Interestingly decorated and very quaint. The food tastes very good. Unfortunately, we had terribly rude service. I asked for a small portion, to which I received a curt and snappy NO! in response. I hadn't even finished the sentence because I had added that I had had an operation. Then came the same NO! Nothing more! If you don't offer something, which I personally consider very backward, you can say it differently. From the very beginning, she didn't have any emotion on her face. I haven't experienced anything so unfriendly in a long time. At the end, she asked me if the food didn't taste good because the plate was still so full. What else can you say to that.

Very quirky decor. Beautiful wall decorations. The fried potatoes are sensational. A shout-out to the chef. The prices are actually very fair, except for the €4.50 latte, which is actually good, but only served in a small cup.

Super delicious food at fair prices. There's also always a lunch special with three dishes to choose from, including a soup starter, salad, and a small dessert. The decor is reminiscent of the old days, with vintage metal signs everywhere (Maggi, Zwieback, etc.) and pure nostalgia. The waiters were very friendly and only brought the wrong drinks twice, which we ordered in large quantities and repeatedly received in small quantities, but that wasn't a big deal. At lunchtime or on weekends, it can get very busy and quite loud. We still enjoyed it and will come back.

Terrible service. The elderly blonde waitress was super rude and treated us badly from the moment we walked in. I think there are better places with better service. Don't waste your time.

We wanted a relaxed breakfast – we liked the concept of using fresh, regional ingredients and the market hall. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to eat; we were ignored upon entering, and then the menus were slapped down on our table. The apparently very dissatisfied and bad-tempered waitress took our order, only to inform us shortly afterwards that they were out of cheese. Thus, the only vegetarian breakfast option was unavailable. When we tried to inquire about alternatives, the waitress had already walked away. My companion thought we hadn't been heard and asked again, "Sorry?", whereupon the waitress yelled at us that she would be right over. Instead, a colleague was sent to us, who offered a half-hearted apology, probably already expecting us to leave. When we pointed out as we left that it's not nice to yell at your guests, he simply replied, "I already apologized." A terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The food was delicious and the prices were very fair for Frankfurt. The service was mostly friendly. The only annoying thing was the payment, where we had to repeat what we were having, and it was only possible in cash, even though there was a card payment machine at the checkout.

For me, it's the only restaurant in Frankfurt where I can reliably get extremely delicious food at an extremely good price. A piece of culture and home that most people pass by in the Kleinmarkthalle. It's their own fault. 😉

Food was mediocre at best. Got a salad, sausage and potatoes. Have had much better. The worst part was that the old lady server was INCREDIBLY rude! I'm talking really short tempered and extremely unkind. Not only to us, but to the other customers as well. Would never step foot back in here again. Actually extremely disappointed we wasted our opportunity to have lunch here.

I ordered a pepper cream schnitzel with fries. The fries were good, and the schnitzel was also delicious. The pepper cream sauce was abysmal. I had at least 50 peppercorns in the sauce, all of them whole and disgustingly bitter when bitten into. The sauce itself was only lightly seasoned, with no pepper in it. Next time I visit, I'll give the "chef" a decent recipe for a proper pepper cream sauce.

Away fans should best avoid the Marktstubb! The furnishings and breakfast invited you to linger. But when I was waiting for my food, I went to the landlady's counter with my cell phone and charging cable and asked nicely if I could charge my cell phone...First of all, a direct "no". I thought it was a joke of the sometimes direct Hessian kind and asked again. Then a little more feedback in the form of..."Nät mit deem Stickäää" to which she pointed to my jersey, along with an incomprehensible shake of the head, along the lines of: How can I actually dare to ask? (?!) Actually, I should have left straight away. But the food was ordered and tasted pretty good. It's a shame that you, as a very quiet and polite visitor to the city, are not welcome here.

We were disappointed with the food and service. The food was mediocre and the service was lacking. It took a long time to get our orders taken, food to arrive and pay our bill. What a shame as the location was superb.

Hamburg meets Frankfurt ⚓😎⚓ A Frankfurt original where everything is right. From the ambience, service to the quality of the food, everything was great. Anyone who likes good home-style cuisine, humorous service and, last but not least, a lot of food for their money will love this location.

Food and service were both amazing.

Went there again today for dinner after many years. Surprisingly, the restaurant was almost empty at lunchtime, with only two tables occupied. We had Frankfurter Grie sauce with eggs and potatoes and boiled beef. Some of the potatoes were still hard. The eggs are cold from the fridge and the green sauce is vinegary and thin. The boiled beef is hard, chewy and not hot. Even the starter soup tasted sour. Other guests had them returned as “not tasty”. In short, we were very disappointed and for almost €40. The service wasn't unfriendly, but a smile wouldn't have been bad. You didn't feel very hospitable.

The food is really over the top delicious. I like to eat out in pretty expensive restaurants sometimes (€€€+ per person), but this feeling of extremely well-made home cooking is absolutely unique. To be honest, I haven't found any other restaurant in Frankfurt that can compete with Markstubb in this regard... and I even only ordered, which of course means the food suffers... I definitely have to come by :)

Nun, was kann man über eine rustikale Gaststätte erwähnenswertes berichten? Essen passt zu der Bezeichnung " rustikal " und " magenfüllend" und d a s soll es mit der Bewertung " Essen " auch schon gewesen sein. Die Begrüßung bzw. Freundlichkeit der Bedienung ( schmächtige Frau ) war alles andere als " Willkommensgeste " zu deuten. Auch die Aufforderung , endlich Platz zu nehmen, hat sicher nicht zum erneutem Verweilen in dieser Gastlichkeit beigetragen. Ganz im Gegensatz einer weiteren Bedienung, welche wirklich freundlich mit uns umging. Ihr wollte ich meine Zeche mit einem Trinkgeld kundtun, aber zum Kassieren war diese ersterwähnte Bedienung ( oder Chefin ? ) nur zuständig ( leider ) Ja , da braucht man nicht zu jammern, über die " derzeitige Flaute " an Gästen !!

Unfreundliche Bedienung. Es ist wohl nicht gerne gesehen, wenn man nur etwas trinken möchte. Es gab Zeiten, da hat man sich über jeden zahlenden Gast gefreut.

Unfortunately the salad we ordered was really bad. Totally limp leaves and the supposed cream sauce (?) didn't taste like anything. Not edible. Schnitzel was below average. Once and never again. The service (female) was totally listless and unfriendly. It's better to go to another restaurant and pay a little more.

A very nice rustic restaurant. Good German food. Yummy. Great price performance. Service difficult. Partly good or bad. Depending on the service person. It gets better - then there are more stars. I work in the service sector myself and know what it's like. Nevertheless, you should remain professional and friendly. Still coming back.

We enter the restaurant 10 minutes before 3 p.m. The waitress looks demonstratively at her watch, looks at us and grimaces. She withholds the greeting. We sit down anyway. The other waitress brings the cards and tells us to order quickly because the kitchen closes at 3 p.m. We quickly decided. So the cook has to go back to the kitchen (he was having lunch) and acknowledges our visit with audible annoyance that he actually gets off work at 3. The bratwurst was good, the fried potatoes were great, the salad was carelessly peppered on the plate. The displeasure radiated by the staff alone creates a musty atmosphere and costs stars. A smile would work wonders.

The food was very good, unfortunately marred by the extremely unfriendly service. I asked if the breaded cutlet was also available with herb butter. I was then harshly told that this was on the menu, an absolute no go! The lady should think about whether she is in the right place in the service department. Also disappointing that there is only bottled beer at a horrendous price of €3.50 for the 0.33 liter. Bottle. Despite the very good food, I won't come there again because of the unfriendly service.

We both had liver with onions and mashed potatoes. Beforehand there was soup and pudding for dessert. All very tasty. 😋 Fair prices. The many old decorative things are also very nice.

A special restaurant within the Kleinmarkthalle in downtown Frankfurt. Rustic atmosphere, you have to like it... we liked it!!

We traveled to the Kleinmarkthalle on a Saturday. The goal was to eat there after I saw the Marktstubb in a report. Unfortunately we were very rude 1.5 hours before closing time then pointed out that the kitchen was closed. At that time there were only 3 guests in the restaurant. Even if you write, you can't imagine that, but unfortunately it was the case. We will start again. So much for supporting German restaurants.

Even though we didn't really like it, I think this is the right place if you want to eat Hessian food. And although the location is quite nice, the employees in the service area seem rather annoyed and unfriendly. You don't really feel welcome here.

The Kleinmarkthalle is located in the center of Frankfurt city center; a feast for the eyes and a culinary experience. There is also the “Markt-Stubb” restaurant there. A restaurant with the ambience of the good old days of cosiness. The menu offers hess. Home cooking and tastes very tasty. Prices are okay too. The waitresses are very friendly. My conclusion: highly recommended 👌

We always enjoy going to the Marktstubb. The waitresses are very attentive, quick, friendly and humorous. The food tastes like home-made, is super fresh, plentiful and the daily menu "picks me up every time."

Delicious simple German cuisine served with love at reasonable prices. It's fun to stop by when visiting the market hall or nearby when it's not too crowded because many people know it.

I was there for the first time. It was great. Nice people there. Service super friendly and quick. The food from the daily menu, fresh zander fillet, was very good. Again any time.

We wanted to have breakfast with other guests at 9 a.m. it was still closed and the gentlemen preferred to go for a walk with their cell phones even after 10 minutes it was still closed. Apparently they don't need any guests - the route was never free again!

The food was Amazing and the service was amazing as well, even though we speaked english they still offered amazing service. The restaurant also looked cool.

Very unfriendly waitress who makes sure you eat as quickly as possible and don't want to come back. The fact that my son “just” wanted to eat soup wasn’t enough for her and she felt this (the restaurant was empty at the time). Such service forces create a catastrophic picture of the small market hall. The food is average, but unfortunately it became a minor matter anyway.

Kult und klassische Küche treffen auf eine nette Bedienung

Aufgrund einer Autoimmunerkrankung habe ich höflich nachgefragt ob das Gericht Gluten enthält (ist eines der deklarationspflichtigen Allergene), woraufhin die Bedienung genervt entgegengebracht hat dass sie doch jetzt nicht extra jede Zutat überprüfen wird. Ich kam mir am Ende leider nicht willkommen vor. Das Essen war aber gut.

In der Kleinmarkthalle in Ffm ist diese Marktstubb, ein uriges Lokal in der Kleinmarkthalle, integriert. Das da kein WC vorhanden ist, finde ich bedauerlich. Wir waren mit einer grossen Gruppe da und alle auch die leicht gehbehinderten Menschen mussten über mehrere Treppen auf ein Unschönes Aussen Gelände vorbei an Bettler und Junkys um zum WC Container zu gelangen, eigentlich ein No-Go. Trübt das schöne Ambiente der Kleinmarkthalle. Auch das parken in Frankfurt übertrieben teuer.

Wenn man wieder heimatgefühle haben möchte, sollte man dort hingehen. Urig, freundlicher frankfurterischer Charme. Essen lecker ohne viel Schicknak. Aber hausgemacht z.B. der Kartoffelpüree nix aus der Tüte. Danke

The food was great. The atmosphere was kind of cool with all the old memorabilia and being in the Kleinmarkthalle, but the service was terrible and completely unfriendly. Kinda weird because everyone was otherwise super friendly in the Kleinmarkthalle.

Überhaupt nicht unseren Vorstellungen von einem gut bürgerlichen Restaurant entsprochen. Die Damen vom Personal sind nett, aber die Qualität und Preise der Speisen sind grenzwertig. Saure Nierchen: viel Soße, wenig Nierchen. SÜLZE mit Bratkartoffeln: Bratkartoffeln MINI Portion. Suppe vorweg: dünne Brühe, kaum Einlage.

Man darf nicht vergessen dass die Preise für Frankfurt tatsächlich eher günstig sind. Das Frühstück war allerdings auch dafür eher schlicht. Das Rührei hat nach Fischfilet gerochen und auch so geschmeckt, was auf mangelnde Reinigung der Pfanne schließen lässt. Das ist ein No-go... Die Dame von der Bedienung war auch nicht wirklich nett..um nicht zu sagen eher unfreundlich... und was das an geht ist man in Frankfurt eigentlich nicht so empfindlich, aber sie war wirklich unfreundlich. Ein Besuch reicht...oder lieber direkt woanders hin.. in der Kleinmarkthalle gibt es sehr viele nette und deutlich bessere Alternativen mit tollem Essen und vorallem freundlichen Verkäufern.

Zufällig sind wir hier um die Mittagszeit gelandet, haben sehr lecker u preiswert gegessen, wurden sehr gut bedient- lustig frankfurterisch-. Kommen sehr gern wieder! Weiter so ihr Marktstubbleute😊

Urig ist glaube ich der richtige Ausdruck für das Ambiente Essen gut und bodenständig und unfassbar günstig mitten im Herzen von Frankfurt unten in der kleinen Markthalle toben die "Schönen und Reichen", oben ind der Marktstube ist jeder willkommen. Service barschfreundlich ohne schnickschnack Essen sau lecker

Urige Lokation. Es lohnt sich mal vorbei zu schauen wenn man in der Kleinnarkthalle ist.

Wir sind schon lange Stammgäste, hier kann man futtern wie bei Muddern und in außergewöhnlich em Ambiente wird das Essen von 2 herzlichen Damen an den Tisch gebracht.

Praktisches und preiswertes Restaurant mit Frankfurter Charme und fleißigen und freundlichen Mitarbeitern.

Lage/Kultfaktor/Preis-Leistung einfach top! Durchgehend warme Küche (9 bis 16 Uhr, also auch gut für einen echten Filterkaffee). Bei der Marktstubb im ersten Stock auf der äußeren Seite der Kleinmarkthalle bietet „Essen wie bei Großmutter“ und hat deshalb vermutlich auch viele Stammgäste. Manche von ihnen kommen vermutlich aus der Zeit, als die Werbeplakate an der Wand noch ganz frisch waren. Der Service eher rauh, aber flott. Biere von Binding (war mal Traditionsbrauerei in Frankfurt) aus der Flasche, Riesling ohne weitere Deklaration auf der Karte durchaus gefällig. Das Tagesmenü mit Suppe und Nachtisch erfreute einen unserer Gruppe sehr. Der Gatte genoß das panierte Kotelett mit Bratkartoffeln. Note 1: Besser kriegt man sowas nicht hin. Ich nahm den Grünkohl mit zwei Mettwürsten. Grünkohl ok, Wortscht geht besser (Mettenden gibt es nebenan ja in vielfältiger Auswahl). Zu all dem historischen Ambiete passte freilich die Rechnung, die handschriftlich einem „Hassia-Zettelche“ präsentiert wurde.

Ambiente sehr schön, Grünkohl hätte herzhafter gewürzt sein können

Sagen wir mal so: Chance vertan! Man sitzt direkt über den Marktständen und könnte die frischeste Zutaten verarbeiten, aber stattdessen kommen die Kartoffeln aus dem Sack von der Metro: vorgeschält und nach nichts schmeckend. Der Besuch lohnt sich trotzdem: es hat einen gewissen musealen, konservativen Charme und man begibt sich auf eine Zeitreise, wenn man hier reinkommt. Die Kellnerinnen waren freundlich und schnell. Die Vorsuppe war kräftig gewürzt, auf jeden Fall hatte jeder Virus keine Chance danach sich im Hals festzusetzen. Das Fleisch war zart und lecker. Es war bloß kein Tafelspitz: eher Wade oder so etwas. Der Nachtisch kam direkt von der Höchst: Chemie pur. Aber kann kann noch verhältnismäßig wenig Geld, sehr gut satt werden.

An einem späten Samstagnachmittag herrschte auf der Empore/Galerie der Kleinmarkthalle drangvolle Enge bei bereits dort Speisenden und noch einen freien-Platz-Suchenden und wir waren froh, die etwas biedere "Marktstubb" an einer der Stirnseiten im Obergeschoss zu entdecken und zu Covid 19-Zeiten "mit Abstand" allein an einem Tisch sitzen zu dürfen. Die angebotene reichhaltige Hausmannskost war gut und preislich in Ordnung (Schnitzel und Sülze mit Remouladensauce und Bratkartoffeln), das zweite Schnitzel mussten wir uns sogar einpacken lassen. Der Wirt war freundlich, die etwas schmallippige weibliche Bedienung hatte vermutlich eine harte Woche hinter sich. Das Lokal ist mit allerlei alten Gerätschaften aus der Küche sowie vielen schönen Emailwerbeschildern von annodunnemal dekoriert, was mir gut gefallen hat. Für das WC müssen die allgemeinen Örtlichkeiten im Keller aufgesucht werden.
