher dünn besetzter Service. Der Küchenchef serviert selbst. Die Getränkekarte kommt vor der Speisrkarte, etwas eigenwillig. Auf unsere Bitte den Wein zusammen mit dem Essen auszuwählen wird aber prompt reagiert. Das Essen ist insgesamt sehr gut, die Tellersprache ist etwas überladen, der Tellerrand wird mir zu sehr genutzt, bei der Vorspeise ("Gemüsegarten") finde ich die Komponenten too much: Rote Beete, Graupen, Wildkräuter-Salat, Ziegenkäse, Orangenchutney, soweit passt es für mich, dann aber noch Feige, Apfel-Sorbet und dies und das, da leidet die Klarheit etwas... Hauptgericht klassisch und sehr gut: Rind mit toller Jus, Pilzen, Kartoffel-Gratin, Wirsing und - natürlich - einer Senf-Kruste. Die Schokoladen-Ravioli im Dessert mit Beeren, Sorbet, Mousse auch sehr stark. Fazit: sehr gutes Restaurant, sehr schöner Abend, Abzüge allenfalls in der B-Note.
