Beautiful restaurant, we had a great dinner here. We dont speak german, but the staff speaks english as well, which makes this one of the best places to eat in Dortmund. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Dortmund.

Visit 11/2024 Reservation via telephone: great Great, personal service. Great ambience. We had the Pulpo and Tagliatelle di Manzo. The pulp was very good. The sugo with the pasta as well. The beef didn't taste that good. Wine - Sauvignon - was very good. The price of the wine is very fair at €27.50. Dessert cannoli were good. The cafe was also very good.

I live in California and I've eaten in many Italian restaurants around the world. But this was by far my favorite. Never thought I would find such a gem in the middle of Germany. Friendly and very prompt service. Highly recommend this place!!!

Sufficient number of parking spaces in front of the Emillio!! Well-arranged menu, the dishes are fresh and very tasty! The wine selection leaves nothing to be desired. The service can't be beat. Paying with a card is also lightning fast. The prices are totally justified and fair. We'll definitely come back.

Einfach nur top! Spontan nach einem BVB Spiel dahin, und absolut begeistert! Herzliche Mitarbeiter, das Essen war total lecker und absolut empfehlenswert. Tiramisu war der perfekte Abschluss und vom Chef persönlich noch herzlich verabschiedet. Der empfohlene Wein war auch perfekt zum Essen - ein rundum gelungen Abend da :)

We stayed at Emilio on a Friday for our 3rd wedding anniversary. Very spontaneously we got a table in the wine bar (unfortunately the main restaurant was already occupied). Overall, the Emilio is divided into two rooms of approximately the same size. There is a kitchen in every room, and there is open cooking in the wine bar. We received a warm and warm welcome, a delicious smell of food also greeted us. The acoustics are surprisingly pleasant: even though we were sitting quite close to the neighboring table with four other guests, we were able to have a relaxed and quiet conversation. The map is updated daily and manageable. First we ordered an antipasti platter for two people, which was extensive and, above all, very varied. The wine list leaves nothing to be desired. We then decided on two meat dishes, which received 10/10 stars. Rarely eaten so well. The owner and his wife gave us a wonderful evening. We would like to recommend this restaurant! Best regards

I found it yesterday by accident, but unfortunately when I got there it turned out to be full and fully booked. Fortunately, the very nice waiter showed great empathy, made sure we would be ready in a given time and offered us a table! Thank you very much for your huge heart, delicious food and wonderful atmosphere! I recommend it to everyone, a hungry and cold customer from Poland :)

I was won over by this restaurant. I went there with my son because he had good reviews, and I can confirm it. The setting is super nice, even if we didn't book they found us a place, the waiters were super helpful as well as the boss, the meal was really good. I highly recommend

Yesterday Friday evening we spent a wonderful evening with a large group in the Emilio restaurant. We go to Emilio's regularly and are always impressed by the service, quality of the food and the overall concept. I can only warmly recommend a visit and look forward to the next meal! ;)

We had a more or less involuntary stay in Dortmund - but the city's reputation increased immensely through our meal at Emilio's. I actually always have something to complain about, but I would like to give this 10 stars 🙈 We didn't have a reservation on Friday evening, but we still got a place - which I think is very good but I don't understand at all. The service had a few teething problems, but was increasingly friendly😁 It is the best Italian restaurant I know in Germany so far!

I had the smoked salmon tortellini with lobster sauce for the starter and a fillet with red wine sauce for the main course. It was very tasty.

The service was very reserved and reserved (to put it kindly), not a friendly word, not a smile, nothing like that. The waitress hardly paid any attention to my girlfriend and me. Even the simplest serving rules were not applied, such as putting down the beer glass and leaving the water bottle somewhere on the table. No water was put into the glasses either. My plate was taken from the table while I was still eating. I know it completely differently. The salmon with orange sauce we ordered was a big disappointment as it was served very dry and completely unseasoned. Neither pepper nor salt helped here. The side dish was exceptionally good (a tiny bit of vegetables). On the other hand, the quantity of our meal was very, very small, but the price was unreasonably very, very high. The many tables were too close together. The noise level was extremely high (too many tables in the small room). That's why it was difficult to have a conversation. The service, the food and the ambience still leave a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I cannot agree with the positive reviews online in any way. Therefore, we only stayed at this restaurant as long as necessary. We will avoid this restaurant in the future, it's a shame for the time lost and money wasted unnecessarily.

Staying in Dortmund tonight and the food options were not great. I googled ‘best Italian restaurant in Dortmund’ and it came up with Emilio in Kaiserstrasse. There were many diners outside but I selected to eat inside and I wasn’t disappointed; the chef (Sayimo Bufo) cooked me jumbo king prawns in a broth with olives and chillis followed by Octopus with a vegetable medley. I travel a lot for work and I have to say that this is the best Italian food that I’ve had in a long while. I’ll be back…tomorrow!

Today we had a really nice evening at Emilio, an Italian restaurant here at the end of Kaiserstrasse in Dortmund. Really great Italian restaurant. Jan is an outstanding waiter and accompanied us very well throughout the evening. Obviously you could give “ambience” less than 5 stars, but Dortmund city center is not the Côte d’Azure in this respect. 5/5 in all points, even if the fire department drives past the outside terrace with flashing lights. :)

Very pleased the first time, very disappointed the second time! The service was really subpar, totally confused and had no overview. So we sat around for a long time without drinks, only had a starter plate (which wasn't as tasty as we remembered) + aperitif and no chance to order the main courses... "I'll be right back" was the standard sentence... with which we were put off. At some point we had enough and went to enjoy a delicious meal somewhere else. Our conclusion: Stressful atmosphere, tables are way too close, you basically sit on the lap of the person sitting next to you + unprofessional service. We won't do that to ourselves again :-(

Whenever I evaluate a restaurant I do it by searching; quality/price. This one in particular seems very expensive to me for the quality of the product. Furthermore, they should confirm the order before ordering and even more so if they are people who do not know the language. Everything was very, very tasty and the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant and menu are manageable in size and express “quality rather than quantity”. Only the noise level is very high, which became tiring over the evening. If you're not that sensitive, you should definitely stop by Emilio!

One of the best restaurants I've ever visited, very, very tasty food, something special... Homemade pasta, very harmonious atmosphere, funny and nice waiters. Not intrusive. (very important) A special running gag.. 🙊😅📜. A star deduction for the ambience because it is a bit cramped (but that doesn't have to be a disadvantage) and because it sometimes feels a bit cool coming in through the door...it was pretty cool that summer day.

Apulian waiter, pride of the south with his multilingual Laura.. "with his decisive speech he manages to sell you from the initial aperitif up to the dessert and espresso made with his hands". What he confidently recommends turns out to be really good. So excellent cuisine and excellent service. A beautiful experience!

Today we went out for dinner after the European Championship game between Türkiye and Georgia. After the game we made reservations for five people (four adults and one child). We were greeted politely and warmly by the waiter. A high chair was immediately provided for our child and our little one was spoken to in a friendly manner by the waiters. We noticed that the menu was small, which indicates the quality of the food. There is also a day ticket. I chose the lasagna, which was made from pure beef. The fish was fresh and boneless, and the vegetables were also freshly prepared. We also ordered tagliatelle with beef tips. The entire meal was super tasty. I have to say that I have never eaten such delicious and fresh lasagna! I can only rave about the dessert and the coffee. Everything was incredibly delicious! The waiters and ambience were excellent. Jan was our trusted man on Saturday evening March 16th, 2024. And our trust was not disappointed! It had been years since we last visited Emilio. We had very positive memories, which were confirmed again that evening. We ate very well and deliciously, the wines recommended to go with the meal were excellent and Jan presented and served the whole thing in a very charming, polite and explanatory manner. The atmosphere was very pleasant and colorful, from a large family with a small child to our neighbors, who were both over 80 and had been eating at the same place for 40 years, as they told us. That's exactly how I imagine an evening for two! We'd love to come back! P.S. Parking at Betten Bormann probably won't be a problem ;-)

By far the best restaurant in the Kaiserstraße district. Excellent service, fine food and a noble ambience. It's best to reserve during the week.

The food was great, I would have liked the vegetarian options to have more of a selection. But there was even a vegan dish (pasta with tomato-vegetable sauce). It would be great on the menu if the classic “white” sauces stated that they were tomato-based. The Apérol Spritz was very weak and clearly too small for the price. Nice atmosphere, nice crowd, good service.
