Outstanding food, superb service, even though the place was completely packed. We were seated in the back corner and didn't notice a thing. The ambiance, service, and food quality were all truly lovely. There were nine of us, and we ordered everything from burgers to filet mignon. Everything was cooked to perfection. We'll definitely be back.

We were there yesterday to celebrate a birthday. The service and atmosphere were great. We ordered our food around 9:30, so the kitchen wasn't too busy. It's a real shame that everyone's steaks were cold—not lukewarm, but really cold. Putting everything back on the grill didn't help; it just meant they weren't medium-rare anymore. One person's order was completely forgotten. The server was very friendly and simply said that the kitchen had said the first round of drinks was on the house. Still, it was disappointing, a real shame! Never again.

They are quick, efficient, and very attentive. Now for the food. If you like burgers or steaks, this is the place for you! But there are also plenty of options for vegetarians. The food here is a treat for both the palate and the eyes. Everything is beautifully presented. A big thank you to you all. You take great care of your guests. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, I can only describe my experience at this restaurant as extremely disappointing. Despite having a reservation, I had to wait a full 1.5 hours for my food. The long wait completely ruined my anticipation. While the waitresses were very friendly, they couldn't offer a satisfactory explanation for the delay. During the long wait, I became increasingly impatient and hungry. By the time the food was finally served, my anticipation had long since vanished, and my expectations were not met. The quality of the food was okay, but definitely not exceptional enough to justify the long wait. I understand that restaurants can sometimes experience bottlenecks, but a 1.5-hour wait is unacceptable, especially with a reservation. This experience ruined my mood, and I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. The management should urgently take measures to prevent such long waits in the future and improve the customer experience.

Dear VAIVAI team from Bremen! To be honest, we were a bit skeptical at first. Ordering rum steak is always a tricky thing – often too tough, overcooked, or simply boring. When the steak finally arrived, we thought: We'll see how it turns out... But then wow! The rum steak was incredibly delicious, perfectly cooked to medium, and so well seasoned that I really didn't need any extra seasoning. I don't think I've ever eaten such a delicious steak as today! The service was super friendly (Thorsten was perhaps a little too nice, but better that than anything else!), and the dessert was simply divine. In the end, all we can say is: All in all, it was absolutely top-notch and highly recommended!

Surprisingly good for Bremen. I made a reservation without great expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Service and ambiance were truly excellent. The selection and quality of the food were impressive. The drinks selection was well-balanced, with even a 2021 Cloudy Bay on the wine list. The antipasti platter was truly reasonable in terms of taste and price. However, the 350-gram "naked" rump steak, at €47.00, was too expensive for Bremen.

The ambiance is actually good, but there's a lack of ventilation. This ultimately leads to a feeling of discomfort and reluctance to add dessert or a nightcap to your meal.

We had reserved a table for four people for two hours. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand all the hype surrounding this restaurant. The food is solid, but nothing special—definitely too expensive for the quality offered. The ambiance, while generally nicely designed, is far too dark. You almost feel like you have to use a flashlight app to see the menu or the food—even though none of us have bad eyesight. Added to that is the cramped space: the large number of tables makes the room feel very hectic. The open kitchen may be exciting for some, but it also means that the smells of food spread throughout the restaurant. By the end, you smelled like you had even worked in the kitchen. The service was consistently friendly, but significantly overwhelmed due to the high volume of orders. Accordingly, we had to wait a long time for our food. An absolute no-go was that after dessert was served, we were rather rudely informed that we could only keep the table for another 15 minutes. Such a warning should have been provided before ordering – it seemed awkward and unprofessional. Overall: Nice atmosphere, friendly service, but far too busy, too dark, and too expensive for what's on offer. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it.

We were at Vai Vai on July 25, 2025, to celebrate my parents' golden wedding anniversary with our immediate family. We had requested a table in the wine room months in advance, which was confirmed to us by email after we explicitly inquired. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were seated at a table directly in front of the wine room, surrounded by two larger groups. For my father, who has a hearing impairment, the evening was significantly more isolated than planned. The meal itself was very good, the service during the meal was okay, but the drinks were poor in terms of quantity and quality for the price range. We then wanted to have a nightcap in the lounge area. Unfortunately, my father fell there. The restaurant can't be held responsible for that, but it can certainly be held responsible for the follow-up. When a guest falls in a restaurant, you inquire. As a shift or restaurant manager, it costs nothing, but it has an impact. The waiter in that area asked and then turned around in the middle of our explanations on the subject and left, saying, "Yes, yes, that's just the way it is." In summary: Good location, good food, subpar service for the prices charged. Customer experience is subpar.

We spent a wonderful evening at VAI VAI. The dry-aged Bistecca alla Fiorentina was a highlight: the meat was as tender and juicy as I'd hoped. The dish was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The flavor was absolutely amazing! The crème brûlée rounded off the meal perfectly. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the value for money was right.

In terms of ambiance, I find the upscale steakhouse feel a bit off-putting, with the tablecloths, the uneven wooden tables (the boards are of different heights), and the design concept. But, like many things in life, that's a matter of taste. Otherwise, the service was excellent, and so was everything else. The food and drinks were top-notch. It's just a shame that the roasted garlic on the fries left a bitter aftertaste. PS: I don't like restaurants that only offer a certain percentage of tips when paying cashless. That's what always makes me click "no tip." Since the service was good, it wasn't a problem. Nevertheless, I would have rounded up to a higher amount if I'd had the choice.

Very good steaks, overly light sauces for the price (why?), okay side dishes. Overall, a good restaurant, but too over-the-top for the more rustic atmosphere. It would be better to treat it as upper-middle class and still celebrate the steaks. Then the ambiance would be appropriate. The head waiter undermined the already good service of the waiter at tables by asking questions for additional sales – it doesn't make a good impression. The rating system is also highly micromanaged. 25 questions, 5 for service alone. It's not necessary. Bottom line: definitely worth a visit – but the price is rather high-end.

The food at Vaivai in Bremen was okay, but what really bothered us was that when we paid via the card terminal, we were practically asked to tip – with predefined percentages, and the "No Tip" sign barely visible. Tipping is customary, but this felt like digital begging – inappropriate in a restaurant. Tip: Create a discreet, voluntary tipping option – without any pressure at the terminal. I had reserved a table well in advance and politely asked for a seat by the window if possible. In the past, this request was always accommodated in a friendly and straightforward manner. But today I was greeted by an employee whose behavior was anything but hospitable – Mr. ***, who is apparently the manager or boss of the establishment. Not only was he extremely rude – this employee had also made a negative impression on me on previous visits. At first, he insisted on showing me my reservation confirmation on his cell phone, which in itself wouldn't have been a problem – but the way he handled it was unfriendly, almost confrontational. When we were seated right by the window in the middle of the room despite there being free seats, I politely asked for the reserved seat – but instead of seeking a solution or at least offering a friendly explanation, I was again fobbed off in a rude tone. Apparently, the window seat had already been reserved – even though we were there early and the table was still free. I'm honestly not disappointed because we couldn't sit by the window – but because there was no effort, no friendliness, no customer orientation. In a restaurant of this price range, where you regularly spend several hundred euros, this kind of treatment of regular customers is absolutely unacceptable. A fine restaurant thrives not only on its food and decor – but above all on its service. And unfortunately, today's service was abysmal.

I've been a frequent guest at this steakhouse in the past and greatly appreciated the good food and friendly staff. My last visit was all the more disappointing. We had reserved a table by the window online, which was confirmed. However, we weren't greeted particularly warmly when we arrived; the receptionist seemed more annoyed than welcoming. We were also asked to show our reservation confirmation, even though it was visible in the system. This seemed suspicious and unnecessary. This has never happened to us on previous visits. We were shown to another table – nothing serious in itself, but the way we were spoken to was completely inappropriate. When we mentioned the window reservation, the gentleman at the front desk reacted rudely and condescendingly. He said it was "not possible" because we had "reserved it online just an hour ago." No understanding, no apology, just a dismissive attitude. In the past, there have also been instances where a window seat wasn't available. The other employees always explained this in a friendly manner and worked with us to find a suitable solution. This time, there was no concession at all. What was particularly disappointing was that the gentleman appeared to be the manager. Especially in this position, one should be polite and professional towards customers. Unfortunately, I've had similar experiences with him several times, even without speaking to him directly. His manner and tone of voice are always negative, and I've heard similar things from people around me. The rest of the team, on the other hand, is always friendly and accommodating, which makes the difference all the more apparent. It's not about the fact that we weren't seated by the window, but about the disrespectful treatment of us as guests. It's a shame, because the food is still good – but hospitality begins at the reception, and that's unfortunately where there's a lot of catching up to do.

If you're looking for a relaxed evening in a cool restaurant, you should head to Vai Vai. They have a small menu (in the form of a placemat) and serve very good quality meat at a more than fair price. They also have a cocktail and gin menu. Of course, the standard drinks are also available! You can sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle on the water or the street with a view of the Weser and the B6. We've been there several times and will continue to enjoy delicious food and cocktails there 😄

I'd like a Beyond Burger, which is the ultimate in patty taste and which I'd take anywhere. - The fries were tasty and fresh, but they should have been cooked longer and were a bit saggy. Pro: - The decor is rustic and cozy, and you can see the Weser River. - You can pay by card. I hate being forced to carry cash around. We don't live in the Middle Ages, and luckily, neither does this place. - Friendly service, but not pushy. - I found spaghetti with prawns, and they were truly incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. The sauce was a little dream, and the portion size was appropriate. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality, and the price is really reasonable for that. - You can see into the kitchen from your seat, which makes it transparent. Great! - My companion had a beef burger and was also very satisfied. - Although I wasn't expecting much because I prefer Thai restaurants, I was ultimately completely satisfied here. Basically great store. Ordered steak medium-rare and got medium-well. But it wasn't a problem and was fixed very quickly. Service and ambience great. What struck us as strange, however, was the mineral water. The Pellegrino bottles had all been opened before, opened very easily the first time and most of the lids were already worn or damaged. The bottles had different levels of carbonation and didn't taste like mineral water. Our cautious guess, without wanting to make malicious assumptions: Here tap water was treated in the Sodastream and bottled in Pellegrino bottles.
