A beautiful, rustic, forest-lodge-style restaurant with very friendly and welcoming staff and a large beer garden. The kitchen offers delicious, high-quality home-style cooking. Whether schnitzel, cordon bleu, Maultaschen (swabian pasta), or fresh salad, everything tastes delicious at Weitmann's. This restaurant is an ideal destination for families. There's a huge children's area with a playground and trampoline. All in all, the perfect place for a relaxing break in the countryside!

Very good food and excellent service. A quaint restaurant, somewhat hidden and unfortunately a bit awkward to reach. Perhaps that's precisely why it's an insider tip! A definite recommendation.

We were shortly there only to ask about event location and did not try any food -- but the service and the friendliness of the staff there were over the roof! On one day on not so busy day we will go there and try the food :)

Self-service, friendly owners, the Weitmann family, and staff, large portions, excellent food, children can run around to their heart's content, parking is rather limited

From the moment I walked in, I was into the vibe. The decor is super German, in a good way cozy, warm, and just really inviting. The atmosphere was great. There were groups of younger people, families, couples a really nice mix. It just felt like a place where everyone’s welcome. They’ve got both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside is spacious and, even in the summer, it appears to stay cool which I really appreciated. We were greeted right away by someone named Amore, and his energy was amazing super friendly, upbeat, and just made us feel really welcome. That kind of hospitality is rare, especially in Germany, so it really stood out. He sat us down right away. It was actually our first time there. Service overall was great and the staff was friendly, worked well together, and you could tell they actually liked being there. It felt professional but not stiff, which gave the whole place a relaxed, family friendly vibe. Now the food yumiiii just incredible. I had the schnitzel, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best I’ve ever had in Germany. Super tender, juicy, not greasy at all. My partner had the Rostbraten with Spätzle, and that was also really tasty. Highly recommend this spot. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. I’m already planning to come back here for my birthday. Such a great experience!

We were very disappointed with our visit to Weitmann's Waldhaus. We had to get our own drinks; only the food was brought to us. This wasn't explained to us in a friendly manner, but rather thrown at us in an annoyed manner. The service overall seemed inattentive and unwelcoming, which didn't create a pleasant atmosphere. The food itself was okay, but the service didn't make us feel at ease. For a restaurant with such a beautiful location, we would have expected at least a bit more friendliness and service. It's a shame, but we can't recommend the Waldhaus.

Rather inconspicuous from the outside, a bit out of the way – but a culinary highlight inside! 🍴 Super friendly staff, excellent food, and really large portions. What's especially great: Vegetarians and vegans are also in good hands here. 🌱 The only drawback: The tax advisor advises against tipping with card payments – please shoot him to the moon with a one-way ticket. 🚀🌕 A definite 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Super delicious Swabian food. Friendly, attentive service. Amore takes loving care of the guests. We're always happy to be there and enjoy coming. Dogs are also welcome. The outdoor area is a dream. There's plenty of space and a diverse playground for children.

Very good self-service restaurant. We received a warm welcome and were allowed to choose our seats. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The staff were also very friendly, and our food was brought to us since we were sitting inside. The value for money is very good.

We love coming here with our children because there's a great playground. The Bobby Cars are the best. The food is delicious and plentiful. The staff is always cheerful and friendly, and Amore is also amazing! We just call Weitmann's "Amore" from now on.

Why does a restaurant with a beer garden close during the summer?

I'd gladly go back. Delicious food. Comfortable seating. Major drawback: terrible parking situation. It's best to park at Forsthaus 1 and shop in under 10 minutes.

We had three different dishes. A Cordon Bleu with fries, which tasted fantastic; Königsberger Klopse (a German meatball with meatballs) with rice and salad. The sauce lacked a bit of acidity for my taste, but otherwise it was very good. Finally, we had the Lion Ribs with fries and salad. The ribs were OK, the BBQ sauce was spicy, and the ribs could have been a bit more tender. The portions were large, though, and overall, they represented very good value for money!

A great team who enjoy their work. The food was good, and we didn't have to wait long for it.

Quite nice inside, but unfortunately unbearable outside with the constant announcements of the food delivery numbers over a poor system. We were brought to our table by a very unpleasant man with far too much talking and patting. I've rarely felt so uncomfortable. To top it all off, the food was cold. I'll never go there again. Addendum for anyone who appreciates paid-for leftover food and doesn't want it thrown away: They charge €1 for a cardboard takeaway container. Completely outdated.

Amazing food, great service, and a very pleasant atmosphere. Children can play in front of their parents on the large and, above all, clean playground.

The classic Swabian cuisine leaves nothing to be desired: from spaetzle to onion roast beef to Kaiserschmarrn, everything is there. The fresh, delicious salads were a particularly pleasant surprise. You can sit here for a while, feel comfortable, and it's also child-friendly. All in all, a fun place!

We visited the Waldhaus for the first time last Saturday in glorious summer weather. It's a very large beer garden with plenty of space. You have to get your own food and drinks, but that's not a problem. The Waldhaus isn't a culinary highlight, but it's a decent beer garden.

Cozy restaurant and beer garden next to the tennis courts. Food and drinks can be ordered directly at the cash register. It's self-service. The food is OK, and the seating is comfortable, especially in hot weather under the large umbrellas.

We discovered it by chance on our way to Stuttgart, as we were looking for a place for the kids to let off some steam. And we weren't disappointed. We were immediately greeted warmly by Amore, the friendly gentleman who keeps track of bookings and knows which tables are still free. Orders and payments are made directly at the counter, and drinks are served right away. The food arrived pretty quickly, was hot, and very tasty. There's a children's menu, and the portions were very generous for both. A plus point, of course, was the super friendly service, who constantly asked if everything was okay, as well as the large outdoor area with lots of great play options for the kids.

A very nice, cozy, uncomplicated atmosphere. Very, very friendly service.... There were seven of us guys there for a bachelor party and we were treated like royalty. Great restaurant with a fantastic beer garden. The food is excellent, I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, it's only accessible by car or bus (for those who are lazy on foot), but it's also great for families with children, as they have a great outdoor area to let off steam.

The breading on the cordon bleu was okay. The mushroom cream sauce was okay, and the spaetzle was nothing special. But the service was very friendly and enthusiastic.

Yes, the atmosphere is a bit like a clubhouse, but that's also because the sports fields are right next door. What's really great is that there are great play areas (trampolines, climbing frame, huge sandpit, swings, calisthenics elements, etc.) right next to the seating. In terms of service, Amore is obviously fantastic; he's very friendly, funny, and really knows his stuff. No long waits; after ordering, he'll bring you drinks and hand you a buzzer for your food, which doesn't take long, even if it's for house music. In the adjacent forest in various directions, there are great excursion options (rubble mountain, wild boar enclosure, a little further on, the red deer enclosure and Bärenschlössle, the Heslach waterfalls), playgrounds, and the Heslach forest home isn't far away either, so you can go on lovely hikes and fit in Weitmann's as you please. The costs are absolutely reasonable.

It took too long to wait for food. Probably because of a public holiday and difficulty in obtaining personnel. Only had drinks.

We stopped here after a hike. The day was sunny, the restaurant was very busy, the waiting time was >1 hour, which was communicated to us when we ordered. The portions were large and tasty. The innkeeper Amore welcomes and says goodbye to each guest personally. The location is in the middle of greenery. All in all: absolute recommendation!

We have been to this restaurant many years ago. At that time it was under different management and we were very satisfied. Back then it was always fully booked or there was a closed company. The new owner is not very open-minded and doesn't smile. He's always at the checkout. When “Amore” (an employee who calls himself that and has been there before) sees the guests, he greets them as lovingly as he can. With “Darling, how are you?” "Do you need a special table?" etc... But the contrast comes at the checkout. "What would you like?" "Aside from that?" Incidentally, I noticed a conversation between the owner and a friend or acquaintance in which the boss said that he was disappointed that so few people came today, even though the weather was great. Is the good mood only there when the money is flowing? The food has always been great and very tasty. Nothing has changed! The kids think the playground is great, you can hardly find such a well-kept playground in a restaurant or beer garden!

Amore! This is an absolute hidden gem for families (and others) to experience authentic German cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere with great outdoor play facilities for the little ones. The owner has rock star personality and the team was so welcoming and fun to be around. Extra wishes due to food allergies were accommodated with understanding and no fuss. Have been twice during our stay and we'll be back next time! Danke euch!

Difficult... so far mostly ok to satisfied. This week it was really bad: the fries for the schnitzel were cold, the dressing for the salad was too salty and the carrot salad has definitely seen better days (it shouldn't be served so sour/"tilted" anymore). Pork fillet with hash browns: 1. it wasn't a fillet and 2. it was just tough and 3. it had canned/jar mushrooms. Absolutely disappointing! When asked about this, the (otherwise really nice!) service person only said “ok”. Hopefully it was just a bad day for everyone, we'll give it another try but if it happens again, it'll be the last try.

Unsere Kinder hatten eine tolle Zeit, da es an Spielmöglichkeiten einfach an nichts fehlt. Es ist schön zu sehen, wie sehr hier an die kleinen Gäste gedacht wird. Der Service war überragend – wir fühlten uns von Anfang an wie Stammgäste. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Man merkt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gearbeitet wird. Auch das Essen hat uns alle überzeugt. Die Qualität der Speisen war top, und es war für jeden etwas dabei, egal ob groß oder klein. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können dieses Restaurant allen wärmstens empfehlen, die einen schönen, entspanntes Essen mit der Familie verbringen möchten.
