The visit was worth it! We truly enjoyed the food. From the friendly welcome, to the delicious starters, to the outstanding main courses. As a family, we were not only full but also happy and satisfied. We'd be happy to return.
Great! This isn't a tourist trap, but a proprietor who takes his business seriously and seems to care about his quality.
The kids wanted to go, and I didn't regret it. Besides the good food, they also served a beer!
Very good and fresh food. Service is very friendly and fast. You don't have to wait long for the food. Everything is clean and the service is excellent.
We went to HaldiSpoon yesterday because of the good reviews and unfortunately we have to say that we can only understand them to a limited extent.
The food:
We thought the concept was great, different sauces could be combined with chicken or different meat alternatives as desired. The Naanizza also looked really interesting, but we didn't dare try it and stuck with tried-and-tested curry dishes, maybe a mistake. The dishes themselves, ordered as “medium hot”, were not remotely spicy. Maybe you should rethink your declaration, there are also categories like mild, which would have adequately described the level of spiciness. We both had the butter curry sauce, interestingly enough it tasted completely different for both of us, and it tasted much better for my (half-Indian) companion than for me. Where that came from remained a mystery to us. Unfortunately, the mango lassi I had was absolutely bland, with lumps and little mango flavor. I can't recommend it. Overall, the taste was mediocre for us at best.
About the staff:
The young woman who greeted us should urgently look for another job because her current one is obviously making her very unhappy. She was far from the warmth described in the other reviews, but instead exuded a bad mood and displeasure. Perhaps it has to be said that we were there spontaneously and didn't have a reservation, which is understandably difficult given the size of the restaurant. We were then seated at a table of four with two other guests, which was completely okay (for us, I can't speak for the others ;-)). Tables for two became available relatively quickly, so we asked if we could move around. The waitress wanted to check whether there was a reservation; But we never got the information; newly arrived guests were simply placed there. Since there were quite a few changes while we were there, it seems unlikely that everyone else had reservations. But even if so, an information that unfortunately this is not possible would have been polite and appropriate. The icing on the cake, however, was that she sprayed the second half of the table with disinfectant since the people sitting next to us were finished, while we were logically still sitting next to it and also had food in front of us. As much as I'm in favor of using disinfectants, that's just not possible.
Overall, a rather disappointing stay, but luckily there are plenty of alternatives in Cologne.
Only when you've experienced hell can you truly appreciate heaven.
I was completely put off by another restaurant, whose name I don't want to mention here.
I felt so sick afterward, and then I arrived here at Ganesha, hoping that my evening would still be saved for me and my wife.
We were kindly invited in while we were still standing at the door, and our well-being was very well taken care of. It's really nice how much time they take for their guests to make sure everything is just right.
The meal itself was an absolute dream. We will come back anytime.
You really saved our evening.
Namaste 🙏
The food is truly delicious. We've been here twice. The ambiance is okay. The street is too noisy for outdoor seating, but that's not the restaurant's fault. The service is a bit reserved but friendly, and the prices are reasonable.
One star deducted, however, is for the music, which is certainly authentic but difficult for European ears to tolerate in the long run. Perhaps things could be changed. Otherwise, I don't know if I'd want to come back.
We love raw meatballs as a family and we don't forget to try new places. First of all, a very friendly atmosphere, delicious and fresh raw meatballs and reasonable prices. Frankly, we were very pleased, we recommend you to try it.
Unfortunately, the quality of the pizza dough has declined recently. The bases are so thin and soggy that eating them becomes an adventure, which you can also see from the customers.
