The prices are disproportionate. The currywurst was good, but the sauce should be reconsidered. It cost almost €15, and a glass of wine was €8.60. I wouldn't even pay that much in downtown Frankfurt. It's not for me; I'd rather go to the Moselle or the Palatinate.

We stopped at the Rheinschänke for lunch during a motorcycle tour. It's simply lovely here. Small, fine dishes, presumably homemade. Everything is uncomplicated. You get your food and drinks, and the dishes are cleared away later. Reasonable prices, clean restrooms, and a wonderful terrace.

Unsalted fries and 70 cents for a tiny dollop of mayonnaise—that won't fill you up. To properly eat that portion of fries, you'd have to order 5-6 portions of mayo on top. If the basics, like the fries, aren't right, you can actually skip the rest.

Great location and view! The food tastes good, but is "sometimes" overpriced. The daily special, however, is good and reasonably priced! Unfortunately, the staff, especially the young woman at the front desk, is unfriendly! I haven't experienced a friendly smile or greeting from any of the service staff during our multiple visits!

A very nice place, but the food is overpriced. The Spundekäs (cheese), sausages, and hamburgers taste good, but there's no reason to charge the same prices as in a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Located right on the Rhine, with a beautiful garden full of weeping willows and that very special atmosphere at sunset… simply magical. A place where you can unwind. The food is truly delicious – fresh and full of flavor. The prices are also absolutely reasonable for the quality you get. The seating fits perfectly with the relaxed atmosphere: rustic benches, a few comfortable beach-style folding chairs – you just miss a backrest if you sit for a while. There's no traditional table service – drinks and food are ordered and paid for directly at the bar. However, the food is brought to your table as soon as it's ready. This fits well with the uncomplicated concept and works smoothly. In conclusion: If you want to spend a relaxing evening by the water, eat well, and enjoy a very special ambiance, this is the place for you. We'll definitely be back!

A pleasant and visually appealing place to linger on the Rhine. The ambiance is appropriate, the drink prices are reasonable, the "regular dish" (dish of the day) is delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly. One star deducted because the other dishes are simply too expensive for what you get and due to the fact that you have to serve yourself. Rheingau and location notwithstanding, for the prices charged (e.g., a slice of cheesecake costs €5.20 or a pretzel costs €2.60), you can expect more than just a good standard.

Almost everything tastes good, but you shouldn't order the currywurst with fries. My wife disappeared to the bathroom for an hour afterward.

The location and atmosphere are great. Drink prices are upper mid-range. The food is tasty, but the burger was once again burnt, and when I asked if I could have a little more sauce for the fries, I was charged an additional €2.90. In my opinion, that has nothing to do with the service! There are other nice places. Not here.

Very nice location right on the Rhine. You can't get any closer to the boats. Relaxed atmosphere, mixed crowd, you get your own drinks, food is brought to you. Fairly simple dishes, but everything is very tasty. A bit more expensive, including the drinks. We don't live far away and love coming back for a beer or some fries (with chili sauce).

Recently, my wife and I went to the Rhein Schänke in Eltville one afternoon. We were treated to excellent and prompt service. Our stay there was truly outstanding – a very pleasant atmosphere, and the restaurant was also very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly return.

I recently came here with my wife to spend a quiet afternoon – unfortunately, we were disappointed. The service was very poor overall. One employee, a nearly bald man with a slight accent, stood out in particular. He was noticeably rude, not only to us but also in his tone toward his colleagues. As a guest, you don't have to listen to that kind of thing. The food was okay, but for the prices charged here, I expect considerably more – both in terms of taste and service. There are plenty of nicer places in the Rheingau where you not only eat well but are also treated kindly. We certainly won't be coming back.

This was our first time here. The food was delicious; we ordered tarte flambée and wine spritzers. The prices are a bit higher than average for wine tasting stands, but you get a wider selection of dishes here, and the atmosphere is really pleasant. We'll definitely be back again.

Price-performance ratio is right

The ambiance is very nice, with a direct view of the Rhine. The concert, with self-ordering and delivery service, is good and quick. Both dishes, beef roulade and pork loin with asparagus and potato salad, were delicious. The value for money is absolutely reasonable.

"Either they adjust the food to the prices or the prices to the food." No, I'm not stingy. Yes, I know that food and labor costs are expensive. But at the RheinSchänke, the prices and concept don't match: The ambiance on the Rhine is nice, as are the lounge chairs. The staff are friendly. However: self-service, and then €5.20 for a simple (chocolate or cheese) cake, €8.90 for an Aperol, €10.20 for Spundekäs and a pretzel, €18.70 for a (leaf) salad with chicken... the prices are simply not right. I would describe the food as adequate home cooking; it tastes good—but it's completely out of proportion to the prices.

Beautiful, with a great view of the Rhine, lots of ships, boats, etc. It's never boring here. The food is delicious, there are lounge chairs, and plenty of tables with benches. You can also sit inside.

This place is so cute. The food is delicious and the staff is always nice. I always use my broken and elementary German and they compassionately tolerate it despite how I’m probably butchering the language. There are spots that are facing the river, but the indoor seating is nice too. On some occasions they will have specialty dining menu! The spundekase and pretzel are pricey, but it’s tasty. My husband got the fried chicken strips with coleslaw. The batter was really good— reminded me of fish n’ chip batter. I loved my falafel salat!

Nice seating right on the Rhine. The burgers, fries, and punch were good, and the fish was okay (more of a chip shop vibe, it could have easily been made a bit more appealing). Overall, the menu isn't that exciting, but it's solid, with good Rheingau wine on tap. A convenient ordering, payment, and service system (drinks and food are ordered and paid for at the bar after waiting a few minutes in line; drinks are taken away, and food is brought to you). More of a day-trip spot than a restaurant, but the seating is really nice on the banks of the Rhine. There are plenty of loungers for relaxing and enjoying a wonderful sundowner. All at reasonably reasonable prices. Four stars overall, definitely worth it. If ambiance and a nice glass of wine are more important to you than a sophisticated selection of dishes, you'll definitely feel at home here. So, head over there.

This is my third time here and as a vegetarian I find delicious offers! Starting with the great ambience right on the water through to a delicious baked camembert with coleslaw and cranberries. I think the prices are a bit too expensive for the price-performance ratio of the food, but the location and the friendliness of the staff make up for it.

Hello, I ordered fish and chips for €18. The fries were very tasty. The fish was dry, no fish taste, excessive breading, in short, just bad. Any snack bar would have done it better. There were a few others sitting at our table and they also had the same opinion.

Everyone will find something tasty here, small bistro menu, definitely a nice place in summer. In winter there is little space for indoors. Nevertheless, a lot of effort is put into this, and if I'm not mistaken, the curry sauce, homemade, was very good quality.

Prima, auch im November. Eigentlich kennen wir das Lokal vorallem im warmen Wetter. Wir waren auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant, dass auch Samstag Mittagstisch für eine größere Runde bietet. Das Essen war lecker, der Service freundlich und auch die Weinauswahl war gut.
