The best address to enjoy sophisticated hospitality. Jena beers on tap, fine ginger liqueur and a few more delicacies on the drinks menu make spending time in sociable atmosphere quite pleasant. And of course culinary highlights are also provided. Wonderful, I love being here, inside and outside. Big thanks to the whole team!

Unfortunately, a lot has changed since my last visit. I remember the beautiful ambiance and the coziness differently. The restaurant seems to be expanding, which, in my opinion, isn't having a positive impact on the current business. It's noisy, a lot of foreign languages ​​are spoken, and there doesn't seem to be any German staff anymore. I find that a real shame, as more and more regional German cuisine in Jena is irrevocably disappearing.

The staff were completely overwhelmed with only four guests in the dining room for lunch. Even though the staff were celebrating their own birthday that day, it's not appropriate to leave guests sitting in the dining room as ordered and not picked up. So abysmal that we ended the "event" by paying for our drinks at the bar! and went for a walk, hungry.

We had a truly lovely evening; everything was perfect. Delicious food, very friendly service, and reasonable prices. And we're glad there's still a German restaurant here. Thanks to the entire team.

Hardly any choice and far too little for brunch, no fruit or vegetables, instead bowls full of balisto bars and jam from plastic bowls. Lunch with several spoiled dishes, only heated convenience food without spices, dirty restaurant. It's a shame to call something like that brunch!

Unfortunately, it's gotten more expensive, and the flavor has definitely diminished. To top it all off, my baked chicken today (Monday) was old because the ends were extremely dry! That's unacceptable! I'll also add: there are also fewer vegetables in the fried rice, and there's much less rice in it than before.

I waited almost 1:30 hours for my food and then the order was wrong. The food is tasty, but the service and delivery are really bad. It's the second time.

Leider war die Restaurant Leitung, obwohl Wochen vor der Feier angefragt, nicht Willens bestimmte Allergene in dem gewählten Menü zu benennen. Es kam der Hinweis, man sollte sich doch eigene Speisen mitbringen! Vor Ort, war das Serviceteam sehr wohl in der Lage in der Küche nachzufragen und entsprechend Entwarnung zu geben. Dafür ein Dankeschön. Das Menü war übrigens gut, aber wegen dem Eindruck im Vorfeld, leider nur eine niedrige Bewertung.

Delicious home cooking served at record speed. There are virtually no waiting times with the very attentive and friendly service staff. The food is excellent and the interior is as cozy and rustic as befits the tradition of the house. Clear recommendation! I had to deduct a star because the steak au four came instead of the schnitzel au four. There are worse things.

So reviews are basically subjective reports, but from an objective point of view everything here is just right. At first we really weren't an easy group, 12 people at the birthday table, actually 16 registered, ages 4-86, loud, chaotic - other service staff would have (rightly) given up right from the start. Our 3!!! The charming waitresses really have every “Huh?”, “but” and “Grandma, you want something different!!!” acknowledged with a genuine smile and then confidently processed the orders and collected them with absurd professionalism. Service for me is more like 10 stars - thank you very much for that. Food - just as great. Everything homemade (except for fries, I think, but I've never seen that before) old dishes world class - the homemade brawn deserves a special mention but a warm greeting to the kitchen: you're doing a great job! Hats off. Prices: So “cheap” is a thing. But anyone who says it's too expensive here has never ordered here. The dishes for “small hunger” are easily enough for 2 pensioners. The normal portions are hardly manageable. The same applies here: the service is top - just talk and you'll get a much better price here than in comparable restaurants. The concept is clear. Inn. Large portions, German cuisine, that's how it should be and stay. Beer: I think we had all kinds and only enthusiastic faces - beyond any doubt. What the builder delivers here is unparalleled in the world and we all really enjoy drinking beer all over the world. Local: rustic, attention to detail, historic, warm, spacious, beautiful. The beer garden to dream about, loved by children and not filled to the brim with tables to make money. On a Tuesday!!! The pub was packed - there are reasons for that and it's great that the concept hasn't been changed by simply squeezing in 3 more tables. A total of 12 young and old guests thanked us for the great experience and I, as the birthday child, especially thank you. Forget the weird reviews (“was full, didn’t get anything to eat”) and keep it up! ❤️ P.S. To the operators: a problem in the rating system could be that it is not clear whether it is a hotel or a restaurant - of course you are both, but many operators separate the establishments on Google to avoid mixing (and I also stayed at your place a while ago - just as nice) LG

The location and view from Wilhelmshöhe are very beautiful. You have a fantastic view of Jena, the Kernberge mountains, and the surrounding area. The service was good, but unfortunately, the food wasn't 100% convincing, as it wasn't quite warm enough for any of us. As a result, the flavor was lost. My personal conclusion is: It's worth a try, but that's enough.
