We were here with friends today. The ambience is appealing and the service took good care of the guests. When it came to eating, our group's opinions varied widely. The cevapcici were rather rubbery and should have been avoided. The matjes were very tasty. The Jägerschnitzel was well done. The French fries were also very tasty and visually very good. The Wienerschnitzel was very clear and was not served with French fries as ordered but with potato salad. A portion of French fries was added later. The pancake was probably very gristly. Despite the shortcomings mentioned, you can be happy that there are still inns like this in the districts. Maybe my careful criticism will encourage reflection or improvement.

Typisch kölsche Spezialitäten im Brauhaus-Stil. Küche haben wir schon besser in anderen Brauhäusern erlebt. Aber war auch nicht schlecht - eher Durchschnittlich.

Traditional goose meal. Price/performance is not right. Goose menu for €66 with liquid goose fat and a simple cheap roll, as well as small goose and meat portions.

Very tasty food. Friendly service despite stress. Our dog wasn't a problem either. Will probably come back there more often.

It's really nice to sit outside. The food is average and sometimes overpriced. The interior is missing that last something, I can't describe it. Maybe real brewery tables would help. Small flies were buzzing everywhere and sticking to the ceiling and lamps. It smelled like rancid fat. The counter/bar is bland and uninviting. The staff took some getting used to for us. Even though it was quite busy, we probably won't be back anytime soon.

Really cozy pub, with a traditional selection of food. The facility is top notch and the staff are all really friendly and make the visit a special experience. The quality of the food is very simple, but you can't and shouldn't expect anything more here. But it's really worth a visit and if you live in the hotel opposite, it's actually a must. Anyway, we had a really good time.

Small but good restaurant in the shadow of the Eigelstein Torburg. The name Klaaf describes what the Rhinelander likes to do: talk.

Delicious food, attentive and friendly service in a pleasant atmosphere

Leider wird die für Brauhaus-Verhältnisse solide Küche durch eine deart miserable (weibliche) Servicekraft ruiniert, so etwas habe ich noch in keiner Restauration erleben dürfen. Es ist schon eine Kunst, wenn eine handvoll Gäste kopfschüttelnd vor der Türe steht, um Luft zu holen ob der Dreistigkeit und Unverschämtheit im Service. Gut gemeinter Ratschlag an den Betreiber: Personalgespräch. Das die Rechnung am Ende auch noch falsch war (enthielt Posten, die wir eigentlich gerne bestellt hätten, die die Kellnerin laut eigener Aussage aber nicht vernommen hatte), grenzt an Betrug, den ich bei etwas mehr Enthusiasmus für die Sache ggf noch angezeigt hätte. Schade um diese schöne Lokalität.
