We've never had such a delicious, hospitable, or wonderful meal in Frankfurt before. Simply fantastic!

The food is good, the decor appropriately old and in keeping with the building. A pub like in the old days.

We went to the beer garden with the family for lunch. We sat beautifully under the chestnut trees. We had schnitzel with green sauce and fried fish with remoulade sauce. Very large portions. Friendly service. We were very satisfied.

I visited the restaurant for the first time today. I'll start with the ambiance. We were inside. It was very rustic and quaint. It perfectly matches the menu. Outside, there's a lovely beer garden, which offers lovely shady spots in the summer. Five stars. The service was down-to-earth and honest, and they wore their hearts on their sleeves. Very personable. Five stars. Now for the food, they had paprika schnitzel—you can't really call it gypsy schnitzel anymore. It was really good, and I'm very critical of that. Unusually spicy, but really good and at a reasonable price. Overall, I highly recommend the restaurant. Many thanks to the team.

Unfortunately, we had a lot of bad luck today. We were invited, and the host had made a reservation. Unfortunately, the table was in a draft, so we wanted to change, even though there were plenty of alternatives! The waiter (who was apparently the boss) didn't like that at all and assigned us another table. But I had to put two more chairs in place, and they fell over because the waiter was pretty annoyed. They immediately started complaining that we shouldn't drop the menu on the table (the underside of the menu was a wooden board). They just stuck it on us. Absolutely no understanding. We then went to another restaurant. Our host was a regular there and won't be going there again.

Great food, good portions, too bad you had to order salad separately.

To be clear, this is a restaurant review not a hotel review. The menu isn't the longest, because they do what they do very well. It's mostly excellent quality standard dishes with seasonal specials. In summer the beer garden is lovely to sit in. There is a main street going past that never seems too loud. We don't live very close, but when choosing where to go, and we want European food its a choice between here and trying somewhere else to see if it matches up. We've been going for about 10 years now.

We were looking for a quick lunch and the outdoor terrace was just the ticket. Lovely atmosphere under the shade of the trees. Generous portions, prompt snd cheery service, standard German fare.

It was a bit burdensome to walk to because it was in a quiet place, and I had to drive there, so I couldn't have a beer with it, which was a shame. The turkey meat was a bit disappointing, but the steak melted in my mouth and the salad was delicious and good. Highly recommended. (There were many people who came with their elderly parents)

We eat there often, sometimes with family, and it's always a culinary experience for us. The best schnitzels in the area, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. It makes you feel like you were a kid eating out with grandparents. Highly recommended

A cute little guesthouse. The staff is super friendly and they make everything possible. I had a room with a small bathroom. It was perfectly adequate and nicely furnished. Unfortunately, my room faced the main street. Since I'm very sensitive when it comes to sleeping, I couldn't sleep very well due to the street noise. There was also a small communal kitchen that I could have used. The food was delicious. I would come again!

First time here. Beautiful garden, quaint restaurant. The food looked good too. My dish was fine, and it's all a matter of taste! Since I generally don't use much salt, the meatloaf was a bit too salty for me... as I said, it's a matter of taste! Try a different dish in a relaxed atmosphere :)))

We came unannounced with a group of ten people. The restaurant offers typical home cooking. The prices are absolutely fine. The staff is attentive and the food is super tasty. I can only recommend this restaurant.

It is a very old inn outside of Frankfurt, but it was clean and the food in the beer garden in the evening, as well as the lavish breakfast, and the friendliness of the staff were extremely good. The bus to the airport leaves every half hour from the bus stop 200m away. We would book it again.

Yes, the single room is functionally furnished, everything is clean and well maintained. Breakfast is recommended. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to test the menu there yet. But makes a very good impression.

I was just at the inn for dinner. Home-style cooking in a rustic, pleasant atmosphere. I come here again and again.

We were at the Löwen again today for lunch. The weekly changing lunch menu and the seasonal menu are so varied, we like to come here often. In the summer, we often come with the family in the evenings to enjoy the lovely beer garden! Very friendly, young, dedicated staff. We feel very well looked after by Karlo 👍🏼 Keep it up!

Apparently a new chef. The fries are extremely salty, the onion schnitzel is no longer just served with melted onions, but in a salty instant gravy. Even the once delicious and creamy salad dressing now tastes watery. It's a real shame, but it's no longer worth the trip from Frankfurt.

Today we had dinner at Löwen Sossenheim for the second time. On our first visit we ate goose. The goose was very juicy and tender, the potato dumplings were very good and there was plenty of red cabbage and extra sauce. As a starter there was lamb's lettuce with croutons and a game cream soup with gin. Both were very good choices. Today we ate schnitzel in different variations and a beef roulade. Everything was very delicious. The service is very attentive and friendly. The apple strudel for dessert was the perfect ending. We look forward to seeing you again.

From A to Z: top location. The kitchen is very good, fast and professional. The menu offers seasonal dishes, all other standard dishes at the highest, home-style level. The ambience seems a bit dark, but very cozy. In summer you sit under old trees, right on the street and still relatively quiet. WC/toilet is a bit old, but absolutely clean. My conclusion: a restaurant that I would recommend to best friends. Full marks!👍👍

Amazing meal, best one I've had in Frankfurt yet! You literally cannot go wrong. We had the cordon Bleu, veal schnitzel, Kase spatzle, and a selection of sausages, and it is hard to pick which one we liked best. Even the goat cheese salad was refreshing and full of flavor. Wish I could give them 10 stars!

Delicious food but not exactly cheap either.

Cozy inn with a few rooms. Large private parking lot. Functional, clean room. A bit of street noise, but we slept very well in the comfortable beds. Great breakfast, available from 6:30 a.m. Delicious meals at fair prices. Very suitable before and/or after a flight. Airport parking with shuttle bus is fairly close. The vehicle could also be parked very close to the inn free of charge and the airport could be reached by public bus.

What a great, friendly, young team. We ate there with 6 people on Friday. All dishes came out of the kitchen in no time and tasted excellent. Unfortunately we were only in the area for the weekend, otherwise we would definitely come here more often. Keep doing the same.

I only rate the restaurant: a young team, service-conscious and customer-oriented! The traditional dishes are skilfully implemented in a tasty manner and served attractively. Exemplary Frankfurt cuisine that is fun and tastes good. Simply recommended with a good price/performance ratio.

What a bad pub! Kitchen open until 9:30 p.m. We arrive at 9:25 p.m. We politely ask if we can still eat and the answer is yes. We get the menu and choose something tasty. We order drinks. Shortly afterwards a woman comes and reports that the kitchen is closed. We only had to pay for the drinks. I'll also visit Frankfurt once... Hospitable no.

We like to come to Löwen every now and then to have a glass of wine and a Hessian specialty in the garden when the weather is good at best! Tip: There are a few parking spaces for guests in the yard.

We often spontaneously go out to eat and were mostly always satisfied, because a lot depends on your own taste. Today we were there for lunch, guys, I've never been so dissatisfied, I ordered a salad with fried chanterelles, the food was there in no time and the visuals, Not nice to look at, the hot chanterelles were spread carelessly on the salad and had no salad taste and freshness, no trace. So just mud, It's a shame, we're disappointed.

I booked a single room with breakfast for one night - everything was great, including the food, the people and of course the beer 🍺 Gladly again at any time 🙃

Seit Jahren gehen wir immer wieder gerne zum Löwen, das Essen ist gleich bleibend, gut zu reellen Preisen, im Sommer sitzt man schön im Biergarten, im Winter in der urigen Stube, angenehmes Personal, durch die wechselnden Saison Karten kann man hier ruhig öfter hingehen, eine Bereicherung für Sossenheim

Gasthaus Zum Löwen is a fantastic spot for authentic German cuisine. The food was delicious. The staff was exceptionally friendly and made us feel right at home. Great atmosphere and excellent service—highly recommended!

Today we planned to go out to eat at Löwen with 5 people. Unfortunately, when we arrived in the beer garden there was only one table with 4 chairs left. Unfortunately, without asking, we had to move a chair from the neighboring table, which was not yet occupied, to our table. When the waitress arrived, we were met with such “friendliness” that we decided to leave the restaurant as quickly as possible. Thanks for nothing <3

I ate here a schnitzel with my friend and the food was good but the lady at the reception who is also a bartender was very disrespectful towards us.

June 19, 2024. Only four stars for the location because the parking situation is bad. We didn't have any rooms, so we can only rate the service of the restaurant. Friendly and attentive service, everything happened quickly and tasted great. My favorite is schnitzel with green sauce.

In einer größeren Gruppe wurde Schnitzel vorbestellt. Diese wurden durch verschiedene Zutaten wie Grüne Soße, Zwiebeln und Pilzrahmsoße ergänzt, die in separaten Schüsseln zur Wahl auf den Tisch gestellt wurden. Die Beilagen waren Bratkartoffeln und Pommes gereicht. Die Schnitzel waren sehr gut gebraten, zart und saftig. Die beiden Soßen haben sehr gut geschmeckt und die Zwiebeln waren wunderbar gedünstet. Wahlweise konnte eine Suppe oder ein Salat als Vorspeise gewählt werden die ebenfalls eine gute Qualität hatten.

We've been out to eat several times. Actually always satisfied. But today on Mother's Day we ordered food for collection for over 70 euros and the man on the phone was just completely unfriendly and rude. Since we couldn't find a children's menu, I asked about it. He's totally unfriendly, of course you would. When I ordered I said no salt. The children's menu was almost as expensive as a normal dish and yet was salty. Very annoying. And if we weren't there in half an hour at the latest we wouldn't get anything. When asked when it would be ready he said 15 minutes. How can that work? Well, what can I say. The gyro pan looked like charred shredded meat. All in all, unfortunately very disappointing. I used to love going there. Now I'll look for another restaurant. Because above all, I don't like this unfriendliness at all.

This is an absolutel fantastic restaurant! Meals are delicious. The vibe is relaxed, calm and chill. I definitely will visit here again.

Have been to the lion in Sossenheim several times now. Can only report positively. Service fits. The schnitzels are great. Everyone friendly. Price is also right. Always worth a visit!

Very nice service, more than sufficient portions that also taste good. Plus either Ebbelwoi or a very tasty beer from Franconia. We would be happy to come back.

Very nice hotel/restaurant. The menu is home-style and very well prepared. We enjoyed it very much every evening. The breakfast service actually deserves 6 stars, the lady had remembered all the details from the previous day and had them ready the same way the following day. Unfortunately only 3 stars for the location, our room (very clean and equipped with everything you need) was unfortunately right on the street. It wasn't particularly quiet. Maybe point this out when booking and snag a room in the back. But overall a very nice, rustic shop with real originals in the restaurant and kitchen. We'd love to come back.

My impression is that the food is OK. It's just that the pricing doesn't match the quality of the food. Expensive for normal standard cuisine.

Very clean and rustic restaurant. The food is great. We can recommend the cheese spaetzle and carrot soup with ginger. And there is beer from the Bräustüberl Tegernsee

Beachy, good home-style restaurant. Delicious food at fair prices. The schnitzel and the Gordon Bleu were highly recommended. Nice and fast service. Parking spaces and a beer garden are available. Since we were there in winter it wasn't open. Dogs are welcome. One point deducted for the fact that the bill was incorrect twice. But the “problem” was solved charmingly and honestly.

The food was really very tasty. I have tried all the dishes. Can't be beaten in terms of time. Super nice service and an interesting atmosphere, at least in the front dining area. A revision would be necessary in the back room. The 1.8m high wall paneling from the 60s is quite oppressive. Maybe it would be something completely different if it were shortened to 1.2m and redesigned in color to get more brightness and space for decoration in the room. Otherwise everything was very nicely and lovingly furnished and clean.

Wir waren heute zum Gansessen dort. Es war ein toller Abend. Das Essen (Gans, Knödel, Rotkohl und Maronen) war super lecker und reichlich! Der Kellner, der uns bedient hat, war außerordentlich freundlich und zuvorkommend, auch meinem Kleinkind gegenüber. Ihm wurden Malsachen, Spiele und Eis angeboten. Ein sehr schönes, gemütlich eingerichtetes Restaurant mit angenehmener Atmosphäre.

Hatten Ruhetag. Die Zimmer waren am Anfang kalt. Parkplätze vorhanden. Sind sehr freundlich empfangen worden.

Gemütlicher Gastraum. Nettes Personal. Zu empfehlen. Parken am Haus oder in der Nähe.

Gansessen mit Team! Wir waren insgesamt 19 Leute. Manche wollten die vorbestellte Gans essen, andere wiederum von der Speisekarte bestellen. Es lief alles reibungslos. Wir hatten alle unsere Essen gleichzeitig. Manche hatten noch Vorspeise bestellt. Auch diese war gleichzeitig am Tisch. Alle Speisen waren frisch und sehr lecker. Bei einem Gansteller gab es etwas zu bemängeln, der wurde direkt ausgetauscht ohne Diskussion. Der Service war super. Schnell, kam immer mal vorbei und fragte, ob wir noch was bestellen möchten. Der georderte Nachtisch war auch sehr lecker und auch schnell am Tisch. Das Gansessen bestand aus: Fleisch, Knödeln, leckerem Rotkraut und sehr lecker angerichteten Maronen. Die hausgemachte Limonade war eine Himbeer-Vanille-Limonade und war auch sehr lecker und frisch, nicht zu süß! Rundum ein gelungener Abend in einem extra abgetrennten Raum! Sehr gerne wieder! Der Feldsalat mit den Croutons als Vorspeise, den einige von uns hatten, war auch sehr lecker und frisch. 5 von 5 Sternen *****

Wir waren am 19.10.2023 im Löwen. Meine Frau hatte Geburtstag, tags zuvor unsere Enkelin, und die hatte sich Wild Gulasch gewünscht. Das Essen war insgesamt sehr gut und fand guten Anklang. Die Bedienung war freundlich und bemüht. Die Preise angemessen. Da kommt man gerne wieder.

Il ristorante (al piano terra dell'hotel omonimo) risulta molto valido. E' arredato come un pub, ma vi si può gustare una ottima cucina tedesca. I piatti sono piuttosto robusti. Servizio rapido e cortese. Si parla inglese corrente.

Casa de huéspedes típica alemana. Tenía algunos cursos para mi trabajo en la zona y me apetecía la comida tradicional alemana. No fallaron en cumplir. Cosas amigables, servicio rápido, estacionamiento, ¡realmente fácil y delicioso!
