A very iconic restaurant. With great staff and a boss like that. Not to forget the home-style cuisine, really delicious. Special requests...?, no problem here. Such a “guest site” doesn’t exist often anymore. 👍

Very very poor experience! Travel a long way to this “nice” restaurant at 8:20pm. Open the door, staff only said two words to us, “No!(shaking her head)” “Full (stiffly)!” But we still can see nearly half empty seats inside, meanwhile even other customer shows us the table where we can seat. Probably we need to reserve first, but two words feedback was too disappointed, at least a short explanation could be accept! :\ No recommend ! No recommend !

Quaint, tasty and great service

We went here inbetween trains. Had 2.5 hours to kill. It’s a traditional pub, with a very nice aesthetic. We got in were greeted nicely. Ordered drinks and food fairly quickly. Drinks came out, 45 mins passed, the bar tender came over asked what we had ordered again, about 10 minutes after the cook started making it, then came out 15 - 20 after that. Our train departure time got a little to close to comfort. When checking out we asked to split the check two ways, which was met with an audible frustration, and then she angrily asked what we had, got it wrong and wouldn’t listen. She also had been drowning beer while we were there. The food was fine the atmosphere was good, but would not recommend as a tourist.

My experiences at this establishment were consistently wonderful, without a single moment or bite that wasn't truly enjoyable. I give it full marks – absolutely flawless.

Cozy, old school atmosphere. Service is on point. Eater was good, fries in fresh fat, steak on point. As a bonus there was a solo entertainer. Gladly again.

Had a delicious dinner here with colleagues on Monday night. We wanted to go to a traditional German restaurant and this was perfect. We sat outside in a park just across the road from the restaurant. It was a beautiful warm day and the park set a gorgeous atmosphere for dinner. The food we had was great, everyone was very happy and there was plenty to drink too (beers and apfelwein). I really enjoyed my meal which was a bit like a pork terrine. Really delicious. There was a big bowl of roasted potatoes in the middle of the table with the food which were so crispy and fluffy! We were able to book on the day but the tables did fill up, so make sure you book ahead. To note: The outdoor seating is in a park, so you may be sat on a bit of a slope.

We had a good experience eating dinner at this restaurant. They do not speak English but we used our translation app on our phones and were able to order. Food was delicious. Authentic German cuisine. They also run a beer garden across the street

We used their services as caterers for our wedding and were extremely satisfied. Our wishes were taken into account very well when selecting the buffet. The boss himself grilled for us that day and was very friendly and professional. The amount of food was very generous and the quality of the food was also very good. We can definitely recommend the catering.

We both had liver with onions and mashed potatoes. Beforehand there was soup and pudding for dessert. All very tasty. 😋 Fair prices. The many old decorative things are also very nice.

Went there spontaneously to eat, but we shouldn't have. The service was ok, but food and drinks are not recommended. I ordered a Fanta, which apparently consisted mostly of water and didn't taste like anything. My husband had a Hefeweizen, which wasn't drinkable either. We gave the food back, the meatloaf tasted like cardboard, the pasta had no salt and the sauce was completely out of the bag and totally over-seasoned. There was no sign of good home-style food. The food used to be very tasty, but if the landlord doesn't feel like it anymore and prefers to argue with his wife, then they should close the shop.
