Totally rustic Kölsch pub in the Agnesviertel with a great chef and exceptional dishes and Cologne specialties. The horse sauerbraten is the best I have ever eaten. And the Rievkooche were also super tasty, not soggy or greasy but extremely crispy. A visit is always worth it!

Wir waren die einzigen Gäste. Es war kalt, kaum geheizt und alle Türen standen offen. Nicht wirklich zum Wohlfühlen. Das Essen war mäßig, keine Kräuter, kaum Gewürze. Die Lauchcremesuppen waren okay, das Schweinefilet mittelmäßig. Die Wirsingrouladen waren verkocht, vom Kohl waren nur noch die Blattadern übrig. Die Saucen beider Gerichte dickten beim Abkühlen puddingartig ein. Beiden Gerichten war gemeinsam, dass Sie kaum Geschmack besaßen.

So today we were there again and were really looking forward to finally having a delicious meal there again. Unfortunately we didn't like it that much. There are some changes there that appear to us to be more of a deterioration. It starts with the salad. That used to be a highlight. Just green lettuce with an unrivaled dressing prepared by the grandma of the house. Today mixed lettuce leaves trying to replicate the dressing. Many delicious dishes are missing from the menu. There were very few additional dishes besides the menu. The fried potatoes used to be so delicious and crispy. Today they are thickly sliced ​​and not nearly as tasty anymore. The schnitzels can no longer be compared either. That's such a shame. Somehow the restaurant has lost its charm and specialness for us. The food is ok, the service too but the charm is gone. The cutlet is no longer available, nor is the breaded fillet with banana and curry. Prices are quite high. Unfortunately, Behmenburg is no longer an alternative for us. Uniformity like everywhere else. It almost makes us a little sad!!!

Went there for dinner on New Year's Eve, it was great, very tasty and the portions were just right, the service was also great, always very attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The ambience is just great, old fashioned and very clean. I can really only recommend it .

Simply good! We were at Carls 3 times, 3 times it was very good. Starter, main course and wine list are excellent. Service is super attentive and discreet. The dessert falls off easily.

Es wird auf jeden Fall der erste und letzte Besuch dort sein. Ich war dort mit Freunden um einen Jahresausklang zu geniessen, jedoch mussten Wir feststellen das so manche Vorredner recht hatten. Das Essen war durch die Bank überteuert,Portionsgröße wie in Sternerestaurant, Geschmack war OK aber kein Highlight, und die Preis&Leistung stimmte nicht. Es waren noch 2 andere Tische belegt, und Wir mussten mehr als einmal an die Theke gehen um etwas neues zu bestellen(Getränke).

Absolutely understaffed and incompetent, we sat there for over 30 minutes without even taking an order. Once a waitress came and said she would come straight away when asked. 15 minutes later she said they couldn't take any orders Alright, thanks for wasting time ✌️

A great cozy pub/restaurant. My friends and I like to go there. The kitchen is unique. I have never eaten so well in all of Oberhausen. The friendliness of the operators is the icing on the cake.
