We were there on Christmas Day with 20 people. We booked our table at 12 p.m. The first drinks arrived at 12:45 p.m. That was a long time ago. The food order would also be taken around this time. A second drink order was just possible. We then ate at 1:45 p.m. The food itself was good. But the portions are so big that you can't manage it. It's a shame if half of it ends up in the trash. Smaller portions and a little cheaper would also be good.

I only rate the restaurant: a young team, service-conscious and customer-oriented! The traditional dishes are skilfully implemented in a tasty manner and served attractively. Exemplary Frankfurt cuisine that is fun and tastes good. Simply recommended with a good price/performance ratio.

We were there with a large group. And ate and drank there. If it was worth more than €1100, I would have liked a round of max 10 drinks of medlar or something similar as a thank you. Unfortunately the staff was crying about their tips. I thought that was a shame. The food and the evening were really nice.

Delicious food, friendly service. The place has a pleasant atmosphere, with a large open area in the middle.

The menu offers Croatian specialties as well as typical German dishes. The setting is magnificent and the welcome warm.

Salad is served before the meal. I ate it after eating a salad and it was delicious overall. The paprika sauce was slightly spicy so I was able to eat it without getting sick of it. You can think of Jagerschnitzel as mushroom cream and it's still delicious. I don't remember one menu item, but it had mushrooms and cheese without fries, so it was reasonably salty and delicious even without sauce. The currywurst had a really delicious sauce and the sausage had a good flavor.

We drove from Buchholz to Gießen 5 days ago for our friend Hermann's 70th birthday. It was a nice celebration, the food was great, the service was very friendly and super nice

Very nice restaurant with a varied menu. Every meal comes with a greeting from the kitchen. Since there are no direct parking spaces, we recommend parking in one of the underground car parks in the city center. About 5 minutes walk away.

The food is delicious, still inexpensive, the selection is limited. The service is warm, if we reserve a day in advance, we can always find space. Quiet, cozy atmosphere.

Typical old German pub, good food

After I found myself lost, only the Gasthof zur Pfeif was open, so my colleague and I entered the Gasthof. There we were approached by a friendly waitress and we were taken care of straight away. My schnitzel was good and the fried potatoes tasted good too. Overall, I would recommend the inn and visit again.

Actually very tasty dishes, the fries could use a little more seasoning. We had dinner with a large group last Wednesday and were able to enjoy the excellent outdoor area. We are happy to recommend and would be happy to come back.

Disappointment...unfriendly attention

Price performance is not right. Portions very small, but tasted very good. Service not that great. Everything took a very long time even though only the small beer garden was occupied. We're not coming anymore
