Wow!
Great ambience, service at the table that is unobtrusive and perfect, sensational food and excellent wine.
Nothing more is actually possible.
Highly priced but worth every cent.
Average steakhouse
Due to its location on the edge of Dresden's Neustadt, hardly any walk-in customers are likely to find their way into the "Estancia Beef Club", which was nevertheless very well attended on a Friday evening in mid-December. This is probably because there are no other steakhouses in the area.
The guest room is beautifully designed and if you value a bit of food culture, you don't have to do without cloth napkins. The service is concerned with the well-being of the guests and usually does not lack attention, but sometimes the courtesy required. When we inquired about the whereabouts of the main course after waiting 90 minutes due to a follow-up appointment, we were reprimanded that we should have made it clear when ordering that we only had limited time.
In addition to a few standard steaks, the meat selection also includes a Wagyu entrecôte. The animals are almost exclusively flown in from America and New Zealand - regional cattle cannot be seen, at least on the map. In a "beef club" I would have expected a larger selection and at least that several types of steak with meat on the bone would be served. There are a number of other dishes in the “Estancia Specialties” section, so everyone should be able to find what they are looking for. The prices correspond to the average of comparable restaurants in Dresden.
After we were not convinced by the aperitif offer, we were offered a Crémant Rosé upon request, which was not listed on the menu by the glass, but turned out to be very drinkable.
The wine list is quite impressive and the number of open wines also deserves praise. However, at least €12 must be spent for two decilitres. This is not too expensive for the crops offered here and is due to the use of goods. That's why I was very happy with my Chardonnay from Dreissigacker. However, there is nothing wrong with offering a house wine at the same price as the sister restaurants (approx. €8). The meat selection is almost identical in all three Estancia restaurants.
Unfortunately, we couldn't convince our waitress to let the kitchen put together a small mixed platter for three people for the starters. We therefore chose “Aioli with Baguette” and “Pimientos de Padrón”. It would be presumptuous to expect something special from such dishes. But why industrially produced bread is served when the restaurant wants to stand out from the average remains a mystery to me.
Unfortunately, the main course and the side dishes were hard to beat in terms of insignificance. The rib-eye steak of Argentinian origin was a thumb-thick lobe, in which the "rare" of the ordered "medium rare" degree of cooking had already evaporated on the way from the grill to the table. However, the quality and taste did not give rise to any complaints, although the following applies here too: "No complaining, praise enough!"
The spinach was edible, but I would have liked it with more flavor and a bit of sophistication.
Unlike the sister restaurants, there is only a large portion of pepper sauce for €5 compared to the small version for €2.50. This is completely pointless because most of the contents of the gravy boat have to be returned to the sender, unless you also want to drown the dead animal. But it's just a shame about the money, because the sauce is reminiscent of what used to be used in canteens as an all-purpose weapon for snacking on all meat dishes.
Apparently there are numerous knowledgeable restaurant-goers on site who are convinced of the Estancia Beef Club, as can be seen from the almost exclusively very good reviews. Given the discrepancy between expectations and reality and the unbalanced price-performance ratio, I cannot agree with this and can only give it three stars.
Treated ourselves to an XXL steak, the meat quality was very good and cooked to perfection (medium). Thanks go to the kitchen for the delicious food.
The atmosphere and service staff are very friendly and quickly fulfilled our wishes.
All in all, I'm looking forward to the next evening at Haus Häner =)
We happened to be nearby.
We spontaneously got a place for two people there. The restaurant was actually fully booked and from the looks of it, you should have made a reservation. But the staff was so flexible and so friendly and actually seemed relaxed while preparing a place for us.
We then got a super delicious steak platter for two people in a very reasonable time. We were very full from the steak platter. Great value for money.
We'll be back 👍🏼
My aunt loves this shop and goes there often... this is our second time... the service is very nice, the equipment is a bit old. There were 8 of us guests who were mostly happy with the food. Mine wasn't like that.
I'm not rating the food because I ate before I got there so I had drinks only. The drinks ant weak. If u want a good place to have a gathering or just buy your self this is the place.
