The Behnecke Restaurant is a successful hotel restaurant in the heart of Bad Harzburg. The dining room is beautifully and stylishly furnished, the menu has something for every taste and the preparation of the food is top notch! All in all, the Behnecke restaurant is recommended. The only thing that spoiled our visit was the trout pool at the entrance. This is simply no longer appropriate these days and the tank was relatively overcrowded for its size, the fish had no freedom of movement and had to swim against the glass the whole time without moving forward. It was obvious to the animals that they were stressed. This kind of attitude is pure animal cruelty. If a 4 star hotel wants to advertise with fresh fish, that's great, but keeping the animals in such a way that death is like redemption is sad. In the next few years, this will deter rather than impress younger people in particular. That's why we only give it 3 stars, in addition to a good product on the plate, respectful treatment of the animal is important, which dies for this. This should be standard especially in higher priced restaurants like this one.

A simple request to leave the onions out of the schnitzel? Impossible! Supposedly “not feasible” – like having to reinvent an entire menu. Something like that is just lazy and customer-unfriendly. The absolute highlight came at the end: We wanted to point out the bad experience to the restaurant management - but instead of even beginning to address it, she walked away without saying a word. Zero interest in customer feedback, zero decency, zero professionalism. Conclusion: Good food doesn't help if the management is incompetent. Service is a foreign word here. If you would like to be ignored and insulted, this is the right place for you. Definitely never again!

Very nice restaurant in Bad Harzburg. The owner knew almost all the customers and made the atmosphere very cozy. The fish platter was great. I highly recommend it....also the house wine...

Went to this Italian restaurant for the first time today, were served very nicely and were quickly provided with drinks, and the food was also prepared quickly.
