Despite the lack of staff, prompt service and appealing food. Reservation required in advance. Critical and alert spirits are at work here. Rebels of our time. Worth supporting.

We had our wedding at Wilhelmshöhe after it was recommended to us and we enjoyed really delicious dishes from the menu. Our ideas were not a problem when we first discussed it. After we agreed, the problems gradually arose: - a broken music system, so we had to bring our own speakers, etc., ok - I had to tell the owner everything at least twice because I forgot it the next time, even though she had written it down - Unfortunately, the owner invited a group of regulars for brunch a few weeks earlier. That's why we weren't allowed to decorate the day before, but only had half an hour before the event. Ok, minimal table decorations, we can manage it. The great thing was that the brunch guests were still sitting at the tables at the agreed time, so I had to flush them out in my wedding dress. It took some time before they got out. - Service was hardly existent, the whole focus was on the brunch guests. They were allowed to stay in a room where our photo box was supposed to be until 6 p.m. The photo box and the service only started with dinner, more self-service or going to the bar, guests had to fill their own glasses at the champagne reception, there was always something missing, either coffee or milk, and it wasn't refilled on their own. - Price increases with every agreement, e.g. Sparkling wine suddenly appeared on the bill, even though it was included in the package - All parking spaces were full, photographer had to stand across the cars - The owner reacted rudely to a friend who set up the music, to her sister-in-law, etc. - Toilets broken, smell - my eyes watered all evening until my eyes were red. I have a mite allergy, which seems to have really broken out here. All in all, too few staff, the owner seems overwhelmed and the location looks increasingly dilapidated. I would like to share what I am giving 2 stars for: - delicious dinner, coffee and good wine selection - the great view - the nice young woman who served really well and helped where she could

We had booked some places there for a birthday. When we arrived there was a closed company there, we don't know why. We were the only guests that day (Saturday). The terrace has a very nice view, but the design of the terrace leaves a lot to be desired. In the winter garden (entrance) there were strange decorations, arranged wildly, some with not so nice Halloween decorations in summer?!?! The restaurant itself only takes several steps to get up, unfortunately not for older people as there is no disabled access. On the left you go directly to the toilets, where exactly 1 of 3 were open in the women's toilet, why? Maybe to save on cleaning? So we always had to wait and towels weren't refilled. Men's toilet slightly smelly and no light. Nice large windows in the restaurant, unfortunately without blinds or curtains, so you had to eat with sunglasses in the evening because everything ended. Lunch a la kart - lunch over-spiced and no tasty Thuringian dumplings. Cake supposedly made in-house - cake thawed and warmed up for us. Dinner was served and simply said, no card when asked and answered by Pamipge. For example, we were told salad but what was on it wasn't exactly told. At the end I got a salad with fruit on top, not for everyone, the dressing was unidentifiable! It was very bitter and didn't taste good with any of the salads. Maybe we just didn't make any effort, I don't know. I don't recommend it, because for the price we paid in the end it wasn't even remotely worth it, neither the food nor the service! This restaurant needs a general overhaul, I heard that it was much better a few years ago, which is a shame because it wasn't continued properly then. Since it has such a wonderful view, something has to be changed to make it worth it! Especially for older people, make it more accessible!

Have been there once so far. You have to say that it is simply beautifully located. Beautiful sunny Teresa. The service so well. Waited forever and then you only get one ticket per table, no matter how many people there are, even though there wasn't much going on - there were two of us and there were eight at the neighboring table. We waited forever to order, but the cake was delicious. We definitely want to go there again to have something warm to eat because it is simply beautifully located. Let's see how it turns out...

Are you looking for classic and good German cuisine and a gigantic view. Then you have to come here...the best thing about the view is in the evening when the sun goes down.

Wilhelmshöhe is worth a visit after a hike... a stylish fireplace and delicious latte or cocoa combined with a wonderful view were the completion of a beautiful day in Jena

The restaurant was empty on Saturday evening, which surprised me because the location and view are incredibly beautiful. I also liked the open fireplace. The menu was very small, the prices were high compared to the quality and portion size on the plate. The fish was dry, the salad was mainly made from lamb's lettuce and was somehow unimaginative at €16, too expensive. What doesn't make me want to go there again is the inhibited, infrequent table accompaniment by the service - in this case the landlady herself... somehow unkind and not interested in the guest. And the toilet rooms are ice cold 🥶... just like the red wine shouldn't be like that...

The restaurant opened its doors especially for us (5) during the week (after reservation). The pumpkin soup was very tasty, the main course and dessert were rather ok, unfortunately my stomach didn't tolerate it all that well, but that wasn't the case with everyone else. The location and view are of course unbeatable!

Every time I do business in Jena, I enjoy the view from this restaurant. Compared to Munich, I am amazed at the low prices. Not everything is on the table in just a few minutes, but the food comes fresh from the kitchen. That's worth the wait for me. I can recommend the Crostinis as a starter. If there is pike perch, I take it and let the lady of the house surprise me with new, suitable wine recommendations.

Employees cheat guests. Risk of death! The vegetarian menu features fish and parmesan. When pointed out, the response was rude instead of admitting the mistake. Be careful here, who knows which allergens could be forgotten here! The prices are no longer appropriate for the food that has become worse.

Tolle Lage am Hang mit weitem Blick über Jena. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung freundlich. Erstaunlich, dass der Laden an einem Samstag-Abend nicht voller war. Wir waren mit 17 Leuten zum Klassentreffen fast die einzigen Gäste.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Sehr schöner Ausblick über ganz Jena auf der Sonnenterrasse. Und eine super nette Bedienung. :-)

Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Die Aussicht ist super, das Ambiente ist ok .Könnte bei Gelegenheit mal renoviert werden

Herzlichen Dank für einen wunderschönen Abend. Das Essen war sehr lecker, der Wein wunderbar, die Betreiberin hat sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert. Die Location ist eine Augenweide. Ich kann nur jeden ermutigen, den Berg zu erklimmen, sich kulinarisch verwöhnen zu lassen und den herrlichen Blick über Jena zu genießen.

Sehr schöne Gaststätte in Jena mit wirklich herrlichem Blick über die Stadt. Das Essen ist sehr gut, thüringer Küche mit kleiner Finesse.

Wir waren jetzt zum dritten Mal in kleiner Runde hier. Der Blick über Jena ist einfach genial! Wir wurden sehr freundlich und fix bedient . Der Wein ist super - das Essen passt perfekt dazu- alles sehr sehr lecker. Auch ein Extrawunsch wird erfüllt. Wir waren mit unserem Hund hier, der auch sehr aufmerksam und liebevoll versorgt wurde. Absolut empfehlenswert- vorher anrufen und alles wird gut!😀 Weiter so- bitte!

Immer wenn ich nach Jena komme, fragen mich Kollegen, ob wir mal wieder auf die Wilhelmshöhe zum Essen gehen. Ich freue mich jedes Mal und wurde in den letzten Jahren nie enttäuscht. Auch wenn auf der Anhöhe die Personaldecke "dünn" ist, klappt die Bedienung gut. Einfach die Aussicht genießen und mental runter kommen. Das kann man auf der Wilhemshöhe besonders gut. Es gibt immer wieder interessante neue Weine aus der Region. Da ist so manche Überraschung dabei. Übrigens: Besonders zu Firmenfeiern oder geschäftlichen Anlässen fahren wir auch gern hinauf.

Schön, dass die Wilhelmshöhe die Corona-Zeiten überstanden hat. Ein Essen mit diesem Ausblick ist es auf jeden Fall wert, die Straße hinauf zu fahren. Besonders angenehm: Die Eigentümerin findet immer einen Platz für uns, auch wenn sich viele Gäste angesagt haben. Ich empfehle aber trotzdem vorher anzurufen, damit besondere Essensvorlieben besprochen werden können. Unbedingt den Saibling probieren. EIN GEDICHT! Im Keller lagern exzellente, passende Weine dazu. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist perfekt.

Ein herrlicher Ausblick von der Terrasse aus über Jena! Das Essen war auch sehr lecker angerichtet!

Nach langer Zeit (wegen CoVid-19-Regelungen/Schließungen) endlich mal wieder hier gewesen und es war wie immer absolut super und mehr als lecker.🤤 Immer wieder gern.

Super küche, hatte selbst Hirschrückensteak, es war sehr gut. Freundliches personal. Tolle aussicht. Kann man nur empfehlen.

Bedienung und essen ist gut aber etwas zu kühl.

Leider geschlossen, nach anstrengender Wanderung gab es leider kein Imbiss, die Aussicht hat dafür entschädigt, toller Weitblick

Sehr lecker, zwar nicht sehr große, aber dafür erlesene Auswahl! Alles frisch und schön angerichtet. Hundefreundlich! Und eine tolle Aussicht! Sowie nette Bedienung! Preislich etwas gehobenes Niveau, aber lohnt sich!

Sensationeller Ausblick. Kleine, aber kreative Speisekarte. Guter Service, Sehr leckeres Essen. Portionen sind durchaus überschaubar zur sportlichen Preisen, daher weniger eine Wanderer-Wirtschaft.

Von hier oben hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf Jena. Die Gaststätte war leider geschlossen.

Kann man nur empfehlen, sehr nette Leute :)
