Wow, a truly quaint, traditional inn with unusual Frankfurt cuisine and various apple wines. Yes, they also have beer. Snowflake-flavored dumplings and potato dumplings filled with liverwurst and sauerkraut. Medlar cider in a glass. So delicious. And imagine this – chocolate pudding for dessert. It's quite busy. So, dear critics with 1 or 2 stars, you might have to wait for a table, or the food might not be microwave-fast. Super friendly service. Exceptionally good value for money. And then there are the stories about Mrs. Rauscher or the medlar cider...

It's a typical Frankfurt spot for "Applewine" (a drink similar to Spanish cider). The cider tasting followed by dinner is highly recommended. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed it. We were there on a Thursday afternoon, so it was practically empty. The atmosphere is very rustic and the food is delicious. The cider was also excellent.

We went on a recommendation and loved it!! The first time we tried it was completely full, but they were kind enough to find us a spot the next day. The staff is incredibly friendly, the cider is delicious, and the food with green sauce is even better. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Frankfurt. Addendum: Since "Marco" stopped serving here, we've been twice and unfortunately won't be back... The service hasn't been nearly as warm and friendly each time, and that really makes a difference in an apple wine tavern! What a shame! ________ For many years, we've been eating at Frau Rauscher's, and although we occasionally (I admit) go elsewhere, we always love coming back here. We've experienced changes in the chef and staff, but what has remained constant is the unique apple wine tavern atmosphere, the delicious food, and the warm hospitality! Speaking of service, we're always happy when Marco is there—such a cool guy, friendly, attentive, and funny! 🤩 He and Steffi really rock the place—thank you both so much! Anyone who appreciates typical Frankfurt food in an authentic setting will find themselves right at home on Klappergasse! We'll definitely be back!

This restaurant is famous for its Apfelwein. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is friendly. There's a statue of a grandmother next to the restaurant, which spurts water every 10 seconds, which is quite amusing.

The best service I've had in a long time in this restaurant – friendly, humorous, quick but not pushy, and special requests were no problem. The food was delicious, nothing to complain about. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Popular with foreign tourists too, and they receive great service.

We had dinner at this good restaurant. The portions were excellent. The atmosphere was a bit sad, but perfectly normal.

Pretty good traditional german food. The port schnitzle was a bit chewy and over done with little flavor in the breading or meat but the green sauce really helped out. The potatoes were solid, good crisp and seasoning. I really liked the beer too. You leave the place smelling like the fryer. Check out the spitting lady statue, i almost got hit.

An excellent typical Frankfurt tavern, it combines both tradition and warmth. The dishes are generous, hearty, and very tasty. The beer is a special highlight. I recommend a peach schnapse from the house. You won't regret it.

I had a family visit from over seast and they did not let us in by only looking at us. Personal was extremely unfriendly and unrespectful. I don't recomendación for any tourists as this give you a bad taste of the city while there are other very nice places to try the food and drink from the region.

My best culinary experience in Frankfurt. A very cozy, clean place with a wide variety of dishes, all freshly prepared by the restaurant itself, and without pre-made or packaged cuts from supermarkets. If you have the opportunity to go, feel free to order the cheese schnitzel, hunter's schnitzel, Viennese schnitzel, or schnitzel with green sauce. One is more spectacular than the other. The portions are large. Everything is prepared to perfection. The price of the dishes is extremely reasonable, which is why it's always, always, packed. You need to book in advance. Unfortunately, the place is small, but it's just the right size to serve its guests very well. The dishes, being freshly prepared, usually take a while to be served, but that leaves time for a good conversation before eating.

Very nice traditional frankfurt bar. Staff very friendly and food was good. Green sauce was top notch. Visited early in the day and it wasn't very busy..they told me it was booked out for the evening. Still wanted to experience an authentic apple wine house and have some local fare....didn't disappoint on both counts

Absolutely delightful place with great food and good prices. Meat was tender and full of taste, tasty potatoes, great place to try out German cuisine. And Apfelwein - absolutely divine! We bought quite some for a take out, because it was that tasty. :)

I went there with my boyfriend while visiting from Canada. We shared a schnitzel plate. It was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend also really enjoyed the apple wine. The service was also very friendly. If I'm back in Germany, I'll definitely go back.

Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. You look forward to the green sauce, but the dish was ultimately served as if it had been prepared several days ago. The service also left much to be desired: I had to take my plate from the waitress myself and place it on the table, and at the end I was asked to declare my plate. This is unsatisfactory in my opinion. The ambiance was also unfortunate: The ventilation was inadequate, and there were no windows, which made the room uncomfortable. Overall, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

We were there today and were absolutely thrilled. The service was exceptionally attentive, the food was perfect (I had the whole Schäuferle), the portions were hearty, and the price was reasonable. The ambiance is inviting, which meant that despite our spontaneous visit, we ended up staying there for almost four hours. I'll definitely be back :)

We were there on different days. We didn't get a seat, even though there were still seats available. It seemed like they didn't have enough staff to serve the existing guests. - Too bad. The cancellations weren't very friendly due to the stress. Our group of five was very disappointed. ...You should just be prepared for this if you want to go there.

Food: Delicious & plentiful. I had the "Frankfurter specialties" with green sauce. Every piece was tasty and juicy. Service: Very, very good! With helpful hints and tips (like how to drink apple wine). Always friendly. The waitress was alone during my visit, but she still had the lunch business fully under control. Atmosphere: Cozy & clean. A bit cluttered for my taste and not clearly structured. The price tags that were constantly strewn about were a nuisance.

I've been going to Frau Rauscher's for what feels like forever; I've brought countless people here or recommended it. Consistently delicious, with generous portions and always friendly service. A good selection of dishes. A quaint atmosphere. Popular with tourists, but unfortunately no longer has an inner courtyard.

Yes, great Frankfurter schnitzel

Never had such a bad "Frankfurter" meal. The schnitzel had a mouthfeel of potato chips, the potatoes were bland, the green sauce was white and tasted more like horseradish... even the side salad was rotten. The ambiance is rustic, but the dark, warm light unfortunately clashes with the 50-inch LED billboard with its continuous advertising. Top-notch service. But that doesn't save it :(

We were here as away fans before an Eintracht game, and we really enjoyed it! Friendly service, delicious handkäs (cheese) and apple wine (my first time, I immediately became a fan) in a quaint setting. We'll be back next season!

The fried potatoes are dry and burnt, the schnitzel is tough and bland, the green sauce is meager and tastes more like it's from a can than freshly prepared. Frau Rauscher seems like a tourist trap to me and is unfortunately not a place I'd recommend if you want something to eat. The drinks are perfectly fine.

A good place in the gastronomic district to try the city's typical dishes. Order the green sauce and the frankfurter, and the sausage is especially good. The apple liqueur is also good. Recommended.

It was an honor for me to dine with Mrs. Rauscher as a Mrs. Rauscher.

In my opinion, this is the best Ebbelwoi restaurant in Frankfurt. Here you still get real food and not convenience foods: real schnitzel, real green sauce, and real fried potatoes. The Ebbelwoi and medlars are top-notch, and the prices are the same as in 2015. The only shame is that there's no outdoor seating in the summer, but that's just because of the limited space.

Atmospheric establishment next to the monument to Frau Rauscher (the spitting grandmother), pleasant staff and people around. Tried the local apple wine. It turned out that there are several types. The locals advised to start with the classic one, it is the least sweet. Interesting taste, fermented apples. Worth a try. Cost 2.5 for 150 g.

Nice place, but you'll need to bring your time or make a reservation. They do have delicious apple wine varieties. The menu offers plenty of choice, perhaps a bit too much. It's a good 12-minute walk from the Eiserner Steg (Eisern Bridge). We'll definitely visit again.

We were there as part of a larger group. The service and ambiance were excellent, but the food was unfortunately very poor. The schnitzel tasted of nothing, the fried potatoes lacked salt, and the green sauce was rather mediocre. The veal schnitzel was unfortunately similar... Furthermore, there's no outdoor seating, which can quickly become very stuffy on hot summer days.

We were really drawn to the atmosphere of the place; it looked like Frau Rauscher's house. Small and cozy, perfect for our first lunch in Frankfurt. We ordered the Gobe Bauernbratwurst and the pork knuckle (schweinshaxe gegrillit), and both were incredible! Highly recommended. Later, we learned that Frau was quite a character. The restaurant is next to the sink where Frau spits water every so often—haha, very funny. Also, try the Apflewein, an apple wine similar to cider, very traditional to the area. The restaurant's wine was delicious, and they sell it in a jug! We went back the next day, and I ordered that typical green sauce with meatloaf. Delicious!

Great authentic-looking pub! Best bank for your buck i found in Frankfurt (best price to wuantity ratio), and will most certainly be coming back in future travels.

Heard about this hidden gem of a place from some locals and it turned out to be the best German food I had in Frankfurt! The service was so nice and the food was amazing and so flavorful compared to all the other dry schnitzel I'd been having in other places. They have a green sauce that goes with it that is to die for and I'm not even someone who likes sauces. Overall I consider this a must hit spot if you're in Frankfurt and wishing to try some good local food. Not to mention the rustic look the establishment has adds to the beauty.

If you want the real, authentic Sachsenhausen Apfelweinwirtschaft experience, Frau Rauscher is a must-visit. It's lively, traditional, and exactly what you hope for. We sat in the cozy courtyard and had the classic Rippchen mit Kraut und Bratkartoffeln. The pork was tender and the potatoes were perfectly crispy. Of course, we washed it all down with some sour, refreshing Apfelwein. A fantastic place with great service!

Frau Rauschers Apfelweinwirtschaft es un restaurante tradicional escondido en el casco antiguo de Sachsenhausen, al sur del Meno y de fácil acceso en transporte público. Tuvimos suerte de conseguir una mesa en una noche de domingo sin reserva. Lamentablemente nos pusieron en una mesa cerca de una puerta abierta. Comimos comidas tradicionales con salsa verde de Frankfurt (tuve un schnitzel y mi esposa tuvo Maultaschen). Muy sabroso y muy auténtico! Para beber tuvimos un Bembel de vino de manzana que también es muy tradicional para Frankfurt. Un Bembel es una jarra; el vino de manzana de Frankfurt es como la sidra británica. Somehow it's nondescript and dark in the room. There is an atmosphere of German cuisine, but it's like you're sitting in a cave. We ran in here to try Apfelwein, I don't know what it should be traditionally like, but it tasted like white wine mixed with apple cider 😁 An acquired taste ) There was only one very busy waiter running around the entire restaurant, bursting with orders

Old restaurant; I don't think the menu has ever been changed. The fried potatoes take some getting used to; they come with the skin on and are fried hard; they weren't to our taste. The staff is friendly and well-organized. It was an experience.
