I would give 5 stars for the friendliness of the staff who worked there on Sunday and for the products, but: We were in the store today and bought a mixed case of beer, half pale ale and half Sud13. Both cases cost €32.99 each. At the checkout, we were then told that one mixed case – for whatever reason – cost €36.99. I didn't want to argue, and since it was supposed to be a gift, I paid. But I don't think it's right or understandable. Reply to the reply: Unfortunately, I didn't take the receipt. If I made a mistake with the price and it really was only 13 cents, then I take it all back! But if it's just a rounding error, I don't understand why it's not possible to correct it. And of course, I mentioned it at the checkout.

We always love stopping here on our travels. The food is fantastic, the beer is delicious, and the atmosphere is great. We finally visited Vulkanbräu again on a "normal" weekday after a long time. Even with four people and a dog, we found a great spot where we could eat undisturbed. The food was—as always—delicious! And our server, Lena, and her colleagues were very attentive and friendly. As always, we were very satisfied and will definitely be back. We wish the whole team a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Anyone looking for delicious food while traveling in the Eifel region should definitely eat here. I've been coming here with groups for a long time, and the food has always been fantastic 😋 😋. And 10 out of 10 for the service – always with a smile 😃 😀 😄 at work, no matter how busy it is, even when the restaurant is packed. But ⚠️Attention⚠️ it's best to reserve a table!!! Lots of people already know how good it is here!!!!!

The brewery in Mendig is absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere is cozy and authentic; you can immediately sense the passion for good beer and regional tradition. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and happy to explain the various brewing processes. Mr. Zerwas and Mr. Groß deserve special mention for doing a great job. It's a place where you simply feel at ease. I'll definitely be back!

We received a very warm welcome. The menu was varied and perfectly adequate for our needs. The appetizers we ordered were very tasty and met our expectations. As for the main courses, the rump steak was cooked to perfection. The pulled pork platter was juicy and beautifully presented. For dessert, our son thoroughly enjoyed the cookie with vanilla ice cream. Throughout our entire visit, we were very well looked after.

Special praise goes to Michaela from the service management team: warm, personal, attentive, and with a truly wonderful hospitality. She played a key role in making us feel welcome from the very beginning. We had originally planned a tour of the world's deepest beer cellar. Due to health reasons, some had to cancel at the last minute. However, the brewery responded very kindly and flexibly – truly exemplary. All in all, a fantastic venue for events, great food, and a truly special experience. Highly recommended! 🍺✨

Hospitality is paramount at the VULKAN Brewery. The service is always friendly and prompt. Every beer and every dish I've tried so far has been exceptionally delicious, and the value for money is excellent! I love spending time in the cozy dining room, but the beer garden is also a lovely place to relax on sunny days.

This company is run with passion. You can see and feel it everywhere and in every single employee.

My wife and I were looking forward to a nice dinner, but unfortunately, we were thoroughly disappointed. We ordered the organic "giant bratwurst" with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut twice, for €26 a plate. The mashed potatoes on both plates were a single lump of a thick, mushy mass, and the bratwurst was so dry and tough that a piece fell to the floor when we cut it – rubbery and devoid of juice. It's a shame when such a good product is treated so carelessly. The ambiance was pleasant, and the young waiter was friendly and understanding; we explained our experience to him on the spot. We had actually planned to celebrate our daughter's birthday here with a large group and rent the holiday home that goes with it... but that's no longer an option!

I've been eating here very often for years. When you frequent a restaurant, there are always days when the food is better and days when it's not. I think that's normal and the same for all restaurants. But today, nothing tasted good. The soup was bad, the main course I sent back wasn't good either, and the replacement dish wasn't good either. The cooking was technically poor, and some of the products were of poor quality. Three stars for the always very nice, friendly, and quick staff.

We drove 100km to the restaurant today and it was absolutely worth it. Making a reservation online was quick and easy. There was plenty of parking. The food was excellent and the price was right. The drinks and food arrived promptly. The service was friendly and attentive, and they catered to all our needs. We would gladly drive those 100km again. Hello dear VULKAN team, I always enjoy visiting the brewery or the beer garden. The service, atmosphere, and food are fantastic! I just have one suggestion regarding the menu. In my opinion, you're missing some vegetarian dishes with pasta, potatoes, and dumplings. For example, dumpling dishes from Austrian or South Tyrolean cuisine would be great, as would pasta dishes from Italy. As for the meat dishes, I'm missing the meatloaf (it used to be on your menu), the "Krüstchen" (a type of open-faced sandwich) (known in the Sauerland region), and simply half a chicken with fries or potato salad. And for schnitzel fans: a real Viennese veal schnitzel with warm potato salad. This might be especially important now that it's getting colder.

We had our Christmas party today. Jessy, the young lady who looked after us throughout the evening, did a fantastic job. Everything was absolutely fantastic. 5 stars for the brewery. And 10 for Jessy!

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be years ago. The value for money just isn't there anymore; food prices have increased, certain items have been removed, and portions have been reduced by at least 20%. The beer is good, but only good; thankfully, there are plenty of good alternatives elsewhere. Make up your own mind. All the best.

We weren't shown a price list before ordering, nor did we see a clearly displayed price list. Perhaps we missed something, but this is definitely not acceptable. The restaurant only lost its star rating because of the quality.

From our Airbnb, it was just a short walk to the Vulkan brewery. What a lovely location! We had a delicious meal with our family and sampled beers with our oldest son. Definitely recommended if you're in the area and/or on holiday in the Eifel region.

Good food quality. Unfortunately, a bit too expensive for my taste. But that's not the case in most restaurants, with a few exceptions. The service is okay. In summer, the attached beer garden offers a lovely place to relax.

We had reserved a table, but despite having a reservation, we had to wait about 45 minutes in the sports bar, even though we were told it would only be a short wait. Unfortunately, we didn't receive an apology. The service was a bit inattentive; we had to ask the waiters ourselves to order. The food was generally okay, but the steak was significantly overseasoned. I've always been very satisfied with the brewery in the past, so this visit was rather disappointing overall.

We had a great meal, the service was very good and friendly, and the beer was tasty! We then stocked up at the shop.

Today, ten of us went to the Vulkan Brewery with a group of ten men. We had accidentally booked "only" a brewery tour, but our guide, Mike, spontaneously arranged for us to follow it up with a tour of the Vulkan cellar. Fantastic. We spent more than two hours with Mike and thoroughly enjoyed our time. He had the answer to all our questions and explained the brewery's history professionally and with great humor. The time flew by. I've been on many brewery tours, but this one stands out in a particularly positive way. A fantastic experience.

The ambiance and service were impeccable. I had the knuckle of pork with sauerkraut, dumplings, and beer sauce. Awesome! The flavors were perfectly rounded. The meat was tender, the dumplings weren't mushy, and the cabbage wasn't watery. The sauce was also perfect. I started with a dark beer and followed it with a light beer from the in-house Vulkan brewery. Both were excellent. Although I personally prefer the light beer.

The tour of the brewery cellar and the brewery itself was fantastic. Plenty of information and entertaining. Afterward, the five of us ate and had a great time.

The brewery is great and the beer tastes delicious. I've mostly had good experiences at the restaurant. Sometimes the food arrives so quickly, as if it had already been prepared and kept warm. The price trend from 2022 to 2025 is a disadvantage. Crates of beer used to cost €17-18. Before the organic conversion, they even cost €10 per crate. Now, beer crates have reached too high a price level. Who is willing to pay €30 or more for a crate of beer? The prices in the restaurant have also increased. The general opinion among locals is that the brewery is only for tourists. One way to counteract this is, for example, by giving Mendiger a discount or something similar.

After a quick visit to the Lava Dome, we spontaneously stopped by the Vulkan Brewery for dinner. We received a warm welcome and courteous, but not overly intrusive service, but with a relaxed, humorous approach. Delicious food and a diverse selection of beers were impressive. It was due to spontaneity that Google Maps led us here. Given the surroundings, you don't expect anything and it feels like you've stepped into a parallel world. A brewery with a shop attached to the building. There was a queue, but it quickly cleared up. Inside, you're greeted by a pleasant atmosphere. You're immediately on a first-name basis and assigned a seat. The staff are undoubtedly well-coordinated. Even minor errors among the staff are resolved without much fuss. You can tell that they work together. Although it was very busy, the noise level was acceptable. The food was great; we'll definitely be back. We took three glasses from the shop with us on our travels. - Truly, an absolute insider tip if you're on this corner.

Very disappointing! I visited the restaurant two years ago with a large group and was thrilled. Today, we were to repeat the visit with two people, and we were deeply disappointed. Despite having a reservation, we waited for half an hour at the entrance with a few other guests (also with reservations). Shortly after, we were greeted with the information "it'll take a little while," and the wait continued. After two small groups of apparently tipsy people were given priority, we immediately made ourselves known and were offered a seat right next to the completely overcrowded bar. When we politely declined this seat and were about to leave, we were fobbed off with the words "You can also wait another two minutes." We left the place annoyed and disappointed - a 50km journey for nothing, and it will be our last visit!

We planned to take the beer cellar tour. The website explicitly states that the tour doesn't run at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. We were offered the tour several times for 2:30 p.m. When we arrived, we were sold the tickets, and it wasn't until 3 p.m., after repeated inquiries, that we were told that there was no tour at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. Contrary to all common sense, which would lead you to think a company would apologize for such unbelievable incompetence, our first review was met with silly comments. We tried to speak to them several times and unfortunately received no meaningful response. No apology, no compensation. Good beer, incredibly poor service, and a huge disappointment! Absolutely incompetent!!!

Milk alternatives (lactose-free/oat milk) for the coffee specialties would be desirable, otherwise top as always

We were there last Friday (German Unity Day). It was really worth the 100 km drive. Upon arrival, you're pleasantly surprised. Parking spaces right in front of the door, even for wheelchair users. It couldn't be better. The next positive surprise came upon entering. The wheelchair-accessible restroom is very easily accessible. A little tip: If possible, a door switch on the wheelchair-accessible restroom would be great, as the door is quite heavy and might be difficult to open alone. Nevertheless, accessibility is not only promised but also practiced there. To get to the restaurant upstairs, there is a stairlift operated by the friendly staff. This prevents any "abuse" from occurring. You'll receive a very warm and familiar welcome in the restaurant. The waiters are super friendly and helpful. Every question or concern is gladly answered, and your dining preferences are taken into account. Despite the fact that it was a holiday and the restaurant was very busy, the food arrived promptly. As for the food itself, all I can say is that it was absolutely delicious. Everything was prepared with love, and there was something for everyone. A visit there is absolutely recommended, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

I was disappointed. I had the chicken breast strips with spaetzle. In my opinion, it wasn't freshly prepared. The meat was dark and falling apart. I think it was frozen. The beer was delicious.
