Very tasty fish and a good selection for both fish and fried fish lovers. Very fresh and top quality. The remoulade was exceptionally tasty. You can share the side dish and get, for example, half a portion of fried potatoes and half a portion of rice. However, this costs a €1 surcharge, which we weren't informed about. That was a shame!

I recently visited the Wortberg Salmon Smokehouse and was absolutely thrilled with the quality of the products. I particularly want to highlight the three types of premium fish, which was a real highlight for me. The combination of smoked salmon, mackerel, and herring is simply delicious. Each fish is perfectly balanced in taste and texture – tender, aromatic, and not overpowering in its smoky flavor. The smokehouse itself is also very inviting and demonstrates the passion and craftsmanship behind the products. The service is friendly and competent; you receive advice with attention to detail, and you can rely on the excellent quality. A definite must for any fish lover – you'll get your money's worth here and leave the shop with a smile and the anticipation of your next visit!

The fish was completely frozen, and the rolls were cheap discount rolls. They try to look funny on YouTube, but it completely fails. The quality was really bad, and I would never order anything from there again, even if it were free. A little tip for the owners: stop looking so ridiculous on YouTube and try to get the freshest produce instead.

Today, our waiter, Krespo, served us – and it was simply fantastic! He was very attentive, friendly, and always with a smile. Our orders arrived quickly, and he asked if everything was to our satisfaction. We ordered a variety of appetizers, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It's a shame we can only give 5 stars – I would give even more.

My personal experience with the Wortberg salmon smokehouse's truck I'm currently in the area for rehabilitation. While shopping at Rewe today, I noticed the Wortberg salmon smokehouse's truck. Since I like fried fish, I spontaneously stopped on my bike and ordered some. The employee in the truck was friendly and asked me if I wanted a roll or garlic sauce. However, I was a bit disappointed when he took a frozen portion of fish from the drawer and threw it straight into the fryer. After about five minutes, I received my "fried fish," which looked more like a cheap pollock from the supermarket—unfortunately, not what I would have expected from a fish specialist. The fish tasted okay, but definitely nothing special. I would rate it 2 out of 5 stars. The price of €8.90 (including garlic sauce) was unjustified in my opinion; I would have expected better quality for that amount. I don't mean to disparage the company in any way; this is simply my personal experience. Perhaps I just caught it at a bad time, but unfortunately, for me, it wasn't a visit I would repeat.

We always enjoyed coming here, and to this day, the quality has declined. The herring in cream tasted like it came from a supermarket, the kalimari weren't fresh, and the staff didn't show up after the main course. All in all, "We'll find another fish restaurant."

I had a quick stop there to eat a portion of kibbeling. The price/performance ratio was decent, and the taste was excellent.

I was there for the first time today and was absolutely thrilled. I haven't enjoyed such delicious, juicy smoked cod products in a long time! My wife's cod was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty... It's great that there are still such artisanal businesses. We will be regular visitors from now on. Thank you!!!

I ordered fish online for the first time and I must say the quality is great and everything is fresh, I will get my fish again

I've never eaten eel this good before! I've been a huge eel fan for years and have tried eels in various regions of Germany. But so far, no eel has tasted as good as the eel from the Wortberg salmon smokehouse. And that's not all: I got the eel at a great price! I'm already planning my next stay in Wuppertal and simply can't wait to finally enjoy some delicious eel again.

Friendly, helpful and large selection

Today, like every year, we were at the Matjesfest (Matjes Festival). Great food, and the staff were extremely friendly despite the large number of customers. It's always a dream come true. In our opinion, there's no better fish restaurant. We come here every couple of weeks. Keep it up!

Apart from the unpleasant Asian older lady at the reception, everything was top-notch 👍. The fish was grilled so tenderly. We were very surprised. We'll definitely recommend it to our friends.

Good fish restaurant, including a sushi bar and fish sales

Unfortunately I have to say that I only partly enjoyed it. I first bought something at the front. It was a bit smoked, which was wonderful, not too smoked, so you could still taste a bit of the product. Then I ordered a fried fish sandwich. It was advertised online as 6.50-9.50 or 9.90, so I didn't ask and was surprised when I had to pay 13.90. It wouldn't have been so bad, as it was a baguette, bigger than a bread roll. Unfortunately I was already back on the bus when I tried the fish for the first time. Such a disappointment for the money! The fish didn't have a pinch of salt or any other seasoning, it tasted of absolutely nothing. If I hadn't already been on the bus I would have taken it back, but as I still had to get to Solingen I had no choice but to take it.

The salmon lasagna is highly recommended. A generous portion. It was served with a delicious salad. For dessert, a strawberry cream. The dessert wasn't my favorite.

I ordered takeaway food. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed when I opened the packaging at home...it was very rushed and almost burned. The portions were also very small, and each dish cost €25/€23.

Nice store, nice Facebook ad... But shopping at 7:20 in the morning isn't so easy. The 2-meter counter for fresh fish only had crushed ice, and the smoked fish counter was also missing a few items, and this was before two holidays, when "business" is supposed to be done. And the €9.99 special offer box advertised in every ad wasn't available either. I'll probably only order smoked fish online in the future, because a 40-km drive and a beautiful building with little in it is disappointing... Or they don't open until 10:00 a.m.

We came especially to eat a whole plaice, which is exactly what we ordered. However, we got frozen plaice fillet. It can happen. But the way it's handled... "So what am I supposed to do now, throw it away?", "I think you ordered the wrong thing." What can a guest do if the service is inexperienced? Then they offered to take the drinks off the bill and also get us something small from the bar, only to be rudely told when we went to pay, "No, you'll get something from the bar." The drinks were still on the bill. All in all, a very unpleasant and unfriendly result. As a guest, you're accused of being too stupid to order, are only offered a concession afterward, or are not kept to their word. We won't be coming back like that.

If you like fresh fish, seafood and smoked dishes from the river and sea, you will find a large selection in the shop. Because such foods are now considered delicacies, you have to expect corresponding prices. The goods are excellent. Wines, sparkling wine and champagne as well as suitable spirits for high-quality fish meals can also be purchased in the shop. The journey, from whatever direction, requires a lot of peace and concentration due to construction sites, a downright confusing road network and often heavy traffic. There is a parking lot behind the house - also for customers. Most of the time you will be served in a focused, friendly and calm manner. High customer volume! Take advantage of exceptionally good opening times!

The fresh fish sale is probably ok. That or the restaurants are a bit chaotic. I ordered grilled redfish. The waiter then asked at the table who had the pollack. I said because everyone else had something completely different that I had ordered redfish. Yes, the answer is redfish. But the fish was very flat and the bill said pollack. That wasn't really honest, especially since the grilled fillet wasn't really strong in flavor, like a redfish, but rather flat in taste and appearance. Before I ordered, I asked if the remoularde was a typical one with cucumbers and capers, or a Danish one, which I don't really like. I was then told that it was one that a butcher had been making for Wortberg for 25 years. Such a greenish one. But then it was more Danish. I also heard an apology from the waitresses and waiters at the neighboring tables. So everything doesn't seem to be going smoothly. Things get chaotic, especially when fish and sushi are ordered at the same table

It was honestly really cool, the eel was a delicacy, I got three pieces of it, unfortunately there was no Dubai cheesecake with fish in it, that's my favorite cake, there was a strange Skibidi Rizzler in the toilet but he was nice to me so I watched a little Spiegel documentary with him. Unfortunately they don't have fish flavored cigarettes otherwise it would be 5 stars

That was really delicious. We ordered an eel and a small sample package. There was free fish in a lemon-mint cream sauce. The fish delivered was juicy and well packaged. We were a little skeptical because we ordered it online. We would not have expected such excellent, tasty quality. In any case, we found a new fish shop for ourselves ☺️

Here I share my impression regarding my online order, the prices, as well as the products and the service. Ordering via the online shop is really very easy. The offer is clear, entering the data and selecting the payment method is all done in just a few minutes. The delivery took place 2 days later, with the goods being safely packaged and refrigerated and delivered undamaged with DHL. I can only say one thing about the products: delicious, fresh and really worth every cent. *yes, the prices are perhaps a little higher, but I'm happy to pay a little more for this convincing quality.* In short: Any time...! :-)

All in all a very good fish restaurant. Very good in taste and quality. The portions are a bit small and the prices are on the high side. The service was very friendly and gave us good advice. The shop's fish counter/smoking counter is extensive and looks good too.

The food was excellent and the selection left nothing to be desired. Particularly noteworthy is the bouillabaisse for €7.60 (Wednesdays), which is a real delight with its flavor and taste. The main course – a trio of game fish with grilled vegetables – is also highly recommended. However, there are a few minor weaknesses: the soft drinks from the tap have too little carbonation, and unfortunately when I ordered another drink it didn't arrive. During a stay of 1.5 hours it remained with a Sinalco Zero - which is unfortunate. It would also be desirable to be able to put both cards (salmon smokehouse and sushi) on one bill. Conclusion: Excellent food in a northern German atmosphere, unfortunately with service that still has potential for improvement.

I became aware of the company through a tiktop post and looked around the very user-friendly online shop. The price-performance ratio seemed ok to me so I ordered a small selection of fish variations. Refrigerated shipping under €10 is ok. The delivery was very quick. Appointment delivery is also offered. Communication with the service team was also excellent. I would particularly like to praise Mr. Hoffmann at this point. The quality of the goods is impressive. The smoked eel and tuna pastrami were delicious. I have rarely eaten such good fish. I will definitely order again. Highly recommended.

I ordered a colorful mix of smoked fish and fresh salads. The goods arrived at our home in perfect condition and very well chilled. I particularly liked the small salmon rolls with cream cheese. We will definitely be ordering again for the holidays.

Delicious food in a beautiful ambience with extremely friendly and humorous service. Time from order to main course was about 40 minutes, it was quite busy for a Monday. A soup as a starter doesn't hurt, it's also very tasty.

It couldn't be any fresher. I had a sushi mix that had nothing to complain about. Where can you get Suhsi directly from a fish smokehouse? In the front room you have to be prepared to smell like smoked fish after your visit. Therefore a star deduction for the ambience.

We were guests at Wortberg today. The boss served us. Everything was great. The restaurant was packed, and of course there was a wait to eat. The quality of the food and the friendliness of the service were all super good, but you're happy to wait a bit. Finally, our dog got freshly smoked salmon and we got a delicious raspberry speculoos on the house. We have been coming here for years and will be happy to come back again and again in the future.

Nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We originally wanted to make a reservation, but were then directed to the homepage on the phone, but unfortunately it didn't work there. Sushi from Sakura Sushi came quickly, the fried fish from the salmon smokehouse took forever. Stupid, then one person was finished before the other even got anything. Unfortunately only a vegetarian meal - the focus is clearly on the fish, but as a vegetarian accompanying person I would have hoped for more than a vegetarian burger. Well, therefore not full marks. It is a dream to see the love with which the employees prepare the fresh food. Our order was carried out very quickly and to our complete satisfaction. The fish is a poem and also e.g. The sweet potato fries are Great. Even in busy times, the staff is still in the mood for a bit of fun. Our “Tik Tok Star” also took the time to talk to us. All in all it was a very successful stay. Thanks for that.
