What a shame, it was supposed to be a great evening with good friends. Unfortunately, it didn't start off well and didn't improve as the evening progressed. First, a disabled woman with a disability card was refused parking in front of the restaurant because of alleged VIPs, then the staff weren't very efficient (they blamed it on it being their first day on the job), and finally, you couldn't hear yourself think. The ambiance is nice, but the noise level was unbearable. We decided to leave immediately after dinner; nobody needs a headache.

I was there on November 7th and would have loved to go back immediately. Because of my mobility impairment and my blue parking permit, I figured it would be okay to park as close to the entrance as possible. The parking lot was completely empty! I had reserved a table for five people. A man immediately approached me and said I couldn't park there, that it was all reserved for celebrities. When I showed him my permit, he said, "Never mind." Hmm? Then he said he'd find me a parking space nearby. Well, what choice did I have? But I thought that was pretty ridiculous and concluded that I, as a disabled person, wasn't welcome. Oh, about the celebrities: I have no idea, but I didn't recognize any of them.

Quaint restaurant with friendly service and delicious Swabian cuisine.

Food good. Service attentive. Noisy, echoing premises. Conversations with seven people at a table are a challenge, both in the front and back rooms. Today I sat at a table in the front room next to the bar. The side door next to the bar, leading outside, was constantly being opened and closed every minute, despite the cold outside temperature of +2°C (staff smoking? putting away Christmas decorations, bringing in cleaning supplies, bringing in and out boxes/Euro crates, taking buckets in and out, empty bottles out, full beer crates in, etc.). Or the outside door was simply left open... It was freezing cold inside at the table, on my back, and on my feet. The staff acknowledged my warning about the freezing conditions, but I didn't notice any improvement. They didn't seem to care. There's no draft protection for this door next to the bar.

Well, it's definitely a step backward compared to before the renovation. The new furniture is supposed to be modern (I think), but it looks more like something you'd find at a motorway service station. The Hammerhütte has lost all its charm and is certainly not a place where you can enjoy a nice, cozy lunch or dinner. The fact that it's terribly loud doesn't help either. I've been there three times since the renovation (I'd really like it to be good, so I gave it several chances) and each time the server was incredibly slow. Overall, I also think the prices are too high. At least the restaurants nearby offer similar quality at lower prices. Aside from that (even though I'm not vegan or vegetarian), it's a mystery to me how anyone can create a menu these days that doesn't offer any options for vegetarians or vegans. It's all really disappointing. The next time I give it a try will probably be the beer garden. That'll be a while yet, though.

The dining room has been given a bright and welcoming upgrade through the renovation. The staff is efficient and friendly. The food is good, and the menu offers a wide variety of dishes. Bringing my large dog was no problem, and I couldn't find a comfortable spot for him. There are carpets in some parts of the dining room. Overall, it's a bit noisy, which can make conversation difficult.

We visited the Hammer Hütte and were thrilled. From the moment you arrive, you feel welcome – the staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always creates a pleasant atmosphere. The food is fresh, deliciously prepared, and leaves nothing to be desired. They also serve excellent local water, which is truly second to none. We were particularly pleased that our dog was warmly welcomed and that we were given a perfect spot – that's not a given everywhere. A quick note: When it's very busy, the acoustics can get a bit livelier, which sometimes makes conversation difficult. Apart from that, however, it was a thoroughly positive experience that we can wholeheartedly recommend. We would definitely be happy to come back!

The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We sat in the back area, where the noise level was pleasant. Unfortunately, the front area is very loud.

The food is decent. After the renovation, the staff is still getting used to it (orders took a long time to take). The open-plan layout makes normal conversation quite difficult when the restaurant is full.

Waited a long time for the food and it was very loud

My husband and a group went there for dinner yesterday. It was disastrous: the food was mediocre, and we had to wait two hours for it. It was almost impossible to have a conversation because it was far too loud, and the only seating was a beer table. The staff was irritated. Absolutely not recommended.

We were here with 12 people. The service was excellent. Friendly, courteous, and always on the ball. The ambiance is modern, clean, and there's a cozy beer atmosphere. The food was good (schnitzel, etc.), but the following other dishes were extremely bad! We waited 1.5 hours for our food after ordering! In our opinion, that was far too long. Even after the food arrived, various side dishes like salad, ketchup, and mayonnaise were still missing. Furthermore, the braised onions we ordered were "ice cold." We asked for compensation and received a shot of schnapps for everyone. Conclusion: It's worth a visit, but there are better places to eat.

I decided relatively spontaneously to go back to the Hammerhütte after it reopened. My first impression was that it was very loud and uninviting. The food arrived after more than an hour, but it was really packed. Every table was taken. However, the food was very simple and overpriced. It's a shame, because the staff tried really hard, but at times seemed overwhelmed. I criticized the food, but it didn't seem to matter. The staff member simply contradicted me, and that was it. That was it for me, too!

After the renovation, I've been to the Hammerhütte twice. The interiors have a nice, modern design. However, there's a bit of an echo, and it gets quite loud when there are a lot of people in the dining room. The selection of dishes and drinks is perfectly adequate. The service is friendly, but it takes a while for someone to come to the table or to indicate that you'd like to order something. Drinks came quickly, but the food took a while. Even though it took a while, the dishes arrived warm and were delicious. The prices are a bit high for the food, in my opinion. There's room for improvement.

After the renovation and refurbishment, you'll be greeted by an authentic ambiance. Beautiful, pleasant, and unfussy. The food is impeccable, and the service will improve—all good in the end!

I visited with a friend on Monday evening. We received a friendly welcome and had a very comfortable seating. I highly recommend the lemonades :) We both had a tarte flambée (classic and goat/fig) that was delicious!😋 We'd love to come back!

We were at the Hammerhütte on Saturday evening. The restaurant was very busy, but the food still arrived promptly. We had a crusty sandwich and a salad with Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli). Both were delicious. I don't understand how some people can complain; the portions are really generous, and everything tastes fresh. Other restaurants usually offer less. Some people should just cook at home if they always have something to criticize. The Hammerhütte has just opened; everything still needs to settle in, so I don't think this criticism is fair. We were very satisfied; thank you for a wonderful evening.

We waited 1.5 hours for the food, and if we hadn't asked, it probably would have taken even longer! The noise level was extremely loud. Then they set up furniture next to us... You should do that when the place is closed!!!

Finally open again – and we're thrilled! 🙌 The team at the Hammerhütte was super friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was truly lovely. ❤️ There was still a bit of noise – something they're probably still working on, but it didn't spoil the great evening at all. Salad as usual in the Siegerland region, in a simple version, otherwise quite good and of course, like all the other salads these days, expensive.

Ordering food took an incredibly long time; we had to remind them for the bread basket (3 small slices of bread with dips for €6.50). The chairs were incredibly uncomfortable and hard; there were no cushions. Far too loud; no plants, partitions, or anything to dampen the noise was used, so you could barely hear each other at your own table. The food was okay, the vegetarian selection was tiny—maybe okay with a smaller menu, but everything seemed a bit cheaply made: lots of carrots in the salad, only large, "cheap" tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes. The fried onions in the salad were barely noticeable, but it was still delicious. Service was stressed and not yet on the ball, which was also due to the extreme understaffing.

The food was ok, but for a small salad (the size of a side salad) almost 19€ is a bit too much to ask for.

The Hammerhütte is back. Still with a reduced menu, but the signature dishes are still there and delicious. We received a friendly welcome, and the food arrived very quickly.

An evening you'll want to and must quickly forget. Service was cold, there were no friendly smiles, and it wasn't very approachable. A large hall, the volume was at 10, with a huge echo from the chatter and noises of all the guests. The food wasn't good, the salad wasn't fresh, as if it had been sitting in the dressing for hours. Too mushy and soft. The schnitzel was too small, sometimes dry. The pepper sauce was too spicy, and the plates were too small. Not a pleasant sight. The prices were also exorbitant. At first, we were happy that the Hammerhütte had reopened. But under these circumstances, we won't be going back.

Actually, it's a nice beer garden. But it's a shame that on a Saturday evening in summer, at 8:15 p.m., you're greeted with the words that you can't order anything to go with your meal, only drinks. On a Saturday evening. ------- I was there again on Saturday, September 20, 2025. But the pilsner, which was brought to the table after a while, looked really sad. The service could have been a bit more attentive.

It was closed, and we were there. According to the opening hours, they were open. What we didn't know was that they were apparently renovating. We were rudely kicked out, and in an unfriendly manner. I didn't like that.

We've been regular customers at the Hammerhütte since we moved to Siegen, which was more than 15 years ago. We were always very satisfied with the Hammerhütte (ambience, food, team). Yesterday, we wanted to spend a pleasant evening in the new Hammerhütte. However, we were more than disappointed. The once beautiful wall decorations have been replaced by white walls with cold tools. Overall, the decor is very sober and cold. More like a waiting room than a place where you want to linger. However, we didn't want to oppose the newness and sat down at our assigned seats anyway. After 20 minutes, we were brought the menu and asked what we would like to drink. After perusing the menus, we realized that the dishes listed seemed unimaginative and overpriced. For my companion, who is gluten and lactose intolerant, there was no option other than salad. When the waitress came back after a long wait, we were asked if we had found anything. We said, "No, unfortunately." The waitress made no attempt to ask us why not, but literally replied, "No problem." We weren't asked why not or whether we didn't want to eat – no, afterward, their backs were turned to us without comment and the next table was attended to. The staff simply didn't care whether we wanted food or not, or even wanted anything. The problem of why we couldn't find anything was presented as irrelevant. When our drinks arrived, we paid €15 for two Aperols. One Aperol had far too much ice and a lemon in it. We paid and then left. At the next table, we overheard an elderly couple asking the waitress if they had been forgotten. But here, too, the waitress simply walked past the table and simply said "no." These guests also had already finished their glasses and were apparently waiting for their drinks. It should also be noted that the dining room is far too noisy and it's impossible to have a conversation. Furthermore, very loud music is played, which makes conversation even more difficult, or as mentioned, impossible. We were so happy that the Hammerhütte restaurant survived and always enjoyed being guests there. All that remains to say is that as a guest, you don't feel welcome or well looked after, a nice dinner with entertainment is impossible, and the prices are too high for our liking. We'd rather go elsewhere.

Last time was a complete disaster. Ordered a beer and finally got it after 25 minutes. They warned me that the food could take a while to prepare, but that wasn't a problem. When the Siegerländerkrüstchen arrived after almost an hour, I was so hungry that I ate the "unidentifiable" item on my plate. I didn't feel like waiting another hour. Everything was arranged on top of each other and in a disorganized manner, making eating without an accident almost impossible. Actually, the plate should have gone back to the kitchen as it was. The slice of bread would have been too good for the duck; it was one end piece, tiny, rock-hard, and dried out like it had been three days ago. Mushroom sauce was nowhere to be found except for the two-quarter pieces of mushrooms under the schnitzel. The fried egg was completely burnt from the bottom. The salad was soaked in fat from the fried potatoes. The schnitzel was cold. Ordered the second beer during the meal. It arrived after just 20 minutes, but only because an attentive waiter asked again and immediately ordered a beer. It only gets one star because of the last circumstance; they always made an effort.

The food was a disappointment for the price. We had bruschetta as an appetizer, which was actually quite tasty, but it tasted very garlicky. The veggie burger I had was soggy and tasted like it had just been slapped together. The sweet potato fries that came with it had no taste at all. It was simply way too expensive for that... The service was also rather unfriendly and not as friendly as one would have expected. I thought the ambiance was quite nice, but I wouldn't go there again because of the shortcomings.

A top restaurant, especially in summer, when you can sit in the beautiful beer garden under large trees! We spontaneously got a table without a reservation and were served promptly. The service was great and drinks and food came quickly, even though the beer garden was almost full. The food was very good and plentiful. I thought it was nice that the menu was kept clear - but the dishes were freshly prepared! We'll be back👍🏻

We were there on Saturday evening in the best weather to celebrate a birthday. First of all I want to say that the beer garden has a great atmosphere and the food was good. The prices are ok too. The young man who brought us drinks most of the time was extremely accommodating and friendly and regularly asked if we needed anything else. Unfortunately that was all!!! We were in the beer garden at 6 p.m. The beer garden was very well attended. We ate around 7 p.m. One of our group ordered ice cream around 8 p.m. Since it was too early for most people, I asked until when we could order dessert. The answer we received was that this would only last until 8:30 p.m. because there was so much going on. When I asked whether I understood that correctly, since they were open until 1 a.m., I was told this quite quickly. For me, it was an absolute no-go to only get dessert until 8:30 p.m. when the kitchen was open until 10 p.m., because you could order normal food until 10 p.m. None of this was on the menu. When we ordered non-alcoholic Radler at 8:30 p.m., we were told that they had run out of it because so many guests had ordered it. With such a popular drink on hot days, you should expect this and plan accordingly. Two of the group drank Altbierbowle and with each order the strawberries became fewer and fewer. So it wasn't surprising that around 10:15 p.m. there was suddenly no more Altbierbowle because the strawberries were empty. The highlight for me was that at 10:30 p.m. the waitress stood in front of us to take the last round. When I asked again whether they were serious, since they were open until 1 a.m., I was told that they would close earlier depending on the number of guests. I would like to emphasize that the beer garden was still very busy at the time and this information was not on the menu or on the internet. The location was deliberately chosen by our friend because of the long opening hours. We were then "kindly" allowed to stay seated until they had finished cleaning up. Many guests then left, and to us it seemed like being kicked out!!! The billing took place around 11 p.m. All in all, an absolutely great experience for me. I would describe the entire service as super bad based on the things described. The friendliness of the lady who served us from 8 p.m. was relative, she seemed very annoyed and listless. All in all, we could have earned significantly more with our group of 10 people alone if the restrictions described had not been there. It's a shame, because it's a really nice location almost in the middle of the city. The concept definitely needs to be reconsidered here.

We were there today. The vegetarian burger and the steak were very tasty. The staff was very nice, especially our waiter was very accommodating and friendly. Big praise to him. You'll be happy to come back there.

A cozy summer evening with a cold drink outside in the beer garden or inside with a delicious Gargano pizza - a lovely hour near the heart of Siegen. We will be back!

Both the beer garden and the interior are invitingly designed. Compared to other stores, there are usually quite a few waiters actively serving the guests. There's nothing wrong here, but you could save a few costs. Unfortunately, when it comes to food, it feels like the Hammerhütte can no longer keep up with times gone by. The dishes arrive to the guest neatly prepared and still taste ok. However, the price/performance ratio has become significantly worse. Given the quantity, you can actually save yourself the extra plate for a side salad. We have also had a lot of dissatisfaction recently because the portion sizes were very different despite the same orders and some had almost twice as much on their plate as others. But I have hope that things will get better again. Unfortunately, currently no more than 3 out of 5 stars for me.

Nice shady beer garden outside and great ambience inside. Friendly service, the self-made tarte flambée is just as recommended as the baked potato with herb quark, chicken, mushrooms and salad.

An ore source of 0.4 now costs 5.10 euros. That shocked me and was totally out of proportion. (and that in the good old Hammerhütte) In a hut in the mountains at 2500 meters a beer costs 0.5 as an example 5.60 and we are in Siegen and not anywhere else. Raising prices is okay, but this is absolutely disproportionate and more than a shame!

Nice beer garden and a cozy restaurant. Staff friendly and quick. The food was average and the portions were quite small. Beer not really cold either. A lot could be improved but we won't be coming back any time soon. There are much better schnitzels with ice cold beer in Siegen

I went there for dinner with my wife today. The schnitzel was good, tarte flambée and beer were also delicious. However, there is a young male waiter working there who, in our opinion, really needs to work on his friendliness! Apparently such staff have to be employed widely due to staff shortages. My recommendation: change your job if you don't feel like entertaining guests.

Nice classic beer garden, friendly service and delicious beer

This location has a beautiful beer garden and the ambience inside is also very inviting. A friendly beer or a glass of wine in good company is always a good idea. Yes, a tarte flambée also works quite well here. All other dishes still have plenty of room for improvement in terms of freshness and quality. The service is friendly but often very structured.

Unfortunately we were turned away at 10:45 p.m. saying it was closed. If you can afford to close so early, you don't have to complain that the catering industry is doing so badly. We'll look elsewhere soon if you want to have a drink in Siegen after a concert.

The food was very tasty. Unfortunately the service is not that good. We always had long periods where we had nothing to drink. Service staff sits outside and smokes instead of going to the tables and ordering drinks.

Good portions and delicious food

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in Siegen! Despite the close proximity to the main traffic artery in Siegen, you can really sit quietly here. The food is good and the selection of drinks is huge. The service is always friendly and good. We always enjoy coming here and can highly recommend the restaurant!

At 8:45 p.m. no more meat dishes were offered and at 9:50 p.m. we were asked to pay because they were closing. The service was unfriendly, rather annoyed and probably wanted to go home quickly. Not recommended!

I don't know if it was because I was very tired and hungry, but the pinsa romana salmone with smoked salmon, rocket and cherry tomatoes was amazing. Almost better than any pizza. Definitely recommended 👍🏽👍🏽

A really nice beer bar that you rarely find here in Austria. Clean. Nicely furnished.

On Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, the two of us with our dog had dinner there in the evening. Service was impeccable, very friendly and even our dog was greeted with a bowl of water and cuddles. :) Food was world class. As a starter there was the best bruschetta I have ever eaten in a German restaurant. Some Italian restaurants can really learn something here. The main course for me was tender pork medallions with fried potatoes in cream and for my partner a pepper cream schnitzel with fries. Everything was prepared perfectly and the taste was really great. The portions were also quite reasonable. For dessert there were 3 scoops of ice cream with cream. The ice cream was very tasty, and I would have liked the cream if it had been homemade. :) The ambience is also very harmonious, but due to the tables being so close together there is a little bit of space when sitting, at least at the table where we were. But these are just small things. Overall it was really great and we will go back at the next opportunity. :)))

Ordered this evening January 22, 2024 Siegerländer Krüstchen and a pepper cream schnitzel with fried potatoes and a side salad. Crusts: burnt schnitzel, potato salad from a can, fried potatoes consisted almost entirely of bacon and onions and there were about 10 potato pieces. Fried egg, bread and salad ok. Pepper cream schnitzel also burnt and not enough sauce. The total fried potatoes are the same as for the Krüstchen. We complained about it when cashing in, but the reaction was very manageable. As I just saw, the fried potatoes were charged separately at €2.50 each as a side dish. Now things are starting to get naughty! Drinks not cooled or not cooled at all. €55 badly invested!

waren zur Mittagszeit da und es war nicht viel los. haben ziemlich lange auf 2 Schnitzel gewartet die dann völlig verbrannt und trocken endlich kamen, nach bemängeln der Schnitzel wurden diese anstandslos zurückgenommen und neu gemacht was allerdings auch nur ein bißchen besser gelang wie die davor. Ehrlich gesagt sehr schade . Man sollte schon in der Lage sein ein Schnitzel ordentlich zu würzen und braten. Wir werden nicht Noch einmal kommen

Sehr gut besuchte Gaststätte, dadurch etwas lauter. Essen hat gut geschmeckt. Auffallend freundliches Personal. Parkplätze, da muss man etwas suchen und Glück haben. Empfehlenswert.

Die Hammerhütte ist auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung! Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut, der Service ist freundlich und das Lokal hat eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Man könnte etwas mehr Umsatz machen, wenn die Getränke schneller "nachgefüllt" würden.

Hm, was soll ich sagen? Am Besten wohl das was ich an diesem einzigen Samstagabend in dem ich dort Gast war, erleben durfte. Gute Parksituation, angenehme Atmosphäre. Das Essen (Ein Gulasch mit Spätzle, ich dachte damit kann man nichts falsch machen. Immerhinwar ich noch nie dort) war echt ok. Keine überkandidelte Sterneküche, aber auch kein aufgewärmter Dosenfraß. Also in der Tat wirklich sehr eßbar. Um nicht zu sagen handwerklich gut gemacht. Für zwischendurch wirklich ok. Daher die 3 Sterne. Service war sehr höflich und bemüht. Es ging zwar etwas zu Bruch aber das kann immer mal passieren. Niemand kam zu Schaden, alles in Ordnung. Wir sind alle nur Menschen. Darum 4 Sterne. Wir waren übrigens eine Gruppe von ca. 12 Personen die (fast) alle einzeln bezahlen wollten und ich dachte schon "Oha, das geht nicht gut" Das bei der Abrechnung 1 Gericht dennoch offen war obwohl wir definitiv 3 Mal darauf hingewiesen haben das die beiden amerikanischen Gäste (Vater und Sohn) zusammen zahlen und dies dann auch per Karte, war dann irgendwie klar. Der Servicekraft tat das auch wirklich leid. Eigentlich hätten wir übrigen Gäste sagen müssen : "Tja Junge, Pech gehabt. Es wurde oft genug kommuniziert. Sieh es als Erfahrung an und begleich die Differenz von Deinem Trinkgeld". Haben wir jedoch nicht getan, wir sind ja höflich. Einer aus der Gruppe beglich die Differenz für die Beiden und gut ist. Wie gesagt: kann passieren, ist nicht wild. Aber, und das ist echt das einzige tatsächliche Aber: das die Kundenbindung sich dadurch manifestierte das man auf der sehr reparaturbedürftigen Toilette vom klebrigen Boden festgehalten wird empfand ich nicht wirklich als Gimmick. Keine Ahnung ob das an der Kombination eines falschen Reinigungsmittels und altem Linoleumboden lag. Ehrlich gesagt habe ich nicht direkt darauf geachtet was für ein Boden in der Toilette war, denn ich versuchte "auf dem Pott zu bleiben ohne mitsamt der losen Klobrille während der Sitzung abzurutschen". Darum beim Ambiente nur der 1 Stern. Und Leute, seid einfach ehrlich. Das ist nicht erst seit Kurzem. Und es lag auch nicht an einer neuen oder vielleicht seit kurzem nicht mehr anwesenden Reinigungskraft. Der Rest des Restaurants war nämlich SEHR sauber und gepflegt. Es lag auch nicht am üblichen "auf Herrentoiletten ist es immer dreckig (das gehört dazu)" Auf der Damentoilette sah es wohl ähnlich aus. Diese Information habe ich jedoch nicht aus erster Hand.

Das beste Pfefferschnitzel überhaupt, alles schnell serviert und der Biergarten ist einer der schönsten Plätze in Siegen. Unbedingt empfehlenswert!

Tolles Ambiente, sehr leckeres Essen und ein super nettes, aufmerksames Team. Wir waren zwar das erste Mal dort aber definitiv nicht das letzte Mal. Haben draußen im Biergarten gesessen, es war klasse

Hier kann man zu guten Preisen sehr gut essen. Die Bratkartoffeln sind dabei hervorzuheben.

Leckeres Schnitzel zu angemessenen Preisen und sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Toilette ebenfalls sauber. Komme gerne wieder.

Ich habe heute noch mal nach langer Zeit ein Siegerländer Krüstchen gegessen und was soll ich sagen, es hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Genau so soll ein Krüstchen sein. 👍🏻

Tolles Ambiente, ruhige Lage. Mann kann viel möchten. Minigolf, Tretboot fahren.

Leider kann ich hier keine gute Bewertung fürs Essen abgeben. Die Qualität war zwar gut, aber die Portionen absolut zu klein. Ich würde sogar sagen, es ist eine Unverschämtheit. Wenn man den Teller vorgesetzt bekommt, glaubt man seinen Augen kaum. Bin schon viele Jahre Gast in der Hammerhütte gewesen, aber jetzt werde ich dort erst mal nicht mehr hingehen.

Eine der klassischen Adressen in Siegen. Biergarten immer wieder besonders schön. Essen vielfältig, reichhaltig und von gleichbleibend hoher Qualität. Mitarbeiter durchweg bemüht und freundlich. Ganzjährige Empfehlung in Siegens Zentrum!

Schnell, gutes Essen, angemessene Preise

Das Essen war sehr gut, kam auch sehr schnell an den Tisch. Die Kellner*innen waren super freundlich und im Außenbereich hat man sich wohl gefühlt.
