Salz & Seele in Bad Harzburg

If you want to ruin your day, then you've come to the right place! I first wanted the rösti, but was told they were pre-made from the freezer. I then ordered the mushrooms in cream sauce, but specifically stated "NO WHITE WINE." The order came quickly, and just as quickly, I felt palpitations because the sauce contained alcohol. Since I haven't drunk alcohol for 10 years and am also taking medication, I noticed it right away. On top of that, it didn't taste good at all. In fact... When I spoke to the waitress, she said, "That's my fault, I didn't tell the kitchen." I just wanted it taken away, wanted to pay, and leave. A few minutes later, the chef came and swore to me that there was no alcohol in it, BECAUSE HE COOKED IT HIMSELF AND DIDN'T PUT ANYTHING IN IT!!!! Even though the menu says this dish is "with white wine," what's the issue? Does the customer pay for what's not in it? After a brief, but rather rude and loud discussion, it was "taken off my bill" and I only paid for the drink. Apparently, no one is reliable.

We were at your place a few days ago and were very satisfied. The Thai curry with coconut was delicious! I would also recommend putting salt and pepper shakers on the table 🙂

The atmosphere was quite nice, but the chef wasn't. We ordered something to eat, and our order was taken by the kitchen with the friendly remark, "Do they all have to eat another currywurst now?" :) You really feel at home there. At least the service was super friendly.

The food was delicious and the location next to the thermal baths is fantastic. Unfortunately, the young employee was unprofessional and unfriendly! They didn't want to give us an outside table for my mother's birthday, even though the supposedly reserved spot remained empty for over an hour. Furthermore, we weren't allowed to move the tables easily, so our family had to sit at two different tables. This is unacceptable, and the manager should address this behavior.

Very friendly and fast staff. The boiled beef is super tender, the horseradish sauce is just right—not too strong or too mild. The vegetables are heartily seasoned, and the potatoes are just as they should be. The mushroom pan with fresh mushrooms is delicious. Grilled rump steak with chanterelle mushrooms. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium-rare, and the mushrooms were fresh and crispy. The ice cream comes from a factory in Basel and tastes really good, too. The restaurant manager takes time for a few personal words. All in all, we were extremely satisfied. I'll definitely be back soon.

Absolute disaster... Regarding the service: When you come out of the thermal baths, you go there wearing a swimsuit or a towel. The staff whispers while staring at you... then the gentleman comes to the table to point out that you should put something over your shoulders! So you do, and yet they continue to complain about visitors in swimwear! If thermal bath guests are such a problem, then please make it clear that you can only come fully dressed! You felt completely uncomfortable, unwanted, and, above all, watched! Regarding the food: I don't know if it was pasta in tomato sauce or pasta in tomato soup, but the taste was really bad! €2 extra for a bit of cheese on top?! Which they then forgot to put on! The nuggets were between dark brown and the edges were black... absolutely dry! For fries and nuggets, you got half a Kinder Surprise egg with mayo and ketchup... The only tasty thing was the rösti with fruit and applesauce! All in all, we absolutely can't recommend it! The spa/sauna should open its own restaurant!

We first stopped in on a warm Saturday afternoon for a cold drink and a portion of fries, which we enjoyed outside in the shade by the Radau River. A few days later, we treated ourselves to boiled beef and a pan of mushrooms. All delicious and freshly prepared. For dessert, we had delicious, locally produced ice cream. The seating inside is also very comfortable. The service was quick, attentive, and very friendly.

I have to give the staff a huge compliment. You feel like home. ...You... That's how I want it, that's how I feel. Thank you for letting me get to know you 👍😂😘

As holidaymakers in beautiful Bad Harzburg we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant "Salz und Seele" is highly recommended. The service was polite and attentive, the food was excellent, and as a guest you get a good feeling of being "warmly welcomed" - we would be happy to return!

I just stopped in with my 1-year-old daughter and my wife. The food is delicious and the prices are good, the selection is excellent for a bistro, and the staff are very attentive. I have to say, the current 4.2 stars are, in my opinion, well-deserved, and I hope to see a 4.5 soon.

Somehow the expectations are low when you go out to eat “in” a thermal spa. Here you will be surprised. The restaurant in the same building as the thermal baths offers very tasty food. We've been there many times now. Whether tarte flambée, potato rosti with salmon or classic currywurst - everything was very tasty and neatly prepared. Fresh cakes and tarts complete it completely. Drinks are carefully selected, including draft beer. The service is very friendly. Also suitable for the little ones, there are two children's chairs. The outdoor area is now also open. The prices are within reason.

We were at Salz & Seele today. They served surprisingly delicious tarte flambée and pork medallions. The medallions were of varying thickness and therefore cooked to varying degrees. We sent the thicker piece back to the kitchen to be refried. The chef personally returned with a completely fresh, new plate and an apology. Neither was necessary, but the quality of the food and service impressed us immensely. Respect!

I feel comfortable, you can sit there comfortably, drink whatever you want and eat. When you eat, your eyes eat, it's beautifully presented and it tastes very good! As I noticed, two new dishes are offered every day. And the employees are great. Warm and friendly so that you feel really comfortable!!

We ate here while visiting the thermal baths. The fries were crispy and delicious, as was the tarte flambée. The service was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long (Friday afternoon).

The restaurant is simply great. The food is very tasty. The environment next to the thermal baths is also okay. In summer you can sit outside and enjoy the nearby park.

I've been going to the thermal baths for 30 years, but I haven't been there for a long time and was actually thinking more about the food from the old "coffee/snack bar"... Well, my expectations were far exceeded! The food was really good, everything was cooked to perfection and the cuisine was really fresh! There's no trickery with the sauce either, the kitchen does everything right! ❤️ No 5 stars for the ambience because it's simply due to the circumstances. But if you consider that it is in the entrance area of ​​the thermal baths and that you get great food and great service here, you can easily ignore it. And above all, the prices are absolutely fair, there is absolutely nothing to complain about. We'd love to come back!

As guests of the sauna, we were here for coffee in the afternoon and ate a delicious peach Melba cake. Because we received such a friendly welcome and service here, we decided to eat here in the evening too. That was absolutely the right decision :) We had pike perch and pork fillet with rösti. It was excellent.

We were just at the Salz & Seele restaurant with friends and were thrilled! We ordered tarte flambée, pork and potatoes, goulash and cake, and everything was delicious. The food was consistently excellent! The staff is friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is clean and cozy. Absolutely recommended – you should definitely eat here!

Hardly a selection of drinks, but a longer waiting time to order. Staff available but not interested or trained. So it's better to walk on for 5 minutes after the thermal baths...

Modernly furnished and good selection of food. The portions are very large and the food is really tasty. The service is nice, but could be a little more attentive and actively ask for food or drink requests, even after the first drink. Fresh food preparation is of course very good, but it's a shame if you, as a guest of the swimming pool restaurant, have to spend a total of an hour there, which of course depends on your bathing time. Overall, a delicious visit with room for improvement.

Totally positively surprised. Stopped there straight after visiting the thermal baths. Thai curry and tarte flambée top price/performance and so is the staff. Definitely planned for your next visit.

The name is awesome! It is also furnished with a bit of soul. Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of service and enjoyment.

I checked the Google reviews and wasn't disappointed. Modernly furnished, very friendly and personal service, good selection of food (tasty tarte flambée + pasta), homemade lemonade. Prices ok. Gladly again.

I tried rainbow trout with asparagus, hollandaise sauce, potatoes and salad (daily special) - it was very tasty.

The staff used to walk past you, but now the service is good again. We often stop here with the hiking group; I like the daily offers.

For me, my first impression of a swimming pool restaurant was a total surprise and I went back to eat there the next day. The food was also something different, there were currywurst fries but also mega delicious bowls made with a lot of love, good portions and simply good value for money. Unfortunately the vacation was over otherwise I would have come the third day and treated myself to the Champion Bowl. Stay like that, it was very tasty with you

Very, very good range of food with a reasonable price-performance ratio. The pork fillet with the rösti was excellent, although almost a bit cheap for such a portion. You wouldn't expect such a creative and varied menu in a thermal spa with such great quality. I would eat here again at any time!

See friendly and attentive waiter. The bistro can be visited from the thermal baths or directly. The food tasted good and the portions were generous.

Super friendly staff. After the sauna infusion there is a lot for the staff to do. With engraving you have a good overview of everything and can get to you quickly.

Sehr kalt und zügig, daß Personal sehr bemüht, allerdings funktionierte die Kartenzahlung nicht. Currywurst zu teuer, zumal eine nur fingerdicke Wurst, Currysoße geschmacklich nicht überzeugend, die Servicerung in bowls ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, die Getränke sind mal was anderes, aber sehr süß, da belasse ich es lieber bei Mineralwasser. Aber alles sehr sauber und modern. Beim nächsten Mal versuche ich die Salate, vielleicht werde ich davon überzeugt. Aber man muß sich auch einmal auf etwas Neues einlassen. Ob es persönlich gefällt ist, ist jedem selbst überlassen.

Super freundlich und sehr leckeres Essen, es wird alles frisch zubereitet und man muss auch nicht lange warten. Sehr umsichtiges Personal und immer mit einem Lächeln. Preise sind auch ok.

Ein sehr gutes astronomisches Erlebnis! Der Service ist vorzüglich und die Speisekarte ausgewählt! Was dann serviert wird, ist für das Auge und dem Geschmack ausgezeichnet. Zusätzlich gibt es sehr gute IPA Biere aus Braunschweig.

Das Essen war fantastisch, ich komme gerne wieder her.🥰

Wie ich heute bedient wurde vom Kellner, fand ich unhöflich. Jeder Schritt ist ihm offensichtlich zuviel, Aus diesen Grund und sein Auftreten kann ich nur 3 Sterne geben. Da muss ich sagen, dass das junge weibliche Personal freundlich und zuvorkommend ist und der Kollege sich mal ein Beispiel nehmen sollte oder den Beruf wechselt.

Virkelig god mad og fantastisk betjening. Personalet var meget flinke og forståelige. Super godt sted. Wirklich gutes Essen und toller Service. Das Personal war sehr nett und verständlich. Super guter Ort.

Gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken, schneller Service.

„Salz und Seele“ ist das beste Restaurant in Bad Harzburg, was noch nicht viel ist, da es nicht so viele Restaurants in dem kleinen Örtchen gibt. Aber es ist auch für ein Lokal in/an einer Therme (was es ja oft gibt) das beste, in dem wir waren und einfach auch so sehr hochwertig. Zu einem echt fairen Preis gibt es hochwertiges Essen lecker und innovativ zubereitet. Die Speisekarte ist liebevoll gemacht, der Service ist super und die Aussicht bei den aussenplätzen sehr schön. Es ist einzig innen sehr feucht/warm aufgrund der Therme, aber dafür gibt es dann die besagten Aussenplätze. Wirklich toll!

Sehr entspannte Atmosphäre, freundliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeiterin, das Essen absolut hervorragend. Beim nächsten Besuch in Bad Harzburg gerne wieder.

Super leckeres Essen und nette Bedienung. Ein Abstecher (auch für nicht Therme-Gäste) lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.

Salz & Seele ist eines der besten Restaurants, die ich je besucht habe. Ambiente ist top, wunderschöne beleuchtete 3D Pflanzenbilder, schöne moderne Einrichtung Service alle Mitarbeiter sind unglaublich freundlich zuvorkommend und gut gelaunt. Ich merke, sie machen gern ihre Arbeit Angebot ist top, verschiedenste kulinarische Genüsse aus mehreren Ländern, super lecker und frisch gekocht. Wir waren an einem Tag gleich 3x dort. Besonders das Thai Curry hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Preis Leistung ist sowas von top. Ich würde dort jederzeit wieder mit Genuss hingehen

Die Currywurst war geschmacklich gut, aber mit knapp 10 Euro deutlich zu teuer. Die Hipster-Cola hat nicht geschmeckt, war aber leider alternativlos. Es war sehr kalt im Bademantel, da der Eingangsbereich zur Therme ohne Türen gestaltet ist. Nicht wieder.

Das Essen steckt sehr gute und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett .
