Bad service. Don't respect reservations anf have zero manners. Highly not recommended to tourists.

For me one of the best apple wine restaurants. Cozy interior, beautiful guest garden in summer. Very professional operations. The drinks in addition to the cider such as beer and wine were also very well maintained. Excellent food quality at fair prices. Cheers!

Ma can eat really well there, Frankfurter Schnitzel with fried potatoes is always good, the best in the area according to my taste. The service always has something to talk about and is in a good mood and takes time for young and old. Price performance is great, I would pay more for the schnitzel, but we still have to talk about the price above the water 😋

Quaint restaurant on Affentorplatz in the backyard At first we didn't want to walk through the courtyard in the "Klaanen Sachsehäuser" in the dark on Rose Monday because it seemed uninviting and empty. The well-filled guest room turned out to be a rustic and cozy, traditional inn. We liked it very much, we were warmly welcomed and looked after. We had a hard time deciding on the extensive menu, but as "tourists" we had to order "Handkäs mit Musik" and a dish with "Frankfurter Grüner Sauce". Don’t forget the medlar at the end. The price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. If it hadn't been our last evening, we would certainly have come back again. This will be done on the next visit to Frankfurt.

We (6 ppl, including visitors from France) visited the beautiful garden on a mild day in February. Although we were very excited to visit the iconic place to try the famous apple wine, our excitement was very quickly turned down. In the restaurant , we were informed that they won’t serve in the yard today in a very rude and condescending way. You could feel the tension between the colleagues in the air. Nonetheless, we were happy to get it ourselves. Just to see a few minutes later, several waiters and waitresses going to smoke. We counted five in total. Finally, as the night falls, the waitress lit up all the candles distributed on the tables to create a nice ambiance in the yard. Eventually, the waitress arrived at our table to pick up the glasses and said something in a very in polite way. We understood between the lines the restaurant was fully booked and this may have put the staff under pressure, however, we disagree with approaching young customers in adequately. It appears that service is not a thing and business rather optional than the purpose of the restaurant. Very embarrassing for us!

We came here based on the Michelin recommendation and expected great service. Regular guests are greeted with overwhelming hospitality. We stood at the door for a long time and no one felt responsible for us. In most interactions, we also had the feeling that customers were treated very differently depending on their level of acquaintance. It's a shame, the guest shouldn't have to prove themselves, especially if it's a birthday. So my tip: while you're happy with the regular guests, also welcome the new guests with genuine hospitality. They could become the next regular customers :)

Ein Mal - Nie wieder! Gestern Abend (30.12.2024) sind wir (ein Pärchen) zufällig am Klaane vorbeigelaufen. Aufgrund der guten Rezensionen haben wir uns dazu entscheiden, dort Abend zu essen. Das Restaurant war sehr voll. Die beiden flotten und charmanten Kellner haben uns darum gebeten, ein wenig Geduld zu bewahren. Der nächste freie Tisch würde uns zur Verfügung stehen. Beide machten einen mega Job und hatten den Laden voll im Griff. Bis zu dem Zeitpunkt, als eine sichtlich angetrunkene Dame das Zepter an sich nahm… wohl die Restaurantleitung! Sie äußerte sich sehr Lautstark den wartenden Gästen - und auch uns - gegenüber. Wir sollen hier bitte alle verschwinden, denn es sei sowieso kein Platz mehr frei und wir würden nur im Weg herumstehen. So ziemlich alle haben den Wartebereich verlassen und wir waren uns alle einig, nie wieder das Restaurant zu betreten solange diese Dame sich als Restaurantleitung betiteln darf. Auch die Kellner taten mir leid. Denn selbst die zwei Jungs waren vor ihr und ihrem Geschrei nicht sicher. Wir hätten dem Klaane gerne noch eine Chance gegeben, aber diese Hierarchie befürworten wir nicht.

Very nice and great place. I love the service there, everyone is very friendly. The best part is, sometimes a drag-queen serves, which I think is just fantastic that such a place exists. The food is also great.

We were in a restaurant with friends and luckily we had made a reservation, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get a seat The restaurant is very nicely decorated and we immediately felt at home. Great, original in the tourist district. One of the places we always go to when we are in Frankfurt. A super nice team. It was the first time we were inside because it was winter, and it was almost even cozier. Quick, friendly conversations with the people sitting next to me. Portions were huge, the green sauce was wonderful, the 4 Bembel was enough for 7 glasses and was soon empty. Very fair prices

This place is absolutely stellar and did not disappoint. Reservations are generally required as the place is so busy. We started with the onion soup which is a must-have. I tried the Jagerschnitzel and my partner had the cheese spatzle. Portion sizes were inhumanly large so while expensive you are getting a lot of food.

The place is typically German, frequented mainly by locals (not known so much by tourists). The meat is exceptional, tasty, cooked to perfection. Highly recommended for those who want to savor traditional cuisine. If you go for dinner, arrive by 7pm (La Kitchen closes early)

Absolute impudence to send a group of 12 away on a Saturday evening despite a reservation, on the grounds that they don't cater to stag parties. It was a very quiet, relaxed group, so to be put under general suspicion is the worst thing. Well, another business was happy that evening.

We had reserved a table there as a larger group of 14 people. The day before we even called to see if we were coming. When we got there on time, we were simply thrown out of the store again and in a pretty unfriendly way. Bachelor parties, no matter how drunk or not, are probably not welcome there.... sad and cheeky!!!!!

It is always a pleasure for me and my loved ones to be guests at Klaane Sachsenhäuser. The service is so approachable and warm, the food (especially the changing daily menu) is delicious, the glass is good. Price performance absolutely appropriate. It's like visiting friends. In summer, in the very beautiful inner courtyard, the pretzel boy also comes and you can round off your Sunday lunch with a macaron.

Best schnitzel, bomb team. Unfortunately there is no non-alcoholic cider. But it will definitely come. ;)

We were there with a large group. And ate and drank there. If it was worth more than €1100, I would have liked a round of max 10 drinks of medlar or something similar as a thank you. Unfortunately the staff was crying about their tips. I thought that was a shame. The food and the evening were really nice.

Traditional Frankfurt economy. Beautiful garden in summer, great interior in winter. The service is friendly and typically Frankfurter. the food is a real pleasure. The grilled sting with an excellent beer sauce and a perfectly seasoned sauerkraut. The schnitzels are well breaded and nice and crispy. With the Jägerschnitzel, the spaetzle and the sauce are excellent and everything is homemade. I'll be back

What a typical restaurant in Frankfurt Sachsenhausen, every time we are here we have to have a good time here. That's not difficult, with the friendly service and the very typically prepared, delicious food. Thank you for the very nice evening.

Todo estaba limpio y delicioso. Esta fue una excelente recomendación.

Typical Äppelwoi pub, even when it's busy everything runs smoothly, the food and drink is great. Ambience as expected, rustic but with charm.

The cuisine is outstanding, as is the service (5th generation family-run, which you can tell)! Incredibly beautiful courtyard, tables under the plane tree, and of course the usual noise level in the main room. But there is also a smaller side room that is very suitable for all kinds of celebrations. As an old Sachsehäuser (who lived here for 29 years and has only come by 3 times so far) full marks. We found nothing, absolutely nothing, to complain about here. The next festival I plan will definitely take place here!

Michelin restaurant lives up to its reputation

At the beginning of September this year I had dinner there with 17 seminar participants. We sat in the very cozy courtyard in wonderful weather. The food was very tasty and all participants were enthusiastic. The marinated scoop in particular is a real treat for meat eaters. The service was also very attentive and friendly, which contributed quite positively to the overall atmosphere. Thank you for this successful evening.

If you come with children and visit the restaurant in warm weather, you can sit outside on the summer terrace, and across the street your children can have fun in the playground while you enjoy your vacation ;)

Wir hatten als Gruppe von 32 Personen eines Chores Tische im Klaane Sachsehäuser reserviert. Wir fühlten uns schnell wohl in dieser urigen Umgebung. Der Service war großartig – schlagfertige, aufmerksame Männer, die unsere Bestellungen schnell und absolut fehlerfrei aufnahmen und auch genauso zügig und freundlich servierten. Das Essen wie auch die Getränke waren sehr gut, die gesamte Gruppe war zufrieden. Also eine perfekte Ausgangssituation für einen Chor, sein Wohlgefühl durch Singen auszudrücken… Ein kleiner Gospel, in den nach und nach alle Sängerinnen und Sänger vierstimmig dazukamen, sorgte für Applaus und lächelnde Gesichter bei anderen Gästen – bis zu dem Moment, als die Frau an der Theke (sie sei die Geschäftsführerin) mitten in unseren Gesang folgende Worte sehr laut und sehr zornig durch die Gaststube rief: „Schluss jetzt! Genug jetzt mit dem Singen!“ Eingeschüchtert haben wir zu Ende gesungen, unsere Stimmung war schlagartig abgekühlt. Es war ein wenig wie in der Schule. Mit einer strengen Lehrerin am Pult. Schade.

As a group of 32 people from a choir, we had reserved tables at Klaane Sachsehäuser. We quickly felt at home in this rustic environment. The service was great - quick-witted, attentive men who took our orders quickly and without any errors and served them just as quickly and friendly. The food and drinks were very good, the entire group was satisfied. So a perfect starting point for a choir to express their well-being through singing... A small gospel, in which all the singers gradually joined in four voices, caused applause and smiling faces among other guests - until the moment when the woman at the counter (she was the manager) said the following words in the middle of our singing shouted loudly and very angrily through the dining room: “Stop now! Enough with the singing now!” Intimidated, we finished singing and our mood suddenly cooled down. It was a bit like being at school. With a strict teacher at the desk. Too bad.

It is recommended to make a reservation first and speak German before going, otherwise you will be helpless.

Bro my life flashed before my eyes as I somehow finished the enormous and deceptively delicious schnitzel with green sauce…. So so yum, super funny nice service that is hustling but also super relaxed, food and goddamn soooo good and then it’s super reasonably priced. Was worried I’d go to the “wrong place” in Frankfurt but this place is not wrong, it is yum.

Had nicest dinner in Franfurt here. All the staffs were extra kind. Even though i went alone and don't speak any german they were very attentive. And food was nice, normal price. They also accept card payment. And the ambience inside was great!

Amazing experience! A restaurant nearby that I wanted to go was closed, and I asked a local resident for the best authentic local food around the area. She walked with us all the way to this restaurant and was the best restaurant in Frankfurt! Service was amazing!

Na ja, besser ist seit dem Betreiberwechsel nur der Service geworden. Unser Tisch hatte bei fünf Leutchen drei verschiedene Hauptgerichte. Sowohl Rippchen, Steak und ganz besonders die trockenen Bratwürste konnten nicht überzeugen. Werden dennoch in paar Wochen nochmal reinschauen, vielleicht hatte 'die Küche' ja nur einen echt schlechten Tag.

I can absolutely understand if you don't want to have bachelor parties in the restaurant, but I've never been turned away so rudely. Absolutely disrespectful and unfriendly staff.

There is good food there at decent prices! You can sit there in a pleasant environment. It ended up being pretty stressful! I ordered dessert It took about 30 minutes and unfortunately we had to leave when he came. I couldn't enjoy the dessert and had to wolf it down hastily!

We stopped here with our group of friends after a visit to the Timeride. We received a very friendly welcome, changing tables twice (once to relieve the load on the neighboring table) was no problem at all. The staff were friendly, almost friendly, and very attentive throughout the evening. The separate invoice (for whatever reason) is no problem. And the food - great. Only the pollack was a bit too dry, but the taste was also very good (hence, unfortunately, a star deduction). In short, we had a great evening, felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back.

As a long-established Frankfurt boy, I have to say that Klaane has really come into its own since the new owner/tenant changed. The food is good across the board. The staff, with perhaps one exception (several visits), is quick, kind and attentive. Back to dinner. If you compare all the apple wine restaurants next door and nearby, the Klaanesachsehäuser is number 1 for me!!

Delicious and hearty cuisine. The staff seemed a bit rough at times, but authentic and down to earth. The location was very nice and the outdoor area invites you to linger. Price and performance were also right. Definitely a place you can visit.

The waitresses are extremely rude (for example, they take your cell phone out of your hand). Although it was clarified in advance through a call that individual bills with cards starting at €15 are possible, the waiters refuse to do this and expect the group to pay in full. The waiters almost start a fight with the customers. You are told that students are not welcome.

Traditional restaurant with Frankfurt Sachsenhausen flair. We were there on Father's Day and ate and drank very well. You can't go wrong with Frankfurter Schnitzel and Handkäs with music! Two large, delicious schnitzels, fried potatoes could perhaps be a little more in proportion, the green sauce is very tasty. Service was sometimes very friendly and sometimes a bit abrupt. The only strange thing was the shift change and the fact that we had to pay before we were actually ready.

A great traditional restaurant! Customers can feel a piece of old Frankfurt there (also because of the inspiring ambience). The food is simply excellent and you can discover various Hessian dishes that are not particularly well known internationally. The staff is very friendly and works very effectively, even when the restaurant is full (the waiters occasionally collect 5 plates, what an achievement!) and the boss is very personable. The price isn't exactly cheap, but you get top quality. A must, especially for tourists or visitors to Frankfurt.

Great place for traditional German food. Nice atmosphere, full of locals. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful (we speak very little / no German so they helped us out a lot). Food was great. I would recommend the pork cheek in red wine sauce; delicious. Beer and wine was also very good.

Thank you for a perfect evening in the authentic apple wine restaurant “Klaane Sachsenhäuser”. Since we were there a little earlier (reservations are mandatory here), we first made ourselves comfortable outside and enjoyed our first Bembel cider. The service was incredibly friendly, quick and in a good mood. Inside it is quaint and cozy. Our Frankfurter Schnitzel with green sauce was perfect and the sirloin steak was fried and seasoned to perfection (medium). You should definitely stop here.

Scaufelchen was spicy and amazing. Just came in for a beer but glad we stayed. Authentic and great local food and beverage.

The two of us were there on a Sunday. The great ambience and the friendly service were immediately noticeable. It's a cozy place to stay. We had a schnitzel gratinated with cheese and a grilled rib. The schnitzel tasted very good. A good restaurant schnitzel for a long time. The rib, however, was a bit too fatty. Salad and side dishes were also delicious. The dark beer also tasted good. All in all a great stay.

Be careful, you will be yelled at if you simply take napkins from the table. The first and last time I was here...
