Very friendly staff and food was nice and traditional

Good atmosphere and great staff. I had dumplings with Palatinate liver sausage on sauerkraut, they were almost as good as grandma's, so phenomenal. All attention!

This restaurant is located in a very inconspicuous location but has a long history. The inside of the store has a retro atmosphere and is not flashy, but it is a very relaxing and nice place. If you want to eat German food in Frankfurt, this is a restaurant I recommend. Of course, I would say that if I ever come to Frankfurt, I will definitely go there. Schnitzel is made with just the right amount of salt and is delicious. The accompanying salad is also very refreshing with a hint of vinegar.

The best place to celebrate carnival for 30 years. Small but nice, you grow old together, you only see each other once a year and yet you're still familiar!

Price performance is okay, the food tasted good but it wasn't anything special. I was expecting more from the sour kidneys, but my colleague swears by the kidneys so it's all a matter of taste. The staff is super nice, Apple is good, but the price of the bottle of water should be recalculated... the calculation is completely exaggerated

Schnitzel with green sauce 10/10😍

So I don't know either. I've been here twice now and was served once by a gentleman in his 50s and once by a younger gentleman. The former is obviously a veteran of the scene and has the best lines you could ask for. Absolutely relaxed and professional. And the younger gentleman seems to be on the right course, after all he was jumped on today by a Spanish guest who had actually already left, completely WITHOUT his involvement. The good woman had probably drunk alcohol for the first time on the evening in question and was already running around upset, but I was really shocked. I'm just talking to the good man and suddenly this woman comes running from the side like a chupacabra. He was also visibly shocked, but masterfully brought the situation under control: several times he defended himself against the wild jumps of the harasser in question and led her outside to her companion. Afterwards, he and his slightly older colleague stayed in a good mood despite the harassment and we had a fantastic evening at Germania!

I tried to post this review before, but it was found to be in violation of some Google maps policy. I’m not sure why. I can prove my dining there with quite some receipts over the past years. So I’m posting it again: I regularly travel to Frankfurt and each time I go to "Zur Germania" at least once. Frankfurter Schnitzel with green sauce, Aepplewoi and Mispelchen are "must haves". You don't get fancy delicacies there, but some of the best German soul foods (and drinks of course).

The restaurant is one of the last rustic apple wine taverns in Sachsenhausen. The positive thing is that the cider comes from a smaller winery in the Odenwald. Yes, in Sachsenhausen you expect a local pint, but the Odenwälder Pint is delicious and far better than the well-known Industrie Plörre. The service is great and friendly, the pan schnitzel is properly made, as it should be, crispy and not overly seasoned. You can hear the murmur of the schnitzel coming from the kitchen in the restaurant The fried potatoes are simple but good. As we know, everything is a question of taste... more or less salt... more or less seasoned... with onion or without... it's difficult to please everyone. There is a slight deduction for the salad, which is fresh but unimaginatively chopped into small pieces and the broth of the liver dumpling soup is a bit too salty. But we're talking about a cider economy here and not a star restaurant. We'll definitely be back.

Das Lokal hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten erfreulicherweise nicht verändert - Ambiente und Speisekarte wie immer, bei angemessenen Preisen. Selbst der Apfelwein hat mir geschmeckt, auch wenn ich eigentlich kein Freund davon bin.

Fortunately, the restaurant hasn't changed in the last few decades - the ambience and menu are as always, with reasonable prices. I even enjoyed the apple cider, even though I'm not really a fan of it.

Nice place to chill, hang out and enjoy your Äppelwoi. But everything else has always been very good so far. Everyone was friendly. The waitress and the other guests are good company! I really enjoy going there when I'm in Frankfurt.

Quaint atmosphere delicious 😋 Food...

A very authentic apple winery that you can visit just for a pint of Äppelwoi. Cozy courtyard under an old plane tree, rustic interior. The kitchen offers solid dishes; in addition to a menu with classic dishes, there is also always a special menu with current offers. Unfortunately, the Sachsenhausen snow flurry is missing from the map. You can often still find a place here for two people, even if it's very crowded all around. Depending on the staff present in the service department, it may take a little longer, especially if the house is full, but this is easy to cope with in the pleasant atmosphere. Due to its proximity to the local train station, it is easy to reach by public transport.

After a long time, we went to Sachsenhausen for cider again. The whole thing has a bit of nostalgia about it.

Dit restaurant verdient een hogere ranking, daar wil ik mee beginnen. Op deze regenachtige zaterdagavond was er geen plekje te vinden in een van de beter aangeschreven apfelweinrestaurants, reserveren eerder op de dag was niet gelukt. Bij Zur Germania vonden we nog een plekje onder een luifel. En tegen onze verwachting in (gezien de schamele plaats 830 op Tripadvisor) was het eten super goed. Grote porties, niet te vet eten, smaakvolle schnitzels en andere gerechten en een zeer vriendelijke medewerker. En de appelwijn was nog lekkerder dan de avond er voor. De keuze was wel iets minder maar nog ruim genoeg. Helaas geen foto's gemaakt.

Oh, the expectations of an Eppelwoi economy in Sachsenhausen shouldn't be set that high anyway. Nevertheless, the service in this restaurant in particular fits easily down below...Sat with eight people at the table with a card. When we asked for another card, we actually got exactly ONE more card - Sachsenhäuser humor :-). The furnishings are typical, slightly bumpy, uncomfortable benches and chairs. In this respect, expectations were fully met. After an hour the dishes were on the table, but better late than never. Charming fun fact: The friendliness of the service was on the same level as our minimal tip. We have a MATCH... Two more words about the quality of the food: filling portions. Point. So overall not bad...for a cider bar.

This is one for the locals. No English menus. Standard grumpy waiter. Food was nothing special. Pretty dead place compared to the 2 pubs next to it, but they were packed so we have to go to Germania

For my first visit to Sachsenhausen I am very convinced of this pub/restaurant. The apple cider was delicious and I can highly recommend the green sauce! Even with larger groups it is no problem getting seats in the rustic and cozy inner courtyard. Kind regards also to the landlord who introduced us to the world of apple wine very nicely :)

When asparagus season arrives, the best choices are often German restaurants. We chose this restaurant to enjoy asparagus. Food: Firstly, the menu did not offer any asparagus dishes served with meats other than pork (such as chicken or beef). Therefore, I opted for the classic asparagus with potatoes. I don't expect much from a dish that only includes asparagus and potatoes. I also ordered asparagus soup. The soup was average in taste. It could have been served with a slice of bread, which I consider a significant omission. A slice of bread alongside a hot soup would have been a nice touch and would have enhanced our satisfaction. Along with all this, I ordered apple wine, the indispensable drink of Frankfurt. Always a good option. Atmosphere: I found the atmosphere of this restaurant very pleasant. It has a peaceful and calm environment nestled among buildings. I appreciate places that are away from prying eyes. Service: The service was quick, and the staff were friendly. Price-Performance Ratio: Balanced. Overall, our experience was pleasant. It's a restaurant I might choose again, only with the intention of trying other dishes on the menu.

The food was very good, the dishes were generous, we ordered 5 for 7 people and it was perfect. However, it took them more than 45 minutes to serve us, which seemed very tiresome, but maybe it was because we arrived at 3:00 p.m. and it was already a little late. For everything else perfect. Highly recommended.

Vegan schnitzels are offered on the menu, but cost an additional €3, which would in principle be ok if it were visible on the menu. So you're surprised at the checkout and it feels really dirty. The service was just bad but at least friendly.

I visited the German restaurant, and I have to say it was a big chaos inside. While the food was okay, I've had better German cuisine in Frankfurt at other places.

Uriges Apfelweinlokal zwischen Lokalbahnhof & Südbahnhof. Wir haben zu dritt spontan an einem Samstag Abend einen Platz bekommen. Service war freundlich und hat uns auch schnell bedient. Das Essen war sehr lecker und wurde auch nach nur kurzer Wartezeit serviert. Portionen waren ausreichend groß, Preise teilweise etwas gehobener im Vergleich zu anderen Apfelweinlokalen.

Essen okay, Service katastrophal und Rest durchschnittliche Ebbelwoi-Gaststätte - haben über eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet: Kellner war besoffen und hat Bestellungen absolut versaut.

Essen war bis auf den Prager Schinken sehr lecker. Besonders gefallen hat uns der lockere Kellner mit seinen coolen Sprüchen. Macht weiter so !

Mir hat es gefallen, an einem Mittwoch Abend dort gewesen. Gut besucht, rappelvoll und sehr laut. Essen, in meinem Fall ein Zwiebelschnitzel, hat gut geschmeckt. Apfelwein süffig..gut!

The käsespatzle here is the best I've tried so far.

Gute bürgerliche Küche. Alle Gerichte waren lecker. Das Sauerkraut hat noch Luft nach oben, da fehlte mir etwas Speck oder Apfelstücke. Preise fair und Service top. Hier kommt man gerne wieder.

Ein netter Ort um sich an Frankfurtern Spezialitäten wie Apple woi und grüner Soße zu erfreuen. Ebenfalls ist die Bedienung sehr freundlich und man wird auch als Tourist direkt in die Genießer Gemeinschaft integriert. Wenn ich mal wieder in Alt Sachsenhausen, komm ich da auf jedenfall vorbei

Trotz sehr hoher Auslastung wurde es uns möglich gemacht, dort einen Tisch zu bekommen. Der Service war super, sehr schnell und freundlich. Handkäs und Ebbelwoi mega lecker!

Typische rustikale Sachsenhäuser Äppelwoistub

Die Germania reiht sich in der Texorstrasse neben anderen Apfelweinkneipen ein. Allerdings war unser Besuch hier alles andere als gut. Zwei Kellner teilten sich die Tische im gut besuchten Restaurant auf; während der eine es jedoch schaffte, für seinen Bereich Bestellungen aufzunehmen, lief der andere ununterbrochen an uns vorbei, ohne sich für uns zu interessieren. Nachdem wir endlich unsere Getraenkebestellungen aufgeben konnten und gleich auch bereit waren, das Essen zu bestellen, teilte er uns kurz und knapp mit: Essen später! Ein freundliches Wort scheint in der Gaststätte wohl zu viel verlangt zu sein. Das hat auch nichts mehr mit der Sachsenhäuser Apfelweinkneipen-Mentalität zu tun, sondern einfach nur mit Unhöflichkeit. Mehrere Personen neben uns sind ebenfalls mangels Bedienung aufgestanden und gegangen oder haben sich umgesetzt, um vom anderen Kellner bedient zu werden. Das Essen war ebenfalls nicht das Warten wert. Dickes, nicht weich geklopptes Schnitzel aus der Tiefkühltruhe. Am besten in eines der anderen Lokale um die Ecke gehen.

Mir gefällt es dort. Alte eingesessene kleine Apfelweinkneipe mit angemessenen Preisen. Hier ist die Welt noch in Ordnung

Das Essen war hervorragend, der Service sehr schlecht. Auf das Essen mussten wir ca. 1 Std warten. Der Biergarten sehr gemütlich. Die Getränke sind überteuert (Flaschenbier 5,50).

Tolle "Kneipe" es gibt super Essen und der Apfelwein schmeckt lecker. Am liebsten esse ich die Blut und Leber und Rotwurst.................einfach genial.

Ach, die Erwartungen an eine Eppelwoi Wirtschaft in Sachsenhausen sollten sowieso nicht so hoch gehängt werden. Trotzdem passt insbesondere der Service dieses Restaurants locker unten durch...Mit acht Leuten am Tisch mit einer Karte gesessen. Auf die Frage nach einer weiteren Karte, haben wir auch wirklich genau EINE weitere Karte bekommen - Sachsenhäuser Humor :-). Die Einrichtung ist typisch, leicht angestoßen, unbequeme Bänke und Stühle. In dieser Hinsicht wurden die Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Nach einer Stunde waren die Gerichte auch am Tisch, aber besser spät als nie. Charmanter Fun Fact: Die Freundlichkeit der Bedienung lag auf dem gleichen Niveau wie unser minimales Trinkgeld. Wir haben ein MATCH... Noch zwei Worte zur Qualität des Essens: Sättigende Portionen. Punkt. Also insgesamt gar nicht so schlecht...für eine Apfelwein Kneipe.

Ganz uriges kleines Restaurant, es war sehr laut und warm. Ich hatte das Schnitzel mit Zwiebelsoße und Bratkartoffeln. Das Schweinelachsschnitzel war ein bisschen trocken, die Zwiebelsoße und die Bratkartoffeln waren gut.

Wer authentisch Grüne Sauce in Frankfurt essen möchte ist hier richtig. Etwas kleiner als die anderen „bekannten“, dafür aber auch ohne Reservierung möglich und identisch lecker.

Waren gestern Abend zur besten Samstag-High-Life-Zeit zum ersten mal im "Germania", eine alt eingesessene Frankforter Stub. Wir hatten nicht reserviert, 4/5 aller Tische hatten aber jenes "Reserviert"-Schildchen. Die Bedienung hatte aber alles im Griff und schwups saßen wir schon. Auch die Tischnachbarn waren nett, eine längere Unterhaltung bahnte sich an. Doch das Essen..., ich mag es nicht schlechte Bewertungen abzugeben, aber das Schnitzel (Zigeunerschnitzel) schmeckte nach nichts, gar nichts! War auch keine Soße dabei, sondern frisches Paprikagemüße - gut gemeint, aber kaum Aroma. Pommes gab es nicht, was ja in ur-traditionellen Gastwirtschaften immer wieder mal vorkommt, und die Bratkartoffeln, naja... Und der Salat hatte zwar schon Geschmack, hatte aber eine so komische Konsistenz, das er mit der Gabel nicht so einfach zu beherrschen war. Sorry, vielleicht im Sommer wenn der tolle Bierhof auf hat nochmal auf ein kühles Getränk, aber sicher nicht zum Essen. Naja, Handkäs mit Musik... eventuell.

Hektisch, laut, unfreundlich und voll....so ist es halt in der Germania an einem Freitagabend. Bedienungen unfreundlich und etwas überfordert. Man hat nicht den Eindruck, dass die Kellner sich freuen wenn Gäste kommen. Handkäs in Ordnung (mit Musik 3,50 Euro), Äppler lecker (0,3 er, 1,80 Euro). Ich war seit Jahren mal wieder hier.....das nächste Mal werde ich wohl mal woanders einkehren. Trotzdem ist die Germania eine Institution in Sachsenhausen.

Man wird sofort in der zweiten Person angeredet. Wenn beim Sekundenbezahlen nicht sofort Trinkgeld gegeben wird, gerät das Personal an seine Grenzen und gibt selbst welches. Des Rechnens nicht fähig??? Nie mehr wieder. Auch das Essen ist ein FAKE!

Wenn Gäste lauthals von Bedienungen beschimpft werden, ist das die unterste Stufe der Gastronomie überhaupt. Und genau das ist heute passiert. Unter aller Sau. Diese Gaststätte ist nicht weiter zu empfehlen.
