Good restaurant in an ideal location in terms of transport. Seen from the outside, the spice in the menu is rather inconspicuous. The freshly prepared dishes are delicious and can be found at moderate prices. A visit is definitely recommended.

The inside of the restaurant is very cozy and beautifully decorated with lots of wood. Really quaint. The food is very, very tasty and the prices are completely reasonable. The staff is courteous, friendly and was also very friendly and patient with our toddler, who had a bad day and was loud. Again any time !

We were surprised at first - a very well-rated restaurant and then we come in and it's quite dim and clocky - lots of wood... Then there was a very loud group of young people sitting at a table. To be honest, we wanted to leave straight away... But we stayed and don't regret it at all! Delicious food, fresh drinks, fast and very friendly service! I would go there again!!!

One of the most beautiful addresses in Ludwigsburg for simple, inexpensive but really tasty cuisine. The German cuisine is beautifully showcased by the Vietnamese couple. Not so appealing from the outside, but really unique from the inside!

Diese Kneipe ist tatsächlich urig eingerichtet, hier kann man sein Bier gemütlich trinken. Die Speisekarte ist allerdings äußerst knapp gehalten, Als Speiselokal kann ich diese Kneipe nicht empfehlen, zumal ich die Nacht nach diesem Kneipenbesuch im Badezimmer verbringen durfte…

Really very chic, quaint and cozy. The service was extremely hospitable. The beer came quickly, the food took a while, but that was probably because we showed up shortly before the kitchen closed :D. The Maultaschen soup, the meatloaf with fried egg and the onion roast were impeccable and worth the price.

Very inconspicuous from the outside and not particularly inviting. Very attractive/rustic/quaint inside. The restaurant is run by an Asian couple - which is of course a bit funny considering the authentic Swabian cuisine. The beers and wines are also truly Swabian and can all be recommended. The hit is of course the lady who - typically Asian - is very friendly and accommodating. If you are a little undecided about the choice of beer or wine, you can quickly get one or two wines or beers to try. I've never experienced anything like this before. About the food: As you can see from the Google images, everything is very tasty. All 3 of us had the onion roast, which was perfect. The salad plate included in the price was also very good. Roast roast sauce also very good and plentiful. Points are deducted for the spaetzle. These are definitely homemade, but the taste isn't bad, but it's not particularly special either and, above all, it's a bit lacking. We then reordered a total of one portion, which was delivered promptly. So everything is good. Overall, the visit to the restaurant was very pleasant and satisfying. We'd love to come back. I actually want to try the whole menu :-)

The food is also very good for “non-fans” of Swabian cuisine. Wonderful fried potatoes with fried eggs. Crisp salad, everything I've eaten there so far has been simply delicious. That's why I go there often. My only problem is the volume maybe it's because it's always full.

That something like that still exists. Here the customer is still king. The innkeepers are refreshingly nice and the food is simply 5 stars. Great fried potatoes. It's great that you exist.

To the rustic, invites you with good German cuisine. friendly, familiar and cheap. Were there with a small child, was able to run around and didn't bother anyone. Gladly again. Very flexible, booked last minute. I think it's an advantage to reserve.

The food was very tasty, but not exceptional. The waiting time was much too long for that at just under 1.5 hours. The ambience, on the other hand, is really nice and rustic 😄

The restaurant “Zum Urigen” is a really great traditional Swabian restaurant, with a pleasant ambience, delicious food and great service. Highly recommended! We have been living in the Ludwigsburg area for many years now and unfortunately have never really noticed the quaint restaurant. It is located directly on the B27 and looks quite inconspicuous from the outside. When we were looking for a home-style Swabian restaurant, we came across the restaurant “Zum Urigen” and were absolutely thrilled! The restaurant itself has a really pleasant, rustic atmosphere that is now unrivaled these days. The service was always friendly and accommodating, and made you feel like a truly valued guest. There was also a nice saying here and there that made the already good atmosphere even better! :). We were in the restaurant with a total of 6 people and were able to easily make a reservation by phone at lunchtime for the evening. The menu is clear and only offers Swabian delicacies, which we can all recommend without reservation! Very very very tasty and really Swabian! ☺️.

Nice place with local Swabian food. You won't tell it from the outside, but once you enter, the place looks very typical and the atmosphere is quite nice. Plenty of choice at budget cost over traditional meals like Spätzle. Menus available also in English.

Sehr gutes Essen. Service sehr nett. Sehr urig eingerichtet. Kinderfreundlich aber nicht für Kinder gedacht (kein Kindermenü, keine Wickelmöglichkeit). EC-Kartenzahlung möglich. Gerne mal wieder, aber dann mit Freunden und mehr Zeit auf das ein oder andere Bier mit leckerem Essen.

Name ist Programm! Ein wirklich uriges Restaurant. Es ist kein Fehler einen Tisch zu reservieren. Service ist sehr freundlich und schnell. Die Gerichte waren sehr lecker. Ich werde auf jeden Fall gerne wiederkommen.

Habe saure kutteln mit Bratkartoffeln gegessen. War ganz lecker 😋 besonders die Bratkartoffeln waren sehr gut. Der innenbereich war sehr urig. Leider kann man wegen der blöden Straße nicht draußen sitzen. Am besten im Winter hingehen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Nicht davon irritieren lassen das es Chinesen sind, das Ergebnis ist sehr gut 👍

Ein schwäbisches Lokal geführt von einer sehr netten, ursprünglich aus Vietnam kommenden, Besitzerin. Dem Koch kann man bei der Arbeit zuschauen und alles wirkt sehr sauber. Da sonst kein Personal da ist kann es zu Stoßzeiten auch Mal zwei Minuten länger dauern bis man zum Bestellen kommt. Die Gerichte sind gut und die Getränkeauswahl ebenfalls. Es ist auf jeden Fall urig, freundlich und für einen neuen Abend unter Freunden zu empfehlen.

Wirklich echt URIG. Gaststätte (Kneipe) wie früher. Super leckeres schwäbisches Essen. Hatte leckere (frisch gemachte) panierte Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat. Auch die Bratkartoffeln sind Mega und die Fleuschküchle wie bei Mama. Man sitzt bequem in kleinen nieschen.

Sehr Gut gegessen sehr guter Koch und sehr freundliche Bedienung Wir empfehlen gerne weiter und kommen gerne wieder. Wir kamen aus der Nähe von Trier und haben Ludwigsburg besucht.

Normales Restaurant nix besonderes nix mega gut aber auch nicht schlecht aber Preise sind den Gerichten entsprechend und man wird auch sehr gut satt.

I came here with my family, but we reserved first. This used to be a local bar ran by Inge for 39 years (with limited food options), but then Lin and her husband took over 7 years ago. The rustic decoration still is there but the walls are white now, and a few more decorations. There is about 40 places to sit (including the bar), and you can pay with cash or EC card (no credit cards). Dogs are allowed. The staff was super friendly, prices are acceptable, and the food was perfect. The portions are quite large and everything is homemade (maybe except the house salad dressing). The schnitzel and cordon bleu crust was amazing — it was like the chef took old bread and made the crust himself rather than using store bought boxed breadcrumbs. Also all the meat dishes were cooked to perfection — still super moist and not dry. Because it was so well cooked, you didn’t even need sauce like some Schwäbisch dishes where your food is floating. I definitely would come here again - thank you for a lovely evening!

This place is amazing. Very traditional Swabian ‚pub‘ with delicious dishes. It may take a little while to get the food when the place is full - but it is so worth it. Family-led place. We are here about once a week - just love it. Reservations required.

Restaurant à l'extérieur du centre sur une grande artère. On ne s'y arrêterait pas forcément et c'est dommage. Nous y sommes allés un samedi soir sans réservation mais on nous a quand même trouvé une place à une grande table. Très gentil service, une seule personne en salle donc le service peut être un peu long mais au moins on ne pousse pas vers la sortie et on a profité de boire notre apéritif tranquillement. Cuisine régionale copieuse et de qualité, restaurant fréquenté par des locaux et des habitués. Belle adresse si vous êtes dans le coin.

Die 4 Sterne muss ich erklären. Wir waren zu Zweit und unsere Speisen waren sehr gut. Die Maultaschensuppe war definitiv hausgemacht und herausragend. Auch die Käsespätzle waren lecker. Ich hatte einen wir gewünscht auf den Punkt medium gebratenen Zwiebelrostbraten der von einer tollen Soße begleitet wurde. Einen halben Stern ziehe ich dafür ab, dass die Fleischqualität nicht ideal war, da ich leider eine Sehne im Fleisch hatte. Fairerweise kann man das nicht immer von Außen sehen, daher nur ein halber Stern weniger. Einen weiteren halben Stern ziehe ich für den Einkaufswagen hinter uns ab, in dem leere Flaschen gesammelt wurden. Ich gehe davon aus daß sich das eingebürgert hat. Das hat in einer Gaststätte einfach nichts verloren.

This place lives up to its name: Zum Urigen. Really cosy traditional Swabian restaurant. The food is delicious, the service really friendly and good. Considering this is done by a couple (he cooks, she serves) the job they do is amazing. Even when it it fully booked you don't wait too long for your food. This place is indeed turning into our local go-to place. Love it. PS: if you want to taste traditional (and delicious) Swabian food, this is the place to go. Walking distance to the main tourist attraction (Blühendes Barock, Ludwigsburg's residential palace) and the town center.

Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Das Essen ist lecker und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis gut.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. The food and beer were great! The service was very slow. There was one waiter for the whole place, which was packed. The ambient is very charming, very Bavarian!

Wir sind vom Hotel ins Restaurant gelaufen . Das Restaurant war recht voll aber die Chefin war Unglaublich nett. Wir haben das beste Gulasch mit Spätzle gegessen was es gibt und der Salat war klasse . In dieses Lokal muss man gehen wenn man gute schwäbische Küche liebt .

Besuchten gestern vor einer Veranstaltung im Forum diese Gaststätte. Ein rustikales Ambiente. Vietnamesisches Pächterehepaar. Und urschwäbische Küche? Geht das ? Wir bestellten Linsen,handgeschabte Spätzle und Saiten. Natürlich wurde auch Essig dazu gereicht. Es war ausgezeichnet! Die Spätzle fein und perfekt in der Konsistenz wie auch die sehr gut abgeschmeckten Linsen. Die Wirtin nahm sich mit Ihren Gästen auch mal Zeit für ein 'Schwätzle'(in Dialekt!). Später füllte sich das Lokal,offenbar auch bekannte Gäste,die wiederkommen. Durch die Küchentür sah ich die frische Zubereitung eines panierten Schnitzels in klassischer Fertigung. Beim Gehen sah ich bei anderen Gästen auf den Tellern leckere frische Salatteller, Schnitzel, Bratkartoffeln,Wurstsalat und scheinbar auch frischen,hausgemachten Kartoffelsalat, glänzend und schlotzig. Es sah wirklich gut aus und wir wollen bestimmt wiederkommen!

Gutes Essen mit schwäbischer Speisekarte zum günstigen Preis. Gute Bierauswahl und schnelle Bedienung, rustikal eingerichtet. Aber natürlich nichts für ein romantisches Dinner.

I was here on a business trip a year and a half ago. The place has a nice cozy atmosphere and our crew was very pleased with the fantastic food; and the service was very friendly and informal. Almost as if we were guests in their home. I came back again this evening for the Schweischnitzel and hash brown potatoes and was not disappointed. Highly recommended.
