Extremely good food. My favourite is Nr. 31.

The menu at 5Sher Restaurant features exactly the same dishes as at Kabul Restaurant, which isn't surprising, given that they're both located in the same premises. Both menus are completely inflexible, so all grilled dishes (a popular option for this cuisine) must come with a large portion of rice and a tomato. Since we prefer naan bread and salad to rice, I tested the possibility of requesting a swap and ordered two grilled dishes (1 lamb, 1 chicken) without rice and asked for a salad to replace the two portions of rice. I accepted to pay for an additional salad and two naan breads. What was delivered—at a cost of over €40—were five pieces of djuje chicken and two thin strips of lamb, a single salad, and two naan breads. No additional salad. The chicken was poorly cooked: turmeric had been used for color instead of saffron; the marinade didn't contain enough grated onion, and it wasn't well seasoned. The lamb tasted good enough on its own, but what was available wouldn't even fill a sandwich—and that was for the most expensive grilled dish on the menu! For that price, I could have bought enough lamb for several meals and still had change. There are some terrible food options in Leipzig, and these guys are at the top of that league.

Wenn ich könnte würde ich Minus - Sterne vergeben. Leider war das Essen alles andere als "Kabab Kubide" oder Djujeh Kabab" und wurde dem Titel des traditionellen Gerichtes nicht ansatzweise gerecht. Weder im Geschmack, noch in der Menge oder der Optik. Jedes Gewürz aus der Welt hat sich in Kabab Kubideh befunden, wobei es traditionell außer Salz nichts weiter beinhaltet und alles andere den Geschmack komplett verfälscht (Manchmal ist weniger mehr) . Als "Frikadelle" hätte es durchaus durchgehen können, aber mehr auch nicht. Zu alledem war das Essen leider kalt (hatten extra was warmes essen wollen, daher haben wir uns gedacht wir bestellen was. Sonst hätten wir auch ein belegtes Brötchen vom Bäcker oder so essen können. Außerdem kann es ja auch nur kalt ankommen, da das Essen nicht gut verpackt war). Achso, beide Fleischgerichte waren auch komplett trocken und daher ziemlich ungenießbar. Aber wie sagt man so schön, der Hunger treibt es rein. Wer die persische Küche nicht kennt, wird eventuell einige Aspekte nicht ganz so eng sehen, aber trockenes Fleisch oder kaltes Essen ist für jeden wahrscheinlich selbsterklärend. Mein Geschmack ist es nicht, aber jeder kann sich natürlich seine eigene Meinung darüber bilden. Alles in Allem ist das Essen nicht stellvertretend für die persische Küche, bei der es traditionell viele Gerichte vom Holzkohlegrill heiß, saftig und schön aromatisch/ rauchig gibt.

Ordered around 4:30 p.m. for 9 p.m. The food was delivered at 9:47 p.m. without any apology. When I tried to call, the store was closed. The food was okay, dry but sufficient.
