Great place for wholesome German food (and they cater for vegetarians too).

We are big fans of the small branch in Polch. When we were in Mendig last week, we were unfortunately anything but satisfied. The ice cream generally tastes really good, you can't say anything about it. But my mom ordered spaghetti ice cream and while she was being served, the employee made three more coffees for another customer. In the end, the cup of spaghetti ice cream, which wasn't that big anyway, wasn't even half full. Although it was supposed to be three scoops of ice cream with cream and strawberry sauce. €6.50 for that is really a no go. However, the team behind the counter didn't seem to be completely attuned that day. Mistakes happen, but this half-full cup should not have ended up with the customer and if it had, it should have been given as a gift.

We went here for dinner for the first time yesterday. Very friendly, attentive service staff. Great burger (Eifelburger), fried to perfection, everything fresh and very tasty. Highly recommended. We'll be back! :-)

Portions that leave nothing to be desired

The landlady was very friendly, even our dog was greeted with a treat, attentive service, cold drinks, the food was fantastic, especially the giant chop, the furnishings are from the past, but clean and well-kept

Service very slow and overwhelmed. But food was good! Despite making a reservation in advance, we had to wait because it was apparently not registered... Special requests were taken into account, which I really appreciate.
