The LaRheiKa Triumvirate - proud of 33 years of the association. (January 1, 2025) Excellent hot and cold buffet. The selection and quantity were somewhat excessive. The owner displayed virtuosity on the spice rack, which appealed to and delighted every guest. This offering far exceeded all expectations. This chef has learned his craft and significantly expanded his skills. - Happy New Year 2025 - Keep it up! (December 29, 2024) Venison goulash with spaetzle and salad. - hearty and delicious. (December 8, 2024) Creamy chicken stew with croquettes and a mixed salad. - very tasty with a slight spiciness.

I can definitely recommend this place. We live in Riehl and always enjoy this little bike ride to Gretchen in Kasselberg. We were there two weeks ago and had something from the daily special, which was delicious and freshly prepared. The staff is also very friendly, and the beer is well chilled; I just don't know who the owner is.

Not everyone will like it, but everyone should try it: A quaint restaurant right on the Rhine. An ideal stopover on hikes or bike tours. Accessible by public transport. Plenty of parking is available. Only partially recommended for connoisseurs and gourmets. The ambiance is impressive despite the Rhine's flooding. Good food that's well worth the price.

It's got something you have to like. I like it...

Incredibly unfriendly service. We were initially ignored, and the waitresses seemed to prefer private conversations with guests rather than serving them. The tables were dirty and not at all inviting. We won't be coming back.

A quaint, cozy pub-restaurant! The best place to sit in good weather is on the terrace and simply enjoy a drink or a bite to eat. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The ideal stop on our bike tours; we never miss it :-))

I was at Kasselbergergretchen today on July 4th, 2025, a Friday. I ate a spit roast with chips and drank water and a Coke. It was very tasty. Trendy campers meet there very often and it is only a few steps to the Rhine flowing past. The restaurant is well located and easy to reach by car, motorbike, bike or even on foot, which is why I always go back to Kasselbergergretchen!! Up, up.

Go there on Tuesdays and try the potato pancakes. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. My colleague loved the ones with apple sauce, as did I with the ones with cabbage (they also have a salmon version). The waitresses were incredibly friendly and both on the ball. The seating is relaxing near the Rhine. Perfect for cyclists, too.

We walked all the way from Worringen...we wanted food and drinks... Unfortunately, the waitress completely ignored us for about 15 minutes...(outside)...! And the food order didn't work at all!...off to the ferry for dinner!

Today we had a delicious meal at reasonable prices. The service was very friendly. Highly recommended. We only sat outside, so we can't comment on the atmosphere inside. The restrooms are old but clean. Nothing to complain about. We'll definitely go back!

Yes, the atmosphere in the restaurant itself is nice, and everything about the Rheinaue is great, too ;-) As for the food, I liked the creamed herring with fried potatoes and a small salad the best. Unfortunately, they're only available when they're on the specials menu...

The Kasselberger Gretchen is a nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the Rhine. The service was nice and very, very attentive and our small group of cyclists also enjoyed the food Lots of praise for the kitchen too We'll definitely come back more often now that the weather is nice

The atmosphere is very rustic, very dark and uninviting. We didn't receive a particularly friendly welcome and decided against staying. I can't say anything about the kitchen in this regard. The Sun Terrace will probably only open this weekend (March 15th/March 16th, 2025).

Restaurant with outdoor dining. Fresh Kölsch, good rosé wine and home-style cuisine. I've now eaten your knuckle, delicious. And the service is super friendly and quick.

We were on a bike tour and found a place for the two of us on the terrace. The waitress was there quickly, brought us the menus and asked what drinks we wanted. We first wanted to take a look at the selection of drinks on the menu. We ordered a non-alcoholic wheat beer and a mineral water. The non-alcoholic wheat beer was served quickly, but we had to wait 10 minutes for the mineral water. We ordered the Schnitzel Hawaii with fries for me and Cevapcici with fries for my wife. It didn't take long before we were served food. The schnitzel was a 7 mm thin slice of meat, not pounded. As a result, the schnitzel was very hard and you had to chew hard. A lot of breading around the schnitzel and the ready-made hollandaise sauce didn't make it any better. The pineapple was chopped and not in rings. The fries were blandly salted. The four cevapcici with ajvar and onions were quite okay. Because you can't really go wrong with frozen goods. We asked for mayonnaise and ketchup. But they only came after repeated requests. It was very unpleasant when my wife spat out an orange piece of plastic that was in her food. We couldn't find out whether it was in a cevapcici roll or in the ajvar. Who knows what would have happened if she had swallowed it... After the waitress wanted to clear the plates, she asked if everything was OK. We informed her that the schnitzel was very tough and pointed to the plastic piece on the edge of the plate that was found in my wife's food. She wanted to pass it on to the kitchen. Later she came with the bill. There was no response to our complaint. Then we visited the toilets. Maybe we should have done that before ordering food. The toilets were very dirty. There was no toilet paper or paper towels. We will never visit this restaurant again.

I wouldn't describe the Gretchen in Kasselberg as a restaurant, but rather as a friendly snack bar in the immediate vicinity of a larger campsite. The good rice-performance ratio of the somewhat limited drinks and menu is outstanding. Anyone who finds the somewhat hidden Gretchen will be rewarded with a pretty sun terrace and honest snacks. Small parking lot. Not handicapped accessible.

In short: the beer and the atmosphere is really good 👍 The food is ok... I had cevapcici, they were really super small, 4 pieces in total, almost only fries on the plate and very little ajvar, it was exactly enough for half a cevapcici. No onions, I've never seen them before... Please larger cevapcici with fresh onions and lots of ajvar, then I'll try it again :-)

Very good there. Nice friendly staff. Small, tasty menu. Drinks with & without alcohol. Clean separate toilets. You can sit down to eat and drink inside and outside. There is in front of Gretchen on the traffic-calmed street. Maximum speed 30 km/h. Also some free car parking spaces. But they are also opposite Gretchen. For guests from the campsite. The campsite is suitable for mobile homes and caravans. The Rhine is not too far. On the other side is the Neulandpark in Leverkusen. Very nice, too. The new Leverkusen Bridge.

On our Mother's Day bike tour we stopped at Zum Kasselberger Gretchen. Nice service, super tasty food and a great view of the Rhine, what more could you want. We'll definitely be back.

The waitress put menus on the table with the comment that they still have to clear up, takes two of 6 glasses and then serves another table. No overview of standing and walking. Don't come back.

Went there specifically to eat...and they were empty by 8:15 p.m. on a Saturday. Mmmmmmmmhhh.....they should have one more change. A week later...second try. Was worth it. Sat well, ate well and the service was nice. Slightly chaotic, but that made it more human.

A traditional gem on the cycle path between Cologne and Dormagen. Very friendly service, great food and drinks at reasonable prices. Sanitary facilities clean and attractive. We did it again today... Super delicious shashlik pot - spicy, but not too spicy. Kölsch - fresh and cold, wonderful.

It used to be better! The beer was gaff, now it's early. It's always a matter of taste but for most people in the area it's not that good. The conditions are nice. But the food needs to be worked on urgently & the order outside isn't great either. They don't know how to do math either.

Great, located directly on the Rhine. You sit here like you're on vacation. The service seems to need some practice and was a bit slow at first. However, the girls are very nice and hard-working. The food tore everything out again. The steaks were medium rare, the side salad was simple but delicious and the fries, yes the fries, were by far the best we have eaten in years. The prices are really moderate for this location. Rump steak (top) with fries (madness) and salad (top) for 24.90 is almost cheap in Cologne. If you give the new owner and his crew a little more time, I'm sure they will become a top excursion location directly across from the Rhine and the campsite.

Kasselberg Gretchen is always worth a visit. We are always happy to enjoy delicious food and hospitality in a particularly beautiful location on the Rhine. Bestes Schnitzel ("Schlawiner")! Im Sommer draußen zu sitzen mit leckerem Essen, einer Brise vom Rhein und nem kalten Kölsch, was braucht man mehr! 😎 Klaus empfängt seine Gäste sehr herzlich und ist immer für einen Spaß zu haben. Kommen immer wieder gerne ins Gretchen. 😋 P.S.: Ja, irgendwann probieren wir auch nochmal was anderes als Schnitzel. Aber es ist einfach sooo gut! 😁

Uriges Restaurant hat seinen Charme nicht verloren

Heute leider eine ganz gruselige Bedienung. Kellner mit unappetitlichem Raucherhusten lallte und hustete uns an und verstand die Bestellung nicht. Wirklich richtig gruselig. An anderen Tagen vielleicht anders. Heute haben wir schnell das Weite gesucht. Wie in einem ganz schlechten Horrorfilm.

Das "Gretchen" liegt am Radwanderweg "Rheinschiene" (linksrheinisch) an Rhein - Km 702,5. Das "Gretschen" wurde in der Vergangenheit oft vom Hochwasser eingenommen, so auch im Dez. 1993

Hier sind wir nach einer Radtour eingeflogen und haben lange nicht so gut gegessen. Wir saßen draußen deshalb kann ich über die Innenräume nichts sagen. Der Kellner war nett und wir mussten nicht lange warten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder

Schöne Ecke zum Pause machen essen und trinken preislich top

Essen sehr lecker, Lokation direkt am Rhein ruhig und gemütlich. ABER wir mussten trotz Reservierung auf einen Tisch auf der Terasse warten, Getränke haben wirklich lange gebraucht und aufs Essen mussten wir fast 2 Stunden warten. Weniger schlimm, wenn die Getränke dann wenigstens kommen aber wir saßen oft und lange auf dem Trockenen.
