The food was very tasty, but the service left a lot to be desired. The fish platter we ordered was partly to be prepared without flour, but with breadcrumbs. The waitress initially claimed that this was not possible, even though my friend has a gluten intolerance - a disrespectful attitude. Only after further questioning and pointing out that it had been served this way in the past were two fish prepared accordingly. In addition, no drinks were offered, we had to take them ourselves. The salad we ordered was the wrong one but was still supposed to be paid extra even though we had already paid. In addition, the cutlery was missing for the dips, the salad and the fish platter. When we later ordered tea, it was initially forgotten. The toilets weren't clean, the store was cold, and overall the atmosphere was uncomfortable.

I don't want to add unnecessary repetition to the already plentiful, detailed reviews here. I would just like to offer one thing to help critics, some of whom weren't entirely satisfied with the food, to understand. That in the middle of the Ruhr region—here, teeming with fish-stick eaters with no taste for the taste buds—an ancient freshwater fish farm at a venerable inn can't quite compete with some of the new, Michelin-starred gourmet seafood restaurants on the coast should be clear to any reasonable connoisseur... What is offered here, however—in terms of comfort and friendliness, humor and entertainment, service and professionalism, and, last but not least, large, delicious portions at reasonable prices, in a historic inn with a beer garden or zoo 😉—is hard to find anywhere in the country! Anyone who judges that any fish stall or old Nordsee branch would have been better is saying more about themselves than about this excellently run business. These people should really be focusing on their fish fingers and burgers or making the 400 km journey to their favorite sea fishing grounds... Ahoy!

Always! It's a shame there isn't such a great fish snack bar in our area! But other things like spare ribs and burgers are also amazing 😋

Just throw advertisements in mailboxes that say “ADVERTISING PROHIBITED”!!. The sign doesn't stick on the mailbox for decoration! I ask you not to send your flyers to my mailbox!

The name of the restaurant doesn't do what you expect from it. Charging is absolutely not recommended. Regardless of the fact that there is no service whatsoever, there is no point in eating here at all. The fish is absolutely tasteless. It doesn't taste like fresh fish either. Price-performance ratio is not right at all. Fish tastes like nothing. Regardless, the ambience is a cool indoor atmosphere. Terrible light. It's roughly comparable to a fast food restaurant. Glasses are already on the table in a place where you can give the glasses away. The cutlery served is also there. Owner doesn't do anything except stand behind the counter. What you normally expect when you want to go out for a good meal in the evening is that you can also have a good glass of wine with your fish. For me it's a self-image. But here you only get Fanta water, cola, apple juice. Terrible. You have to take everything out of the fridge yourself. There is a map in the front that you can look at. You also have to pay at the counter. Card payment is not accepted. Cash only. Terrible cold atmosphere. I've never eaten and left a store so quickly. But then you have to pay a total of €65 for two people for this meal. Doesn't fit at all with what you can expect for this money. The criticism of the restaurateur and the concept was rejected. There was only the answer here. I'm fine with the concept. It was also said that people would line up at the door on weekends. So the statement is clear. I don't care at all whether customers like it or not. If I compare this with other fish restaurants in Dortmund, then I can only say it's better to close the door and not serve any more customers

If you want to eat good fish, this shop is the place to do it. Many different types of delicious fish available. Great recommendation and always happy to come here.

Friends, hand on heart, this restaurant is completely overrated. Seafood boil completely oily, extra crab legs ice cold and the meat as if torn. Fresh crabmeat is almost like a shrimp, it was anything but meaty. When I asked the waiter if it was normal that the crab meat was completely icy and of course not eaten, there wasn't even a small refund or a question about whether you should heat it up again, but whether you wanted it wrapped up. Don't be fooled by Tik tok and Instagram videos because you can buy the views as well as the fake reviews, which you can rate here as 5 stars.

Tastes good but very expensive, always enjoyed eating there often, but the prices have risen a lot, I won't come back as often anymore.
