Harz Hotel & Spa Seela in Bad Harzburg

We stayed at the hotel for a 3 day stay. We were welcomed very warmly and we had no complaints about the staff's performance throughout the entire period. However, the house itself is getting old. The bathroom looks gloomy and the mattress was clearly sagging. The passage to the room through the bar and restaurant after 10 p.m. also takes some getting used to. The staff had to take the same route with their bags and luggage. We found that to be a rather unfortunate solution. Not that the staff bothered us, we just felt sorry for the employees who had to fight their way through the breakfast people. One should assume that there are now staff-friendly and back-friendly measures. Also, the elevator is a bit scary, not the elevator itself, but the noises that come from it. The toilet in the basement also spreads a very unpleasant smell in the stairwell. We easily went everywhere using public transport.

Not so pretty from the outside, but don't be fooled. It's beautiful from the inside and you immediately feel at home.

Overall we had a nice weekend at the hotel. The buildings are getting old, but have been modernized except for the staircase, hallways and bathroom. Everything clean. Breakfast was great. And the operation is also simply great. I can't say anything about dinner, we ate in town. But you have a huge disadvantage if you have a room in house 1. The path to the spa and swimming pool leads through the middle of the restaurant. We found it very uncomfortable to walk through a restaurant in bathrobes. On the way back on Saturday evening we even crossed the dance floor of the disco. Not nice.

Basically not recommended. First of all, it must be said that all the staff were very friendly and helpful. But in general the hotel remained in the late 60s. The view from the outside is super bad. We stayed at Seela this weekend and were basically happy with everything. The food, both breakfast and dinner, were very tasty. Breakfast is a buffet, dinner was a mix of menu and a la carte choices. The breakfast is rather hearty with lots of sausage, meat, bacon etc. but the quality was good here too. On Saturday evening there was DJ night which was really great. Great music, great atmosphere. Visually, you have to say that the hotel is very old. From the outside you get a shock at first. The lobby has been modernized and looks very chic. The rooms were ok but they also urgently need to be renovated and renovated. Very old bathrooms, the balcony was very old and partly already covered with broken tiles. The swimming pool also seems rather run down and doesn't really invite you to relax. Internally and especially externally you should take it up a notch. The location, however, is great. A hiking trail starts directly from the hotel and a gondola or hiking trails (treetop path) start 300m into the village. I also find the information about parking spaces on the hotel website a bit misleading. There is a garage, but you can only enter it after you have checked in and received your chip. Otherwise there is only one public parking lot next door, also for a fee. Free parking spaces are not immediately available. Despite everything, we had a lovely family weekend.

It was a great stay, me and my best friend (with two dogs) really enjoyed our time. We were very lucky with the room - on the top floor with a nature view (maybe a little noisier if the room faces the street). The proximity to beautiful natural places is also ideal! The sauna offerings in the hotel itself were excellent and, despite it being a weekend, there was a lot of time alone in the saunas. Hope to come back soon and try more. And all the staff are very friendly, accommodating and even allowed us a late checkout when we asked, for which we are very grateful. See you next time! The way it is decorated inside is surprising, something you wouldn't have expected from the outside facade. Positively surprised. Breakfast was also a big surprise, no wish remained unfulfilled! Room was pleasantly cool, comfortable pillows! The sinks in the room were very small, you couldn't really wash there. No hygiene bag/trash can. There was a top coffee machine but no tea. The room was a bit too small for me. Rituals products were great everywhere & the skin sauna area was wonderfully comfortable, especially the velvet loungers, drinks & a fresh air room were great. We were missing another towel on site. The fitness room is spacious and offers almost everything for a complete workout, one piece of equipment was broken. The location of the hotel is perfect for all the great hikes! Price/performance good about 100/the N.

Quiet hotel with many opportunities for relaxation. We hardly used the spa area because we were mostly hiking in the Harz Mountains. It's right on the main street with a bus stop right outside the door. There are two large parking spaces right next door, but they are cheap (€1 per hour). From the outside the hotel looks very old, but inside everything is modern and the rooms are apparently being renovated little by little. The cheap rooms probably still have an old bathroom. Price-performance ratio was perfectly fine and, above all, everything was clean! If you want to sleep with the window open at night, you should definitely book a room facing the forest. The staff is friendly, what we personally liked best was that everything was dog-friendly. The in-house restaurant has a modern design, but still has a cool 70s flair. However, the food is so-so. We'll definitely be back.

The location of the hotel, the service, the food and the rooms were super good. However, I gave my girlfriend a relaxing wellness vacation, which was more than sad. The feeling of wellness does not come from music or smells. We walk through a cold stairwell where we are greeted by an overcrowded swimming pool with blocked loungers, no background noise and unfortunately no privacy. Behind the next door is a living room-like room with no music or scent, just a small sauna that I know from private households. We hope the outside area is at least nice, there are 2 old porch swings here and it is very mossy and uncomfortable, in the back area there is a sauna for realistically 3 people with a view of a mossy yard and a tarpaulin. The hotel and its service were really great, but we absolutely didn't get what we were after. We then drank wine and talked in the room, but we could have done that at home. It's a shame and unfortunately the photos aren't realistic.

Nice hotel in the Harz. For the price I would have expected more. Room service only after 2 nights there. If you still go without fresh towels or a made bed, you get a bottle of water for free. Unfortunately I'm used to a different standard. Too bad no recommendation from me.

There is a lot on offer. Various saunas, sports area, relaxation, massage. The hotel room is right on the main street, you get earplugs, the heaters are just noisy. Food and drink were very expensive, we didn't like it. A glass of wine 0.1l for over eight euros. Normally a glass of wine is 0.2l. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. In the sports area, the waste bag lay on a piece of sports equipment for days, the box for the paper towels (without paper towels) was open for just as long, who knows when it was last cleaned. Also the stairs to the elevator, someone fell there, no one cared. The swimming pool was certainly not cleaned either, maybe it is only cleaned once a week and we were inconveniently there. Tiles in the swimming pool are broken as well as the bubble system.

Feel good with heart – Harz Hotel & Spa Seela We spent a few really nice days at the Harz Hotel & Spa Seela and felt very comfortable right from the start. The location is quiet but still easy to reach - perfect for a little break with the family. The entire team was super friendly and attentive - you can just tell that they work here with heart. Sure, the house (especially the extensions) may not be an eye-catcher from the outside, but something is being done inside. The rooms are gradually being renovated, we were told that straight away - and you can see the attention to detail in many places. What we particularly liked: The spa area is also open to families with children - this is really not the case everywhere and was a big plus for us. So we were able to relax together. And breakfast? Really good! Large selection, tasty, fresh - and it was really nice to see that the employees were also eating in peace. This simply creates a warm, appreciative atmosphere. Conclusion: A house with heart, character and a lot of potential - we would come back at any time.

We really liked the location and hotel. We and our dog were greeted very friendly. Unfortunately, I no longer had the opportunity to look at the spa area, but you could pick up bathrobes at reception and towels for this purpose were also available. The breakfast was very rich and there was also something for vegans. The price for breakfast is definitely justified. The room may need some renovation in some areas. But that was the only reason for me not to give it 5 stars. Always my pleasure. Something special. Depending on where you are staying in the house, you can simply walk around the restaurant in your bathrobe. If you have a problem with this, you may want to ask about rooms in other areas of the house beforehand.

We booked the hotel because we received a voucher as a gift. The room was ok, the saunas are on different floors. . In order to get to the wellness area we had to walk through the restaurant in our bathrobe, which was always busy, which was very unpleasant. The sauna area is too small for all guests. Wouldn't book it again.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the forest. The reception, speaking reception, is modern and nicely decorated. The rooms are very dark and quite dated. The craftsmen would have to get involved. The rooms weren't my case. The spa is quite confusingly spread over several floors and houses. If you stay in the wrong house, you have to walk through the restaurant in your bathrobe while you eat breakfast or dinner. Restaurant was good. Although it's older furniture again, it fits with the overall furnishings. The range of drinks and food was top. You don't need more choice. Nice little restaurant employees (robots). To the next question I would answer NO if you have higher standards. Since the price-performance ratio is adjusted, I would like to recommend the hotel, although I would point out the limitations. Overall it's a good hotel and anyone who can handle older furniture and dark rooms is in very good hands

We spent our Christmas vacation in the hotel. Such a wonderful Christmas... it was fantastic... all in all... the staff was amazing... the room was perfect... everything was fresh and clean... a great breakfast buffet... and the dinner was of the highest gourmet quality... keep it up... we'll be back with you in a few weeks Here is our princess 🐕🐕🐕🐕 she is always welcome

You shouldn't let external influences influence you. It's a great hotel. We have been there 4 times now and are thrilled every time. The rooms are good and always bigger than expected :-) The breakfast buffet is great, both in terms of size and quality. I've had much worse breakfasts in more expensive hotels. The dinner menu at the hotel is also good. And the gym and spa area also offers various opportunities for relaxation, from working out to sauna to massages, everything is there. The highlight from my point of view is the employees. There is a great atmosphere between the people there and that also shows in the way you interact with the guests. We always feel at home here. We'd love to come back.

We really enjoyed our child-free weekend at the hotel. The reception was extremely friendly, as were all the other employees without exception. The breakfast was excellent and the evenings at the bar were also very nice. We enjoyed the sauna. If I had something to complain about, it would be the room furnishings, but that was also appropriate.

We spent a whole week here for a sibling reunion with our family and didn't really want to go home. Staying in the main house facing the forest, it was small and quiet (when the window in the hallway was closed) and the distances were short. But since you only go to the room to sleep anyway, that wasn't a problem. What stands out is the friendly staff and the calm way in which they deal with the guests. Our first point of contact was Sabine in the bar, who, in addition to the standards, also conjured up creative cocktails and sent them to the guests via BellaBot (service robot). Special thanks also to Susanne (Susi), who easily fulfilled our many special requests and never lost her smile. And of course our thanks to the hard-working Mohamed and Georgi, who served us the delicious, varied and rich food. We were very, very satisfied with the selection, quality and quantity. We booked half board and would do so again. The SPA area above the indoor pool was good, the relaxation rooms were a bit scattered and not quite as quiet due to the proximity to the main road. The infrared saunas are not as easy to use due to the lack of infrastructure (showers/toilets), but they are also not as frequented. The indoor pool was ok, but when families arrive with small children it is very loud. It's a shame that when booking, parents don't pay attention to the fact that a wellness hotel also offers peace and quiet in this area and prefer to go to the sauna while their children terrorize the swimming pool!!!! And last but not least, Bad Harzburg and the surrounding area ensured this successful holiday. There are many interesting destinations, but reaching them was often frowned upon because the management of the attractions and the city and spa administration seemed completely overwhelmed by the demand from those seeking relaxation. The choice was to queue for hours or alternatively walk. Since the weather was nice, the running was nice too. And of course arriving at the bar and restaurant in the evening. Nice hotel. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the breakfast was really great. Unfortunately, I didn't use the spa as I was out and about in the surrounding area all day. The location right next to Bad Harzburg's sights is very good. Parking situation is okay. I would book again and again!

We had a fantastic girls' weekend. The only downside was that the chocolate mousse wasn't enough for the price (the glass was only half full). The staff was super friendly and helpful. The wellness area was fantastic. We were in building 4, so we didn't have to walk around the hotel in our bathrobes. Saturday night with the DJ was also great. We'd love to go back.

The old building has been beautifully renovated, the furnishings are of very high quality and beautifully designed. The sauna area was great. It invites you to linger and, with a bit of luck, you can actually have peace and quiet in the individual rooms. The spa treatments were absolutely relaxing. The food was really tasty and of very high quality. Unfortunately, the staff was a bit understaffed and we had to wait quite a long time to order another drink, so we only had the first drink. Really a shame. Unfortunately, the much-heralded disco night was already over at midnight. But I think that's normal in hotels. Overall, it was a very nice stay in a lovingly designed hotel. A nice hotel with a great spa area. The food is great and very tasty. The area is perfect for day trips, there is a lot to see and do. I recommend this hotel it is definitely worth a visit.

We had booked a girlfriends weekend and were a bit skeptical when we arrived. From the outside the hotel looks very old, but from the inside it is very modern. The service is unbeatable. You could even check in online and check out online beforehand. There were rental bathrobes and even a program for the weekend. Friday was sauna night with infusions until midnight and Saturday was party night. We didn't expect that and it was really nice. Attention to detail plays a major role in the hotel. Cleanliness is also very important here. Even dogs are well looked after and there is a hiking trail right next to the hotel. Fitness room and indoor pool are also available. What's a shame is that the main street is right next to the hotel, but that's also taken care of with Oropax in the room. We will definitely come back. Thanks for the nice weekend

I've had the pleasure of being a DJ at the dance evenings at the Harz Hotel & Spa Seela in Bad Harzburg several times - and every time it was a special experience! The hotel not only offers its guests an extensive range of wellness and leisure activities, but also attaches great importance to varied evening entertainment. A highlight is the weekly dance evening, where guests can start the night in a lively mood. ​ Sonnenklar.TV The cooperation with the hotel team is always professional and cordial. The organization of the events runs smoothly, which is essential for me as a DJ in order to optimally coordinate the musical flow with the evening. Due to a meeting on site. Poor management (information to guests) when the fire alarm went off (good thing it was a false alarm). The staff was nice and we were well served.

Very nice staff, nice hotel and great offers, we would definitely visit it again because despite everything we had a wonderful weekend in your hotel! Unfortunately, two points deducted 1. because of the parking lot (Friday afternoon we were told that on Saturday morning we could use their own parking space. When we asked if we had to reserve it for Saturday, we were told no, there were enough available! On Saturday morning when we wanted to use their parking lot there was none! From around 1/2 p.m. we were told we could get one, but since we weren't in the hotel at lunchtime we had to pay for the public parking lot again until the afternoon and then we finally drove to their parking lot in the late afternoon and had to pay for the whole day too) 2.Wellness area Long waiting time Unfortunately, the loungers and chairs in the wellness area are constantly occupied, not by guests but by bathrobes and towels! I think there should be signs or more presence of employees who make sure that the loungers are not reserved for hours! 3.Gastronomy Long waiting time at HP (50min) (Between starter and main course)

We were there several times and each time we were warmly welcomed, the service staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a newly renovated room facing the street. This didn't bother us in any way as it had two windows one behind the other so the street noise could hardly be heard. The bed was a king size with a super good mattress and a comfortable lying height, ideal for those with back injuries. The food was, as always, very good. We look forward to the next time we come back. We feel comfortable here and the environment offers a lot of variety. Clear recommendation from us.

We had a really nice time at this hotel! The spa area was super relaxing, just what we needed after a long day. The breakfast was amazing – a huge selection and really delicious. We especially liked that we were allowed to pack rolls to take with us when we hiked up the Brocken. We also loved the room cleaning service: You can decide for yourself whether you need it, and if not, you get a bottle of water every day as a little thank you. A really cool idea! The staff was really friendly, and we immediately felt at home. We also enjoyed the restaurant – the pizza was great, my pasta was unfortunately a bit too soft, but overall everything was delicious. The little robot that drives around provided a bit of entertainment. As for the renovation: You can tell that the hotel is from the 70s, especially in the hallways, the elevator, and the bathrooms. But the rooms are modern and really nicely done. Of course, everything could be completely redone, but then the prices would certainly be significantly higher. We think this is a really good compromise!

My wife and I were guests from Monday to Wednesday! So from March 19th to March 21st, 2025, and we were very impressed. We can definitely recommend it. There is one criticism, however: the menu could be a bit larger, or there could be more choice. Otherwise, everything was top-notch, 5 stars from us. And the food was delicious. 😎👍🏻We had the suite, a very nice room with its own sauna and large balcony. It was also very nicely furnished. Everything was a mix of old and new. Excellent value for money.

Our stay was a complete success from start to finish. Booking was easy and confirmed in no time. Online check-in also went smoothly, so after a very friendly welcome, we were able to begin our relaxing experience right away. We didn't have to worry about a thing and were excellently looked after. We also enjoyed the long sauna night, which we made full use of. We would gladly return – it was fantastic!

Don't be fooled by the exterior. The interior is very stylishly decorated. As locals, we often visit the bar. The bar manager and her staff are all very friendly and competent. The cocktails are either hand-mixed or come from a modern cocktail machine. All are delicious and perfectly reasonable prices.

From the outside, this hotel doesn't look very inviting, but the interior is nicely done. Of course, the old building is evident in many places. The staircase, in particular, has been left in its original state... unfortunately, the bathroom was only partially renovated. They were probably trying to cut costs here... the windows are also very dated, and you can hear the street very clearly. I really liked the wellness area, swimming pool, and especially the women's spa. However, it must be said that when the hotel is busy, the wellness area is unfortunately much too small. Otherwise, it was very nicely done. A major drawback was the restaurant! The breakfast buffet was really delicious, extensive, and high-quality. But dinner was just a slightly better pizzeria... there were only pizza, salads, pasta, etc. That's not what you expect from a 4-star hotel! A small note about check-in: I found it very customer-unfriendly that guests have to type everything in to check in, even though there was a lady at the reception! All in all, it's certainly a nice hotel, but there's room for improvement! Especially regarding the dinner! A quick parking tip: instead of using the expensive public parking (€1/hour) or the hotel parking spaces (€8/day), it's better to find a free parking space in town. You'll have to walk a few meters, but it'll save you a lot of money.

The hotel is right on the main street, you can't miss it. Unfortunately there are only 8 free parking spaces in front of the hotel, otherwise there is a charge next to the hotel. We were warmly welcomed. The hotel is a bit old. It is visible in the stairwell and in the hallways. We had a room in house 3 that was a bit small. The bathroom could have been a little bigger. After the first night, our window was completely wet from the inside, so that the condensation was already running onto the window sill. Personally, I found the sauna area to be too small for the large number of hotel guests. We made the best of it and still had a nice weekend.

The hotel is on a very busy main road and is noisy when the windows are open. But with the window closed it's ok. The Bathroom is a bit old but that didn't bother us. IThe breakfast buffet is just great and the wellness area is also very good. Very accommodating staff and always friendly. We felt very comfortable there and would love to come back.

We liked the spa area. Pool, several saunas and plenty of relaxation areas. We didn't make use of the wellness offers. We had the room on the 4th floor in house 3. Neat and clean, but very small and unfortunately facing the busy main road, which also explained the free earplugs in the room. When booking, be sure to ask for a room facing the forest. Parking space can be booked right next door for a whopping €8, or underground parking is even more expensive (free parking not possible), bus stop right at the entrance. The service and the food were good. Half board very varied with starter soup, dessert and two main courses to choose from or alternatively a la card - the service staff is very flexible. The spa park, brine thermal baths and mountain railway are within walking distance.

Hello everyone, Our short weekend getaway was once again a blast. We were just here last year and celebrated our stag or hen party with you, because you have everything you need for a great weekend. The rooms are very modern and clean, the spa area is super cozy and equipped with everything you need, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Special praise goes to our bartender Alessandro. He knows exactly what our guests need, ensures your glass is never empty, and you always have something to laugh about. Best wishes

All in all we had a nice weekend, all the staff were very friendly. However, a few small things were noticed, as listed below. Regarding the spa area, especially the pool area: Far too cool and noisy, unfortunately there is no relaxing atmosphere here. Especially when it is well attended. We then moved to the library next door - it was nice and quiet and warm here.

Unfortunately, the hotel makes a rather shabby impression from the outside with the 1970s slab extensions. From the inside, however, most of the furnishings appeared quite stylish and relaxed, with a few exceptions to the stairwells, which retained the prefabricated charm. In general, some corridors, especially to the forest sauna, were partially poorly lit. Unfortunately, on Friday (long sauna night), the spa area could not cope with the number of guests who wanted to take a sauna and it was difficult to get to the Finnish sauna for the infusions. There weren't enough places to rest either, so we ended up wandering around rather than being able to relax straight away. For my taste, there could have been 1-2 saunas between 70-90°, as there were otherwise only two 60° and one 45° sauna in addition to the 90° Finnish one. During the day the sauna area was very empty, so we ended up alone in the saunas for a short time. From a hygienic point of view, everything looked quite good, even if you had to make do with plastic cups for the free drinks. The saunas were also poorly insulated, so you could clearly hear the noise from the pool area as well as the showers and conversations. Our room was very modern and well equipped with a TV, hairdryer, some free coffee, water and a rain shower as well as a balcony. It seemed very clean and we slept very well in the bed. The only drawback here is that the balcony door couldn't be closed from the outside, which is why my girlfriend had to lock me out to smoke. In the morning there was a varied breakfast buffet. However, we would have hoped for a little more selection of cold cuts in the vegan corner than just a vegan mortadella. That should actually be there in 2025. In the evening we had a reservation in the in-house (Italian) restaurant and were served very friendly. The food and drinks, however, were very unsatisfactory. As a trained chef, I suspect there is a lot of confectionery here, as types of pasta were not interchangeable. It was also a shame that there was no olive oil, vinegar or any bread at the table. The dishes overall were edible, but certainly not a highlight and I completely missed the spiciness of my penne al' arrabiata. In the back of the restaurant there is also an old "pub sports facility" with a few tables, an unoccupied counter, two table football tables, some of which had their handles loose, a pool table that was a bit crooked and was very outdated and 4 bowling alleys, only one of which worked. You had to get drinks from the modern bar, where you were served very well. Here the cocktails simply came from a machine instead of being mixed and were still quite expensive at around €9, but tasted okay. A DJ also played on Saturday evening. The music selection was very standard with quite poor transitions on cheap speakers, especially since you could also hear the music in some rooms, which is quite irritating in a SPA HOTEL. Overall we had a nice stay, despite the many shortcomings, but given the price I would still advise against booking.

Music for every taste is played here from 9 p.m. to midnight. Unfortunately, the sauna area, pool and relaxation room are not directly next to each other. I didn't understand why in a spa hotel the bathrobe had to be exchanged at the reception with a card left in the room. So: check in, go to the room, get the card, go back to the room, change and then go to the spa? Unfortunately, the rooms are NOT up to current hotel standards, which is what you might expect given the overnight prices.

Totally ok, makes lots of coffees and schnitzel in all versions in the evening :-)

Frightening from the outside, but a lot of flair in the style of the 70s/80s from the inside. Breakfast fantastic, dinner very tasty...

We were only there one night. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. There was a Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime. The staff was friendly. One star deducted because there is no elevator and the food in the restaurant was unfortunately not worth the price.

The hotel is a bit old. Renovation would be good. Otherwise the staff was very polite and helpful at any time. The food is top. Breakfast to dinner in the restaurant. There's nothing to complain about there.

We were completely satisfied with the hotel. We enjoyed the great spa area and especially the midnight sauna. The only criticism we have: the rolls at breakfast weren't that good and the old room doors didn't fit in with the otherwise modern hotel. The old doors had normal door handles on both sides, so you could easily open them from the outside if the room wasn't locked from the inside. In addition, it was very noisy due to the old doors and you could hear every word in the hallway clearly in the room in the morning. That was a bit disturbing. I would invest in new, thicker, soundproof doors with key cards. Nevertheless, we would like to come back :-)

I spent 3 nights/days in the hotel because of a seminar. Booking: I booked online in advance, everything went smoothly, the process and the information via email worked perfectly. Check in: Very friendly reception on site, everything went smoothly, the first impression when you come in is very stylish and harmonious Room: House 4 The first impression in the room was along the lines of "OK, clean but old (70s/80s) it didn't match the first impression of the rest of the hotel, but that wasn't a bad thing. For me it was important that everything was functional and clean. Breakfast buffet: Very good and rich breakfast buffet, everyone should find something here, vegetarian cold cuts were also thought of, which is rare. Two thumbs up Restaurant: Lunch was included in the seminar, the dishes on offer were well selected, I really enjoyed the food and it was attractively prepared Bear: Very friendly service and good selection of drinks Parking (Paying) You can reserve a parking space or a space in the parking garage. I recommend using one of the two, the public parking lot next door is more expensive than if you booked through the hotel Gym: Very great gym in new condition, it's completely sufficient for a workout. I missed a second treadmill and a water dispenser. Sauna: Great sauna area, I mainly used the Finnish sauna, so I can't say anything about the others. Swimming pool: I didn't miss anything here either. Dogs: Allowed Conclusion: I would definitely come back, even privately or together with my wife + dogs

The hotel: There is a lot on offer. We were able to play darts, billiards, bowling and enjoy a delicious beer. The fitness area is equipped with a variety of equipment, and there are also exercise balls and dumbbells. We were in house 1, so we had to walk half naked through the restaurant to get to the spa area. The room: We had the apartment. The size is good, we even had a window facing the forest. However, I was missing a kettle and a bathtub in the room 😢 the couch wasn't that comfortable either. In terms of noise, I found the room to be quiet, even at night when we had the window facing the street. I slept really well 👍 The location: If you want to go hiking, the location is ideal, right next to the forest you can quickly get into the forest. The city center is very easy to reach on foot, but there is only a limited amount to discover there. The food: The in-house restaurant “Juliushall” is excellent. Daily specials change daily, with an Italian-oriented regular menu offering pizza (the dough is excellent), pasta and a handful of selected dishes. The desserts are equally Italian and excellent. I want the restaurant home! The service: The service staff are always super friendly and help with every request, no matter how serious. Big praise!

Attention: If you want a nice room here, you definitely don't have to book a standard room! They are still clean in the style of 1960-1970, but old. Our window is almost out, seems to have only been filled with construction foam. Carpet and a smell that is familiar from nursing homes and hospitals. The pool is filled 10cm below normal level, which makes swimming difficult as waves constantly hit you in the face. You don't hear any pump filtering the water here either. But this is just a guess. The sauna area is far too small for the size of the facility and there is pure chaos with special offers such as trial infusions. Unfortunately, this has little to do with relaxation. We were lucky that the spa area was in our hotel wing. Others have to walk through the restaurant in a bathrobe to reach the spa area. What should definitely be highlighted is the service in the restaurant and the large selection at the breakfast buffet! The location above Bad Harzburg is okay for the younger generation as you have to walk a bit to get into the city. We probably won't come back and will only recommend the hotel based on the rooms.

We stayed at the hotel from Friday to Sunday due to our wedding anniversary. When you entered the hotel you immediately noticed the great atmosphere and modern facilities. The employees at the reception greeted you nicely. The room is a normal size but has modern furnishings with comfortable beds. The windows have double glazing. This is really fantastic because you can hear absolutely nothing from the street. And we had our room on the street side. The fantastic sauna area deserves special mention. Here you can relax. The facility is to be highlighted here again. The sauna night with half-hour infusions is also fantastic and included in the price. The pool is also nice and customs lit. We were completely satisfied and thank you very much. This was definitely not our last stay in this great hotel with heart ❤️

Top hotel for a winter weekend with children. We hiked to the whey house and probably chose the hardest route. We had a few questions about the surrounding area and the paths that are directly at the hotel... We would have liked more local information from the staff. A nice wellness area and great rooms. Evening menu in the restaurant (unfortunately only) with standard dishes. The waitress was on her toes, tried very hard and remedied and remedied our complaints. Our lost diving goggles were found and sent by mail. Thank you very much for that!

My wife and I stayed here in January while visiting our daughter. The hotel had been renovated which was still a work in progress and there was a barrier in front of the hotel that made it difficult to find the entrance. The check in was long and ridiculous with a tablet that you have to do yourself with the staff just standing there and watching you. I guess no one wants to talk with people anymore. The room was quite small and so was the bathroom but it was clean at least. The spa area was okay and the pool was nice but the water was fairly cold and not heated. The problem we had the most with our stay was that the hotel is pet friendly and there were dogs literally everywhere. In the restaurant, in the lobby and again in the restaurant for breakfast, there were dogs! My wife has a dog allergy and we tried going to breakfast sitting far away from the dogs as we could. Then a couple sat down directly behind us with there dog. We notified the staff that my wife was allergic and they totally dismissed our concerns and said they were a pet friendly hotel and that there were designated areas for the dogs in the restaurant. Which is completely absurd because the dogs were sitting everywhere in the restaurant. With Germany and there hygiene standards, I find it completely appalling that they allow dogs to sit in the restaurant and even more that the dog owners rights have priority over a human life! We will never be back to this dog hotel spa again.

A building that is clearly showing its age but has been rebuilt with great attention to detail and effort. Small, unimportant things that you would expect in a house like this are missing, but are overshadowed by the great overall picture. Spa and wellness area very good. Service in the house is outstanding. There was simply nothing missing. Thank you and come back soon

A very nice hotel. Very friendly staff. A huge breakfast and dinner was really delicious. The swimming pool is really nice, some music would be nicer. Just right for a short vacation. Mulled wine in the outdoor area was super delicious. Always happy.

We stayed at the hotel with our dog over Christmas. Rooms were great and everything was clean. There was soap and cream from a well-known company everywhere. The restaurant and the menu suggestions over the holidays were great and varied. The staff were super friendly and friendly. Everything was harmoniously decorated and there was punch and mulled wine outside. The bar is also highly recommended. The only stupid thing is that if you want to get to the bar, reception etc. you either have to walk through the restaurant or outside. That was a bit annoying. Especially if there was already something going on in the restaurant and you wanted to go to the sauna. (were in house 1)

The rooms in the old part are a bit old, but the service, the staff, the breakfast and the spa area are very good.

The hotel is in a great location, you can reach many things on foot. It's older, yes, but I think it's beautifully decorated. There are small seats everywhere, the sauna area is completely sufficient for a relaxing evening. There are plenty of relaxation rooms if the sauna area is full. The restaurant is very chic, the staff is very friendly and the food is very tasty. The rooms are actually rather small and outdated, but at least this is where we stayed and the furniture is new and it's very comfortable. We'd love to come back.

Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. We were accommodated in house 2 and had a nice, quiet room with a modern bathroom. The rituals products make it even more beautiful. The only reason we deducted a star is because of the hard bed, which gave us a bit of trouble. The breakfast is wonderfully varied and very tasty. We also enjoyed dinner in the hotel's own restaurant. The staff from the reception to the waiters in the restaurant, everyone was courteous and friendly. we always felt comfortable. we will definitely come back :-)

Went to the restaurant to eat, a complete disaster. The friendly service doesn't help either, especially since it's supported by an operating robot. The concept, pizza and plated dishes are not convincing at all, my food was cold and of low quality, and for pork fillet (tastes old, and there were only 4 very small pieces) with plör sauce and 4 small pieces of burnt pineapple on cold polenta with cold brocolli, which was already yellowish for 25 euros, totally wrong. Were there 6 years ago, the kitchen was excellent, and now it's sad. And the fact that spa guests walk through the restaurant in a bathrobe doesn't make things any better.

During our stay at this Hotel & Spa, we received a spacious apartment that clearly exceeded our expectations: Instead of a simple room, we had a 4-room apartment consisting of a living room, bedroom, separate toilet and bathroom. As non-smokers, it was pleasant for us that the apartment itself was smoke-free - however, for smokers, the very large balcony offers their own opportunity to smoke, with a beautiful view of the adjacent forest. When we arrived everything was extremely clean and well maintained. There were modern 40" smart TVs in both the living room and the bedroom, and free bottled water was also available. The WiFi was included and worked perfectly. We found the hotel staff to be very polite and courteous throughout our stay. Particularly noteworthy are the restaurant with a very good breakfast selection and the hotel's own underground car park, which makes parking convenient. The wellness area offers different saunas between 45° and 90° Celsius. These are well maintained and there are enough showers available for guests. However, the saunas are quite small - a sauna is often full with just four people. Another negative thing we noticed was that there were no staff in the sauna and swimming pool area during our stay. The massage offers, on the other hand, are an absolute highlight. The massage rooms are pleasantly designed and the treatments are professional and of high quality. This experience alone justifies an additional star in the overall rating. A few points of criticism reduce the overall impression: Unfortunately, our apartment was not cleaned during our stay of several days. In addition, there were waiting times for breakfast from around 9 a.m. because there were not enough tables for all guests. If you haven't booked dinner as a package, you should be prepared for quite high prices (e.g. pizza salami or spaghetti Bolognese for around €16.50). Overall, this hotel & spa offers beautiful, comfortable accommodation, friendly staff and a successful wellness and massage offering. However, small things in terms of service, space in the sauna area and pricing could still be improved.

We were welcomed very nicely. Rooms were okay "not too small because you're only going to sleep in them anyway😉" Spa was clean. Drinks were available. Yes, it's clear, but not all holidaymakers are there at the same time anyway. Food was super delicious. (To other reviews, anyone who complains that you have to walk through the restaurant in a bathrobe still has the option A = another room or B = don't complain and go outside😃) The hotel is a bit older and from a structural point of view it's not possible to do anything other than the way it is. We were very satisfied and will definitely come back. Thanks to the team👍👍👍👍

Unfortunately overall disappointing and not worth the money. First the positive points: The entrée was great, beautiful Christmas decorations and friendly staff. The breakfast selection was rich and tasty, friendly staff were present everywhere and helpful. Negative: Even before my arrival, I received 1-2 emails every day for a week asking me to please check in online. I found that very annoying. The room was very small and in the unrenovated part of the house, the bathroom was ancient but clean. A nice flyer enticed us with the offers in the spa area, but you first had to pick up the bathrobe at reception. The rooms were very noisy, but you couldn't hear the street noise through the double windows. The bed was really bad! You could feel the springs and it gave the impression of an old sofa bed. You enter the spa area through the swimming pool, which was ok. Behind the swimming pool there is a relaxation room where friends chatted. There were old dishes lying around and the blankets were lying all over the place on the loungers. Back through the swimming pool you reach the sauna area with very, very small saunas. There were rules of conduct everywhere, but the guests didn't follow them and chatted loudly in the saunas. The hotel can't do anything about that, but there was no staff in sight who could have pointed out to the guests that they should behave more considerately. The plastic cups for the tea had sharp edges, who would want to drink from them?! Back in the relaxation room there was still no staff there to clean up. The forest sauna was cute, but there were mountains of old leaves on the barren forest terrace. That didn't seem very inviting. When checking out, overcrowding at reception. There was no online option for this😃 All in all, I wouldn't go on vacation there again because the price-performance ratio isn't right at all.

Rooms are very noisy, every word can be heard from both the hallway and the adjoining rooms. It also smells modern. The bathroom is small, outdated and very dark. In general the rooms are getting old. The breakfast, however, is okay. With 4 stars we expected a more modern hotel.

We booked this hotel for a hiking wellness weekend and were influenced by the great photos on the internet. When we arrived, the outside impression of the hotel wasn't that good. It's a gray "block" probably from the 70s. But okay, that shouldn't play a big role. The reception area then made a better impression. We had 3 single rooms in house 4. The external impression was somewhat confirmed here. The staircase, elevator and hallway are in an unrenovated and old condition, as are the rooms. I can't remember the last time I got a real room key. Everything here is relatively old, the furnishings, the bathrooms, the curtains, etc. B. the telephone. We then went on to the wellness area. We didn't really like it here either, as the wellness area was getting old in some places and was spread over several floors. However, it is designed quite nicely and the women's sauna and relaxation room are very nice. Moving on to the restaurant: we had booked dinner here. We enjoyed the food. The only point of criticism here was that the chairs were very sagging, you noticed the springs and it was uncomfortable to sit on, but the restaurant was very full and there were probably no other chairs left. The cocktails afterwards tasted good, but at €8.50 we didn't think it was cheap considering the size. At breakfast we had comfortable chairs and everything you could want for breakfast was offered. It can happen that a coffee machine gives up the ghost from time to time. One thing is important to mention: the staff here are really great. Without exception, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Conclusion: for a 4 star hotel there are a few things wrong, but it is obviously being renovated and renewed. When this process is complete, it really is a great wellness hotel. Until then, however, we would refrain from visiting again.

We stayed at the Harz Hotel & Spa Seela for 2 nights to take a short vacation in Bad Harzburg. I was impressed by the hotel's promising website. Shortly before arrival, I read the reviews and was a little unsure whether my decision was right. But once I was there I was convinced of the opposite and found that the hotel was portrayed worse in some reviews! Of course, it always depends on which room and which services you book. We chose a superior double room with a forest view. The room had a box spring double bed, which didn't have a sagging mattress, on the contrary it was very comfortable and we slept great! I was most afraid of the bathroom because I was afraid of traveling back in time. Luckily, our room had a renovated bathroom, which was visually appealing, although small but perfectly adequate for our purposes. I can't complain about the noise at night either, since our room faced the forest, it was pleasantly "quiet" and we could even sleep with the window open. The only thing we noticed was that the room was a bit dark, despite several lamps and lights. The stairwell is still reminiscent of bygone times, and one or two things have not yet been modernized/renovated (e.g. windows, cupboards, pieces of furniture, hallway) but that didn't bother us personally. Attention, if you are staying in house 2, there is no elevator to the rooms. The sauna area is small but sufficient, there are 5 saunas and several relaxation rooms as well as free water and tea. Everything is spread out over several levels, but it's easy to find your way around thanks to good signage. The pool area is warm and cozy, the water temperature a bit cool for my taste. The breakfast buffet was varied (also suitable for vegetarians/vegans) and delicious! The employees at the reception and in the restaurant were also all super nice and accommodating! The location and proximity to sights and hiking trails is also a plus. There is also sufficient information material available. The hotel definitely deserves a chance. We would come again!

Totally thrilled so far, first day

Just one night from Sat to Sun with wife, husband and 11 year old. We arrive there at 1 p.m. and park the car in front of the hotel. Go in and ask if we need a room for 1 night... no problem. With a balcony, bedroom and another large living room... wonderful. 165 euros without breakfast.

No WiFi in the room. Shower tray has rust stains. Very old-fashioned and shabby for a 4* hotel. Very exaggerated with 4*. It's more of a 2 to 3* hotel.

Just wow! I travel around a lot and have rarely seen a hotel with this value for money! Always my pleasure!;)
