It was like having dinner with a close friend...extremely personalised and attentive...each order was freshly prepared and individualised...unreservedly recommend this place if you are in this area.

Wir haben das Rosenstübchen zufällig nach einem Besuch des Klosters Eberbach entdeckt und waren von dem bodenständigen Essen zu fairen Preisen und insbesondere dem sehr liebevollen, zuvorkommenden Service sehr angetan. Der Inhaber bot uns direkt an, dass wir jederzeit mehr Sauce für unseren Krautwickel haben könnten. So etwas erlebt man heute kaum noch. Herzlichen Dank.

Very pleasant. We find the boss more funny than unpleasant. He tells it like it is. Food excellent. Unfortunately, I miss the spring onions and the great potatoes with the beef steak. Now it's standard, just like in every restaurant. The steak itself, always very good.

Already very old, seems to be something for older audiences. The service is a bit slow and the selection and quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. I was there once and that was enough, luckily there are other options to eat.

Very good restaurant in Eltville, pedestrian zone. All the food tastes very good here. The food is affordable. There is a weekly lunch menu. You can eat well in the restaurant and outside.

Traditional restaurants with German cuisine. Good quality, good portions, reasonable prices. The innkeeper is in the mood for fun.

The ambience is great, the price for a Hawaiian toast is totally exorbitant at 14 euros and the schnitzels would be better from the pan than from the deep fryer!

Spoke waitess on entry regarding a table , she was polite & said would check, then a rude man with large belly wearing blue, white & pink horizontal stripes shirt, came up & told us no & leave. Very rude & direct even by German standards. Could see tables available, perhaps they were reserved, but there was no need to be a rude individual ( could describe this better but I would be stooping to this rude person level) obviously doesn’t want customers, a simple no we a fully booked without being rude & motioning me to leave. I am not one to put a bad review on lightly but in this case I have to make an exception. Suggest to avoid. My background is also German.

Great ambience and delicious food. We had a lovely evening with very good wine. Highlight: the tasting of 1972 Aspach.

Very unfriendly innkeeper, treated completely harshly and absolutely unfriendly because an unoccupied table is not free - THAT can be done differently! FRIENDLY is different! COURTESY is different! I will never enter this restaurant again. For me, one star is already too much

Really friendly service, despite the restaurant being full, we received our slices of cake in a timely manner. The cake slices (blueberries and mango cream cake) were really tasty and freshly made. The service and all employees in this store were committed and friendly. We'd love to come back.

The lunch for 8 euros sounds good at first. But you also have to make compromises. The fish seemed to have come from the microwave, you could see that in some unsightly places. The sauce and vegetable rice with it were good The atmosphere in the front part of the restaurant is rustic thanks to the old furnishings. However, I didn't really want to sit in the back room without a window The innkeeper was very grumpy. A little more friendliness towards his guests would be appropriate.

Very tasty schnitzel with delicious, fresh fried potatoes made from jacket potatoes and a very tasty salad. All this for 15.90 euros. Perfect😃

Inconspicuous from the outside, totally quaint inside. Food was super tasty. Price performance is completely okay. Special requests were easily accommodated. The boss/waiter were very friendly. We'd be happy to come back to Eltville again

A restaurant with a great past and a lot of historical background. The service was good and the food was normal.

I actually expected more. It was ok, but nothing more. Salad was barely covered in sauce, meat was ok.

Highly recommended! Especially the schnitzels: "honest", regional pork fried in a pan and NOT deep fried like elsewhere in this place.

All in all, not more than average. But extremely unfriendly. It's okay that you can only pay in cash. But in the guest area you have to at least be friendly

Delicious food, great value for money and nice decor. Unfortunately, one star was deducted because the gentleman who served us was quite unfriendly (snarky comments, visibly annoyed..) which is simply not appropriate for a waiter.

Sat outside when the weather was nice and enjoyed the summer atmosphere. Very friendly service, the drinks and food came quite quickly. Unfortunately, the schnitzel with fried potatoes we ordered didn't convince us. The next time we visit the Rheingau we will visit a different location, there are a lot of them. But you can of course enjoy a cold wine spritzer outdoors (pedestrian zone) when the weather is right.

I can't understand all the good reviews about the food - my wife's schnitzel was dry and came out of the deep fryer. And my spaetzle was swimming in fat. It's a shame - we had hoped for more. Of course we said that too, then the boss came out and unfortunately was very incomprehensible... And then paid €60 for it. We won't go there anymore

Lunch for 8 euros! I haven't seen that in a long time. A schnitzel with homemade potato salad. Simple but tasty and satisfying! When the weather was nice, we were served outside. The few tables were almost all occupied by 12 p.m. There were three of us and we were seated at a table for 6 with 3 nice ladies. The boss acts like a curmudgeon, which he really isn't. You have to understand his jokes, then you can deal with them without any problems! The rustic ambience also fits in with it. Not only recommended for lunchtime!

It's a shame, we expected more based on the good reviews. Rump steak ordered medium was well done, smoked salmon was dry, noodles were soggy. The waitresses were very friendly. The chef must have had a bad day.

The schnitzel was too well done, the side dishes were too fatty and soggy, the spaetzle was older, the salad dressing was tasteless. The only good thing was the wine and the nice service 😊👍 I can't understand the good rating here... What a shame

About a year ago I ate a schnitzel with fried potatoes there. That was really really good. That's why I went back this year and ordered the same thing. But this time it wasn't so good.... Compared to back then, the meat was too dry. Maybe a little long in the pan. The fried potatoes were very good. The salad was a bit too sour for my taste - it would definitely be tastier with a pinch of sugar in the marinade. And 15.80 is a “normal” price these days. Finally, I think it's worth mentioning that my special request to have the drink (classic fl. water) at room temperature was kindly accommodated. I'll be back and then I'll be curious to see whether the dry schnitzel was just an exception this time, because everyone deserves a second chance.

First of all, big praise for the friendly, great service! The home-style food was very tasty and the price was absolutely OK. Even a large hefeweizen for under €5 Great ambience. Old colonial goods store converted. I'm into that kind of thing. All in all, completely satisfied

Very good dishes, reasonable prices, very friendly hosts. Cozy atmosphere. Only the hygiene of the toilets leaves something to be desired. Therefore a small point deduction. Nevertheless, we will definitely come back.

Hello, I can't judge the food. The cheesecake wasn't good, my impression was that it was from a discount store and thawed, okay it was carnival... maybe that's why. In any case, a rustic pub in which many social celebrations have certainly taken place. Must visit!

Seit vielen Jahren mal wieder im Rosenstübchen zu Abende gegessen. Wie immer sehr freundlich von den Besitzern empfangen worden. Das Essen, 1x Winzer-Schnitzel und 1x Rheingau-Schnitzel waren der Hammer. (selten so ein leckeres Schnitzel gegessen). Wir können das Lokal nur wärmstens Empfehlen

Quaint restaurant in the pedestrian zone. The service was a bit impatient, but friendly. There's a cheap daily menu for 8 euros, nothing special, don't expect too much from it. We also ordered the Kassler with kale (overcooked) with boiled potatoes (old). We drank a glass of white wine and a glass of apple cider.

...ist schon etwas anders. Man sitzt in dem alten Kolonialwaren Laden auf Barhockern und wird etwas spröde aber herzlich und nett bedient. Das Essen ist lecker und Mann wird satt. Klare Empfehlung 😃

Haben dort Kuchen gegessen und Kaffee getrunken .Der hintere Bereich wirkte nicht gemütlich, zuviele Tische, alles zu eng. Der fordere Bereich deutlich schöner.

Very nice Cafe. Food was great and the couple that run it both speak a little English. The lady knew that we could not read the menu so when we ordered she made sure we knew what we ordered, was a good thing because my son missed the non-alcoholic part on the Bier he ordered.

Sehr familiär betrieben, der Wirt ist frei Schnauze was wir sehr lieben. Tolle Lage, dadurch leider schnell ausgebucht. Besser mit Reservierung. Im Inneren ist es auch sehr gemütlich und romantisch eingerichtet. Wir saßen draußen in der Sonne, könnten das schöne Wetter genießen. Die Essens- Portionen sind den Preisen entsprechend. Das Essen war sehr gut.

Spontanbesuch im Rosenstübchen in der Fußgängerzone, weil es uns im Café an der befahrenen Straße zu laut und zu stinkig war. "Aperölchen" für z.Z. 5,50 € ist TOP. Außerdem gibt es hier Kellerbier. Der Spuntekäs nach Art des Hauses kommt eigentlich einem Extra-Salat gleich. Sehr lecker, frisch und eine große Portion, von der man satt wird. Die Forelle auf den Punkt gegart und ganz frisch. Freundlicher Service. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sensationell gut. Wir haben Draußen gesessen um das schöne Wetter zu genießen, aber Innen sieht es sehr gemütlich aus. Reservierung ist empfehlenswert, weil wenige Plätze vorhanden sind. Wir werden öfter einkehren.

Wir haben das Putensteak mit Nudeln und brauner Soße probiert. Das Putensteak und die Nudeln waren in Ordnung, allerdings schien die Soße eher nach Maggi-Brühe zu schmecken. Die Bedienung betonte jedoch, dass alles selbst zubereitet wird. Der Nachtisch war ebenfalls ok.

Essen sehr lecker, Service klasse und der Humor des Chefs war unglaublich unterhaltsam, da er auch direkt zu unseren passte. Beim nächsten Mal bin ich definitiv wieder da ❤️. Danke für den schönen Abend

Das Lokal ist angenehm und kuschelig und hat mit seiner unauffälligen Deko einen gewissen Charme. Die frischen Zutaten machten sich besonders im Salat bemerkbar, insgesamt waren die Gerichte sehr lecker und das Stübchen damit empfehlenswert.

Wenn man gerne Fisch ist sollte man ihn selbst entgraeten können

Sehr gutes Essen mit großen Portionen in angenehmer Atmosphäre und exzellentem Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis

Ich hatte nur die Linsensuppe, ein Riesentopf und lecker für fünf Euro, dazu einen Halbtrockenen Riesling aus Erbach. Das Lokal hat durchgehend auf, den Mittagstisch gibt es bis 15:00 Uhr für nur acht Euro, daher sitzen hier mittags auch viele Einheimische und genießen die gute Hausmannskost. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Schöne lockere Atmosphäre, gutes Essen, prima Service

Um nur etwas zu trinken ist man hier nicht gerne gesehen. Dann eben woanders 😀
