Today, on the recommendation of friends, we ordered from Omar's for the first time (takeout due to COVID-19). We are absolutely thrilled! The dishes are prepared to a high standard, are authentic, and very deliciously seasoned – like an experienced Afghan grandmother would make :) The lamb was truly tender and well-cooked, perfectly paired with saffron rice, orange peel, and pistachios. My boyfriend is a fan of the Ashak dumplings, and I'm now a fan of Bolani dumplings. I will definitely order them again next time. The owner is very friendly. He gave us good advice and gave us a salad and dessert on top. Great food! A great addition to Augsburg.
Addendum: I originally gave it 5 stars. Unfortunately, I later discovered that the prices were higher than stated on the menu. Each dish was simply rounded up. This shouldn't happen, so unfortunately, it's deducting two stars. (We also tipped.)
The food was good, but the waitress was unfortunately overwhelmed with taking our order. The TV was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation. What was incomprehensible was that, when the menu price would have been €70.00, they charged €100.
Therefore, unfortunately, I can't recommend it, nor will I repeat.
A traditional Greek restaurant in Lechhausen, family-run for three generations. Perfect for a delicious meze meal together at lunchtime or in the evening. I can't comment on the main courses, as I've never tried them – no need to, because the Greek tapas offer everything your heart desires. Whether spreads, vegetables, seafood, or classic gyros, there's something for everyone. A large platter of hot and cold appetizers is placed in the center of the table, and the feasting begins. The only problem – you never know how much you've actually eaten.
There are seven parking spaces for restaurant patrons in the underground garage, and an elevator leads to the ground-floor restaurant. A tram stop is right outside. The dining room is spacious and, thanks to the stone floor, accessible for walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers. However, the bright white lighting and the flooring make the room feel a bit cold.
A few orders got lost in the shuffle with the service, but they were quickly and courteously resolved and served after a few inquiries.
The service was a bit slow on the uptake. All in all, a successful Friday afternoon with the family.
Quite inexpensive, but also rather bland. The summer rolls were tasteless, and the sauce was quite sweet. The peanut curry was mild with lots of fresh vegetables. But it too lacked spice and umami flavor.
It also smells strongly of frying oil inside.
No card payments accepted.
Unfortunately I can't rate the food or ambience because I called more than an hour after I ordered the food and asked about its whereabouts and then found out that my delivery had probably been canceled by the pizza boys. Curiously, the notification of the cancellation came immediately after I called.
I think it's a complete impudence to make someone wait for over an hour, call them on their own and then find out that they don't get anything to eat!
The atmosphere and overall service are wonderful. The average age is between 20 and 30. The prices are a bit higher than average, but I'd say the food is worth it. They organize different events every day of the week. If you happen to be at a dice event, you pay the amount of your chosen cocktail based on the number of dice you roll. The variety of cocktails is also quite good. Highly recommended.
Love it! I go to Dönner, especially when I'm still hungry late at night. The people are super friendly, the kebabs are delicious, and the place seems to always be open.
We had dinner here with a large group. We liked the concept of free refills and being able to "cook" your own steak. The price is also reasonable for the quality. The ambiance is nicely decorated, but too large for my taste, so it's not very cozy. Two points of criticism: about an hour passed between taking our order and receiving our food. Secondly, the quality of the waiters varied; we were served by three different people. One waitress was friendly and professional. Of the other two, one was not very service-oriented, and the other was friendly but inexperienced. This isn't a problem in itself, but it's more fitting for a student pub than a high-end restaurant. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and these two issues can easily be addressed. We recommend it.
