We were there on Tuesday evening. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Reservations are recommended. Update: Highly recommended at the new location as well.

We visited again for the first time since moving to Überseestadt, and what can I say? It was another fantastic experience! It's expensive, but all in all, the prices are justified. We'll definitely be back! 👍🏻‼️

The Skybar in Bremen consistently impresses with its sensational view over the city – truly breathtaking! The ambiance is also modern, stylish, and inviting. Unfortunately, my experience this time was somewhat marred: Because I was only wearing a T-shirt, I felt I received significantly less attentive service. I found this disappointing, as service should always be equally friendly and attentive, regardless of attire. Overall, it's still a great location – with a bit more warmth from the service, it would have been a perfect evening.

There were four of us dining at The Grill. The ambiance is truly impressive, as is the view when night falls in Bremen and all the lights twinkle. It's a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The service was nothing special; I would have appreciated a bit more attention when our glasses were empty. My partner's tasty steak was served unceremoniously on a plain white plate without any garnish. A small amount of sour cream accompanied the very large baked potato. Again, I would have expected more for the price. I ordered fish on green asparagus but received fish on fresh chanterelle mushrooms. They had forgotten to change the seasonal menu on my order form. The food was good and garnished with fresh flowers. For dessert, we ordered a white chocolate cake with raspberry mousse. The dessert was beautifully presented and, apart from the rather dry chocolate cake, was the highlight of the meal. The final cocktail with a view over Bremen was a lovely ending. In conclusion: A touch of luxury, a beautiful ambiance, and great food are certainly worth the price, but presentation matters, and a few peppercorns or a small garnish on the steak plate would have been a nice touch, especially considering the price of around €85 for the steak alone. For our next restaurant visit with friends, The Grill wouldn't be our first choice. Good and attentive service is very important to me. Not having enough time for guests in a restaurant that isn't crowded is simply unacceptable.

Fantastic views, first-class rib eye, and a Béarnaise sauce that goes perfectly with it. A great place to enjoy an excellent steak with friends or business associates while enjoying the view over Bremen.

Amazing experience! Food was great as it sometimes tricky when you order 'rare' but they did it perfectly! And the view was amazing from the 17th floor. I enjoyed my whisky sour on the balcony. Quite hefty price but worth it I would say.

The view at "The Grill Upper River" is truly impressive—you can't complain. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that doesn't justify the prices: the quality of the food isn't convincing for what you pay. The atmosphere and the clientele are very unique. It seems so focused on self-promotion, so you can quickly feel out of place as a guest. While the service was friendly, the behavior of some of the guests made you feel uncomfortable at times. For someone who simply wants to enjoy a great view, the visit might be worthwhile. However, anyone who values ​​truly good food and a relaxed atmosphere should look for an alternative.

Perfect for steak lovers, they'll definitely get their money's worth here. The onion bread is always amazing, and the sweet potato fries are also top-notch. The new location is something special. Don't forget to visit the bar.

An excellent restaurant across the board. Superb ambiance, great view of the Weser River and the surrounding area. Super friendly and professional service!!! All of the dishes tonight... Wagyu fillet, Nebraska rump steak, and various appetizers were of outstanding quality and great flavor. A highlight for every dog ​​owner... our dog, Ecmo, was offered a small bowl of meat. A superb idea so that the meat that isn't used by the guest doesn't have to be thrown away, as it's also of good quality... the mini fillet tips... lightly cooked. An incredibly good restaurant with excellent cuisine! And the view is breathtaking! The bar is also a delight.

A steakhouse that charges 60 euros or more per steak should deliver excellence—or at least competence. Instead, I was served a lesson in how not to prepare a steak. The steak arrived without any Maillard reaction—no crust, no caramelization, no depth of flavor whatsoever (see picture). It was obviously just brought to temperature using the sous vide method and then placed on the plate without that crucial finishing touch (see picture). For a high-priced steakhouse, this is unforgivable. The texture? Flabby. The taste? Flat. The value? Absolutely nonexistent. When you pay that much, you expect a steak prepared with skill and respect for the craft. What I got I could have recreated at home with a plastic bag and a warm water bath. And in case anyone is wondering why I didn't return the steak: There were six of us at the table—I was the only one who ordered steak. If I had sent it back, everyone else would have finished long before I got my new steak. That is. Not the point of a shared dinner. I received no response to my later review. Even worse: A look at other reviews shows that the same criticism keeps cropping up. Either the restaurant doesn't care, or it simply doesn't know how to prepare a steak properly. Both are unacceptable at this price level. Conclusion: Anyone who values ​​their money, their taste buds, and their dignity should steer clear of this steakhouse. The menu is a lot of hot air – the plate has no crust at all.

The food was mediocre, the music was very loud, and the background music was unnecessary. Not adequate for the price range. The view was fantastic.

We stopped by The Grill Upper River just for a glass of wine – and were absolutely delighted. The wine selection is breathtaking, the service attentive and warm. The conversation with the owner was particularly nice – he was incredibly personable! A restaurant that I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

I was absolutely thrilled with my visit to this restaurant! From the moment you enter, you receive a warm welcome and immediately feel at home. The service is attentive, friendly, and professional—you can tell the passion they put into their work. The food was a real highlight: freshly prepared, presented with great attention to detail, and tasted at the highest level. I particularly want to highlight the carabinero carpaccio, which was not only a visual eye-catcher but also completely convincing in terms of taste, just like the steaks we both enjoyed. I very rarely give full marks, but this restaurant truly deserves it. The excitement starts in the elevator when you're "catapulted" to the 17th floor 🫨 We were there at lunchtime and received really friendly service. The food was truly delicious, and as a special treat, I'd like to highlight the complimentary onion bread with French butter. However, I must also say that as an "average Joe," you can't afford to eat there every day 😉 Which isn't meant as a criticism, because it's definitely an experience.

This expensive, streaky and tough rib eye steak - 300 g - is unworthy of a restaurant that calls itself a steak house.

"Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined significantly. The prices charged are no longer appropriate—the price-performance ratio is disproportionate. Furthermore, the service was unfriendly. Very disappointing."

No response, even more than two weeks after my email of August 24th to the Grill regarding food poisoning after a dinner on August 21st. Very unfortunate, especially since the email wasn't an "accusation" on my part, but merely a request for more sensitivity.

We had an all-around great evening! The food was fantastic – fresh, prepared with love, and simply delicious. The service was attentive, warm, and professional; we immediately felt welcome. At these prices, however, you can (and should) expect more: • That the windows are cleaned so you can truly enjoy the magnificent view • That the service doesn't say, "I'm afraid I don't know that by heart" when you ask for non-alcoholic aperitifs • That feedback isn't dismissed with excuses • That you receive a friendly farewell upon leaving if you walk right past the service staff • That the food isn't just "okay," but truly excellent The bottom line: a beautiful restaurant with prices that are too high for what is actually offered. We've been to The Grill Upper River four times since it reopened (twice in the evening, twice at lunch). The new location is truly beautiful, and the tables are stylishly set – a huge compliment for that. Unfortunately, the food and service aren't yet up to Vahr's standards: Several times we ordered "medium rare" but were served "medium plus"; the schnitzel came with two small pieces without a side dish, and the cranberries were forgotten. We understand that processes need to be established. However, given the steak prices, we expect the steaks to be cooked to perfection and the sides to be complete. We'll keep giving you chances and hope the team will settle in soon – the potential is there.

Great restaurant! We ate at The Grill last night with a couple of friends. The quality of the food was truly outstanding, the service was smooth and very attentive, and the ambiance was simply perfect. As a bonus, there's a fantastic view of the city and, at the right time, a beautiful sunset. After dinner, we went up to the bar on the 18th floor for a round of cocktails – absolutely fantastic. The ambiance is uniquely beautiful and impressive. It begins in the elevator and ends in a very nice restaurant. The service was super friendly and attentive, truly top-notch. The prices are high, but completely reasonable for the good food and the delicious complimentary bread beforehand. The portions were also generous. Our window seat had a fantastic view, so eating there was a real pleasure.

Here you can get really good steaks cooked to perfection. Great taste, but unfortunately overpriced. As I said, the meat is excellent, but when I pay that much for a steak, I expect great service as well. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. Friendly, but not attentive, and apparently not well-trained either. More of a place for posers. After eating, you can enjoy a drink at the bar, which is directly accessible via a staircase. Unfortunately, this is a good example of relying too heavily on the name. My meat was dry, the vegetables were unimpressive, and the fries seemed like they came from the freezer. My companion's burger was also disappointing, and the mustard, the only sauce, is rather unimaginative. Unfortunately, the food isn't worth the price. It's by no means bad food, but the steak wasn't worth €60. One dish wasn't cooked quite right. I've had better steaks for €35. The service was nice, but not quite commensurate with the price. It should be noted, however, that the restaurant is still new, and some of the waiters are probably new. The ambiance is very nice. The dining area and bar are very nicely decorated. The terrace, however, is very unspectacular and more reminiscent of an unpopular smoking area. Furthermore, you can't see much of the view once you sit down on the terrace.

Yesterday, four of us went to The Grill restaurant. The restaurant is stylishly decorated and offers a fantastic view. The starter, main course, and dessert were delicious. However, the service has some criticism: While the staff was friendly, the organization was chaotic. After the starter, the main course was served immediately without clearing the dirty dishes. After the main course, the table was cleared, but it remained unwashed. Only after asking three times were the crumbs removed, but they were simply swept onto the floor. At this price point, I expect better service—for example, asking if the food was tasty or when the main course would be served. Whether the team is new or inexperienced doesn't matter—at these prices, the service should be top-notch. The name alone isn't enough; quality service is also required.

Dining above the rooftops of Bremen is a dream! They escorted us to our table, accommodated our fear of heights, and moved us to a table in the middle of the room. Excellent advice on drinks and food choices, with special praise definitely going to the kitchen. The "family-style meal to share" was excellent. Even in the States, we've rarely been served a steak grilled to perfection.

Full marks! The 18th floor at Europahafen is a great location in itself. We immediately fell in love with this restaurant's modern and stylish decor. It offers a fantastic view of the city. We first had an aperitif at the bar upstairs and were then escorted to our table. The prices are high, but so is the quality of the food served. Our steak was "world-class," truly delicious. The staff was motivated and friendly, and everything else added up to the pleasant ambiance. Our dessert was a fitting finale: chocolate cake with white chocolate. We ate at The Grill Upper River on June 19, 2025. The new location is breathtaking, very tastefully decorated, and offers a 360-degree view of Bremen. The tables are beautifully set, similar to the previous one in Vahr. Unfortunately, the service isn't that good. The restaurant was 1/4 full. We ordered 8 shrimp as an appetizer and 1 pimientos. The shrimp were of good quality, but the sticky rice underneath wasn't quite right. Very tasteless, so I'd rather have a small bouquet of seasonal salad. There was a hair in the pimientos, which can happen. They had a new pimientos and they removed them from the bill. I thought that was quite fair. The main course was 2 steakburgers with fries, truffle spaghetti, and salmon. They didn't ask how the steakburgers were cooked; it was obvious. The fries that came with them were a disgrace for a place like this. The cheapest of the cheap. If there are no staff in the kitchen, they either need much better conventional quality, or they can quickly mash the potatoes themselves and have absolutely delicious fries. That's how it's served in every good burger joint. The sauces are ready-made; you can quickly make mayonnaise or ketchup there too. Then you don't have the pungent vinegar taste. The other food was fine. We ordered from the dessert menu... nothing came for 30 minutes. We wanted a cappuccino, but it was cold, only the cups were warm. I assume the milk wasn't heated properly. The cappuccino worked the second time. What I found positive was that the waiter didn't charge for the cappuccino there either. All the drinks ordered at other tables couldn't be assigned to the tables. They were asked every time at each table whether something had been ordered there. This obviously shouldn't happen in such a high-class restaurant. As a thank you, the waiter gave us a scented candle. If the waiter had been at our table from the beginning, things probably wouldn't have gone so wrong. I was really keen to train the team... Drink sales could definitely have been higher if there had been more waiters on hand. Proper training and task allocation are needed. Perhaps the restaurant manager should also be on-site if the location has just opened.

I was always very impressed by the meat and visited The Grill regularly, at least twice a year. This week it was that time again. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Prices have since increased again, while kitchen performance appears to have declined: I ordered a 400g rump steak cooked medium. An apparently much smaller piece arrived. After the service asked in the kitchen, it was confirmed that due to a mistake there was only a 300g rump steak on my plate. The service promised that a new piece could be brought quickly and, after asking, they took the plate back with me. After about 5 minutes a new piece came on. However, this was obviously not a rump steak, but rather full of fat and completely raw. I complained about that too and was taken back to the kitchen by the service. After another 10 minutes my 400g rump steak arrived. That in turn was almost cooked through... But I didn't complain about it anymore in order to save the evening to some extent, because my wife had to eat alone in the meantime. “If only I had kept the first piece…..” I have to give the service credit that everything was done to make it right. I received all of the side dishes I ordered fresh and warm and we were invited for dessert. That means the service was top! Conclusion: Anyone who calls for such prices cannot afford such a farce when it comes to the core product, in this case meat. Mistakes can always happen. However, the cooking levels were so wrong - even my wife's meat wasn't really as ordered - while the restaurant wasn't even close to 20% full. So it couldn't have been due to stress in the kitchen. It's a shame - I always really enjoyed eating there. There was nothing better in Bremen. This era is over. 04/24/25 I was back now. This time everything worked out. The Nebraska Tenderloin was great.

An outstanding steak experience at The Grill Our visit to The Grill in Bremen was simply fantastic. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, and the service was extremely friendly and professional. An absolute highlight was the beef fillet Sheriff’s Cut 500g – a perfectly prepared piece of meat, incredibly tender and juicy with an intense, natural taste. It was really a pleasure! We really enjoyed the evening and can only recommend The Grill. We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to the new location.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal in dem Restaurant und leider sind wir sehr enttäuscht worden. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stand nicht in Relation. 20€ für Pommes ( die billigsten aus dem Großhandel) wurden statt Parmesan mit einem billigen Käse überbacken. Der Trüffel war garnicht raus zu schmecken. Das 200g Filet war geschmacklich absolut nicht gerechtfertigt. Vom Salat wollen wir est garnicht reden. Immerhin war das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Very good restaurant. Excellent service and very nice decoration - all wood on walls and ceiling. Not a very extensive menu but very high quality. The location makes it difficult to get there.

The atmosphere is very good and you are welcomed very well. There were three of us. We had the family platter with 300g U.S. Beef fillet and 400g U.S. Rump steak. The beef fillet was world class, rarely eaten such a good steak, while the rump steak was very poor. A bit stringy and not quite as tasty. We also ordered a 300g portion of filet mignon. That was also very good and sits between the fillet and the rump steak. The service was very nice and accommodating but unfortunately not well trained. Neither wine nor meat questions could be answered satisfactorily. But with these high prices it is a must in my opinion. Therefore only 3 stars. Conclusion: The beef fillet is great, the ambience and friendliness also score points, but not every piece of meat was perfect and the service needs to get more familiar with it.

Third time we have come to The Grill, but this time it was a bit of a disappointment. For €780 for 4 people, you’d expect premium cuts of meat. The 400gr ribeye steaks were actually both semi dry and rather tough. Previous experiences at this place have been very good. Yet again, taken the hefty price into consideration, we’d expect better cuts of meat. Also we ordered the Barolo Coppo 2018, but they were sold out and served the 2019 which is a cheaper wine and not as good rated. Yet the price remained the same. Not too thrilled about that either. I think we simply might have been unlucky this time, but with such a price tag, there shouldn’t be any excuses.

Nothing can be complained about. It's just great how you are greeted, your jackets are taken and you are escorted to the table. You immediately feel like you've arrived here. The food was super delicious. I had the U.S. Rip-Ey which was served to me medium rare. A dream of steak. Gladly again

I entered without a reservation and was warmly greeted and welcomed. The ambience and furnishings are really very successful. And let’s start ordering: burgers with sweet potatoes! A very tasty, homemade and warm onion bread with butter is served in advance (free of charge). The burger was very juicy and tasted really good. What I really liked was the temperature of the food. It's still warm. This is rarely the case, especially with burgers. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating. And now the point: it was simply a bit too expensive. I had a burger with a side dish and a drink for €50.

Один из самых шикарных ресторанов, где мне приходилось бывать! Цены высокие, но это оправдано! Очень вкусное вино, потрясающий рибай, десерты - просто произведение искусства! Обслуживание на высоте! Официанты настолько профессионально работают, что продолжают фразу клиента и угадывают желания безошибочно!

Ich war jetzt mit der Family 3x dort essen. Was mich immer wieder aufs Neue anspricht ist das gediegene Ambiente. Ein wirklich sehr gemütliches und stilvolles Restaurant mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Des Weiteren der sehr aufmerksame und kinderfreundliche Service. Die Kinder wurden sofort direkt angesprochen von den Service Kräften und man hatte wirklich das Gefühl willkommen zu sein. Professionelle Servicekräfte sind das echt das A und O im Restaurant. Das merke ich immer wieder. Das Essen ist aus meiner Sicht top, wirklich gut und es gab bei unseren Besuchen nichts zu beanstanden. Gut, für eine vierköpfige Familie muss man dann mit Tipp auch so ca. 200-300 Euro einrechnen. Je nach dem was man gerne dazu trinken möchte kann es natürlich nach oben gehen. Aber uns war es das jeweils wert. Service, Ambiente und Essen stimmen, alles eher Oberklasse da muss man das eben bezahlen.

Für den Preis der etwas gehobeneren Klasse bekommt man definitiv auch was !! Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und waren sehr zufrieden 👌👌
