Great old restaurant, it's always busy, so reservations are a must. The highlight here are classics like Maultaschen and potato salad or cream schnitzel and spaetzle, a dream. A recommendation for anyone who loves Swabian cuisine.

Disaster. Goulash was as tough as anything. Not even the dogs could have bitten it. Things used to be really good here. But today 6 out of 7 people were disappointed. Complaint was ignored.

Sehr gute regionale und saisonale Küche. Von der Flädlesuppe zur Maultasche, vom Schnitzel bis zum Hirschgulasch ist alles dabei, was man von einem traditionellen schwäbischen Gasthaus erwartet. Natürlich kommen auch Dessertliebhaber auf ihre Kosten. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant erinnert an das gute alte Wirtshaus aus vergangenen Zeiten. Hier verbringt man gerne gemütliche Stunden. Erwähnenswert ist auch die Weinkarte, die hauptsächlich Weine aus der Region anbietet. Ein idealer Start in den Abend ist die Eigenkreation 'Kessel-Spritz'. Das Personal ist jederzeit sehr zuvorkommend, fix und sehr freundlich. Ein Besuch lohnt sich immer!

Das beste schwäbische Restaurant in Stuttgart. Tolles altes Ambiente. Einfach super. Tolle Chefin. Mega Rostbraten. 😻 Danke.

Good, classic Swabian cuisine with appealing quality, nice service and the almost clichéd ambience of a Kistle ;-) exactly what we needed that evening coming from the Rhineland...thumbs up

Bad service. Very cheeky boss. Not recommended!

It is not so much about the food that was below standards it is about what happened when we ask for the bill..!! The waitress announced that the restaurant does not accept credit cards.. we protested because this against the law in the EU..! and in any case they should have mention it before we seat to eat there..!! The answer was that the previous waiter who already finish his shift should have told us, so no one was taking the responsibility on behalf of the management.. the lady that supposedly was in charge she said that “ it wasn’t me who seat you” otherwise I would have told you about the card..!! BS excuses they had a card machine but did not want to use it so they don’t pay commission to the bank.. I should have call the police but I was with friends and I didn’t want to spoil totally the evening..!! We payed cash and we were short of 20cents the waitress insisted because I didn’t have any coins left to give me change out of 50euro bill in order to get the 20cents.. luckily one of the friends had a coin and we gave it her..! The funny thing is the waitress complained we did not tip her..! That was it..! I told to go to h@ll..!! Wasn’t it enough they did not accept cards.. wasn’t it enough that the food was dried and burned she wanted a tip..!! Unbelievable these people.. I wonder what the authorities are doing…about them not accepting cards this is against the law.. I believe if we were Germans they wouldn’t ask for cash only because they could report them.. but we were visitors and thought they could get away with it..!STAY AWAY from this place there is nothing good about it..!!

A bit of a miss, well, it's Christmas traffic. Let's wait for the new year. The food we saw on the guests' table looked very good! We went back to our beloved CBC due to lack of space
