Nice spot, ideal for a break. Unfortunately, it's noisy due to ✈️. Delicious Kaiserschmarn and a large portion of cake. Friendly service.

Good food, friendly staff, good value for money, and an exceptional location. I'd gladly return.

After a Sunday stroll in the city forest, this is my absolute favorite place to stop for a bite to eat. They also serve the best Kaiserschmarrn north of the Alps. Lots of love for Goetheruh!

The beer garden is empty, but you're not allowed to sit down for a moment with the ice cream you bought at the kiosk and are chased away.

I received a friendly welcome. A clean and refined destination near the Goethe Tower. The food was tasty, but the prices were on the high side.

Pure rip-off! Simply outrageous! I ordered a Frankfurter schnitzel with sweet potato fries instead of fries. They charged me the regular menu price of €21.90 plus €4.90 for the sweet potato fries. After arguing with the waiter that this wasn't right, since I didn't even have any fries, he simply said, "Well, that's how it's charged." A small surcharge of €1-2 would have been understandable, but then charging me twice is a complete disgrace! Apart from that, the high price for two dry schnitzels and soggy sweet potato fries is absolute extortion. This place is solely concerned with profit—this place is taking advantage of the fact that there is no other restaurant for miles around, and that locals and tourists alike are willing to pay these exorbitant prices. Never again!!!

Substandard service, four people for the outside area. Absolutely no system. They look stupid and carry out each glass individually. Unbelievable.

We went to the appointment of the new Fountain Queen Karin III and she wanted to go out to eat there with 15 people. Unfortunately she was unable to reserve a table in advance, even though she had offered a deposit, and was turned away in a very unfriendly manner. Some people who wanted a drink there also had to wait a long time. When someone finally came to take their order, they were at the coronation ceremony and therefore had no time. They were then asked in a very unfriendly manner to leave the restaurant. That is absolutely not good service and it is disgraceful that even the Fountain Queen was turned away. One gets the impression that the landlord is not dependent on who or how many visitors come. All in all, a very poor impression in terms of friendliness.

We wanted to have some cake after visiting the playground. After ordering, after a 20-minute wait, we were told that they were out of cake. They definitely could have communicated better, but oh well. Since it was already getting late, we decided to order dinner. One item on the menu was Kaiserschmarrn, and we jokingly asked if they still had it... unfortunately, we waited almost 45 minutes for our food. After asking, we were only told that it might take a little longer. So far, so good. Then the food arrived, and the Kaiserschmarrn wasn't there, and the waiter simply said that unfortunately, they weren't left 🤯 After pointing out that we could tell them earlier and that we'd like to speak to the manager, all he said was that he understood our complaint, but that the manager certainly wouldn't come out... You can't really believe you're hearing something like that. Simply disappointing. Bad service, so the boss's fault. It has nothing to do with good gastronomy. The customer is king, and it's being trampled on here. Unfortunately, this was the last time we left our money here.

Trying to sell a Babyccino for €2 is pretty cheeky. That's a maximum of 50ml of frothed milk, and most cafes offer it for free.

Terrible service. Even after pointing out twice that a cappuccino was missing, it wasn't brought. The colleagues told each other it was their turn. New guests arriving at the table were simply ignored. And the quality of the food, even with the high prices, is well below standard. Not recommended, other than the nice seating.

After a long hike, we wanted to fortify ourselves at the Goethe Tower. In Frankfurt, a hand cheese is a must. A salad inspired by Goethe's work with chicken breast strips didn't sound bad either. What came next was simply outrageous. The hand cheese, a small, hard slice, was swimming in a music that didn't rise above a dull minor key. It was served with two quarter slices of cheap mixed bread. At least it was edible. The salad, however? A handful of leaves garnished with five halved cocktail tomatoes and grated carrots that had lost all their freshness on the long journey from the kitchen to our table. Scattered on top were five chicken breast strips, the texture and flavor of which made us suspect that the poor birds had been hunted back in Goethe's day. Or were they just overcooked Dino Chicken Nuggets from the supermarket? The whole thing, dressed in a flavorless liquid, would have cost €17.80. Luckily, the salad was sandy, so after a few crunchy bites, we returned it without paying for it. Neither the chef nor the manager bothered to apologize, leaving it to the visibly uncomfortable young wait staff.

Huge portion! Two pieces of schnitzel, but no vegetables?

Unfortunately, there was only one vegan option, which wasn't available today (hence the star deduction). The service was super friendly and very helpful in finding a solution. The fries and side salad were delicious.

Such a nice place to bring kids or to stop to eat after a hike. The weather was perfect and the fact that the tower and the station is right next to it makes it a great spot. The service was really nice tho you might need to ask several times for something.

The ice cream doesn't taste that good. The stracciatella tastes like marzipan. Chocolate tastes better elsewhere. The cappuccino is great. The rhubarb spritzer is decent. The sugar was sweet.

You're actually asked not to sit at the tables if you order drinks and ice cream at the outside counter. Even though there are free tables. "Cash only" fits in with this, of course. Sorry, not modern and not customer-friendly.

You can drink a coffee. Just don't eat cake. Ready-made batter with tiny pieces of apple. Not recommended at all.

A worse snack bar with better plates. It's a shame about the location. I immediately got sick from the food, which was unsightly and tasted bad. The waiters weren't even interested in customers and even shouted it out loud.

Card payment from € 100.00 is already a special feature

The service was very slow and rude. They don't sell russ so I asked for a hefeweizen, a sprite and a glass to mix my own but they refused to bring me a glass. We were a table of 8 and the meals came out in 2's with a 20 minute wait in-between. But we only got 4 meals

Incredibly long wait times. An hour for a few dishes, some of which were even forgotten. Not nice.

Small cafes near observation points in the forest are the perfect place to relax when you're tired from walking. The warm wooden atmosphere allows you to relax and enjoy coffee and light meals, making it the perfect place to take a break in nature. It's also recommended for chatting with friends while looking at the scenery, or for spending some time alone. It's an especially great place for people who want to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I hope you'll stop by!

After a walk through Frankfurt's city forest, we stopped at Schmidt-Peccolo at the Goethe Tower - and it was the perfect decision! The green sauce was fresh, creamy and wonderfully aromatic - exactly how you want it in Frankfurt. Plus a cold beer and a refreshing shandy – simply wonderful! The ambience is rustic and cozy, with lots of wood and a relaxed atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The proximity to the Goethe Tower and the large playground makes the restaurant particularly family-friendly. A real insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Frankfurt cuisine after an excursion in nature. I'm sorry to give this restaurant a super bad review. Unfortunately I cannot provide any information about a food rating. I plan to reserve a table for a couple if they want. At 6:30 p.m. we received our drinks as reserved. It was only made clear to us that there would be no more food as the restaurant closed at 7 p.m.

I can't recommend this place for eating out. The portions are too small, service was not hospitable, more like an assembly line. Waited an hour and a half for the food. For a coffee or something to snack on, the place is probably okay. However, we were very annoyed and would have preferred not to come back.

Man musste über 35 Minuten in der prallen Sonne warten, um an den Kiosk für eine Apfelsaftschorle zu gelangen! Hier nur Barzahlung, noch nicht mal eine gängige EC/ Maestro Karte wird akzeptiert - und das in 2025! Bin ernsthaft am Überlegen, ob ich nicht mit einem Foodtruck gegenüber alles für 15% günstiger anbiete, inklusive Kartenzahlung!! Schlechter Service, überfordert, kein gutes Konzept!

Absolutely NOT recommended! I waited 40 minutes today to buy an apple juice spritzer at the kiosk!!! Clearly poorly organized, under staffed and no effective staff. In addition, not even EC cards or credit cards are accepted. It would be best if you opened a competing store nearby! Really not good people!

We took a break here during a hike on the Huguenot and Waldensian path. The tower and restaurant were still closed at the beginning of March, many benches, toilet facilities, playground, picnic area. Bus stop next door.

Yes, for families with children ages 2 to 14. There's a beautiful, well-designed playground and the Goethe Tower.

After our walk in the city forest, we wanted to briefly relax at the Goethe Tower and have something to eat and drink. Since the weather was very nice and it was the only location on site, it was crowded, but not unreasonable. Despite at least 3-4 service staff, we had to wait more than 15 minutes before we could place our order (two drinks and fries with sausage), neighboring tables were not cleared quickly and guests knew how to help themselves if they needed cutlery or ketchup/mayo, including taking them from the neighboring table. What can we say: If you want to wait longer than 40/45 minutes for a simple meal, you can go there. But don't you dare ask if it's been forgotten or how long it's taking, unless you're happy to make do with stupid statements. We won't be coming back due to poor service and questionable price/performance ratio... It probably also speaks volumes that guests got up and left because they had to wait an unreasonably long time for simple food and drinks.

The best thing is the location as a public transport-friendly local destination for children with supervision. For me, as an active grandpa from Dietzenbach, the journey means a 12km bike ride through the forest. The inside of the restaurant usually remains empty unless it is raining. The service is friendly, the prices are moderate. The area is spacious in the forest with plenty of space for self-catering birthday parties for young and old - unfortunately also with music. Highlights are the water playground, the long slide and the labyrinth - not to mention the Goethe Tower (closed in winter). It is an ideal meeting place with my preschool grandchildren.

Absolute recommendation! Good price-performance ratio. Simple, down-to-earth but top fresh food. Cake homemade, pieces huge! Good coffee.

Achtung Leute!!! Solltet ihr an einer Glutenunverträglichkeit leiden und euch denken, ich bringe mir meinen Salat (komplett glutenfrei), sowie mein eigenes Besteck mit, so kann ich wenigstens mit der Familie das Mittagessen, zum Geburtstag meines Vaters, gemeinsam essen.......☝🏻nein, nein. Das geht hier gar nicht‼️ Mitgebrachtes Essen ist da überhaupt nicht erlaubt. Auch wenn wir es mehrfach versucht haben zu erklären: unser Sohn leidet an Zöliaki (Glutenunverträglichkeit) in seiner schlimmen Form. Keine mitgebrachten Speisen hieß es. Was sollen wir machen? Wir haben die Tafel hier aufgehoben und haben unsere Feier, sehr gemütlich und einem langen, gemeinsamen Mittagessen mit anschließender Kaffeetafel in einem anderen Lokal fortgesetzt. Da ist dann auch unsere Sohn und sein mitgebrachtes Essen sehr herzlich aufgenommen worden ("...ist doch egal, ob du dein Essen mitbringst, Hauptsache ist doch, daß ihr zusammen sitzt und zusammen essen könnt").

Overwhelmed service and unfortunately also kitchen. Waited over an hour for the food. Then the ordered food could sometimes no longer be served and in the end a meal was even forgotten. We found the food quality in relation to the price to be significantly below average.

Nice, good middle-class restaurant. Had our Christmas party there. The only drawback was the draft from the doors.

Kleines knuffiges Lokal direkt am Goethetum, perfekt als Ausflugsziel bei Spaziergängen durch den Frankfurter Stadtwald. Speisekarte generell kann ich nicht beurteilen, aber der Kaiserschmarren war richtig gut. Und frisch zubereitet, was ja in 90% aller Restaurants, die "Kaiserschmarrn" auf der Speisekarte haben nicht gemacht wird. Dafür 10 von 10 Punkten.

Schade um dieses Kleinod! Wenn man an einem verregneten Samstagnachmittag, an dem nicht viel los war, zu lange warten muss bis man bedient wird, spricht das weder für das Personal noch für den Betreiber. Es waren exakt 3 Tische im Innenraum besetzt, draussen war auch nicht viel los. 2 Leute wurden in Pause geschickt und von 3 Leuten wurden wir beäugt. Selbst als wir um Bestellung baten, wurden wir ignoriert. Nach einer viertel Stunde sind wir unverrichteter Dinge gegangen. Als Gastronomin blutet mir da das Herz, wenn ich solch einen schlechten Service erlebe, und es macht mich regelrecht sauer. Scheinbar geht es der Gastronomie noch nicht schlecht genug, wenn man es sich leisten kann Gäste so zu behandeln.

Visited the beautiful location at the Götheturm for the second time and was not disappointed. After a good meal you can climb the Götheturm strengthened.

The beer garden is very nice. The schnitzel was great, one would have been enough for me. The green sauce was ok. It's a shame there are no fried potatoes with it.

We had to wait almost 30 minutes for anyone to come to our table. After we pointed out to the waiters three times that we would finally like to place an order, someone came after a long time. We ordered, then the waiter suddenly told us that the drinks would take a long time today, at least 20-30 minutes (DRINKS!!!). We couldn't believe this because we had already been waiting for the waiter for almost half an hour and then again Have to wait a long time for the drinks. There were also two small children sitting at our table and then waiting a total of over an hour for drinks and food is completely outrageous. As an excuse, the waiter said that there was “an old, overwhelmed pensioner” at the drinks counter, which was why the waiting time for the drinks was so long. It would have been nice to tell guests this beforehand rather than making them wait so long for nothing! We then left the restaurant.

Worst iced coffee in Germany in a paper cup for €6 - terrible!

We were at the outdoor restaurant. Ate Frankfurter Schnitzel with GRÜNE SOSSE. DELICIOUS!!! Really didn't like the cigarette smoke from the neighboring tables, it ruined the atmosphere. Also didn't like that it was payment by cash. The payment terminal must have been broken for two weeks....

Ambiance is great for parents, you can go to the playground every now and then, unfortunately the food is only "OK"

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal hier und haben einen selten schlechten (unprofessionellen) Service erlebt. Die Bestellungen wurden zwar schnell entgegengenommen, und wir wurden vorgewarnt, dass die Wartezeit bis zu 40 Minuten betragen könnte, da die Küche überlastet wäre. Für unsere Enkel (4 und 7 Jahre alt) hatten wir daher Brezeln bestellt und eigentlich gedacht, dass sie früher ihr Essen bekommen. Wir haben doch nur Brezel bestellt, keine höhere Kochkunst.Nach über 1 Stunde Wartezeit haben wir das Essen schließlich entnervt storniert. Richtig ärgerlich war, dass der junge Kellner (Schüler?)es versäumt hatte, uns auf den eigenen Kiosk hinzuweisen, wo wir die Brezeln sofort bekommen hätten. Es war auch kein Bemühen bei den Kellnern zu erkennen, Eigeninitiative und Servicebereitschaft zu zeigen.

Rarely have we seen such unmotivated and disinterested staff; guests are generally not welcome here. Waiting 10 minutes at the kiosk even though there was nothing going on is rude. Staff prefer to play with their cell phones and ignore customers. The 2nd * is for the ice-cold and delicious beer, staff unfortunately 0* (that was really weak), prices are fair.

Are always very satisfied here. Hankdkäs and beer or Äppler. What more do you want. 👍🏻

The service can be better, tables are not cleared immediately and it takes a while until someone comes to the table. The dishes are fine. Since there is no salad at peak time in the afternoon, someone must have forgotten to shop.

Had weeks ago for June 9th. As a great-grandparent, we ordered a table for 13 people. Thank you very much, Tanja, it worked great. The table was at the back of the restaurant. And, almost only well-off and sportily dressed young couples with well-behaved children, which we were not always used to at excursion destinations. Great, we all felt at home. Price-performance ratio was also right! Despite FuLL HOUSE, the operation worked quite, quite well! Thanks Tanya! D. and D. Zimmermann

Nice place to rest after a walk, hike, bike ride, play etc. The cappuccino was ok; the ice cream was very tasty. Above all, the sun was wonderful. Already eaten here twice. The dish of the day was quite good, but my schnitzel was not a masterpiece.

We always enjoyed coming to the beautiful beer garden at the Goethe Tower. With the new menu since spring 2024, a children's portion of fries now costs €6! The prices are now so overpriced that staying in a beer garden restaurant is no longer fun, unfortunately.

The staff and the food are difficult to cope with. Otherwise very comfortable. Only the fat employee is absolutely cheeky and gets on my nerves every time.

If you visit the Götheturm and are hungry, you can stop here. The portions are generous, the food itself is of medium quality.

Kiosk is highly recommended. A place of peace on the outskirts of Frankfurt in the city forest at the Goethe Tower.

Didn't eat anything but the food looked good

Food is a complete disaster! Long wait! We sat indoors and had a view of the kitchen 🙈 Both kitchen assistants (they definitely weren't chefs) dipped their hands into the ketchup sauce between fries and then put their fingers down 🤮 Disgusting! Then spread the Kaiserscham on the plate (without wearing gloves or washing your hands) so that the ready-made sauce from a tetra pack (brand yes!) can be placed in a small dipping bowl in the middle of the plate! Both tarte flambées we ordered were burnt on the outside and soggy in the middle. Furthermore, they smelled and tasted like burnt metal (very artificial). The kids' fries were way too crispy. The hand cheese, just water in vinegar and onions, was more like a soup 😂 Everything was mixed up, no solid organization. The great thing was that the kitchen helper (of African descent, not meant to be racist) took a hand brush, cleaned something on the floor and then briefly placed the hand brush on the workstation where the normal food was on it🤢 Never again!! !

Wonderful to get such nice refreshment at the Goethe Tower. At the end of opening hours the service was really attentive and quick.

Nice place to stay. Went there, drank mulled wine and ate fries. Unfortunately the tower was closed and won't open again until April. Walking the Goethe Weg from Frankfurt was very nice.

A very cozy, lovingly furnished restaurant with a great range of dishes. The only criticism is that the green sauce was too dry/mushy, but the taste was good. Very nice hosts.

Das war ein sehr schöner, gemütlicher und lecker Besuch. Tolles Ambiente und viel zu sehen war es echt interessant drinnen zu sitzen. Im Biergarten hat man direkt Blick auf den Goetheturm, der von April bis Oktober geöffnet hat. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und bekamen all unsere Wünsche zeitnah gebracht. Alles frisch und lecker....die Portionen schon recht groß. Preis/ Qualität passt hier sehr gut. Parkplätze sind in der Nähe sowie der große Spielplatz. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr kinderunfreundlich - der Kinderwagen sollte (samt schlafenden Kind) draußen bleiben! Service lässt zu wünschen übrig...es dauert ewig bis man bedient wird! Das essen lässt auch zu wünschen übrig.

Also gemütlich ist es da oben. Der Kaiserschmarrn hat auch gut geschmeckt.aber die Auswahl an veganen Gerichten oder vegetarischen Gerichten ist leider schlecht und mangelhaft. Dabei ist das eigentlich einfach. Salat gab es auch keinen weil der irgendwie ausgegangen ist. Wenn man eine große Gruppe hat kann man den ja vorher noch besorgen. Toiletten waren leider nicht ganz sauber.

Hatten uns dort ein Eis gekauft und uns im Außenbereich hingesetzt. Wurden ziemlich unfreundlich aufgefordert zu gehen, da das Eis zum Mitnehmen bestimmt war was wir nicht wussten obwohl ja nicht viel los war. Naja der Ton macht die Musik. Wir gehen da nie wieder hin

Ich war unterwegs zum Goethetum und bis zum Mittag hatte ich natürlich Hunger und unter dem Goehteturm gibst dieses gute Restaurant mit einem großen Biergarten... Habe online schon mal studiert was ich essen möchte und habe mich dann für den Leberkas mit Spiegelei und leckeren Kartoffelsalat entschieden und es war eine gute Entscheidung.. dazu ein kühles Radler und mein Mittagessen war perfekt

I'm astonish to see the negative comments concerning seating policy! The sign on the shop clearly states that purchases made TO GO are TO GO, and seating is for those who order from the menu. How hard can it be to get it? I'm a regular customer since forever and this place is super friendly with delicious food and drink. Best frankfurter schnitzel, best kaiserschmarrn in town. Super cozy advent and christmas setting, offering mulled wine, cakes and barbecue sausages. All in all - if you can read and bring friendly attitude, you will get friendliness back.

Tolle Location mit üppiger Auswahl auf der Speisekarte. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Großer Pluspunkt: ich durfte mit meinem Havaneser-Hund in den Innenbereich des Restaurants.

Wunderbares Ambiente, freundlicher Service. Leider hat mir das Essen nicht so gut geschmeckt, die Grüne Soße hatte die Konsistenz von Kartoffelbrei und hat eher nach Kräuterquark geschmeckt. Aber der Kuchen, den meine Begleitung gegessen hat, soll sehr gut gewesen sein

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Service, den Preisen und der Abwicklung. Die jungen Mitarbeiter haben uns sehr gut beraten und waren sehr freundlich. Bei diesem Wetter war der Antrag auch sehr stark aber gut gemeistert. Wir kommen wieder und hoffen auf eine weitere Wasserschuessel für den Hund.
