We visited Mama Africa for the first time yesterday and were thrilled. Very friendly and the food was incredibly tasty. We'd love to come back!

A restaurant with a typical African ambience in terms of service and atmosphere. Very nice staff, very tasty food. One or two dishes can also be eaten with your hands. Bowls for washing hands will be provided beforehand. ! Info! Some of the sauces are very spicy and the “soups” like those on the menu are more like sauces for Europeans. This can lead to confusion. I found the fried plantain as a starter very tasty! 💕 Your owner is a very lovely woman!

Very good fufu with okra sauce, egusi, jollof rice. Relaxed atmosphere, very friendly service.

People. I’m telling you this is on of the hidden gems we have in Wuppertal. Mama Africa provides amazing REAL African cuisine. From Nigerian Jollof Rice to Puff Puff or FUFU they have it all. We had the fufu and the Jollof rice. Both were excellent and served in very large portions. The location is a bit out of the way, but it is well worth the walk.

I come from Unna especially to eat here. It's just mega! Atmosphere and food is really good! I don't think you can eat that well in all of North Rhine-Westphalia when it comes to African food. Mama Africa fits perfectly.

Look no further, you have found the place!! The most delicious & authentic west african (nigerian) food you can get in the whole of NRW! Anytime I go there I must order in bulk and take away. Tastes just like home! For german speaking: 10/10 - ich kann nur wärmsten empfehlen.

Mama Africa in Wuppertal is a real experience. With fresh preparation and authentic flavors, the restaurant offers a delicious selection of West African dishes. From tender beef with African spices to fluffy fufu, crispy chicken drumsticks and spicy spinach leaves on the side - every meal is a feast for the taste buds. The dessert, freshly homemade Puff Puff (similar to our curd dumplings only not as sweet) rounds off the culinary experience perfectly. The restaurant scores points with me for its simplicity, authenticity and warmth. In short: Mama Afrika offers a treat for the palate and is always a pleasure

We ate there for the first time today - fufu with egusi and peanut soup as well as beans and plains, as well as fried rice It was incredibly delicious!!! We'll definitely come back and try some more food! It was super fresh and the owners were very, very friendly! Thank you for that :-)

Super delicious! Service was absolutely great. I had fufu with groundnut soup, my husband had fufu with egusi and beef. It was so delicious that we took some to take home with us. We will probably make the trip from Leverkusen more often from now on :)

My partner and I went to Mama Africa today and ordered the jollof rice with fried chicken, fufu with peanut soup, fried plantains and puff puff. Apart from the fact that the young gentleman who served us was extremely nice and personable, I have to say that the food was also excellent! We highly recommend Mama Africa! A great experience and above all, we will be back 🌸

We had dinner there this afternoon. Really delicious food cooked with love and served with love. Everything was perfect. Really authentic African cuisine and we recommend giving it a try. Despite the distance, we will now eat there more often. Big praise to the friendly cook and the nice waiter. We thank you for the delicious afternoon. Keep doing exactly that.

Meine Freundin und ich waren hier das erste mal vor circa 6 Monaten essen. Seitdem fahre ich circa ein mal im Monat extra aus Münster nach Wuppertal um das leckere Essen abzuholen. Die Besitzerin und der jüngere Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Essen schmeckt unfassbar gut. Viele Grüße Uche & Lars

It was very delicious. The service was really nice and explained things about the food and Africa. We were there as a group and got a buffet to try the different dishes.

Es war sehr lecker. Sehr netter Service. Es wird alles erklärt was auf der Speisekarte steht und nach dem Schärfegrad gefragt. Es ist authentische Küche, soweit ich das beurteilen kann. Es riecht schon beim Betreten sehr interessant und auch fremd. Die Gewürze im Essen sind für den deutschen Geschmack fremd, aber sehr lecker. Die Portionen sind groß, wir haben uns den Rest einpacken lassen. Die Einrichtung ist älterer Imbissstyle mit afrikanischem Einfluß. Wir werden auf jeden Fall noch einmal dort essen.

Unglaublich leckeres Essen, die Besitzer sind ebenfalls super freundlich. Die Preise sind tatsächlich unverschämt niedrig, bei der Qualität könnte man durchaus mehr verlangen. Wir werden wieder kommen!! Danke für den schönen Abend.

Sehr leckeres und authentisches Essen des Landes.

Sehr spannendes Erlebnis. Wir würden gut beraten was unserem Gaumen so schmecken könnte, dementsprechend lecker war es auch.

Der Fisch war superlecker, hat nur leider sehr lange gebraucht (1 stunde). Den Fisch habe ich mit Reis als Beilage bestellt, da ich nicht wusste was alles andere ist (ich bin auch ein großer Reisfan, vondaher). Der Rest meines Tisches dann was anderes. Die Yams fand ich jetzt nicht grade lecker, dafür war die Kochbanane das absolute Highlight (ich kann bei Yams ind Kochbanane keine vergleiche ziehen, also hier nur der Ersteindruck beider Produkte). Bestellungen ohne scharf waren ohne scharf. Wenig scharf war schon scharf, aber immernoch lecker. Auch das ganz scharfe konnte man essen (es war noch eine roto soße mit auf dem Teller, die wirklich sehr scharf war (beim essen bewusst weg gelassen, wers mag). Man konnte Cola sogar als flasche bestellen, da können einige sich ein Beispiel dran nehmen. Für 3,50 die Flasche (1 liter) ist es sogar (für im Restaurant) ein sehr guter Preis.

Unglaublich lecker. Waren heute zum zweiten Mal hier, es schmeckt unvergleichlichbar gut. Ihr habt keine Lust auf das 0815 Restaurant um die Ecke? Ihr wollt Mal kurz weg aus eurem bestell Alltag, dann geht hier hin! Alle sind freundlich, das Essen ist zum Finger lecken gut, es bleibt kein Knopf mehr zu. Echter Geheimtipp, super Preis Leistungs Verhältnis.

Sehr gute afrikanische Küche. Bin froh, endlich die Richtige gefunden zu haben. Auf jeden Fall kommen wir wieder um uns durch zu probieren. Egusi war sensationell. Einzig die Behälter für take away könnten überdacht werden (verformen sich).

Das Essen war super, die Bedienung freundlich und hat auch Sonderwünsche aufgenommen. Dazu ist es auch noch günstig.

Ich habe zum ersten Mal afrikanisch gegessen und war positiv überrascht! Fufu mit Hähnchenfleisch und Erdnusssoße war super lecker. Ich werde jetzt häufiger dort essen und auch andere Gerichte ausprobieren. Ich kann jedem, der sowas noch nicht gegessen hat, nur empfehlen seinen kulinarischen Horizont zu erweitern.

Das Essen war einfach top. Fragen zu den Gerichten können zwar mäßig gut beantwortet werden, aber wir wurden tatkräftig beraten. Am besten hat uns das Fufu mit einer würzigen Suppe geschmeckt. Die Ausstattung ist vielleicht etwas in die Jahre gekommen, dafür war das Essen aber umso besser. Kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!

Bestes Fufu mit Erdnusssoße & Vegetables, was wir je gegessen haben! Ich habe vor 20 Jahren im Ausland als Austauschschülerin fast täglich die afrikanisches Küche genießen dürfen und habe hier zurück in Deutschland immer wieder diverse afrikanische Küchen ausprobiert, aber keine war so delicious und authentisch wie Mama Africa! Zu guter Letzt sehr höfliches & aufmerksames Personal!

Erstmalig afrikanisch Essen gewesen. Beeindruckend und extrem lecker. Inhaber / Bedienung super freundlich, in der Form sogar noch nie in Thailändischen Restaurants erlebt. Es wird genau erklärt, was die einzelnen Gerichte sind, es wird empfohlen oder abgeraten je nachdem wie man sich selber einschätzt. Ich komme definitiv so schnell wie möglich wieder. Empfehlenswert ist aus meiner Sicht Beef Dodo, selten so etwas leckeres gegessen. Preis-Leistung auch sehr gut, im Grunde sehr günstig sogar, lasst am besten etwas mehr Trinkgeld da. Vielen Dank an die Inhaber!

Authentic Nigerian cuisine. Eguisi with fish and Pounded yam, Jolof rice with fish and plantains, Groundnut soup/ Okra soup and Pounded yam. Thank you Mama Africa. We shall definitely return.

Sehr sauber und köstliche Speisen….für alle die 100 Jahre alt werden möchten, es gibt nichts gesünderes als die Afrikanische Küche.

Sehr gute afrikanische Küche, Die Gerichte haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Betreiber des Lolales sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Preis Leistung Verhältnis ist sehr gut. Das Ambiente könnte noch mehr in Richtung Afrika ausgerichtet werden, daher hier nur 3 Sterne. Diese Manko wurde durch einen Sonderwunsch bei den Getränken wieder mehr als wieder gut👍gemacht. Wer gute afrikanische Küche mag und beim Ambiente einen kleinen Abstrich macht ist hier gut aufgehoben.
