We ordered from Omars for the first time today on the recommendation of friends (to take away because of Corona). We are very excited! The dishes are prepared to a high standard, original and very deliciously seasoned - like an experienced Afghan grandma :) The lamb was really very tender and well prepared, perfectly combined with saffron rice, orange peel and pistachios. My boyfriend is a fan of the Ashak dumplings and I am now a Bolani dumplings fan. Will 100% order them again next time. The owner is very friendly. He gave us good advice and gave us salad and dessert on top. Enjoy your meal! An enrichment for Augsburg.
Addendum: I originally gave it 5 stars. Unfortunately, I later discovered that the prices were more expensive than stated on the menu. Each dish was simply rounded up. That shouldn't happen, so unfortunately there is a two star deduction. (We also gave tips).
It used to be my absolute favorite restaurant and incredibly delicious. However, the quality and taste have declined dramatically. We ordered takeout for four people. Everything was included, and the staff was friendly.
We ate immediately at home, but unfortunately, each of the four dishes tasted very bland and dry; it wasn't really tasty.
What really shocked us, though, was that all four of us, independently of one another, and especially after four different dishes, got terrible stomach aches. I don't know what was going on, but it was very disappointing, especially since the four of us paid over €80, which is way too much for this quality.
Honestly, this was the most unloving bowl of Vietnamese pho I've ever eaten. There were no vegetables to mix and match, the rice noodles were all broken, and the broth was disappointing and extremely salty. I'll probably have to drink a lot of water later. Maybe the other dishes are delicious—I guess I was just unlucky today.
Pros: The staff were super friendly, the place was clean and tidy, with a strong hint of exoticism!
A very good (long-established) restaurant, recommended in winter as well as summer, with its wonderful beer garden. Whether it's a delicious wood-fired pizza or more sophisticated dishes, everything served is delicious. Unfortunately, the only problem is the food arriving at the table; you'll want to be prepared for a while, as it usually takes a while for the food to arrive at your table. Otherwise, however, a highly recommended restaurant.
Unfortunately I can't rate the food or ambience because I called more than an hour after I ordered the food and asked about its whereabouts and then found out that my delivery had probably been canceled by the pizza boys. Curiously, the notification of the cancellation came immediately after I called.
I think it's a complete impudence to make someone wait for over an hour, call them on their own and then find out that they don't get anything to eat!
The three of us wanted to go out for a cozy dinner in the evening with a wonderful view of the town hall.
Unfortunately, the blonde waitress didn't even greet us.
No hello, nothing at all.
Just a "Our kitchen closes in 15 minutes."
Really rude.
So we hurried to order.
The food was good, but they should have paid more attention to the service.
Unfortunately, we didn't feel welcome, and it came across as if we were a nuisance to the waitress.
Really a shame.
One star for the location and the other for the food.
I love coming here. The food is always delicious. The staff is always friendly, too. The appetizer is honey bread with butter. I always look forward to that. In the summer, it's very nice to sit in the beer garden.
Service was okay.
Edible kebab, I hope my stomach can handle it.... The flies are everywhere.
It's nice that I got tea with it.
I won't be going there again.
First and foremost: The meat quality is top-notch - anyone looking for good steaks in a modern, appealing atmosphere has come to the right place...
But:
The gastronomic concept only works to the extent that the staff are capable of implementing it. The service was friendly, but overwhelmed and haphazard.
Orders had to be reminded several times, and a promised explanation of the principle behind the hot stone was completely missing. The stones were heated to different temperatures - my US prime steak with a fat edge splattered everything on the table within a one-meter radius with fat. Another rump steak wasn't even close to medium-rare by the time the plate cooled.
It's nice that you could theoretically reorder all the side dishes for your steaks several times, but if the service staff doesn't respond despite repeated attempts to attract your attention (clear beckons), you get relatively little of that. In general, it seemed to me that the staff only noticed a certain clientele and worked extremely slowly. The place was about one-third full.
The side dishes are very bland and tasteless, and apart from the very good fries, they're not my thing. One batch of salad was dripping with house dressing. Another had almost none at all.
I realize that good staff is hard to find these days, but as long as the negative experience outweighs the positives, I'm unfortunately out of the question!
So I tried it again, a kebab to take away. The service was so unfriendly that I felt so unwelcome. The meat was taken out of the tray, salad was smeared on top, sauce was slapped on, pressed down, wrapped, thrown on the Therese, and done. A 0-rating for taste, too. Unwrapped and immediately fell apart. Not recommended.
Probably permanently closed since the beginning of September 2024.
Unfortunately no message or information was left for the guests. The restaurant was simply emptied.
