I once ordered fried rice with chicken, which was very good and had a typical Chinese flavor. The service was good; you could speak to the staff in both German and English. It was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it. You can eat some of the same dishes at least twice. I therefore give the food 5 stars, the service another 5 stars, and the ambience 4 stars. That's a total of 5 stars for me.

One of the best chinese restaurant we have eaten in Germany (as well as the Netherlands). The aubergine and beef was fantastic and we just had to order more things. In the end, we ordered the Bang Bang Ji and eventhough it seems like a simple dish, it was amazing. The server was kind in their recommendation as well. Definitely will be back for more!

Hai Xian is truly a wonderful place for anyone who appreciates authentic Chinese cuisine. The interior design is very reminiscent of restaurants in China - lovingly designed and with an atmosphere that immediately creates a feeling of the Far East. The service is also authentically Chinese, friendly and pleasantly reserved. What's particularly nice is that everyone can feel at home here: those who like to try out new culinary things will find a large selection of traditional dishes, and classic dishes such as sweet and sour are also on the menu - something that many Chinese themselves also like to eat. It's just nice to have such authentic Asian cuisine in Düsseldorf. A place where you always enjoy coming back - be it for a relaxed lunch or an enjoyable evening with friends.

A hidden gem, even if it's not quite that hidden. The restaurant is on Oststraße, which is usually busy, but unfortunately not so much in the shop, which is a shame. The food is super authentic, Chongqing noodles and other dishes, and tastes very good. The noodles are chewy, springy, and perfect. The only thing is that the portion is unfortunately a bit small for the price. I've been here several times and tried different noodles each time. The classic, Chongqing xiao mian, is authentic and delicious, albeit very spicy. You can have it less spicy, but even at 30% I almost died. My favorite is Wanza mian (noodles with bean sauce). It sounds strange but tastes delicious. I tried it for the first time in Chengdu and have to say, here in Düsseldorf, I could hardly taste the difference. Just as delicious. The Yi Bin Ran Mian wasn't really my thing; it was very spicy (even with a little spice) and just tasted spicy. The other dishes, such as pickled morels and bang bang ji (chicken) kou shui ji (chicken), were also delicious and not as spicy as the main courses. The shop is also large for its size, and the service is very friendly. If you like spicy and authentic noodles, this is the place for you.

For our anniversary, we wanted to enjoy a special culinary experience and chose this restaurant because of our love of Asian cuisine. Unfortunately, our visit didn't quite live up to our expectations. Right from the start we had the feeling that we were being treated differently because of our young age (we are in our young twenties). Compared to other tables with an obviously older audience, the service seemed much more reserved and less attentive. This left us with a rather impersonal impression. The food didn't completely convince us either. Although it tasted good, in our opinion neither the portion size nor the originality justified the rather high price - especially in a city like Düsseldorf, which offers a variety of authentic and attractively priced Asian restaurants. All in all, it was a unique experience for us that we book as an experience. However, we see no reason for another visit.

Were here for the first time, as the other reviews say, you have to reserve by phone in advance as the restaurant is very small and so is the kitchen. The food is very authentic and good. In Düsseldorf, together with another restaurant, the best and most authentic Chinese you can get in the city. We ordered the lamb skewers, which were good but could have had more fat on the meat, and the sweet lotus were also good, although I don't like anything sweet. Then we ordered Mao Cai, quite spicy and authentic, seafood tofu, guoba rou (unfortunately too sweet for my taste) and the prawns with garlic. Everything was very good but the shrimp was the best. The service was good, only one older lady took care of everything. Guess it's the owner. There can be a wait for food, but that's understandable since there are only one or two people in the kitchen. Will definitely come back, it's just a shame that the restaurant is too small, as we would have liked to come with large groups.

It was my first time to eat Chinese food abroad and I was discriminated against by the landlady. I have eaten it in so many countries and cities, but I have never been like this in any restaurant. After paying the bill and ordering the food, all kinds of show-offs were made, and the Japanese nodded and bowed when they came in. No wonder I can’t stay in China anymore.
