The tapas are nothing special. The vegetable kebabs include pickled cucumbers, pickled peppers and silver onions - everything on the outside is glass, nothing fresh. The croquettes with spinach and feta - very mushy and where was the feta...? The only really tasty thing was the Serrano ham. You don't have to go here. Freiburg has so many better places to eat!

Service was terrible. We waited for what seemed like hours a the order was incorrect even after we explained what the issue was. The waitstaff was rude and annoyed that we were asking for exactly what was ordered. Would never come back there again

We've been there several times over the last few years. all the tapas, the Rioja Tempranillo recommended by the house, the whole ambience is just great - everything is extremely clean and loving, at the same time laid back and not fancy, we love it here. Be sure to enjoy one of the delicious desserts at the end!

A bad place. Small tapas, the vermouth is great and everything is very expensive. 67 euros 2 dwarf vermouths and 2 tapas. In addition, the waiter was rude, dry and not a word of language. For Spaniards or those who want to try Spanish gastronomy, stay away from this place!

Delicious tapas, very large squid plate, good Spanish red wine, not more expensive.

The price/performance ratio was rather poor. Long wait time, even though it was quiet. Service was friendly, but the timing was poor. Tapas arrived one after the other with a delay.

The two of us were there on Good Friday. It is clean and nicely decorated. We tried a variety of tapas. Olives, chicken, prawns, aioli, ham, meatballs, pimentos and potatoes. Everything was delicious, but our insider tip is the mushrooms! I can't remember ever eating mushrooms this good. Dipping the oil with the mushroom broth with bread afterwards was a dream. The tinto and sangria were served with fresh, sweet apples and orange pieces. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Clear recommendation!

We had a very tasty meal there. The gentleman who was responsible for the kitchen and the young woman who looked after the guests were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend stopping by there and enjoying the delicacies. We'd love to come back!

A Mediterranean flair paired with nice, friendly service and an excellent range of many delicacies, whether meat or fish, there are even tapas here😋. A wine with the meal rounded off the evening successfully. We would be happy to be guests at Alma Libre again.

Based on the numerous positive reviews, I was looking forward to dining at this restaurant – unfortunately, I was bitterly disappointed. It all started off promisingly: The restaurant was busy, the atmosphere was cosy, and the ambiance, albeit a bit kitschy, was quite pleasant. A delicious aioli with bread was served first, but from that moment on, things went downhill rapidly. The chiporones were still acceptable, while the pimientos were undercooked and tasteless. The patatas bravas arrived cold inside – and the sauce was anything but a real patatas bravas sauce, but rather reminiscent of a cheap ready-made sauce from the supermarket. Anyone who has ever been to Spain knows that there is no comparison whatsoever. The meat was dry and tough, and the other dishes were also unimpressive. When I complained, the waitress tried to justify it by saying that everyone has different tastes. That may be true, but if potatoes are cold inside, they'll stay cold. At a time like this, they should have at least offered a replacement, a free dessert, or an adjustment to the bill—especially since the prices were far from cheap. Overall, this was a miserable experience, which again makes me doubt these reviews in general.
