Why would they remove a dish from the menu when we only visited the brewery? (Greens, salad) Portions are getting smaller, prices are getting higher. You can tell the staff is in a bad mood when you don't tip. Won't be going back!

The food wasn't what we expected.

Excellent food, attentive service, good organic quality, a great selection of different beers, modern yet cozy interior. Also suitable for vegetarians. We were there for Sunday lunch and were lucky enough to snag a table without a reservation.

Very friendly staff who take good care of their guests, a super nice outdoor area with plenty of space. The restaurant is still under renovation, but guests aren't restricted. The food was delicious; the only minor remarks aren't the fault of the chefs. Thanks to the friendly waitress, Johannes.

Arriving here the place give me some fancy vibes, but the space outside and the beers were very nice. I tasted the slowcooked wild board and a special schnitzel and I was very happy about the food, it was tasty and the portion wa really filling. The price foe the food you get is fair. I could suggest to use some Italian aperol to do the aperol spritz, because it was not really good. I also suggest to do not put the pole of the parasol in between the seat in big tables. The service was also fast and kind. Nice overall experience

Cozy and friendly restaurant / brewery. Restaurant was fully booked, but you can also get a nice menu in the open air in a cozy setting. Chairs were not to sit on for long, but for a schnitzel with fries a great alternative. Nice beer menu with a large selection. You just have to accept the wooden folding chairs. Nice service and your order is in front of you within "fast" time. Prices are worth it. Worth repeating. Until next time 😇

I was there for a beer tasting. Surprisingly, I learned that Mike had to take his exam with his boss, Tobi, that day. Even though I was the only one in attendance, I was guided through the tasting with great passion and absolute perfection. Afterward, we had dinner at the brewery – the food was delicious and the service first-class.

We received a very friendly welcome, were assigned a table, and despite the large number of guests, Marco served us quickly. He is truly very friendly, customer-oriented, and helpful. My husband had goulash soup, and I had two dumplings with sauerkraut and beer roast sauce. Absolutely delicious 😋. We loved Marco; he's charming and friendly without coming across as fake. Please keep up the good work. We'll definitely be back. Until then, all the best to you and your team!

We went to the Vulkan Brewery today. It was amazing. The restaurant offers a great insight into the brewery. You receive a very friendly welcome and are seated. The menu is typical of a brewery, but everything is of very high quality, organic, and truly tempting. We ordered and looked around. All the plates were individually and very tastefully presented. The taste was amazing and plentiful. We also had dessert – and we were delighted. The entire time, the staff were very attentive and friendly, ensuring our well-being. Davide personally looked after us with his open, humorous manner. We felt very comfortable and drove home happy and full. Highly recommended

A must-visit after visiting the Lava Dome and Lavakeller. Very cozy, friendly service, and a great way to end the day with oven-warm pretzels and volcanic beer. Highly recommended.

Fresh German brewery cuisine at good prices, delicious beers and interesting tours are available there, there is also a brewery shop you should definitely make a reservation on the weekend as otherwise you will be unlikely to find a table. Update 2025 the price-performance ratio is still very good the vulkanbrauerei has now converted most of its cooking to organic yes you now pay a euro more but this also makes shopping much more expensive the price-performance ratio is still very good if you have a different opinion just do the math what you would get for your money at the golden m or your local kebab shop?

We always enjoy coming back to the brewery. It's almost like a second home to me. The food is first-class, and the beer... delicious as always. The restaurant itself has become truly beautiful since the renovation a few years ago. The service is excellent. Michaela and Alex, in particular, do a very good job. Davide, who always stands out to us because of his open and personal manner, is wonderful. 😉🥰 The playground by the beer garden is wonderful for the kids. They can run around there with complete freedom. The area is also fenced in, so you don't have to worry about the neighboring street.

We visited the brewery's beer garden for the first time. We had a good seat there, although the surrounding area could have been a bit more appealing. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and quick... The food was good, but quite expensive considering the small portions. The beer was tasty. All in all, it was a nice stay, and we'll definitely be back.

It was a great experience. We first went to the shop and stocked up on various beers from the brewery. Afterwards, we went to the beer garden. Leon greeted us very warmly and served us throughout our stay. The food was delicious, with a good selection of drinks and tasty beers straight from the brewery. It was a very enjoyable visit that left us wanting more. PS: Our dog Sammy also got his own drinking bowl.

I've been coming to the Vulkanbrauerei for about 20 years, and until five years ago the food here was absolutely top-notch. Then they renovated, and at some point the menu was reduced by about a third. I've eaten almost all of the current dishes, and my favorite has always been the spare ribs, which supposedly spent over six hours in the smoker. Today is a holiday, and the place is packed. But even on such a stressful day, I expect the quality of the food to be good. The spare ribs were tough as leather. If they really were in the smoker for six hours, then my name is Oskar! Even on my last visit about two months ago, the quality of the spare ribs wasn't what I remembered from previous visits. The meat used to fall off the bones on its own, but now they were just as tough as the last time. The food quality has declined overall and is rather average. Only the beer is still of the same good quality. Therefore, it's only giving it two stars out of the original 4-5.

We stopped here spontaneously after a hike. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was fitting. I was surprised to get an extremely good lentil curry in a brewery where you'd expect hearty food. But be careful, the word "spicy" isn't a joke.

A very pleasant atmosphere and a friendly service team. As a non-beer drinker, I can't comment on the extensive beer selection, but the food was excellent and the menu leaves you wanting more. The service is friendly and quick.

Over the years, prices have risen significantly (as is the case almost everywhere), but now they've also removed the side salads from their dishes; you now have to order them separately. This change has effectively made many things a whopping four euros more expensive, and the portions also seemed noticeably smaller than on my last visits... The taste is still great, but the prices are slowly getting out of line.

The service leaves nothing to be desired, the food is like mom's at home and the historically inspired ambience is fascinating throughout.

We went to Brauhaus Essen. We'd love to go back. It was very busy. Still, the staff was super fast and very friendly. ♥️The food had large portions and was very good. As a non-beer drinker, I was surprisingly impressed by the Coke Zero. I'm often used to stale brew. NOT HERE. We'd love to come back and highly recommend it. 🌹 Accessible ☝️☝️☝️

Great location, and the beer is the best I've ever had. I recommend buying a liter of beer. Then you'll pay about €5 for half a liter. The food prices are a bit high, but everything is organic. We only drank beer and enjoyed our time.

Unfortunately, I discovered today that the brewery was closed, even though the website said "open" and the "regular meals" menu was up-to-date (week 20, May 12-16, 2025)! I find it very unfortunate that this wasn't indicated anywhere. No star.

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner on Sunday evening. They no longer serve the delicious Gouda salad, only the chicken salad, and unfortunately, that's only available upon request. €17.50 for a bowl of salad with 5 cubes of chicken. Unfortunately, they didn't serve the bread either. Sorry, but you used to be better at that!

Compared to before, the portions have shrunk significantly, but the prices have increased. Unfortunately, the quality has also fallen. I'll put it this way: if I had paid half, the quality of the schnitzel, bratwurst and fries would still not have been satisfactory. This will probably be our last visit here for the foreseeable future, but there are too many better alternatives!

There was only one person taking orders, a NO-GO! as that person stood around talking more than taking orders. The service people were very friendly and quick. This brewery should rethink their system, then they could make more sales and have more happy customers. The beer was very good.

Brewery worth seeing with great beers. Unfortunately, the restaurant has reduced itself to the level of fast food. It's like a dovecote and the quality has suffered greatly. No thanks...

We had a burger that was quite tasty but very small. The chili fries had to be paid for extra and were served with a ready-made sauce - a total of €25 - which I think is absolutely not appropriate. The beer is a matter of taste, but I would have preferred a Lammersbräuer, Tegernseer Helles or Bitburger. Service and ambience were good.

We went to the brewery inn twice. Since we had great weather, there was always a table for two available in the beer garden, despite the great response from guests. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Ordering drinks and food went smoothly. The beer is great, whether with or without alcohol. Lots of choice 👍 For food: a balanced selection, seasonally coordinated. Very tasty, whether simple, for a snack in between or hearty for when you're really hungry after hiking. A big compliment to the kitchen👌 Unfortunately the shop was currently under construction, so we couldn't buy any "merch". Keep it up LG from Saxony

Food and drinks were great. You sometimes wait a while for your second drink or have to ask several times. The beer garden is well suited for families with the included playground for the little ones. But the price is not cheap. Four stars

We go to the brewery every now and then. Yesterday, however, I was a bit disappointed. -First of all, definitely not from the extremely friendly and solution-oriented, always in a good mood service staff. Also first of all: there is currently a construction site around the brewery to expand/beautify the complex. The women's toilet was pretty dirty, the entire faucet was missing from one sink and the hand dryer was broken. The food was good. However, the normal BrauhausSalat was taken off the menu. When we asked, we were told that we could still order it. Instead, there are different bowls - you just have to like them. The sweet potato fries were totally over salted (although I haven't gotten any that were generally salted anywhere). Since the beer we ordered tasted strange, we got a different kind. The service staff also rated it as atypical in terms of taste. They wanted to take care of the clarification. I hope that the above points have been improved somewhat on the next visit.

We went to the brewery for three beers. It currently looks a bit wild from the outside because of the construction site. But it doesn't matter. Everything is great inside. Great atmosphere, very friendly and attentive people in service. We didn't eat anything but what we saw at the neighboring tables whet our appetite. That all looked really good. The Sud 13 is awesome. A super tasty bock beer. On the other hand, you can safely forget about the usual suspects on the market. If we head in that direction again with the camper, we'll be happy to come back.

The interaction with the guests was extremely good - a real feel-good atmosphere. The food and beer (there are now a variety of different types here) were also very good. First of all, there is definitely more to the ambience, but when we were there there was a construction site. The employees were nice and quick. The food was delicious, even if the sauce on the fish (choron sauce) wasn't my cup of tea.

We just had a drink, the staff were friendly and sometimes very entertaining. The food that was brought past us looked quite good. There is a playground for the kids.

In the sports bar with smokers, in the restaurant without. Even better outside in the beer garden 🍻🍻🍻

The restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff is friendly and efficient. But the selection of food and the price-performance ratio is not good. As a vegetarian you get different dishes, but none of them are convincing.

Me and my family had a great experience at the brewery. The staff knew what they were doing and hardly made any noise at all. The food tasted great and I can really recommend it to everyone.

We were recently guests at the Mendig brewery and were served by Michaela and Markus - and what can you say? Simply great! Both were extremely friendly, attentive and genuinely warm in their work. Despite the full house, they always had a smile on their faces and an open ear for our wishes. Michaela scored with her charming manner and fast service, while Markus created a real feel-good atmosphere with his humorous, down-to-earth manner. You can tell that they both do their job with passion - this is immediately transmitted to the guests. A huge thank you for the great evening – we will definitely be back!

Very nice stop after our visit to the lava cathedral and the lava cellar. Our host Michaela and the other service staff were very attentive and friendly, drinks and food were served extremely quickly and we enjoyed everything very much. Starting with chips & dips and asparagus soup, the dish of the day, meatloaf with dumplings and red cabbage, game goulash with dumplings, the feta burger with sweet potato fries, the brewery burger (a little more lettuce/tomato on the burgers would be delicious), the schnitzel with fries and fish & chips, and the dessert hot chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream, we were very satisfied. Since both adults still had to drive, we concentrated on the non-alcoholic light and wheat drinks, both of which also tasted very good.

The restaurant is often full, so you should make a reservation, but the waiting times are still manageable. Unfortunately, the food depends on the day, I've been there several times and never had any problems, except today. I ordered a Wiener Schnitzel. On the plate were 2 schnitzels, fries and a little salad. The top schnitzel was lukewarm, not the best temperature but acceptable. However, the schnitzel was cold and that's not okay, the fries were blazing hot by the way. I can still only recommend the resteraunt as it is good in most cases.
