The food at the restaurant is really delicious, and the service from most of the staff is very good. I actually really enjoy coming here.
However, the behavior of the young man who helps out is completely unacceptable.
There were several inappropriate comments like, "That's not much of a tip today." - Tips are given according to the service.
When you've already waited a very long time for your food—in our case, about 45 minutes—he comes to the table and says things like, "Yes, you've been waiting a long time," only to then launch into a monologue about math formulas or other topics. It just seems completely out of place in those situations.
At a neighboring table sat an older gentleman who obviously had diabetes. Because his drinks took so long to arrive, he drank his own iced tea. The young man reacted completely inappropriately, repeatedly asking the man why he brought his own drinks instead of simply serving the ones he had ordered.
He also likes to sit down at guests' tables without asking, even when they are having private conversations. I also find that very disturbing.
These are all experiences from several restaurant visits, and only the most striking ones. Unfortunately, inappropriate comments are part of the restaurant experience when the boy is there.
Very extensive menu.
We had a sushi mix for starters. The main course was crispy duck, which was good but a bit greasy in places. The portions were generous.
The ambiance was okay...
The food is delicious. The owners are friendly and put a lot of effort into the preparation. You have to wait a bit, but it's worth it because much of it is homemade.
Super authentic, lively and fun place. Delicious food served in great atmosphere. Honestly, it might be the best Italian place in town.
It seems they only took cash before, but now they also accept cards.
One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten, the staff is very attentive and friendly 😊, my beef carpaccio is legendary, definitely worth a visit, or rather several ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hosteria Fratelli in Munich is a true gem! From the moment you arrive, you feel like you're in Italy – not only because of the fantastic food, but also because of the warm and welcoming service. A special mention goes to waiter Gianni, whose charm, humor, and absolute professionalism made the evening unforgettable. In short: A must for anyone who loves great Italian food and impeccable service!
The place was incredibly cozy and comfortably furnished. The two ladies who worked there were both super friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, we weren't hungry, but I ordered tomato soup anyway. I think they call it "Paradeisersuppe" or something similar. What can I say? I think it was the best tomato soup I've ever eaten, and since I love this soup, I've had quite a few over the years. :-)
It's such a shame we only discovered this inn at the end of our stay. If we vacation in the area again, we'll definitely stop by.
All the best to you and continued success!!!
We went there for lunch. The lunch special is good. Pizza including salad for €12.90.
The pizza tasted good, but it could have been taken out of the wood-fired oven a little earlier. The crust was quite burnt.
The salad was also in long strips and couldn't be eaten without a knife.
An Italian Restaurant of Absolute Excellence
During our stay in Munich, we stumbled upon Ristorante De Vivos on Plinganserstrasse quite by chance – and what can we say? It was a culinary revelation.
We've never eaten Italian food of this caliber in Germany before. Here, they don't just "interpret Italian cuisine," but truly cook it like in Italy – authentic, precise, and with uncompromising quality.
Whether it's homemade pasta, lasagna, pizza, fresh fish, or meat dishes: everything is cooked to perfection, exceptionally aromatic, and of noticeably the highest quality ingredients. No compromises, no cheap imitations – just genuine Italian cuisine, the kind you usually only find south of the Alps.
The excellent wine selection also deserves special mention: superbly curated, with expert and honest advice.
The service is exceptionally attentive, warm, and professional – unobtrusive yet present, with a keen sense for the guests' needs. You feel welcome and exceptionally well cared for from the very first moment.
This restaurant is absolutely top-tier and, in our opinion, clearly one of the best Italian restaurants – not just in Munich, but in all of Germany.
We live in Switzerland, but one thing is for sure:
We'll definitely be back – if only to eat here again.
Thank you so much to the entire team – a true gem!
A super friendly team with excellent food! Whether homemade pasta, pizza or antipasti, here you get authentic Italian food in a stylish atmosphere! 5 stars more than deserved.
Unfortunately, we didn't find the price justified for the food. If you have no prior experience with fine dining, you'll probably be satisfied. However, if you have something to compare it to, you'll realize there's room for improvement—both in the food and the service. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the price.
I had the four-course set menu, and my husband chose three dishes from the à la carte menu. The portions were ample—I was even more than full! As I mentioned, the food was tasty. They tried to incorporate some unusual touches. But I wouldn't call it "Michelin-star quality," as some reviews here occasionally suggest.
We were disappointed with the wines by the glass. Apart from the Bacchus, we didn't enjoy the rest.
The service was friendly, but unfortunately inattentive. Drinks weren't refilled even when glasses were empty, and one glass wasn't properly clean. At times, things seemed a bit disorganized.
... Furthermore, there was a family celebration in the main hall with a horde of children who didn't know how to behave, and their parents didn't seem to want to teach them any manners. A reminder from the staff regarding the noise level would have been appreciated.
