Ricks Vis en Vlees in Gronau (Westf.)

I ordered kibbeling from you today for €9.95. It was five pieces and a small salad from a jar, which isn't normal for that price. I think it was a children's menu. I asked if this was normal, but I didn't get much response. I've had much more elsewhere for that price. I've eaten here before and have always been satisfied, but today it was very poor.

Friendly service, delicious fish, and newly expanded seating. Check it out and give it a try. It's worth it.

Delicious, large portion of fried cod or fried fish, along with delicious fries. The salad could use a little more mayo, but I managed just fine!

What a clean restaurant! A friendly and welcoming welcome. After ordering, the food was neatly served on the terrace. Kibbling menu and "happie jappie" (a snack). If I had to give them a rating, we'd give them a solid 9 out of 10. Delicious. Hats off to the staff, we really enjoyed it. See you next time. 👌🏻

A lovely little restaurant on the German-Dutch border, just before Wolters. We had the Kibbeling menu there. Plenty to fill you up. The price was great. Fish has become more expensive, but it tastes all the better for it. The staff speaks German and Dutch and is very friendly. The food is brought to the table, and the portions are very generous. The restrooms are also very clean. You can sit outside or inside, which is very pleasant, especially in nice weather. The people in the photo have been removed using AI to bring the food and ambiance to the foreground.

Beautiful location, delicious food – but the service is seriously subpar! We came here with high expectations because of the lovely terrace and the cozy atmosphere inside. Unfortunately, the experience was significantly dampened by the service, which was simply terrible. Upon arrival, no waiter came to our table. We had to pick up the menu from the cash register and place our order there ourselves. Drinks weren't served at the table; we had to bring them from the cash register ourselves. When I asked if I could have drinks with my meal (because of the wasps), it wasn't possible. The food itself was delicious and the ambiance is definitely a plus, but if you value hospitality and table service, this restaurant is unfortunately not recommended. If there was an option to give a negative rating for service, I would.

The food was okay, but extremely overpriced! 5 euros for a small fries is pretty steep. The kibbelings were okay, but not worth the 10 euros.

I didn't find it particularly special; it's a nice concept, but I don't necessarily need to go back. You have to wait a long time to place your order, and then it takes a while for it to arrive. The food was fine, of course, but you can also get good fish at other places.

I always enjoy coming here. I eat there, but also pick up. The quality is very good. What I like about it is that it's not a typical fried fish restaurant; the menu offers much more! I've tried many things and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, there's no table service. Unfortunately, the waiter is often alone at the counter. Therefore, ordering can take a while during busy times. So be patient and take your time. The atmosphere is very nice. ❤️

It was very tasty, a large portion at a good price. You order up front and go to your table, and the food is brought to you quickly. However, there was only one ordering counter manned...the lady was very nice and friendly, although you had to wait forever for each drink. Otherwise, a nice atmosphere and delicious!

There are delicious fish dishes here. Ideal for rest during tours along the NL/D border. Special feature: the national border runs through the middle of the restaurant. "The fork is in D, the knife in NL"

Went to eat on location. (Evening meal) Order yourself at the counter. And they bring the food to the table. Food is good, and certainly not small portions. Good fresh fish, lots of choice, delicious salad. Nice detail, in one part of the store you are in the Netherlands, in the other part in Germany. Boundary runs through the case.

Turned out super nice after the renovation!!! We always liked coming here because it tasted so good and was cozy... Now the restaurant has got an even cooler style. It has become more modern. The furnishings are very good and unusual. There is now a bar in the entrance area and a fireplace in the back area. The toilets have also been modernized. The food is still just as great as usual. The portions are huge and the prices are clear! The homemade celery salad is super delicious!!! It's always worth the long drive. Soooo good. Orders are taken at the front and then brought to the table. The entire staff is very friendly and always in a good mood....

What a nice place to settle down! This fish restaurant radiates warmth and luxury. The interior is clean and tidy, and the staff is incredibly friendly. From the moment you enter, you immediately feel welcome and at ease. The menu is impressively extensive and offers something for everyone. What really stands out are the beautiful photos with each dish. This gives a very clear picture of what you can expect and makes the choice extra attractive. I haven't seen anything like this anywhere else! Even if you are not a fan of fish, there are plenty of delicious alternatives on the menu. The food itself is truly of top quality. We thoroughly enjoy it every time, and at the end we always take extra herring home with us. It is without a doubt the best in the entire region, far beyond Enschede. It is even a reason for us to make a special detour. Highly recommended! If I may suggest a few points for improvement: the ordering method could be a little more practical. Now you first look at the menu at the table, then walk to the counter to place your order, and take your drinks with you. It would be nicer if orders were taken at the table or if there was an option to place your order via a QR code from the table with your own phone or order with an available tablet from the restaurant itself. That would make the whole thing even more pleasant. In addition, parking is sometimes a challenge. It is often difficult to find a seat, probably due to the popularity of the restaurant. All in all, this remains a fantastic place that I highly recommend. The delicious food, the nice atmosphere and the excellent service make this fish restaurant absolutely worth it!

We were there for lunch. I found the selection very good and appealing. My father had the fried fish menu, which was really delicious! I accidentally ordered surimi shrimp, i.e. fake shrimp 😅. I think that was worded a bit misleadingly on the menu, where they were labeled “Large Shrimp”. I thought it was a shame, I would have preferred real shrimp or fried fish if I had known 🙄. I would still come back and then order the right thing :)

I've eaten here so many times and the quality is always the same. The prawns taste meaty, not too tough. The fries are a little dry, but always well seasoned. They recently renovated it and everything looks so cozy now. The cardboard containers for the sauces are impractical. There's a lot left behind that's difficult to scrape out.

Good air and smell despite the open kitchen. Today I bought spare ribs to take away. These were in a folding cardboard packaging. Unfortunately, this box was open at the bottom, so I now have a big stain on the car seat. Very annoying! A plastic bag or a note would have been useful.
