Post-Cantz in Ludwigsburg

All the dishes were delicious! You can tell how much love goes into preparing the dishes, something you don't see very often these days. We highly recommend it; the chef even came out to ask the guests if they enjoyed everything. The service was also excellent! Very friendly. We'll definitely be back!

We were in a handball match. We were looking for a traditional restaurant. We reserved a table. The staff is kind and friendly. The chef came to us because he worked as a cook in Hungary for years. The staff inquired as to whether we were wearing a coat of arms. The food order was fast, as was the preparation. Precise serving, delicious food, sensational vegetable salad. During the meal, the chef came again to see if the food was tasty. That's always a plus point for me. For lunch, it filled up in no time. A mixed age group arrived. Apparently, everyone was satisfied and everyone received a lot of attention. Due to the proximity of the castle, I heartily recommend it to tourists as well! Thank you for everything!

And to finish, apple fritters with vanilla ice cream 💕 Post-Cantz is already a permanent fixture on our restaurant bucket list; we'll be back! 😃

We had reserved a time slot of 1.5 hours here. The service and the cuisine are great, the food came quickly and was really hot and tasty. At first we thought that time would run out, but that wasn't the case, despite the restaurant being full. Simply perfect.

On Sunday January 19th We once went to the Post Canz restaurant. It was full at lunchtime. Reservation required. The service was impeccable, quick and focused. Roast roast with a piece of Maultaschen and spaetzle €33.80 I estimate the raw weight to be 170g to 180g, so it wasn't particularly big. But the quality is very good. The gravy was also “real”. In general, people still cook properly here. There are no finished products. Chefschnitzel, breaded, with spaetzle and cream sauce on request €22.80 The price is okay, the schnitzel is very large, fried crispy, the cream sauce is excellent, based on the gravy. The menu includes a mixed salad for €10.80 My wife ordered a leaf salad. There were a few pieces of radishes in it and it actually cost €10.80. That's very pricey for a small bowl of lettuce leaves. With 2 glasses of wine and an espresso we paid €90.00 including a tip. That's a lot of money. We'll be back, but not as often.

Swabian food at the highest level, freshly prepared without long waiting times. Service super friendly, food combination perfect and always a suitable wine recommendation. Prices very reasonable for this high level of culinary art.

We were once again at the Post-Cantz with a small group for a celebration. This is simply the best address for real Swabian cuisine in and around Ludwigsburg. Very centrally located, easy to reach by public transport (if you drive by car you just have to park somewhere for a fee). Food, drinks very good, service attentive and friendly, prices reasonable. I can recommend it.

Food tastes delicious, but not for this price. But it's not that tasty or splendid. It's also not that consistent overall (food, ambience, staff). There just wasn't a pleasant feeling there.

My family and I have been coming to the Post-Cantz restaurant sporadically for years. There has never been a reason for complaint. One of my two daughters was even allowed to look behind the scenes during an internship almost 30 years ago. Now it was another birthday that was celebrated in a small group and everyone, without exception, praised the delicious dishes (cordon bleu, roast beef, tripe from the terrine, zander fillet, etc. etc.). We would love to come back ***** ....

We were lucky to get a seat without a reservation on Saturday evening. After a short wait, after the table was re-set, we were able to sit down at a nice table. The very friendly and non-intrusive service then took our order. There was roast beef and Swabian cream schnitzel, each with spaetzle and a venison ragout with croquettes. Plus a small mixed salad. The roast was on point and very tender, with a delicious sauce. We really enjoyed the dishes and we should also mention the amuse gueule...delicious dip with bread. The menu had interesting Swabian dishes, some with good wine recommendations, which made me want to visit again. We went to the Festival of Lights in the Baroque Castle and next time we're in the area we'll make a reservation to be sure we'll have such delicious food again!

Unfortunately the schnitzel was watery and didn't blow us away. But I really have to praise the service! The price was expensive and unfortunately the food didn't catch us. But it's supposed to be very good, we would test it again. The salad was really tasty.

Here you have to order something Swabian. We had schnitzel with potato and cucumber salad and Maultaschen and meat cakes that were super tasty. Our vegetarians had vegetables/spätzle/corn cakes, they weren't so happy. The vegetables were probably very raw and boring. Overall, the professional service must be highly praised.

We (my wife and I) didn't have a reservation and came to the restaurant on Sunday evening at 6 p.m., of course fully booked. We kindly asked if we could get a table for two, we'll be leaving in an hour. That convinced the waitress, we got a table on the condition that the reserved table would be free an hour later. My wife chose the salad with goat cheese. I had the steak because I couldn't imagine that Black Angus steak was really available in the size around €36 and was prepared to get something else (people in the know know what I mean). The food was more than good, the steak was bigger than expected, exactly twice as big as I expected and it was the finest, the side dishes were great and there was already a treat on the house with homemade food to bridge the waiting time Herb butter. The wine was also from the selection. If I were nearby more often, I would definitely go there again.

The table reservation made over the phone the day before was received very friendly: "Thank you very much for your reservation, see you tomorrow and have a nice day." You don't hear that that often these days. The inn makes a very attractive and well-kept impression from the outside. This impression continues in the guest room. Simple, but pretty and functionally set tables. The staff was also friendly, as they were on the phone. Very nice and accommodating, not intrusive, but always present. If the waiter turns the lid of the glass of beer with the brewery logo onto the lid so that you, as a guest, can see it immediately, then the waitress has a great understanding of the topic of good service. A very good selection of Swabian dishes rounds the whole thing off. We chose the lentils with spaetzle and the tripe with fried potatoes. Both of the best quality and very good taste.

Not a single point of criticism. Everything is done right here! We'll come back with a smile on our faces.

The absolutely most underrated restaurant in Ludwigsburg. The best craftsmanship in Lubu and service as well. You can tell that these are people who are trained in their profession and if they are not, they deserve a degree. Simple German cuisine to perfection.

Nach zwanzig Jahren zu Besuch in Ludwigsburg, mein Wunsch Restaurant Post-Cantz da wo nicht nur der Schwabe zu Hause ist sondern auch meine Erinnerung an etwas feines 😊Traditionelle schwäbische Küche auch mal anders, wo gibt es schon ein Carpaccio von der Schwarzwurst oder einen Ochsenmaulsalat als Vorspeise. Sehr gute Qualität der Speisen dazu auch schöne Weine zur Auswahl, ein sehr aufmerksames Service Team wir haben uns rundum wohl gefüllt.

Were there for the first time today and have never enjoyed Swabian cuisine better. Wonderful and very nice staff.

There were positives and negatives during our visit. 2 of us had the Stuttgart cream schnitzel with cheese spaetzle and for 23.50 the schnitzel was very poor and didn't taste great either. The cheese spaetzle was OK but the value for money wasn't right. The other had a salmon fillet for a whopping 38 euros with tagliatelle and chanterelles which was very expensive. It tasted good but was never worth 38 euros. I've eaten just as good food in other restaurants for 10 euros less. This is very violent. The other dishes tasted good and were also okay in terms of price. Overall, we were hoping for more and won't be coming back. The gap between price/performance is too big. Service was good.

Despite being busy and without a reservation, they were still able to assign us (2 people) a place. The food was really delicious! Both the starters were good but the main courses were really good! (Baked Maultaschen, tripe soup, schnitzel with cheese spaetzle and venison schnitzel with nut spaetzle and salad) We were already too full for dessert. Everything was, I would judge, homemade. I haven't eaten so well in a long time. The price is justified for the quality you get. Thank you very much and a recommendation from us.

The possible stars for rating are not enough for me! The food in this historic restaurant is simply fantastic. From the first bite to the last everything was excellent. The service is also exceptionally good, I don't know if I've ever seen such friendly and attentive employees. Not intrusive, but always in the right place at the right time. Simply too expensive. At these prices everything should be right. But unfortunately it doesn't. The veal schnitzels (breaded and plain) were all dry and a bit tough. There were tendons in the meat of the roast roast and lamb rump.

Schönes gemütliches Restaurant mit schwäbischen Speisekarte. Die Speisen werden nach schwäbischer hausmannsart selbst hergestellt, so waren die Maultaschen etwas sehr leckeres. Wir waren sehr zufrieden, weil auch Gastfreundschaft hier groß geschrieben wird. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen!

Das Essen ist qualitativ und geschmacklich einfach überragend . Egal wann man kommt , das Essen schmeckt immer überragend gut und vorallem auch immer gleich ! Großes Lob an die Herren Buhl und alle involvierten Köche ! Bitte niemals damit aufhören ! Es gibt in Ludwigsburg kein besseres Restaurant mit deutscher Küche, maximal gleichwertig.

Maßlos überbewertet. Das Essen ist eher "okay bürgerlich" statt gut bürgerlich. Für einen Mittagstisch sicher angebracht. Abends sind die Tellergerichte eher enttäuschend. Es wird alles auf einem Teller serviert, die Speisen schwimmen in der Soße und die Beilagen sind aufgeweicht. Schade, dass es in Ludwigsburg trotzdem keine Konkurrenz zu geben scheint, vielleicht wäre das ein Ansporn das Niveau zu heben.

Waren mit Geschäftskollegen zum Essen dort , der Service war hervorragend 😊 Essen kam sehr zügig und war echt lecker. Der Wein war leider nix.

Schwäbische Küche vom feinsten. Die 5-Sterne sind mehr als verdient. Maultaschen in tollen Varianten. Guter schneller und freundlicher Service. Nicht umsonst so gut besucht.

Ich muss sagen, ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen wie im Post-Cantz am Ostermontag. Hochwertige Zutaten, ganz fein zubereitet, toller und sehr freundlicher Service. Traditionell eingerichtete Gaststube. Nichts Aufgeregtes. Sehr gastfreundlich.... Einfach klasse. Ich freu mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch. Nachtrag: der letzte Besuch war eher enttäuschend, sehr flach gewürzt, lieblos angerichtet langweilig…. Da passt Preis/Leistung leider nicht….👎🏻

Das am meisten überschätzte Lokal in Ludwigsburg. Bei uns hat fast nichts an dem Tag geklappt. Auch fühlten wir uns trotz Tischreservierung (hat zuerst auch nicht funktioniert) nicht willkommen.
