Another very enjoyable evening at the Germania. The Frankfurt schnitzel with green sauce was excellent, and the kidneys were said to be just like Mom's.

A great option for typical Frankfurt dishes, just outside of Sachsenhausen's pub district. A bit more expensive than usual, but a really fun location in the backyard of an old building. It's worth it 🖐️

We were unfortunately disappointed. The food had room for improvement in terms of taste. Some people needed to go to the restroom several times afterward. Our group's drinks were interrupted to take the order from the next table. The final bill included items that were not our fault. All in all, a sadly unsatisfactory visit.

I've been coming to Germania at irregular intervals for 40 years. For me, they have the best apple and medlar cheeses. You can sit in the courtyard, but also inside the restaurant. We even used to meet Bernd Hölzenbein there often. When the pretzel boy comes, you'll have something left for later. A hard-boiled cake is always a hit.

I ate some super delicious Königsberger Klopse there, which were very juicy and tender. Highly recommended. Honestly, I've never had better ones.

We always enjoy coming back to the Zur Germania restaurant. We always receive a friendly welcome, which we really appreciate. It's a genuine, old Frankfurt pub steeped in tradition. We particularly like the fact that, in addition to the set menu, they also offer regularly changing dishes. The Äppler (apple wine) is also excellent! Overall: very friendly service and truly good food. Highly recommended!

Oh, the expectations of an Eppelwoi economy in Sachsenhausen shouldn't be set that high anyway. Nevertheless, the service in this restaurant in particular fits easily down below...Sat with eight people at the table with a card. When we asked for another card, we actually got exactly ONE more card - Sachsenhäuser humor :-). The furnishings are typical, slightly bumpy, uncomfortable benches and chairs. In this respect, expectations were fully met. After an hour the dishes were at the table. Charming fun fact: The friendliness of the service was on the same level as our minimal tip. A word about the quality of the food: If you're primarily looking for quantity rather than quality, this is the place for you. So overall not bad...for a cider bar.

We were there for a birthday and everyone was completely satisfied. The mother in the kitchen makes the green sauce, the father stands behind the counter, the son serves. Our own cider, great schnitzel, great, rustic atmosphere. A bit hidden, but definitely worth looking for and visiting!!!

This restaurant is located in a very inconspicuous location but has a long history. The inside of the store has a retro atmosphere and is not flashy, but it is a very relaxing and nice place. If you want to eat German food in Frankfurt, this is a restaurant I recommend. Of course, I would say that if I ever come to Frankfurt, I will definitely go there. Schnitzel is made with just the right amount of salt and is delicious. The accompanying salad is also very refreshing with a hint of vinegar.

Schnitzel with green sauce 10/10😍

So I don't know either. I've been here twice now and was served once by a gentleman in his 50s and once by a younger gentleman. The former is obviously a veteran of the scene and has the best lines you could ask for. Absolutely relaxed and professional. And the younger gentleman seems to be on the right course, after all he was jumped on today by a Spanish guest who had actually already left, completely WITHOUT his involvement. The good woman had probably drunk alcohol for the first time on the evening in question and was already running around upset, but I was really shocked. I'm just talking to the good man and suddenly this woman comes running from the side like a chupacabra. He was also visibly shocked, but masterfully brought the situation under control: several times he defended himself against the wild jumps of the harasser in question and led her outside to her companion. Afterwards, he and his slightly older colleague stayed in a good mood despite the harassment and we had a fantastic evening at Germania!

I tried to post this review before, but it was found to be in violation of some Google maps policy. I’m not sure why. I can prove my dining there with quite some receipts over the past years. So I’m posting it again: I regularly travel to Frankfurt and each time I go to "Zur Germania" at least once. Frankfurter Schnitzel with green sauce, Aepplewoi and Mispelchen are "must haves". You don't get fancy delicacies there, but some of the best German soul foods (and drinks of course).

The restaurant is one of the last rustic apple wine taverns in Sachsenhausen. The positive thing is that the cider comes from a smaller winery in the Odenwald. Yes, in Sachsenhausen you expect a local pint, but the Odenwälder Pint is delicious and far better than the well-known Industrie Plörre. The service is great and friendly, the pan schnitzel is properly made, as it should be, crispy and not overly seasoned. You can hear the murmur of the schnitzel coming from the kitchen in the restaurant The fried potatoes are simple but good. As we know, everything is a question of taste... more or less salt... more or less seasoned... with onion or without... it's difficult to please everyone. There is a slight deduction for the salad, which is fresh but unimaginatively chopped into small pieces and the broth of the liver dumpling soup is a bit too salty. But we're talking about a cider economy here and not a star restaurant. We'll definitely be back.

Quaint atmosphere delicious 😋 Food...

A very authentic apple winery that you can visit just for a pint of Äppelwoi. Cozy courtyard under an old plane tree, rustic interior. The kitchen offers solid dishes; in addition to a menu with classic dishes, there is also always a special menu with current offers. Unfortunately, the Sachsenhausen snow flurry is missing from the map. You can often still find a place here for two people, even if it's very crowded all around. Depending on the staff present in the service department, it may take a little longer, especially if the house is full, but this is easy to cope with in the pleasant atmosphere. Due to its proximity to the local train station, it is easy to reach by public transport.

After a long time, we went to Sachsenhausen for cider again. The whole thing has a bit of nostalgia about it.

Dit restaurant verdient een hogere ranking, daar wil ik mee beginnen. Op deze regenachtige zaterdagavond was er geen plekje te vinden in een van de beter aangeschreven apfelweinrestaurants, reserveren eerder op de dag was niet gelukt. Bij Zur Germania vonden we nog een plekje onder een luifel. En tegen onze verwachting in (gezien de schamele plaats 830 op Tripadvisor) was het eten super goed. Grote porties, niet te vet eten, smaakvolle schnitzels en andere gerechten en een zeer vriendelijke medewerker. En de appelwijn was nog lekkerder dan de avond er voor. De keuze was wel iets minder maar nog ruim genoeg. Helaas geen foto's gemaakt.

This is one for the locals. No English menus. Standard grumpy waiter. Food was nothing special. Pretty dead place compared to the 2 pubs next to it, but they were packed so we have to go to Germania

For my first visit to Sachsenhausen I am very convinced of this pub/restaurant. The apple cider was delicious and I can highly recommend the green sauce! Even with larger groups it is no problem getting seats in the rustic and cozy inner courtyard. Kind regards also to the landlord who introduced us to the world of apple wine very nicely :)

When asparagus season arrives, the best choices are often German restaurants. We chose this restaurant to enjoy asparagus. Food: Firstly, the menu did not offer any asparagus dishes served with meats other than pork (such as chicken or beef). Therefore, I opted for the classic asparagus with potatoes. I don't expect much from a dish that only includes asparagus and potatoes. I also ordered asparagus soup. The soup was average in taste. It could have been served with a slice of bread, which I consider a significant omission. A slice of bread alongside a hot soup would have been a nice touch and would have enhanced our satisfaction. Along with all this, I ordered apple wine, the indispensable drink of Frankfurt. Always a good option. Atmosphere: I found the atmosphere of this restaurant very pleasant. It has a peaceful and calm environment nestled among buildings. I appreciate places that are away from prying eyes. Service: The service was quick, and the staff were friendly. Price-Performance Ratio: Balanced. Overall, our experience was pleasant. It's a restaurant I might choose again, only with the intention of trying other dishes on the menu.

The food was very good, the dishes were generous, we ordered 5 for 7 people and it was perfect. However, it took them more than 45 minutes to serve us, which seemed very tiresome, but maybe it was because we arrived at 3:00 p.m. and it was already a little late. For everything else perfect. Vegan schnitzels are offered on the menu, but cost an additional €3, which would in principle be ok if it were visible on the menu. So you're surprised at the checkout and it feels really dirty. The service was just bad but at least friendly.

I visited the German restaurant, and I have to say it was a big chaos inside. While the food was okay, I've had better German cuisine in Frankfurt at other places.

Uriges Apfelweinlokal zwischen Lokalbahnhof & Südbahnhof. Wir haben zu dritt spontan an einem Samstag Abend einen Platz bekommen. Service war freundlich und hat uns auch schnell bedient. Das Essen war sehr lecker und wurde auch nach nur kurzer Wartezeit serviert. Portionen waren ausreichend groß, Preise teilweise etwas gehobener im Vergleich zu anderen Apfelweinlokalen.

Essen okay, Service katastrophal und Rest durchschnittliche Ebbelwoi-Gaststätte - haben über eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet: Kellner war besoffen und hat Bestellungen absolut versaut.

Ehrliche Frankfurter Küche, süffiger Ebbelwoi, was will man/frau mehr!
