DAHEME in Jena

Instead of being greeted, I was rudely confronted about why I was moving a chair. I understand that as a guest, you might not be aware of being in someone's way, but a little friendliness is always appreciated, especially in the restaurant industry, where it should be a given. This kind of behavior is a surefire way to drive customers away. We left immediately.

I only had two drinks, so I can't say how the food was, but everything else was great and the staff were extremely friendly :)

Some of the male waiters there acted as if I owed them something or as if I had broken into their house and was disturbing them. Ever heard of "customer service"? Please leave your passive-aggressiveness at home or go see a therapist. The food was okay, but not excellent.

We loved our experience here. The waiter was fantastic. Once we told him we wanted to practice our German he spoke slow and explained things. He was just a delight. My husband got the mettwurtz - their version - I got the beet salad. Both of us were quite pleased with the our dishes. This will be a place to come back to for us.

Large outdoor area, small but cozy bar. Beers are cold and good, on tap. Restrooms are clean and located on the first floor. The first floor is cozy. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

The best address to enjoy sophisticated hospitality. Jena beers on tap, fine ginger liqueur and a few more delicacies on the drinks menu make spending time in sociable atmosphere quite pleasant. And of course culinary highlights are also provided. Wonderful, I love being here, inside and outside. Big thanks to the whole team!

Nice location with delicious food. The herring fillet was tender as butter and the fried potatoes were a success. The salad is crisp and fresh with a matching dressing. Nice service. Gladly again!

Particularly noteworthy is the focus on regional products, which you can taste in the quality of the food. Whether it's a snack, wrap dumplings or Spirelli pasta - everything is simply delicious! Conclusion: If you are in Jena, you should definitely stop by Daheme for a beer, a glass of wine or a delicious dinner! 🍽️🍷

We were there on Saturday evening with a larger group just for a few drinks, it was packed, but we were immediately greeted very friendly and a table was organized in a few minutes. I have rarely experienced such friendly staff. Just great, going out is fun ;)

As its name suggests, this restaurant serves regional specialities in home-cooked style, but with special provision for vegetarians. I tried the breaded pumpkin ‘steaks’ with mushroom sauce and boiled potatoes, while my colleague had a venison dish. Both were superb. Local wines were also excellent and service, though a bit on the relaxed side, was fine. On balance, an unexpected delight.

I ordered a schnitzel with fried potatoes. Unfortunately I can't agree with the good reviews about the food. At first glance everything looked good, but .... the fried potatoes were well fried, but dry and spices were also missing, the salad was drowned in the dressing and the schnitzel was very "clear" only had breading and fat and not tasted like meat. The staff was friendly, but I didn't feel "daheme". There's probably a bit of a lack of coziness there. Too bad

Landed there by chance at midday. Very attractive, simple restaurant. Exceptional menu with things that you can't find almost anywhere else. Very friendly and quick service. Very happy again!

We came with a group of 7 people, my drink order was apparently misunderstood by one of the waitresses. When the older blonde colleague came and wanted to give me my drink (a juice) and I said that I had ordered a spritzer, she immediately became totally annoyed, unfriendly and blamed me for placing the wrong order. Annoyed, she went back, got the right drink and slammed it on the table. This way you don't tie guests to you. We were all shocked and won't be coming back.

Like grandma daheme! We came here spontaneously. The ambience may not be for everyone. I found it fitting. Rustic retro. The food was great and we enjoyed it. Beer was ok too. Service was friendly and as you would expect. We'd love to come back if we end up in Jena again.

I can only rate the service because the food didn't even come. The staff was very unfriendly, there wasn't even a hello before families were treated unfriendly. And another note: strollers seemed unwelcome in this restaurant.

In short: a 110 percent recommendation. Everything was perfect here tonight. The food, simply great. Food from the region, tastes simply fantastic! The service, fast and very empathetic. The ambience invites you to linger and feel good. A tip: it's best to make a reservation.

Superleckere Essen-Getränke und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit für mich als Rollifahrer. Wer in Jena ist, muss dort unbedingt hin. Man dort überhaupt nicht enttäuscht.

Nice atmosphere, not overly “hip” but not “old-fashioned” either. The service staff were very friendly, attentive and quick. The food and drinks were very good, and the price/performance ratio was definitely right.

Nette Bedienung, gutes Bier, aber eins der schlechtesten Essen das ich je hatte. Verbrannte Bratkartoffeln, garantiert nicht frisch.

I ordered the beer meat. Unfortunately it was cooked too long and therefore way too dry. Went without any problems at the expense of the house. It was good with a friend. Otherwise great ambience with a view of the Jentower.

We were asked 5 times by different employees whether we were finished eating. We weren't. But at some point we would have to say yes because we were constantly disturbed.

The food was once again very tasty (everything from solyanka to vegetarian delicacies to boiled beef and without an overloaded menu) and the service was incredibly polite and quick. The ambience would also be great if it wasn't so incredibly loud... The upstairs dining room in particular is unbearable, so we fled very quickly. You don't understand your own words. REASON: Some sound breakers are sometimes missing between the tables. And that's why it quickly becomes uncomfortable, even though I otherwise think the place is great. :-( Please change that so that I can happily sit longer with my friends... I would give it 5/5 stars, but not yet because I have to shout across the table to my friends to let them know.

Even if you don't always get a seat, the "Daheme" is a good place to go to satisfy your hunger in a civilized manner or to have a leisurely drink 😉 We got a place on Saturday evening at short notice without a reservation, had a delicious meal, boiled beef with horseradish, which cleared our noses, and drank fine Jenaer Schellenbier (dark malty strong beer) with it, rounded off with a "Daheme" ginger liqueur. The service staff are very relaxed, friendly and on top of their game and we had a pleasant time in the restaurant. We will definitely come back and can thoroughly recommend it 👍🏻

Dry, not tasty cakes. The ginger tea was not brewed properly and there was no honey in it, even though honey was listed on the menu. My dissatisfaction lies with the tea master and confectioner. The cafe itself is good, cozy, friendly staff.

DAHEME is our favorite little pub when we visit Jena. This time we were here too and only managed to get a place, it's very popular. Casual, very pleasant atmosphere, first-class staff and always great with you. We will come back, greetings from Lower Saxony.

Urige Jenaer Kneipe, authentisch. Essen bestens.

Mein Freund und ich gehen hier seit Jahren gerne auf ein Bier und ein paar Cocktails hin. Es lässt sich sehr gemütlich sitzen und den Abend ausklingen. Vor ein paar Wochen haben wir dann zum ersten Mal auch etwas von der Speisekarte bestellt und es war unglaublich lecker. Die Bedingungen ist immer sehr freundlich. Die Toiletten sind sauber und gepflegt. Klare Empfehlungen.

Es fehlt die Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit bei der Bedienung. Die Karte bietet gute, Thüringer Hausmannskost zu einem fairen Preis. Das Lokal ist günstig gelegen und bietet insbesondere im Sommer für draußen ein perfekter Start in einen chilligen Abend. Leider wird die Bewertung immer wieder durch das schlechte Personal nach unten gedrückt.

Super Lokal, gleich freundlich begrüßt worden und nach Platz gesucht. Daheme war gut besucht aber man hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt, Name ist hier Programm. Service war super alle sehr freundlich zusammen. Essen sehr gut und mal was anders wie Schnitzel oder Rouladen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Leider erst am letzten Abend von Urlaub besucht. Preise sind auch top.

Daheme- der Name ist Programm und die Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft, verbunden mit den leckeren Getränken, hat uns hier länger bleiben lassen als geplant!

Trotz vollem Restaurant war das Personal sehr bemüht Gästen einen Platz anzubieten (notfalls auch im Freien mit Decken), dabei gab es keine Abstriche bei der Freundlichkeit. Der Ingwerlikör und die Kürbissuppe sind sehr lecker und die Preise sowie die Wartezeit auf das Essen waren auch okay.

Eine sehr gemütliches kleines Gasthaus. Die Einrichtung ist sehr urig, die Deko wie bei Oma im Wohnzimmer. Sammeltassen,und Kaffeetassen im Fenster. Das Essen war sehr lecker und appetlich angerichtet. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich.Das Gasthaus hat 2 Etagen, man kann aber auch draußen sitzen. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Bodenständiges Essen in einem Lokal, das offenbar von allen geschätzt wird. Das Restaurant bietet gute deutsche Küche und dazu passendes Bier an. Leider war der Schweinebraten schon aus. Er wird täglich frisch gemacht und es gibt ihn nur solange Vorrat reicht. Finde ich schon mal gut. Das alternative panierte Schweineschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln war eine große Portion. Aber es war lecker zubereitet, die Bratkartoffeln gut gebraten und richtig gebräunt. Man konnte noch draußen sitzen an einem der größeren Tische und der Service war freundlich. Das Lokal wird offenbar von Studierenden ebenso wie von Touris und von sonstigen Einheimischen genutzt und liegt mitten im Kneipenviertel um die Wagnergasse.

Im Daheme ist es wie Daheme. Gutes Essen, freundliches und nette Bedienung. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen. Reservierung empfohlen.

"DAHEME" ist ein schönes Restaurant mit gutem Essen, welche aus regionalen regionalen Produkten hergestellt werden. Macht weiter so, es war sehr lecker

Hier kann man mal für ein Getränk anhalten. Abends ist deutlich mehr los und gut gefüllt. Es scheint also zu gefallen. Uns nicht so sehr, aber das ist auch in Ordnung. Beim nächsten Mal probieren wir es abends und dann gibt es bestimmt noch ein paar Sterne mehr.

We tried two different dishes from Thuringen that were very good, with meet & vegetarian. They have a good menu. The drinks also were nice. The place is also in a central location.
