Wir waren heute zum ersten (und ganz bestimmt nicht zum letzten Mal) in den Ratsstuben. Service war super freundlich, die Karte nicht zu groß, aber für jeden etwas dabei. Essen war großartig. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Tolles, gemütliches Restaurant,wir wurden außerordentlich nett bedient, das Essen war mega lecker. In regelmäßigen Abständen kam die Bedienung und hat geschaut ob jemand noch Wünsche hat. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Geschmacksexplosion bei super zuvorkommendem und herzlichem Service in gemütlicher liebevoll eingerichteter Atmosphäre. Schade, dass man nur 5 Sterne geben kann! Bitte bitte weiter so

Hervorzuheben ist, dass die Kinder freundlich empfangen wurden, zuerst bedient wurden und Wertschätzung erfuhren, wodurch keine Langeweile entstand; das Essen war opulent, ansprechend auf dem Teller angerichtet und sehr geschmackvoll, allerdings für Oma und Opa etwas zu viel, da wir als Vorbild für unsere vielen Enkel gelten („den Teller isst man leer“), und da wir eine größere Gruppe waren, saßen wir zudem separiert – gerne wieder.

Wir waren schon mehrmals dort und waren immer sehr zufrieden.

Restaurant La Fontana - Vorspeisen und Pasta waren einfach köstlich. Authentische italienische Küche in schönem Ambiente. Wir kommen wieder!

Waren heute Mittag- Samstag- in dem „Bistro“ essen; wir können nur sagen: Top Ambiente, Freundlichkeit, Service, Raumtemperatur angenehm warm und sauber!! Und das Essen : ansprechend, reichlich und super lecker! Werden es weiterempfehlen und sicher des öfteren wieder besuchen!

1x dort gewesen, Essen okay aber nichts Besonderes. Könnte alles etwas moderner sein, auch die Anrichtungsweise.

Man merkt sofort, dass hier mit Qualität, Leidenschaft und viel Liebe zum Detail gearbeitet wird. Der Chef und die Chefin sind außergewöhnlich freundlich, herzlich und stets aufmerksam gegenüber den Gästen. Auch das gesamte Team überzeugt durch Professionalität, Freundlichkeit und einen erstklassigen Service. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben sind die wechselnden Menüs, die immer wieder für Abwechslung und kulinarische Highlights sorgen. Insgesamt ein rundum gelungenes Konzept mit tollem Ambiente, exzellentem Geschmack und einer sehr angenehmen Atmosphäre. Ein Besuch lohnt sich jederzeit – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

I especially like the changing menus because there is always something new to try. The atmosphere is very pleasant and you feel comfortable right away. All in all I can truly recommend this place. Friendliness and service were excellent. The food was very bland, and the price-performance ratio is completely off. There were many pre-made products, and they skimped on spices. For these prices, one should expect better quality and taste. Furthermore, there were no children's options on the menu. It's unacceptable that you have to order a meal for almost €20 for a small child because there are no smaller portions available.

A very fresh, crisp salad with a perfectly cooked dressing! There were four of us, including our adult daughters. We were served particularly delicious burgers: a grilled pork burger (not pulled), an Eifel burger (beef), and a vegetarian burger. Everyone was very happy! We ordered fries and roast potatoes as sides, which were also excellent! The drinks were well-prepared. We found the atmosphere to be calm and stylish. There was even carpeting on the floor, which made the overall impression more tranquil and warmer. We thought the decor was appropriate and effective. In short: a wonderful evening at the Ratsstuben anderswo! We'll be back! P.S.: We already knew the chef's skillful and creative cooking from his time on Marktstraße in Mayen.

We were a group of 14, the food was delicious, the staff very attentive, and we had a wonderful evening. A small suggestion: warm the plates so the food is still nice and hot. We'd love to come back.

The Ratsstuben Mendig has been run by new owners since April 2025! This review refers to the new Ratsstuben "Anderswo." The atmosphere is wonderful, and the beautiful outdoor area invites you to linger. Even in Mayen, the hostess Camila gave "Anderswo" its own character and has now conjured up a cozy decor in Mendig where you're always discovering something new. The service is attentive and always friendly. Camila's lemonades are simply delicious and refreshing. Mario's lovingly prepared food is a delight. The menu may be small, but it's all the more select for that. There are also always seasonal dishes on a specials menu. The desserts are worth every penny. Sometimes it's almost a shame to destroy the artfully presented meals, but once you've tasted them, you can't stop. So, if you want to enjoy excellent food in a relaxed environment, this is the place for you. Come hungry and leave happy!

Delicious food, good service, would go back!

The restaurant has a French influence, which is why the menu includes exotic dishes like snails. The menu is generally quite small, which I really like. The restaurant was fully booked, but we still had a good conversation. Service was very fast and regular. The food was very good, as ordered. The rump steak was absolutely top-notch, and the fried potatoes were cooked to perfection. However, I'm more of a fan of fried potatoes with onions and bacon, but everyone's taste is different. The onion soup was aromatic, the wine came through well, and the baked cheese was good.

We had dinner at the restaurant and were completely satisfied with both the food and the service. From the chanterelle soup (to die for) to the steak (cooked to perfection, as ordered) and the vegetable skewer that came with it tasted amazing. And the salmon on a bed of salad, everything was perfect. For dessert, we had apple tart with ice cream 👍🏻 Last but not least, the chef asked if everyone was/was happy... This won't be the last time we'll be here 😉

This restaurant is a real asset to Mendig. The dishes are unique and different. The staff are super friendly. The interior has a truly comfortable atmosphere. Now, in the summer, there's an outdoor terrace. And all this in the heart of Mendig. The team is always coming up with new ideas. First, they introduced a lunch menu with three different dishes, each a little different, for a small price. Now they even offer two different types of ice cream and an iced coffee in the afternoon. They work tirelessly, and they actually manage to do it, somehow 🤷🏻‍♀️, despite the current staff shortage.

Enjoyed dinner in the large garden. Three main courses, three satisfied guests. Pleasant and friendly service. We'd be happy to come back.

The hamburger meat was supposed to be cooked thoroughly, but I specifically asked for it, but it wasn't. The side salad was just iceberg lettuce. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the price (19.90). The same goes for the pork loin steak, which only had iceberg lettuce.

Der idyllische Platz vor der ehemaligen Schule bietet zudem eine stattliche Anzahl von Außenplätzen, die gerne genutzt werden. Geblieben ist die feine französische Küche, die jedes Gericht so besonders macht. Das noch aus Mayen bekannte kleine Team aus Koch und Gastgeberin, die einem das Gefühl von "willkommen bei Freunden" vermitteln konnten, ist nun durch weitere freundliche Service-Mitarbeiter ergänzt worden.

The portion (grilled plate) was too small for the price and overloaded with rosemary... a shame for the good meat! The baked potato, on the other hand, was very tasty. A decent dressing would go better on the salad, like the "musty" smelling balsamic. The service was very friendly and anything but slow. If it hadn't been for this, I would have only given it 2 stars!

From a gastronomic point of view, there are probably a few mistakes that could easily lead to loss of customers. We visited the new tenants for the first time on a Sunday. It was 6:45 p.m. on a Sunday. The menus published on the internet were not quite available that day. A very meager menu with three meat dishes was served. Anyone who wasn't hungry for a burger or neck steak was forced to stick with the rum steak. Sold out though... 6:45 p.m.?? with three dishes with meat??? The burger was 👍🏼 good, but the fries we ordered separately were in a separate bowl that was already full of grease on the bottom... you could squeeze the grease out of the fries. The salmon dish definitely had a whole head of lettuce in it... not bad, but far too much. But 👍🏼 good. Wine was ordered next door, but it wasn't available... A little tip... perhaps beer mats or coasters on the tables would be helpful, since the drinks from the refrigerator and the beer get the whole table wet. Plus points for the service. We were regulars at the previous tenant's, but we're not so drawn here anymore. But everyone should form their own opinion; maybe they were just having a bad day.

And as if that weren't enough, LARS – our trusted waiter – came into play. Charming, attentive, and with a sixth sense for our every need. He doesn't just read the menu, he also reads our minds! Whether hungry, thirsty, or simply full of life – you're in the best hands here. Conclusion: If you haven't been here, you've simply been somewhere else – and definitely in the wrong place. Unreservedly recommended!

We ate there for Mother's Day. The table was set rather carelessly, with paper, napkins, etc. The service was so inattentive that when you've finished your drinks and no one even comes, after about 25 minutes, asking if you want another drink, I find that very unfortunate. The fries were lukewarm, the burgers weren't cooked well (undercooked), I ate medium but not raw. The pork loin steak had way too much salt, the salads had the dressing ready, and the leaves were cut way too large. The food didn't arrive for about 80 minutes even though we were there with 7 children. We always asked for it straight away. No bread or anything else was offered, and no drinks either. As I said, I personally would give it 0 points for the service. We certainly won't be back for a while. The food was too expensive for Mendig, and the drinks, including the beer, were reasonably priced.

Very tasty pulled pork burgers, prepared a little differently than usual. The menu itself is quite concise. The staff is very friendly, and the place has a cozy atmosphere. There's also a beer garden feel in front of the restaurant.

Well the “Bistro Anderswo” is now “Ratsstuben Anderswo” and the quality has become even better. Delicious food, friendly service, nice ambience and nice operators who understand their craft. Eating too much cream and tomato paste instead of fresh ingredients! The tortellini doesn't even have pizza rolls! I asked and was told to order separately. But they're not even on the menu! A delicious and authentic Italian restaurant. Ambiance is okay, somewhat due to the fact that the restaurant is in the same building as the town hall. I will definitely go there again.

My wife discovered this beautiful and quaint bistro. We had a burger and spare ribs. Both meals were truly a taste explosion and the price and performance were perfect. Here you know your craft! I'd love to come back again.

Die Ratsstube in Mendig ist an sich ein kleinen schönes Restaurant. Bietet deutsch-italienische Küche und ist niedlich eingerichtet. Das Essen ist in Ordnung und für den Preis okay. Der Service allerdings ist unaufmerksam und nicht auf Zack. Grade an Weihnachten hätte man sich gewünscht mit einem freundlichen hallo in Empfang genommen zu werden oder, dass die Kerzen am Tisch zur Begrüßung angemacht werden. Also wird man als Gast leider nicht so umsorgt, wie man es von anderen Restaurants gewohnt ist. Leider muss man sagen, dass die Sanitäranlagen gar nicht in Ordnung sind. der Boden, die Toilette als auch das Waschbecken sind dreckig und man muss sich wirklich etwas ekeln, an der Stelle kann man wirklich um Verbesserung bitten. Daher „leider“ nur 3 Sterne

Had dinner there yesterday, the boss was unfriendly, she didn't respond to requests and even had expired Schweppes drinks. She was advised not to offer an apology or what I would have expected to be a reparation. I'm also having a lot of problems with bowel movements today.../waterfall, unfortunately like the last time when her restaurant was still at the Waldsee in Rieden. I'll leave it like that and won't eat there anymore...

Wir waren vor etwa 2 Jahren zuletzt in den Ratstuben und damals sehr enttäuscht von der Qualität des Essens. Das Lokal ist jetzt in der Hand der ehemaligen Betreiber der Pizzeria am Riedener Waldsee. Früher rustikal deutsch, jetzt mediterran italienisch. Wir hatten diverse Nudelgerichte und Pizzen. Alles sehr lecker und handwerklich gut gemacht. Für den 5. Stern fehlt mir eine frische Tagesempfehlung und etwas mehr Auswahl als die typische Pizzeria Speisekarte die jeder auswendig kennt und nur die Nummern anders sind. Aber was nicht ist, kann ja noch werden. Ein Restaurant mit Herz. Wir werden uns wiedersehen.

As an Italian chef I can only advise against this restaurant where you eat food that is not up to the price offered. Let's not talk about the unacceptable waiting times for drinks and food as soon as more than a couple of tables pile up. Pre-cooked pasta, not creamed properly at all, just full of cream and cheese. Ready-made pork cutlets, fried with mushroom sauce probably made with preparations and thickeners. This place can make fun of people who don't have high standards when it comes to Italian cuisine. Customer service in the hands of an elderly lady and owner, nice to look at but it's not a job for people of a certain age especially when she screams with her husband to have drinks made. Pre-cooked bread for sure, really disappointing appetizers, salads full of sauce to succumb to the non-existent taste of vegetables. If I were in their place I would only make pizzas. Those are acceptable even if not even remotely comparable to the Italian ones, perhaps because the pizza chef will be a good Italian boy willing to do what the owner says. Zero care for the dishes, simple parsley on the pasta as decoration, food placed on the plates without any attention to the eye. I have been there several times and will never go back in my life. I strongly advise against it.

Yesterday I had dinner with friends in the Ratsstube, we can definitely not recommend it. The service is very bad, she forgot to ask about the main course after the starter and kept us waiting. They also didn't ask about the drinks when they were empty. After asking for new drinks we were given a beer with a spider in it. But the food was delicious. Overall, I would never visit this restaurant again because the service is simply very poor.

The alternatives we were offered were also unconvincing and did not match what we had in mind. The biggest annoyance, however, was the cake we ordered. We had a special cake made in advance with a specific lettering. When the cake was finally served, several letters of the writing were missing. This was not only embarrassing, but also significantly dampened the entire mood of our celebration. It was obvious that care was not taken and the staff's apology was half-hearted and unconvincing. The quality of the food we eventually received was also disappointing. The dishes were carelessly prepared and tasted far below what we expected. It lacked freshness and creativity and some dishes were even cold when served. Overall, our visit to your restaurant was a big disappointment. We had hoped to have a nice celebration in a pleasant atmosphere, but unfortunately the poor organization and poor quality of the food ruined this special day. I hope that you take this criticism seriously and take the necessary measures to avoid such experiences in the future.

We were there last weekend with a large group. 25 minutes until the drinks have been absorbed and another 20 minutes until the food has been absorbed. It took another 45 minutes for the food to arrive. Ordered white wine sauce, got tomato sauce. - When asked about this, we were told that there were 400 people in the basement, all of whom were celebrities. It seemed to us that we were only second class. When the drinks were delivered, the wrong drinks were brought and some were forgotten. Red wine was served in white wine glasses and vice versa. When we asked the staff about it, we were told that it wouldn't be so tight. It seems that you want to go pee with the big dogs here, but you can't lift your leg.

We were here with a group of 23 people with a reservation. The team does not have the organization under control. Drinks were served incorrectly several times. It all took a very long time. The same chaos when eating, again some things were served incorrectly. The spaghetti a la chef was supposed to be with wine sauce according to the menu, but it came with tomato sauce. After complaining, it was explained that the wine was in the tomato sauce. Wine was brought in whatever glasses were there. The room we were in was acoustically unreasonable: loud and with a lot of reverberation. Conclusion: never go there again!

During our visit I ordered the small pizza. It's really tiny (about the size of a breakfast plate), the dough was more reminiscent of tarte flambée and was extremely sparsely topped. To be honest, I think it's outrageous to charge 14 euros for it. In the future I'd rather go a few doors down to the competition where they have pizza much cheaper.

Delicious pizza at a reasonable price

We ate very well (pizza) and the service staff were very friendly. The atmosphere of the council chambers is very cozy. We will come back in any case.

Saw a concert with Queen cover band there. There is a pizzeria next door!

Sadly very slow, but food was okay. Service takes a bit longer but she tries to be friendly. Atmosphere is the best part, but that’s not a reason to come back. Also the carbonara is not traditional… cream does not belong into it!

Highly priced, unfortunately it doesn't justify the food. Salad con pollo with fried chicken strips was ordered. There were no stripes, a few unseasoned cubes were included with the salad, that was it. Salad too sour. Average taste, where the location was so highly praised. A repeat visit is very questionable.

Absolutely outstanding experience! This pizzeria not only has excellent pizza with perfect dough and delicious toppings, but also service that leaves nothing to be desired. The employees are extremely friendly and attentive. The cozy and romantic atmosphere makes you immediately feel comfortable with your girlfriend. Price performance for a starter, 2 pizzas, 2 drinks and dessert are extremely good, everything was very tasty, I will definitely come back.
