We were in Frankfurt for a weekend and ended up here. It was really worth it. A quaint corner pub with delicious food and friendly service. Our son wanted to go back the next evening.

There were four tables occupied, and I ordered one sausage and one haksen, and it came out in exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes. Even worse, they gave the same sausage to a Japanese table that arrived an hour later than us. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I was so pissed, I kept asking them when it would be ready, and they just sighed. The female employee was really working without any work (I'm curious to see how it'll be interpreted), pretending to be busy. It didn't seem to be the owner, but I don't know if it was the kitchen or the staff, but they sent a group away, saying it would take over an hour to cook, even though the tables were empty. The owner would be devastated if he knew his incompetent employees were running the place. The sausages were like the ones you see on sale at Korean supermarkets for 1,000 won. The haksen, which arrived in 1 hour and 20 minutes, was edible, but it was so greasy that two people couldn't even share one. There's no place near Jungang Station that sells haksen, so don't come here. Go to a verified place near the square.

Delicious and well-presented food at a reasonable price.

A very quiet place serving typical German food. When we arrived for dinner without a reservation, there were only a few tables. The food was delicious (it was simple).

The Fennischfuchser, with its dark, rustic interior, a relic from the days when payments were still made in marks and pfennigs, hasn't changed in 40 years. But the city has changed: The Fennischfuchser certainly has hardly any local regulars anymore, and the clientele from the 1980s is likely extinct. Business focuses on trade fair guests and Japanese or Chinese tourists looking for something "typically German." During trade fairs, it's impossible to reserve a table because this clientele takes priority. The supposedly "traditional cuisine" is geared toward mass production. Before 2022, it was at least inexpensive; the Fennischfuchser was fine if you wanted to meet up near the train station in a hipster-free environment and have something to eat and a beer—a decent pub. However, it's always been possible to get lukewarm food served because the microwave wasn't set correctly. In the wake of inflation in recent years, prices have been drastically raised to a level that no longer offers any advantage. You can get a schnitzel with fries without salad for 16.80 euros, a side salad costs an additional four euros – that's no longer justifiable given the extremely mediocre quality of the reheated food. Any average home cook could make every dish on the menu much better at home. Dried fries, undercooked ready-made dumplings, salads from a bucket, tough pork knuckle – you can offer that to casual customers you know won't be coming back. It doesn't win regulars. Even dishes that were fine a few years ago are now completely botched. I was extremely embarrassed recently when I recommended a pork pepper I'd ordered once to a colleague. I got a dish with a creamy sauce and green peppercorns that turned out quite well. What was served, however, was a plate on which the noodles were swimming in their cooking water. And the otherwise not unpleasant hostess, Stefanie, refused to admit the mistake, claiming it was the right thing to do. She's the only one doing the service, and you can't blame her for sometimes being stressed, but such indifference to the guest is a serious faux pas. Despite the cozy retro atmosphere, we won't be coming back. It's a shame about the bad impression Chinese tourists, who are generally discerning eaters, get of German cuisine here.

No.. It's just delicious!!!! Even if you eat until you burst, it's cheap and worth coming here at least once!!! ** The haksen crust is honestly a bit hard.. I admit it, but everything else is really delicious

I was very satisfied. My wife pointed out the meaty smell of the haksen, but as an average Korean man, I didn't mind. Putting the slightly hardened haksen in my mouth and melting it while drinking beer was sooooo good! Up until my third day in Frankfurt, this was the best. And the employee? The owner? I'm so grateful to them for chasing away a homeless man who chased me into the restaurant because I was Asian.

Very tasty and friendly. It's really nice to have a place in the center of Frankfurt with authentic German cuisine and reasonable prices. The knuckle of pork with red cabbage is especially delicious here.

Visited again after 7 years, the food is just as delicious, the beer too and it retains the old charm of a restaurant.

This pub is around the corner from the central station and close to a number of hotels. The food here was very good and fairly priced. The service was very friendly, too. Menus come in English and you can pay by cash or card.

It's very popular with locals and was crowded. The staff were very busy. I had trouble asking for payment even though I called out multiple times, so I gave it one star.

Both dishes were delicious. “Juicy ribs” were juicy and tender. Pig knuckles were also very tender and juicy.

It was conveniently located near the central station. I liked the slightly dark, pub-like feel. The food was just average, but the Haksen was a bit disappointing.

The food was delicious. I had a beef goulash W/ spaetzle and a super amazing gravy. Our waitress “Stephanie” was super sweet, alone and killed it! We will return and enjoy this little gem!!

Having just returned from a weeks City break in Frankfurt,we reflect on how few actual German restaurants there were in the immediate area of our Hotel. Fennischfucher was only two minutes walk away. Inside, they had clearly tried to reproduce a traditional German Gasthof/restaurant, but that looked a bit out of place and dated to be honest. Strangely, the majority of the other diners were Chinese (And a lone American female)... The Menu was good and Service was excellent,despite there being only one lone waitress... Our meals were tasty,though portions were a little large for us.. Sadly, they had no coffee available (?) but their ice creams were wonderful... The lack of coffee meant we chose to return to our Hotel for Coffee and drinks,rather than linger in the Restaurant... Overall, it was a decent place to eat, but not one we`d specifically return to.

If you want to taste German food, it's recommended. It doesn't look like anything at first glance. But once you sit there, it's super cozy ☺️

A lovely place with really good food – and the true star was almost our waitress! We had just arrived in the city after spending several hours on a bus, and she made us feel so welcome. Great place for traditional food and beer. It doesn't look like much at first glance, but the atmosphere is cool. Don't be put off by the area. The plus is that you can pay by card and she speaks English communicatively.

This is our go to place near the train station when we stop over in Frankfurt. The locals are usually in there for a meal and a beer and the service is always friendly. All the food is tasty but not fancy or ostentatious. This is your neighborhood restaurant and it feels like it. It’s a place to come and enjoy a meal and company with food and drink. It’s hard to find a decent German food place near the train station in Frankfurt but this place is it.

Down-to-earth German restaurant in the Bahnhofsviertel with age-appropriate furnishings. The food was tasty, but unfortunately there was a scandal when paying. There was only a receipt and no entertainment receipt. Even when asked, it was not possible to replace the normal receipt with an entertainment receipt. (By the way, the same drama happened at the next table.) Especially at trade fairs, I expect to be asked whether I need a receipt or whether the normal receipt is sufficient. There was always demand in all the other restaurants visited during the trade fair. When asked about this, the waitress reacted extremely irritably and also very unfriendly. It was recommended to avoid the restaurant and never come back. This experience disqualifies the restaurant for the future. Even in times of scarce and stressed staff, dealing with guests like this is not okay. Friendliness and service orientation would be good for the restaurant.

Ok is the best to describe. Authentic schnitzel, but firm and we waited at least 5 minutes after coming in to get seated.

Sat down around 6pm to order. There was a total of 4 people inside, 2 individuals and 1 table of a couple. 2 tables ordered drinks and the lady took 4 times to get it somewhat right, she forgot my drink and the other table was still waiting for his beer 20 minutes later - it never came, he paid his bill and walked out. Considering the few people inside she seemed overwhelmed, I dare wonder how it would be if it was actually busy. Ordered a baked Camembert to begin and when I was done the server asked what my main was despite having written it down before. After another 10 minutes I was asked what my main course was again, I left without getting a main course after having only had a starter. On the outset I was truly looking forward to this however the conclusion is that it desperately needs improvement in service. One could be forgiven to think that language was a barrier but sadly thats not even the case. I truly hope they manage to sort the service as it has potential to be great. Maybe the server was having a truly bad day but there is no justification for that lack of service with that few people.

German economy, rustic and regionally located near the train station. Price-performance fits! There were two of us having lunch. The service was friendly and quick. The Frankfurter Schnitzel with green sauce and fried potatoes that we ordered was also served relatively quickly and tasted great. The soup included in the price was a bit salty. The tasty binding tasted even better.

The atmosphere is simple but very clean and organized. The decor is typical German. We ordered pork knuckle with potatoes. It was very tasty. As a suggestion, it would be good to have a window in the door so that the public can see if the restaurant is open without having to open the door.

Great place for good authentic German food! It’s a great mix of locals and tourists, so you know it must be good. They do accept cards for payment now. When busy service will be a bit slow as they only have 2 ladies working the tables and bar — but worth it if you can be patient!

I would strongly advise against visiting this restaurant, especially if you are a tourist. Despite finishing our meal and even leaving a tip for the waiter, we were treated with blatant disrespect. It was evident that the waiter prioritised orders from local customers, leaving our requests until the very last moment—particularly when I asked for a takeaway box. What left me truly stunned was being forced to pack up my own leftovers, as the waiter made no effort to assist. To make matters worse, when we left, local patrons were warmly thanked, yet we received no such courtesy. The waiter made direct eye contact with us but chose to remain silent, offering no acknowledgment whatsoever.

Quaint, typical Frankfurt restaurant not far from the main train station. Fast service - even when the house is full. Simple but very tasty dishes in large portions at acceptable prices. The pub atmosphere is traditional, but the audience is very international. In short: a highly recommended, typical Frankfurt restaurant - we were very satisfied!

The hamburger steak was dry and I ordered Hakseon, but they gave me another menu. When I asked again, they said it was sold out.. They told me that when I ordered, but they left behind all the dry meat I didn't know the name of. I don't like it.

It seems to be a restaurant where tourists and locals visit together. The price of the food seems reasonable, but the food tasted good. In particular, the sauce was delicious, and the seasoning was not salty and just right, which was nice. There were many reviews saying that the food came out very slowly, but in my case, I was surprised that it came out very quickly. I guess the food comes out slowly when there are a lot of customers at once. There are also many people who eat alone, so please keep in mind that it is a restaurant where you can eat comfortably alone.

Best restaurant in Frankfurt for real German food.

We went here inbetween trains. Had 2.5 hours to kill. It’s a traditional pub, with a very nice aesthetic. We got in were greeted nicely. Ordered drinks and food fairly quickly. Drinks came out, 45 mins passed, the bar tender came over asked what we had ordered again, about 10 minutes after the cook started making it, then came out 15 - 20 after that. Our train departure time got a little to close to comfort. When checking out we asked to split the check two ways, which was met with an audible frustration, and then she angrily asked what we had, got it wrong and wouldn’t listen. She also had been drowning beer while we were there. The food was fine the atmosphere was good, but would not recommend as a tourist.

Jagerschnitzel was crispy and flavorful. The mushroom sauce on top set it off. The Spatzle was kinda dry I finished the whole plate and I would come back for more schnitzel. The other items sounded good too They do take credit card

A classic 'German' restaurant with good food at fair prices. The team takes care of the guests. It's just a bit dim and looks like the 'Alte Jägerstuben' in the country, but hey...classic German and not uncomfortable

It is appreciated to arrive in Germany and be able to eat and enjoy a typically German restaurant, its food. Everything is very good... Although it takes us a bit to get used to the different flavors we have in Spain. Very good attention.

One of the last real German family-run inns with guesthouses in Frankfurt. Authentic and honest. Not everything is perfect, but none of us are.

Arrived late into Frankfurt Train station and found this place nearby. It was a little dark and intimidating at night but once we went in, there were groups of locals having a beer and hanging out. We were one of the few tables on a Tuesday night and we ordered a few appetizers and entrees. I got the baked camembert with cranberry sauce and oh my goodness it was so good! Our group loves cheese and this was crispy on the outside, melted softness on the inside and delicious with the cranberry sauce! I had the Hunter Schnitzel and fried to perfection with spaetzle and the mushroom sauce was done well. It had a small restaurant vibe with a bar area and the service was friendly and the pace is a little slow so it’s nice to hang out with friends and have a relaxing meal. Price was good for the portions we received.

I don't even know where to start!!! The cordonbleu we ordered was RAW! Ok, it can happen. But then I expect an apology from the waitress! Offended, she took the plate away without making a sound and came back after 3 minutes with the words "OK, there's a 5 euro discount" Um, sorry? Why they didn't come forward with the plate... We tried to make the waitress aware of this for a long time, but she was more busy sitting at the slot machine than working in a customer-oriented manner. When I said I wouldn't pay for this meal they said ok, you never have to come back. (we wouldn't have done that anyway) :D My husband is still sick and struggling with stomach problems. The dishes only came to the table lukewarm. We also ordered a pork and a chicken schnitzel. When it came to the table you couldn't tell us which was pork and which was chicken schnitzel. Never, never again!

Excellent German restaurant near the central train station I went to this restaurant for dinner with my girlfriend during a day in Frankfurt am Main. The restaurant is located not far from the city's central train station. The entrance is located on a corner of the building. The interior is large and furnished in German style with beautiful wooden niches. I had a shank with sauerkraut accompanied by a beer produced in the area. I found the meat excellent and tasty. The prices are very good considering the centrality of the place which, at first glance, doesn't seem like anything special and, instead, it was an excellent discovery.

What a quaint corner pub...in the middle of Frankfurt...with a brilliant flair...delicious lunch at absolutely fair and down-to-earth prices...nothing is fake here...the kitchen offers delicious home-style cooking from schnitzel...or anything else As shown here, goulash with noodles... and a tasty soup of the day... the beer served is a fresh beer from the tap... the service is quick... attentive... and harmonious with the entire restaurant... all around a great location that is unfortunately very rare to find today... it's just a shame that parking in the big city is more like a roulette... and therefore it's not that easy for non-locals to get there... but nothing Nevertheless: please continue like this for a long time...😋🍻👍👍👍

The foods are so sour,every dish tastes sour! The service is poor, My coat hang on the restaurant wall’s hanger,and it is gone!! We required help, the restaurant responds cold attitude and no empathy at all! Be careful if you still decide to come here!

We ate at this restaurant a few nights ago. The food was ok. The service was mediocre. The terrible part was that after we ate and were waiting for 20 minutes to pay I SAW A MOUSE go out from under one table to another. I'm horrified and disgusted that I ever ate there.

It's very rare that I complain, but what we experienced in this restaurant today makes you wonder what the health department is doing. We let the video do the talking! And when we brought up the topic of mice, they just said we were sorry! It's a shame for this rustic pub

Great service, pleasant atmosphere

Sono stato in questo ristorante per cena con la mia ragazza in occasione di una giornata a Francoforte sul Meno. Il locale si trova poco distante dalla stazione ferroviaria centrale della città. L'ingresso si trova su un angolo del palazzo. L'interno è grande e arredato in stile tedesco con anche delle bellissime nicchie in legno. lo ho preso uno stinco con crauti accompagnato da una birra prodotta in zona. Ho trovato la carne ottima e saporita. I prezzi sono buonissimi considerando la centralità del locale che, a prima vista, non sembra nulla di speciale e, invece, è stata un'ottima scoperta.

The food is tasty and sufficient for normally hungry people. The rump steak was cooked to perfection. The service was friendly. We didn't have to wait long for drinks and food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is rustic.

Uriges Lokal in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt. Das Ambiente ist schon etwas älter, aber sehr sauber. Das Essen wurde zügig aufgenommen und serviert. War sehr lecker und außerordentlich gross. Zu aller Überraschung gab es sogar eine Kartoffelsuppe inklusive, gehört zum Mittagskarte. Die Bedienung ist eine Personalunion von Kellnerin, Zapferin und Köchin. Respekt.

The place is a trash. The entrance smells urine. The service is too slow. The tables are dirty. The food is ok but the portions are small for the price. The atmosphere is creepy with all these dead animal around. Not going again.

I understand that the waitress is overwhelmed by the people and because each one is her mother's father and each one was asking her for a different thing. But the truth is that it took more than 40 minutes to serve us the food when other tables that had ordered less time ago were being served earlier. For me to bring the beer they were very fast and I have to say that the beer was very good, but the food is another matter. We ordered the Schnitzel and the knuckle. Regarding the Sysme issue, it was quite good, quite acceptable, I recommend it. But the knuckle was quite chewy and cold on top of that. I empathize perfectly with the waitress, but I don't consider taking more than 40 minutes to be an acceptable time.

This was the best food I’ve had so far in Europe. My heritage is German Russian and I felt right at home at this small restaurant. The food was very well seasoned and just amazing overall. I had the pork filet with spetzels and was delighted. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

The worst pork knuckle i had ever never had in my life. The skin is so hard i couldnt even swallow it. Its over cook. Only the foreigners go there.
