We visited as a couple for the first time this summer on May 1st. The reception was friendly, the service was very attentive - praise for that. Unfortunately, the prices and quality didn't quite convince us: two large apple spritzers (outside they only have large ones) cost a total of 9.60 euros - we found that to be too expensive. The food was mixed: the sliced ​​turkey was okay, but the fried potatoes seemed rather limited and a bit greasy. The side salad was bland and disappointing. In total we paid 48.60 euros and rounded it up to 50 euros. We were here more often last summer, but with this price and the quality of the cuisine, we won't be coming back.

The service doesn't deserve any stars. When we asked for a seat, we were practically shouted at with the words "Back there!" – after a good 10 minutes, we still hadn't been noticed, while the tables to our right and left were served – equally rudely. It was worth a try. Never again.

Good restaurant for quick lunch

Avoid if you can. Service was terrible- worst I’ve had in DE. Ordered with one waiter who said I could order a small portion which I received. Had another waiter who never even served me demand I pay him before his shift was up. You must spend €25 to use a card which my bill was under so I had to pay cash. This was not stated anywhere and seemed like a scam. I saw he charged me for the full portion on the bill. When I questioned he told me the small was only for children which is what I received. He was belligerent and demanding arguing with me. I decided it wasn’t worth my time to keep speaking with this obviously small man and paid double for what I received and left. He then went to other tables to demand payment by cash for his shift. So sad to watch this kind of behavior as it just makes an otherwise decent experience (good bier, nice atmosphere) be ruined. Food was average.

The two of us recently visited a restaurant in Frankfurt and both ordered a schnitzel dish – unfortunately, the overall impression was rather disappointing. The veal schnitzel was served with fried potatoes and cranberries. The fried potatoes were mostly lukewarm and very bland. The cranberries, which were served in a small pot, were barely enough for two bites of schnitzel and one or two forks of potatoes – much more would have been appreciated. The schnitzel itself was also unconvincing in terms of flavor and seemed rather carelessly prepared overall. The second dish, a creamed schnitzel with spaetzle, unfortunately arrived without any visible sauce. The schnitzel was already soggy due to the sauce that had apparently been placed underneath the meat, which significantly diminished its enjoyment. Serving the sauce separately would definitely have been a better choice. Upon request, the waitress quickly brought another ladleful of sauce – that was a positive, even if it shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. The spaetzle weren't hot either and had a rather bland taste. The accompanying wine was unfortunately not served well chilled, which is especially annoying in warmer temperatures – we had to ask for ice. Certainly a minus point for wine connoisseurs. The side salad was also bland and uninspired. The price is still reasonable for Frankfurt standards, but rather marginal considering the quality of the food. Conclusion: Friendly service, but the food leaves a lot of room for improvement – ​​both in terms of taste and presentation. Not a total failure, but unfortunately not a visit we'd repeat.

Excellent place to taste typical Frankfurt food

A rustic restaurant. The food is delicious and served in a down-to-earth manner. The portions are filling. The interior could use a refresh. The owner and his son could be friendlier sometimes. But all in all, good home cooking.

I ate there with my wife on May 13, 2025, around 4 p.m. The food was cold but okay. I informed the waiter. Unfortunately, I started feeling nauseous and vomiting that night. We're both still bedridden.
