Früh Em Jan von Werth in Köln

Haben uns wieder sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Essen lecker, die Kneipe urig, und der Köbes hatte immer einen Spruch parat... Das Bier kam stets schnell und frisch, wie es sich für ein Kölsch gehört.

Trotz der guten Bewertungen, nehmen wir leider keine guten Eindruck aus unserem Besuch mit. Das Essen was wir bestellt hatten, war wirklich nicht gut. Zu den Salaten gab es sehr trocken Brötchen, das Gemüse war teils zu lange angebraten, sodass sich Bitterstoffe gebildet hatten und die Soße auf dem Spargel war total wässrig. Auch der Apfelstrudel zum Nachtisch schmeckte nicht mehr nicht frisch und war bei erhitzen etwas zu lange im Ofen.

Typisch Kölschens essen und Ambiente. Der Service war sehr gut gewesen und das Essen auch. Ich würde wieder hingehen und es auch jedem empfehlen.

Bei einem Schulausflug haben sie Pilzsoße darüber gegeben; es wäre wahrscheinlich in Ordnung, wenn sie es separat servieren würden.

Das Jan von Werth ist eine uriges typisches Wirtshaus mit deftigen und leckeren Gerichten aus bürgerlicher Küche. Der Namensgeber war im Dreißigjährigen Krieg ein hoher Kavallerieoffizier auf Seiten der Katholischen Liga und kämpfte für den Kaiser. Die Wirtschaft ist mit Bildern und Motiven rund um diesen Protagonisten dekoriert. Neben der Stammkarte gibt es immer eine Wochenkarte und Tagesgerichte. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und von den Portionen kann man gut satt werden. freitags gibt es ein Fischgericht. Erstaunlicherweise ist auch dieses so gut von der Qualität, dass man erst mal ein Restaurant finden muss, das auf diesem Level kocht. Außer bei Scampino in Mühlheim habe ich nach meinem Geschmack in Köln noch nicht so gut Fisch gegessen. Im November gibt es Wildgerichte und Gans. Auch die Gans ist so gut, dass ich sie empfehlen kann. Der Service ist besonders hervorzuheben, wenn man mal meinen Bonus abzieht, weil ich Stammgast bin. Das Personal ist flink und sehr freundlich. Heute wurden wir von Herrn Schuster bedient, der uns schnell mit Getränken und Essen versorgte und auch noch etwas Zeit für einen kurzen Klaaf hatte. Ich kann das Jan von Werth ohne Einschränkung weiterempfehlen.

Leider nicht mehr so gut seit es zu Früh gehört. Essen mittelmäßig. Das gleiche wie in allen Früh-Häusern. Für ein Bier reicht es. Rosenmontag leider nur noch geschlossene Gesellschaft...

Sehr schönes Brauhaus super nette Bedienung nur leider war mein Rumpsteak zäh und der Salatteller hatte mehr braune Stellen als grüne. Wir haben es der Bedienung auch mitgeteilt. Zum Trinken und geselligen Beisammensein würde ich jederzeit wieder herkommen zum Essen nicht

Spontan netten Abend gehabt und was kleines gegessen, Köbes freundlich, Preis Leistung gut. Alles super!

War geschäftlich in Köln und habe dort einfach das beste Pfeffer Steak ever gegessen. Die Bratkartoffeln dazu und die Soße waren der absolute Hammer. Der Kellner super sympathisch und flink. Absolute Empfehlung.

Schöne Kölsche Wirtschaft. Flotte und kompetente Bedienung mit Spaß an der Arbeit. Wir waren zu dritt zum Mittagessen. Schnitzel, Himmel und ääd, Schweinesteak mit Zwiebeln Speck und Spiegelei alles hat gut geschmeckt. Ordentliche Portion.

Richtig rustikale Kölschkneipe. Gutes Essen und kölsche Bedienung. Genau deshalb gehe ich und meine Freunde dahin. Hier passt alles zusammen.

Gemütliche und gesellige Kneipe mit gutem, traditionellem deutschen Essen und super freundlichem Service. Unser Kellner war ein echter Wirbelwind und hat uns ständig mit frischen Bieren versorgt. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Hello, I had a delicious pork knuckle with dumplings. It was a very large knuckle with lots of meat, and they didn't charge me for the sauce. The staff was very nice and pleasant. It's a place where you can stay for several hours.

A charming pub serving German and Cologne specialties. Delicious Kölsch beer is served in abundance (use a coaster on your glass) 😃 After a stressful move, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind, although the noise level on a Saturday night is almost comparable to a heavy metal concert 😂

If you’re a tourist avoid this place. Overrated, unfriendly and expensive for what you get.

A true German beer hall. Delicious, fun, and playful atmosphere. It allows you to relax and unwind a little, especially if you've been working hard all day. It's like a brain reset. I wish everyone could come here.

Unfortunately, you can't take away leftovers in a "doggy bag" unless you pay an extra €5 for a plastic container.

I went there for dinner with my colleague after work because I really wanted to try German cuisine – and we weren't disappointed! We received a very warm welcome and, since it was quiet, were even allowed to choose our own table. The atmosphere was pleasant, and we had a wonderful conversation. The food arrived quickly, was absolutely delicious, and the portions were just right – we were full and satisfied afterward. We'll definitely be back at the next opportunity!

We had an evening get-together here with business colleagues. The beer and food arrived quickly and in plentiful quantities. Due to the convivial atmosphere, it was probably a bit louder than usual. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Since we live in the immediate neighborhood, we often come here. ;) And we really enjoy it. It's welcoming, the food tastes good, the portions are certainly not too small, the staff is very accommodating and friendly, and the Kölsch beer arrives quickly and at a pleasant temperature.

We were at Jan von Werth today with our regulars, and we simply have to praise the service. Our waiter, David, kept an eye on everything; even when the room was packed with several large groups, he never lost sight of the six of us. Huge compliments to David! Very nice brewery. Fast-paced Köbese (a traditional German beer) and delicious food. We were there on Tuesday for schnitzel day. It was worth it.

The taste is okay, but the portion sizes are disproportionate. The spring salad is very generous, the sauerbraten and roast pork are very manageable. The hunter's schnitzel is again a good portion. So the more expensive the dish, the less on your plate? A shame.

Four of us spontaneously arrived, got a table right away, and, as expected, enjoyed some very well-executed classics. Good, home-style cooking, everything very tasty and plentiful. The service was friendly and courteous, even though we, as out-of-towners, ordered two Kölsch beers per person, as we're used to at least 0.4. Quaint and cozy, with good food and fresh Früh Kölsch. We felt at home, and the visit was definitely worth it. Thank you very much!

We spontaneously stopped at Früh Jan von Werth on Christophstrasse for a quick, delicious Früh Kölsch. Since you can't stand on one leg, we immediately followed it up with another. The waiter was quick and the next one was ready. We needed a place to rest, so the tartar bite came in handy. It was a fun, rustic, and sociable experience, just as a brewery should be.

As a regular guest, I highly recommend this brewery. Delicious food and a very varied weekly menu, which is also updated with the seasons. The Kölsch beer comes quickly and tastes great, and the service is prompt and very friendly. I'd be happy to come back! ...

A classic. Brewery with tradition. Yes, as a foreigner you could sometimes misunderstand the sayings. But that's Cologne dialect. Here the heart is on the tongue. So if you're looking for a brewery with tradition and a Kölschem heart, you're in great hands here. Here you can also find the “locals” who come for a quick Kölsch after work and leave again, but also sociable groups who enjoy the evening and just have fun. You have to stop by here... Remember, the Köbes only stops delivering when the beer mat is on the glass. Water is only available for washing and sometimes not for drinking. Just kidding… that could still be an answer. So, immerse yourself in the tradition and let yourself be surprised ❤️😎

War mit einer größeren Gruppe im Früh Em Jan von Werth und da Montag war, gab es frische Reibekuchen mit verschiedenen Möglichkeiten, zum Beispiel selbstgemachtes Apfelkompott oder wie in meinem Fall frisches, selbstgemachtes Tartar. Kölsch von Früh ist lecker und die Bedienung manchmal etwas überfordert aber dafür freundlich, also sehr zu empfehlen.

We went to the quiz dinner at Früh Jan von Werth. A nice brewery with a rustic atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food could have been better. A menu was also put together for this evening. However, the menu offers delicious Cologne specialties. Always my pleasure!!!!

Service was super nice and accommodating, hence 5 stars for the service. Ambience is also typical brewery with good 80s/90s music in the background. But unfortunately the food was almost misleading. The menu includes goulash with homemade macaroni." The goulash is not beautifully prepared, the sauce is very thick, but still okay. The supposedly homemade macaroni is cheap pasta from a bag that was completely overcooked, so much so that it was already pale and completely falling apart, not salted and with pasta water dripping onto the plate. Selling this as homemade pasta borders on misleading. Therefore, I don't recommend any food

I had a wonderful time at Früh am Dom! The atmosphere was warm and lively, with beautiful views of the Cologne Cathedral. I tried the Schweinshaxe (roast pork knuckle), and it was delicious, crispy on the outside and tender inside. Of course, I had to pair it with a few glasses of their famous Kölsch beer, which was light and refreshing. The staff were friendly and service was quick despite how busy it was. Definitely a must visit for anyone wanting a classic Cologne experience!

Zum ersten Mal dort gewesen. Hatte einen Tisch am Fenster gewünscht und diesen auch bekommen. Da war die Freude bei mir schon groß. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. We ate well, but the waiters seemed a bit rude to me. When they collected the glasses we had the impression that one of them drank the dregs of the beer. Plus there was a little mouse wandering around the tables, but no one seemed to mind

When I'm in Cologne on business, our colleagues really enjoy going here. There is always very tasty food here. This time I had Himmel und Ääd with a side salad. Absolutely recommended 😍 The waitresses are always funny and friendly. Unfortunately, refilling the Kölsch doesn't always work so well.

We had a great time on Carnival Sunday after taking part in the Veedelszöch! Kölsch is quickly and excellently tapped, the food is delicious and quickly at the table for us hungry people. Also highly recommended outside of the session: potato pancakes!!

Wir waren mit 10 Personen dort, alle zufrieden. Der Köbes war souverän und hat einen tollen Job gemacht. Das Essen ist eine sehr gute Grundlage für das Bier in den kleinen Gläsern. Zentrale Lage. Empfehlenswert.

Cordon Bleu ordered, very fried and dark on the outside, raw meat on the inside. Fries lukewarm. Sent back due to raw pork. Fair service since we didn't have to pay for the plate, but at least a disappointing experience. Kölsch ok

We actually had a nice evening. Now, at 3 a.m., I deeply regret eating there. Greetings from food poisoning with violent vomiting - you wouldn't wish it on anyone and I will never eat here again even if I can keep something down at some point...

Sorry, the food is below anything I've eaten so far, even by Cologne standards. The fries are so hard that you want to beat a drumroll on your plate and the Jägerschnitzel only has ready-made sauce. After ordering, the kitchen realizes that there aren't enough "Wiener Schnitzel" in stock. Only the cheapest ready-made dressing on the side salad. Pity about my hunger. The whole thing together for over 20 euros. No, we're not going there anymore.

Delicious Kölsch. The atmosphere is also very nice, although the counter system, i.e. the shelves, could be made more decorative. Then next time there will be 5 stars instead of just 4 now. 😏 The Köbes also have, as befits, a dry and friendly sense of humor. Keep it up.
