On a beautiful sunny day, we spontaneously decided to stop by for a drink to go during our stroll. The young staff were very friendly and helpful, but the mood was seriously dampened by the older, long-haired blonde waitress. She seemed to be the resident dragon of this bar and was visibly annoyed that she was making us two Aperol to go and a Fanta. Her face spoke volumes, and when we asked for the Fanta from the fridge rather than the tap, she responded with ironic, insulting, and homophobic language: "Where else would you get Fanta?" and that I had found myself with a particularly demanding boyfriend. The small glass bottle of Fanta wasn't even completely filled into the cup, but only three-quarters; we certainly paid for the remaining quarter. However, it was withheld from us out of "kindness."
We ended up paying over 17 euros for two Aperols and a much too small Fanta :)
The icing on the cake: The Aperol tasted like cleaning water and was a 100% cheap copy poured into the original Aperol bottle.
So if you want to be ripped off and insulted and support this homophobic restaurant, then you've come to the right place.
Everyone should be ashamed of giving this house dragon even a cent of wages or tips.
One star is still too much for this kind of treatment of paying guests.
I got sushi there yesterday, weird white guy...
I threw up afterwards and had diarrhea. I'm still feeling really bad now!
It turned out that it was food poisoning..!!
I just don't buy anything from you!
I'm very angry and I'm glad nothing else happened!!
The menu at 5Sher Restaurant features exactly the same dishes as at Kabul Restaurant, which is not surprising since both are located in the same premises.
Both menus are completely inflexible, so any grilled dishes (a popular option for this cuisine) must come with a large portion of rice and a tomato.
Since we prefer nan bread and salad to rice, I tested the possibility of asking for a swap and ordered two grilled dishes (1 lamb, 1 chicken) without rice and asked for a salad to replace the two portions of rice. I accepted to pay for another salad and two nans.
What was delivered - at a price of over €40 - were five pieces of djuje chicken and two thin strips of lamb, a single salad and two nan breads. No additional salad.
The chicken was undercooked: turmeric had been used instead of saffron for the color; there wasn't enough grated onion in the marinade and it wasn't seasoned well. The lamb tasted good enough on its own, but what was there wouldn't even fill a sandwich - and that's for the most expensive grilled dish on the menu! For that price I could have bought enough lamb for several meals and still had change.
There are some terrible food options in Leipzig, and these people are at the top of that league.
We've eaten there several times before a performance at the Boulevard Theater. Fast and friendly service, extensive menu, delicious food, and prices there are reasonable compared to the rest of the city. We left our evening event full and satisfied. We didn't have a reservation, by the way.
In September we went on a hike around Lake Berzdorf and had dinner in this restaurant. Unfortunately, some hiking friends were unable to take part due to illness and canceled at short notice. The German network is poor around the lake and I was only able to pass this information on to the manager of the restaurant shortly before we arrived. I was shouted at and accused of lying. The service staff was also very unfriendly and literally processed us in a hurry. We were the only guests and probably too many. Constantly looking at the clock was annoying and at 8:30 p.m., after an average meal and being in a bad mood, we had the faxes and paid. So not recommended for a cozy evening. This restaurant is on the gourmet calendar, and at this time they make an effort to be friendly. It's just a good thing there are still restaurants in Görlitz where you're welcome.
