We were at Vai Vai on July 25, 2025, to celebrate my parents' golden wedding anniversary with our immediate family. We had requested a table in the wine room months in advance, which was confirmed to us by email after we explicitly inquired. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were seated at a table directly in front of the wine room, surrounded by two larger groups. For my father, who has a hearing impairment, the evening was significantly more isolated than planned. The meal itself was very good, the service during the meal was okay, but the drinks were poor in terms of quantity and quality for the price range. We then wanted to have a nightcap in the lounge area. Unfortunately, my father fell there. The restaurant can't be held responsible for that, but it can certainly be held responsible for the follow-up. When a guest falls in a restaurant, you inquire. As a shift or restaurant manager, it costs nothing, but it has an impact. The waiter in that area asked and then turned around in the middle of our explanations on the subject and left, saying, "Yes, yes, that's just the way it is." In summary: Good location, good food, subpar service for the prices charged. Customer experience is subpar.

There's nothing negative to report, in my opinion. It's a truly great restaurant with a fantastic selection of dishes, even if they're a bit meat-heavy. The location on the Weser River is truly fantastic, even though there's a bike and pedestrian path in front of the tables. The service was excellent.

We spent a wonderful evening at VAI VAI. The dry-aged Bistecca alla Fiorentina was a highlight: the meat was as tender and juicy as I'd hoped. The dish was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The flavor was absolutely amazing! The crème brûlée rounded off the meal perfectly. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the value for money was right.

In terms of ambiance, I find the upscale steakhouse feel a bit off-putting, with the tablecloths, the uneven wooden tables (the boards are of different heights), and the design concept. But, like many things in life, that's a matter of taste. Otherwise, the service was excellent, and so was everything else. The food and drinks were top-notch. It's just a shame that the roasted garlic on the fries left a bitter aftertaste. PS: I don't like restaurants that only offer a certain percentage of tips when paying cashless. That's what always makes me click "no tip." Since the service was good, it wasn't a problem. Nevertheless, I would have rounded up to a higher amount if I'd had the choice.

I have been to Vai vai a few times before and enjoyed myself very much. this time, I was surprised as our food was served on chipped crockery. That was quite off-putting.

The food is very good; the homemade lemonades were my personal favorite. The ambiance is a matter of taste; we were inside and I found it very loud. The server was friendly.

A top-notch restaurant with a top location, but the usher there is completely out of place. He was so unfriendly and unaccommodating, using a tone I've never seen before. Obviously empty tables weren't allowed because they were supposedly occupied, and they were still empty for an hour. We definitely won't be coming back because of this guy alone, even though we enjoyed being regulars.

This was followed by pasta with prawns: perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned, and freshly prepared. Very good steaks, overly light sauces for the price (why?), okay side dishes. Overall, a good restaurant, but too over-the-top for the more rustic atmosphere. It would be better to treat it as upper-middle class and still celebrate the steaks. Then the ambiance would be appropriate. The head waiter undermined the already good service of the waiter at tables by asking questions for additional sales – it doesn't make a good impression. The rating system is also highly micromanaged. 25 questions, 5 for service alone. It's not necessary. Bottom line: definitely worth a visit – but the price is rather high-end.

The food at Vaivai in Bremen was okay, but what really bothered us was that when we paid via the card terminal, we were practically asked to tip – with predefined percentages, and the "No Tip" sign barely visible. Tipping is customary, but this felt like digital begging – inappropriate in a restaurant. Tip: Create a discreet, voluntary tipping option – without any pressure at the terminal. Then we'd gladly come back.

When we mentioned the window reservation, the gentleman at the front desk reacted rudely and condescendingly. He said it was "not possible" because we had "reserved it online just an hour ago." No understanding, no apology, just a dismissive attitude. In the past, there have also been instances where a window seat wasn't available. The other employees always explained this in a friendly manner and worked with us to find a suitable solution. This time, there was no concession at all. What was particularly disappointing was that the gentleman appeared to be the manager. Especially in this position, one should be polite and professional towards customers. Unfortunately, I've had similar experiences with him several times, even without speaking to him directly. His manner and tone of voice are always negative, and I've heard similar things from people around me. The rest of the team, on the other hand, is always friendly and accommodating, which makes the difference all the more apparent. It's not about the fact that we weren't seated by the window, but about the disrespectful treatment of us as guests. It's a shame, because the food is still good – but hospitality begins at the reception, and that's unfortunately where there's a lot of catching up to do.

Disappointing treatment of regular customers – service absolutely unprofessional I went to Vai Vai in Bremen again today for dinner – a restaurant I've been to several times and have been satisfied with so far. I had reserved a table well in advance and politely asked for a seat by the window if possible. In the past, this request was always accommodated in a friendly and straightforward manner. But today I was greeted by an employee whose behavior was anything but hospitable – Mr. ***, who is apparently the manager or boss of the establishment. Not only was he extremely rude – this employee had also made a negative impression on me on previous visits. At first, he insisted on showing me my reservation confirmation on his cell phone, which in itself wouldn't have been a problem – but the way he handled it was unfriendly, almost confrontational. When we were seated right by the window in the middle of the room despite there being free seats, I politely asked for the reserved seat – but instead of seeking a solution or at least offering a friendly explanation, I was again fobbed off in a rude tone. Apparently, the window seat had already been reserved – even though we were there early and the table was still free. I'm honestly not disappointed because we couldn't sit by the window – but because there was no effort, no friendliness, no customer orientation. In a restaurant of this price range, where you regularly spend several hundred euros, this kind of treatment of regular customers is absolutely unacceptable. A fine restaurant thrives not only on its food and decor – but above all on its service. And unfortunately, today's service was abysmal.

If you're looking for a relaxed evening in a cool restaurant, you should head to Vai Vai. They have a small menu (in the form of a placemat) and serve very good quality meat at a more than fair price. They also have a cocktail and gin menu. Of course, the standard drinks are also available! You can sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle on the water or the street with a view of the Weser and the B6. We've been there several times and will continue to enjoy delicious food and cocktails there 😄

Really surprisingly good, but first things first. Con: - There are a lot of burgers here and a focus on beef. I don't like beef. I'd like a Beyond Burger, which is the ultimate in patty taste and which I'd take anywhere. - The fries were tasty and fresh, but they should have been cooked longer and were a bit saggy. Pro: - The decor is rustic and cozy, and you can see the Weser River. - You can pay by card. I hate being forced to carry cash around. We don't live in the Middle Ages, and luckily, neither does this place. - Friendly service, but not pushy. - I found spaghetti with prawns, and they were truly incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. The sauce was a little dream, and the portion size was appropriate. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality, and the price is really reasonable for that. - You can see into the kitchen from your seat, which makes it transparent. Great! - My companion had a beef burger and was also very satisfied. - Although I wasn't expecting much because I prefer Thai restaurants, I was ultimately completely satisfied here. This is a really good place to go, and we'll definitely go again.

Basically great store. Ordered steak medium-rare and got medium-well. But it wasn't a problem and was fixed very quickly. Service and ambience great. What struck us as strange, however, was the mineral water. The Pellegrino bottles had all been opened before, opened very easily the first time and most of the lids were already worn or damaged. The bottles had different levels of carbonation and didn't taste like mineral water. Our cautious guess, without wanting to make malicious assumptions: Here tap water was treated in the Sodastream and bottled in Pellegrino bottles.

Honestly, by far the best chicken burger I've ever eaten. The combination of the ingredients is perfect, the taste is great, it couldn't be better. 5 stars for the food, the great service and the interesting ambience. Unfortunately, today we received a table with a bench that was too narrow for the reserved number of seven people for our company event, so that we were squeezed against the wall or had to sit elbow to elbow while eating. However, in response to our complaint, the manager said that the table would be great for eight people, but then refused to personally prove this and squeeze in (even as only the seventh person) due to a lack of space, despite an invitation from our group. At the same time, an entire area in the restaurant where we could have sat comfortably was not used this evening. The manager refused to allow us to move there, commenting that this area would not be used that evening. We have various business lunches in this restaurant every year and don't understand this approach. The Vai Vai in Bremen is absolutely recommended! The Vai Vai burger with fries was excellent – ​​juicy, well-done and full of flavour. You can immediately notice the quality of the ingredients. Wir starteten unser kulinarisches Abenteuer mit den Pimientos de Padrón, die anscheinend in der Fritteuse zubereitet wurden. Leider war ich etwas enttäuscht, da der Geschmack durch eine übermäßige Verwendung von Knoblauch überwältigt wurde. Außerdem passte der Aioli-Dip meiner Meinung nach nicht wirklich zu den Pimientos, was die Vorspeise insgesamt weniger gelungen machte. Als Hauptgericht das Bistecca Dry-Aged T-Bone Steak. Leider war das Steak ziemlich zäh und der Garpunkt entsprach nicht ganz meinen Erwartungen – es ging von medium (wie bestellt) auf medium +, was für meinen Geschmack bereits etwas zu durch war. Zu guter Letzt gab es Pommes, die mich ebenfalls etwas enttäuschten: Sie waren zu wabbelig und hatten erneut einen starken Knoblauchgeschmack, der die gesamte Mahlzeit dominierte. Trotz dieser kleinen Mängel möchte ich hervorheben, dass der Service freundlich und aufmerksam war, was das Erlebnis immerhin angenehm machte. Vielleicht gebe ich dem Restaurant eine zweite Chance, denn jeder hat mal einen schlechten Tag. Ich freue mich darauf, beim nächsten Mal bessere Gerichte zu probieren!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to try out a Groupon offer at the VaiVai restaurant in Bremen - and not for the first time. We started our culinary adventure with the Pimientos de Padrón, which appeared to have been prepared in the deep fryer. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed as the flavor was overpowered by an overuse of garlic. In addition, in my opinion, the aioli dip didn't really go well with the pimientos, which made the appetizer less successful overall. The main course is the Bistecca Dry-Aged T-Bone Steak. Unfortunately, the steak was quite tough and the cooking point didn't quite meet my expectations - it went from medium (as ordered) to medium +, which was already a bit too well done for my taste. Last but not least, there were fries, which also disappointed me a bit: they were too wobbly and again had a strong garlic flavor that dominated the entire meal. Despite these minor flaws, I would like to highlight that the service was friendly and attentive, which at least made the experience pleasant. Maybe I'll give the restaurant a second chance, because everyone has a bad day. I look forward to trying better dishes next time!

We had lunch at this restaurant during our weekend in Bremen. We ordered 2 pancetta burgers with french fries and then a scoop of vanilla ice cream as dessert. The hamburger was tasty, with a lot of dressing (taleggio cheese, Vai Vai sauce and crunchy bacon). The fries were a little bit over-fried, and there were pieces of garlic inside, so pay attention not to eat them - the mayonnaise was very good though! The location is nice, in a business neighbourhood, hence the business-casual vibe of the restaurant. The price quality ratio tends a bit to the expensive side. The service was good, however, one of the three waiters that assisted us was a bit rushed. All in all, we had a good meal.

Ich war nach dem Geschäft in “Jeans und Arbeitsschuhen” dort und habe mich erst mal sehr auf den Aufenthalt gefreut. Die Auswahl an Essen und Trinken ist reichhaltig und lecker. Was irgendwie aber unangenehm war, war der “Blick” und die “Reaktion” auf die Aussage und Frage, das ich keine Vorspeise möchte. Irgendwie von oben herab und sehr komisch kam es bei mir an. Das ich dann am Ende einen Nachtisch bestellt habe, hat die Sache dann nicht mehr rausgerissen. So richtig wohl gefühlt habe ich mich dann irgendwie nicht mehr, auch wenn die Rechnung “ordentlich” ausfiel. Obs ein zweites Mal gibt weiß ich noch nicht.. Probiere erst mal an der Lokalitäten in Bremen aus die man auch für Geschäftsessen nutzen kann.

Ein kulinarisches Erlebnis der Extraklasse! Dieses Restaurant hat meine Erwartungen in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen. Der Service war einfach hervorragend – freundlich, aufmerksam und stets bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das Essen war sensationell. Man merkt sofort, dass das Küchenteam mit erstklassigen Zutaten arbeitet und mit viel Liebe und Können grandiose Gerichte zaubert. Jeder Bissen war ein Genuss, perfekt abgeschmeckt und wunderschön angerichtet. Ein zusätzlicher Pluspunkt ist die Bar: Die Auswahl an Cocktails ist beeindruckend und bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass Sonderwünsche hier kein Problem sind. Obwohl der Silver Fizz nicht auf der Karte stand, wurde er mir ohne Zögern gemixt – und er war fantastisch! Ein kleiner Hinweis: Unbedingt einen Tisch reservieren, da das Restaurant sehr gefragt ist. Alles in allem eine klare Empfehlung – hier passt einfach alles!
