The food was a delight! A wonderful tapas restaurant with an excellent ambience and service! Simply recommended.

Simply great! Ate very tasty baby calamaris, batatas bravas and steamed vegetables. Even seemingly mundane things like the latter are absolutely delicious. For me the best Spaniard in Germany so far! Unfortunately, because of all the deliciousness, I forgot to take photos.

Super attentive service, great food!! Grilled baby calamari, amazing. Great mussels, great children's menu. You sit adequately and appropriately, the toilets are very nicely decorated with traditional tiles, we will definitely come back. You too?!

The food is the best Spanish food I know in Hanover and I write that as half-Spanish. Not the cheapest restaurant in Hanover. Also, always make a reservation otherwise it won't work. Unfortunately, public holidays are closed. I can understand for the families of the employees as a guest... Food as usual, excellent! Price very high.

Not bad at all. But I always expect something special from a restaurant. The small squids were tasty but the other food was ordinary. There were many people in the hall on the second floor, who were placed close to each other. It was tight and there was not enough air. Not all waiters were friendly.

We had a lovely evening at El Cortijo yesterday. The food was of very good quality and super tasty. Everyone was enthusiastic about the starters and main courses. The service was very attentive and quick, even though the restaurant was packed to capacity.

All the tapas were excellent and the steak was also perfect. The red wine sauce was sensationally delicious. We had a great evening here.

One of the best Spanish restaurants we have ever been to. The super delicious aioli tastes divinely good, as do the different tapas, the sangria and the Spanish beer. We will definitely come back again and again.

The most important thing: eat really good. Ambience very nice and cozy. There is still room for improvement in the service. Our service was a bit peculiar. At least the boss did a good job afterwards. 👍 Hence all the stars.

Four of us sat outside. The ambience right on the thoroughfare in Altwarmbüchen is not that great. In addition, at times you will be bombarded by loud music from the adjacent fitness center. That might not please everyone. The service was attentive when we arrived, the food order was taken quickly and the food was delivered in a timely manner. Afterwards, however, they neglected to ask again about any further drink or food requests. With an outside temperature of 28 degrees, there was definitely a need. The quality of the food was otherwise good. The restaurant is recommended.

1st visit invites you for many more.. I'm already looking forward to the next evening

If you like tapas, you can't miss El Cortijo. I can't rate the ambience inside; outside you sit separated from the street in front of the restaurant by a hedge, so you can easily hide it; similar to the neighboring fitness studio. The food is the focus here and rightly so. The tapas menu is extensive, mini calamari, mussels, anchovies, grilled shrimps, garlic chicken and much more are offered and enjoyed.

After a long time, another lovely evening at El Cortijo. Attentive staff and a cooperative boss. Thanks to Juan - also for the short conversation.

We ordered tapas and they were very good. Maybe pay more attention to asking for drinks again.

The other reviews are not misleading. The food is excellent, the service was very friendly and the food came quickly. You can't ask for more.

Always a well-rounded affair. Steak is on point and the service is always attentive. My personal favorite is the pepper steak in cream sauce. Coconut ice cream or Creme Catalan is always an option for dessert. Anyone who is a fan of presentation will be happy about the meat skewers. I recommend making a reservation as the location is always busy.

Quality of the food is very good. But too many tables outside for the number of staff, who are very friendly. So bring your time (only one person will collect).

Considering the quantity, the tapas are sometimes too expensive! 4 bacon-wrapped dates €5.90. 2 small slices of fried Manchego €7.50. I don't understand why the aioli has flavor enhancers according to the menu. To be honest, I find it quite a shame. At least it was put on the table for free with very tasty bread. When our meal was coming to an end - mind you, we weren't finished yet - the waitress wanted to start clearing away. I would have at least asked if it could be something else. So the feeling arose that sitting for a longer period of time, even with another drink, was not desirable.

Once again “to the Spaniard” with family. All of course the garlic chili prawns + A few little things. As always, delicious.

I'm not a strict vegan, but try to eat vegan if it's not too complicated. Unfortunately there is no indication in the menu as to what is vegan, so one star is deducted. Based on my guess, I ordered the following tapas: wrinkled potatoes with spicy red mojo sauce, bread with tomatoes and garlic (the Italians call it bruscetta) and pimientos de padron (small green peppers with delicious sea salt). All three were delicious, varied and, for me, enough to keep me full. Since I suspect that the three dishes were vegan, I would say there are delicious options for vegans too. It would just be nice if these could also be marked in the menu so that you can be sure and don't have to ask :-) In addition to these tapas, Misto could also be vegan (stewed vegetables) - but it doesn't sound that exciting to me, so I didn't order it . Otherwise, the tapas of my companion also tasted very good (dates wrapped in bacon, chicken in whiskey sauce and prawns, although it has to be said that a few of the prawns did not reach the good standard of the others (that was the majority) in terms of taste , but I think that's a problem of overfishing and completely normal when you order prawns that not all prawns are at the top taste level). You can sit outside or inside and the service is attentive and quick. The wine prices are comparatively cheap. Tip for anyone unfamiliar with Spanish food: it's very garlicky, so order plenty to drink! We'd love to come back - El Cortijo is the best Spanish restaurant we know in Hanover and the surrounding area!

Super delicious food and great service. The only criticism is that it feels like you're sitting outside in a parking lot and some of the tables and chairs are crooked because the terrain slopes down. Otherwise everything was great! We'll definitely be back.

- our drink request was only accepted after we had eaten the bread with aioli - Drinks were brought quickly, just before the meal - it might be funny for others: The waitress at the neighboring table thought she was having a joke, she offered the guests our food (despite her knowledge that these guests had ordered tapas) with the statement: "It was just a joke, it's not their food, it's them Never order something like that. It goes to another table." And then put the food in front of us... - Grilled chicken breast with vegetables and potatoes + Grilled pork with vegetables and potatoes => the chicken was so oversalted that it could only be eaten with pork sauce, but the potatoes had no salt and were not crispy, as you would expect from patatas bravas elsewhere. The entire plate was very carelessly arranged, spread chicken with a spoonful of vegetables (carrot/mushroom/zucchini) and the potatoes for toothless people. The pork was OK, but it was swimming in a sea of ​​gravy. Arranging things beautifully is something else. I expected something different when I go out for Spanish food and don't order tapas. I could have had this in any restaurant. - After clearing away we were offered an “ice cream parlor” card. This is now the second time that I've gone home disappointed from this restaurant (the first visit was tapas evening, we didn't like it at all/portions weren't appropriate for the tapas price) small trivialities: - our table wobbled with every movement -Next to us in the window sill were all the charging stations for the table lamps, they couldn't be anywhere else than in the guest room - I totally missed the Spanish atmosphere.

The first visit - there will be a few to follow! I recommend this restaurant and can actually only report positively: despite other prophecies of doom here, the service was completely normal and absolutely good. Food: experienced Spanish guests certainly know which tapas taste like - I'll try them out (not "have to", I want to ☺️). I had the beef skewer: super tender, meat and vegetables full of flavor. Great. My son had chicken in almond sauce and loved it, I forgot to try... My daughter fish in a clay pot with mussels and vegetables - a taste explosion! Very very tasty! Attention: Gambas are only available on Mondays. I have to take photos of the food again and can't wait to go back.

A small company event took us with nine people to the Spanish restaurant El Cortijo in Hanover Altwarmbüchen. Not knowing what the weather would be like, we reserved our table in the cozy interior of the restaurant. Now the weather was open and warm and we quickly rescheduled without any complications and we were able to spend our evening on the cozy outdoor terrace. The cold Spanish beer was served to us immediately and then rounded off with recommendations from the kitchen with the most delicious dishes. Spanish classics, plenty of shrimp, fish and meat, everything was perfect. The service was prompt, the food was on point and the price-performance ratio was right. Finally, a Spanish schnapps on the house's account. All in all, a real recommendation and our special thanks go to the friendly staff and of course the owner family. Gladly again… P. S. Eat in Hannover~ This Spanish restaurant is located on the outskirts of Hannover. There are probably not many tourists coming here. The menu is only in Spanish and German. I ordered seafood risotto, grilled rolls, and fish soup. I always wanted to drink hot soup when I came to Europe. , this bowl of fish soup did not disappoint me, the soup is fresh and delicious! The seafood risotto, grilled rolls and pre-dinner bread are all very delicious. I will come again next time I come to Germany! !

A really wonderful evening yesterday with my wife. Start with mixed tapas, then a skewer of turkey for her and beef for me. Everything was very tasty, fresh and hot. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. We will repeat that.

Simply a MUST HAVE!!! We love it in winter, simply cozy and authentic... We love the terrace in summer... The food has been top for years, super delicious wines, a piece of Spain 🇪🇸, we go to Juan and Elena's at least 2-3 times a month, a wonderful break from everyday life. We recommend 3-4 tapas to share as a starter and then a wonderful fish or skewer as a main course.

Hello everyone, I was with you last night with my two children and my best friend to celebrate my 55th birthday a little. We had reserved a table for 4 people on the upper floor and received it. All of the dishes tasted very, very tasty and were absolutely fine in terms of price/performance ratio. The food was warm and the side dishes were plentiful. Our drinks and additional orders were brought to our table quickly. We really liked the ambience of the whole restaurant and felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, our service lacked a certain relaxedness and friendliness. The 4 of us found the good ladies quite unfriendly, both when we first ordered and when we re-ordered dessert. An example of several situations that have struck us as unpleasant: Here the lady thought she wanted to teach us what a closed menu meant for the service, which was simply not right. At the beginning we took this with a certain sense of humor and wanted to lighten the situation a little. Unfortunately, the service here was not up to the task and seemed rather instructive to us. Even though your house was very busy at the time and the ladies were definitely stressed, we found it inappropriate to react like that. We will certainly be happy to visit your restaurant again as we really liked and liked everything else. We just don't want to be served by this lady anymore. Recommended! I will definitely come back for dinner. We went to the restaurant for dinner. We were welcomed straight away and a table was immediately prepared because it was very busy. The food came to the table quickly and there was always someone at the table you could talk to. We were also occasionally asked if everything was OK. Everyone was very friendly and the food was very good and freshly prepared. I can highly recommend the skewers.

Very tasty tapas, friendly service

My dinner: Beef skewer (at least 200 grams) with vegetables for €26.80 - sounds good - tastes very good - but for 4 pieces of meat + 4 half potatoes + 2 pieces of pepper + 2 mushrooms + 4 pieces of zucchini + 2 pieces of onion + 2 slices of carrot - too expensive. There were also 2 large kola and a crema catalana for almost €7, all in all €43.30 Well, a good dinner if you don't want to eat a lot.

We were able to enjoy very good tapas and great main courses! Despite a full restaurant, the service was smooth, friendly and quick. We come more often now 😃

Finally found what I was looking for ☺️ We are absolute tapas lovers but we hadn't 100% found what we were looking for in Hanover until last week, but now! We were very pleased with the atmosphere and the friendly staff as soon as we arrived. The tapas were quickly at the table and delicious. We also had a pint of sangria which was also very good. Gastronomy where there is still friendly service and good food. Thank you very much for the lovely evening and we would love to come back.

Great restaurant. Tapas as a starter was very good. Nice ambience. For my main course I had a meat skewer with vegetables. The vegetables were cut a little too roughly. Unfortunately, dip was only a very small bowl. Overall but good restaurant. P.S. The waitress wears her glasses on her chin, which just seems strange and bothered several of us. 😜

The food you get is top! We were there with a fairly large group and had a few problems with the service, which originally prompted me to write a negative review. However, the operator reacted immediately and took care of the matter seriously and promptly. Really good! Maybe it would be good to communicate directly with the guests in the case of large groups and staff absences and prepare them for waiting times... I can't offer a better solution for the shortage of skilled workers - but talking often helps. P.S.: there are errors in the wine list between the menu and the printing/contents of the bottle...this should be checked and corrected if necessary 😉. Thank you for the good reaction 😊!

Was in the restaurant today on Monday around 6:30 p.m. and just managed to get 2 seats without a reservation. The store was completely booked, but everything was well organized, very friendly service, food and drinks came very quickly. I visit a lot of restaurants, but I haven't experienced such top service in a long time. 😃👍

Unrivaled good!!! We've been eating here often since 2009 and have never had a reason to complain. The food is without exception very good. Highly recommended, especially the tapas. This is also supplemented by daily recommendations. It's also worth taking a look at the wine list. There are some very good wines to be found here. The ambience is fantastically beautiful and bodega style. Whether you just want to have a few tapas with wine or beer or want to go out on a festive night. Everything is possible here. The service is excellent. Fast, friendly and competent. And that, even though it's quite stressful with the crowds. Reservation is actually a must. Instead, you dine in what we consider to be the best Spanish restaurants we know.

Very good Spanish food, I loved the atmosphere, all the staff very friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly. Parking right in front of the restaurant. I recommend making a reservation if you go on a Saturday night.

The ambience is nice and the service is attentive, but unfortunately I didn't really find the taste or quality of the food convincing. I don't know whether the main courses are better, but the tapas full offer is exclusively about the cheap tapas, most of which are ready-made dishes such as muslitos, sausages, canned champions. The patatas were homemade but unfortunately not crispy. Aioli was ok. Side salad or similar is not included in the offer and must be paid extra. You also notice that the food is not freshly prepared to order, all dishes were more lukewarm than hot. You will get full, but in my opinion €70 for two people is not justified for the quality, selection and taste of the food.

Liebes EL CORTIJO Team, anstatt mir vorzuwerfen, meine Bewertung nur aus Gründen der Geschäftsschädigung vorgenommen zu haben, wäre es mir lieber gewesen, wenn ihr einfach geantwortet hättet und gefragt hättet, wie es überhaupt dazu kam. Da nun Google diesen Job übernommen hat, will ich es euch gern erklären: Ich habe zwei Mal versucht, bei euch zu Abend zu essen. Beide Male musste ich wieder gehen, bevor ich auch nur Platz genommen hatte. Beim ersten Versuch, euch zu besuchen, wurde uns trotz reservierung eines "Tisches" nur ein Platz auf unbequemen Bar-Hockern angeboten, da es leider gerade keinen freien Tisch gab. Den zweiten Versuch unternahmen wir am Tag meines Geburtstags, für den ich telefonisch extra und explizit einen richtigen Sitzplatz an einem richtigen Tisch reserviert hatte. Nach mehr als 20 Minuten, die wir vor der Tür warten sollten, war auch zu diesem Zeitpunkt kein freier Tisch zu finden, an dem wir hätten essen können. Schlussendlich sind wir an diesem Abend wieder nicht eure Gäste gewesen, weil es im vollkommen überfüllten Restaurant nicht einmal mehr den reservierten Sitzplatz gab. Genau an diesem Abend habe ich diese Bewertung vergeben, zu der ich bis heute stehe und von der ich erwarte, dass ihr sie akzeptiert und daraus lernt. Vielleicht werden wir noch einmal einen Versuch unternehmen, bei euch zu Gast zu sein. Solltet ihr dann besser organisiert sein und auch noch leckeres Essen servieren, korrigieren ich diese Bewertung selbstverständlich in angemessener Weise.

22 Personen wurden hervorragend bewirtet. Exzellenter Service. Tolles selbstgebackenes Brot. Paella und Fischsuppe machten den spanischen Abend komplett.

Ce restaurant a manifestement beaucoup de succès puisqu’il est difficile d’y trouver une table (un samedi soir). Parfait pour une soirée entre amis, on y trouve un grand choix de tapas disponibles à la carte, notamment sous forme d’assortiment. Réservation obligatoire !

Sehr lecker gegessen und eine tolle Gastgeberin. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Es war gut, aber ich bin nicht restlos überzeugt. Das hat sowohl mit dem Essen zu tun (teilweise überwürzt, teilweise nicht oder zu wenig gewürzt) und auch mit der Tatsache, dass alle Tapas gleichzeitig kamen. Wenn man mit vier Menschen essen geht und sich alle alle Tapas teilen, ist es viel schöner, wenn diese nach und nach kommen. So war der Tisch voll und die ersten Tapas schon kalt, bevor man sie probiere konnte. Und die Preise sind grenzwertig mit >7 Euro pro Tapas.

Sehr cooles Restaurant, hier waren wir mit unserer spanisch Klasse Essen. Klar bestellt man hier in spanischer Sprache, deshalb haben wir das auch gemacht. Natürlich sprechen die aber auch deutsch.🤗

Na ja... Nach längerer Zeit waren wir zu 4. wieder mal im El Cortijo, die Begeisterung hält sich in Grenzen. Wenn 5 Minuten nach Bestellung das Essen serviert wird bedeutet dies, dass es nicht frisch auf Bestellung zubereitet wird - und so schmeckt es auch: ziemlich fade und lieblos, ohne das gewisse Etwas. Die Beilagen-Portionen zum gegrillten Fisch sind winzig.

Obwohl wir an einem Samstagabend keinen Tisch für zwei Personen reserviert haben, wurden wir freundlich empfangen und haben einen Platz bekommen. Die Tapas kamen schnell, heiß und super lecker an unseren Tisch. Gerne wieder.

Heute sind wir mit einer Spanischen Freundin hier eingekehrt, was soll ich sagen, wir sowieso, sie war auch begeistert :))) klare Empfehlung! Weiter so 👍
