Nice location with delicious food. The herring fillet was tender as butter and the fried potatoes were a success. The salad is crisp and fresh with a matching dressing. Nice service. Gladly again!

Over Easter we were in Jena with the family from Hanover and visited the Haus im Sack. The decor is beautiful, rustic and full of history. My asparagus with salmon fillet was delicious and my grandpa liked it too. I would particularly like to highlight our waiter. A really cool guy with a lot of empathy and a great feel for his guests. We'll definitely be back! Kind regards from Hanover :)

Cozy host with few staff, open garden and restaurant. The restaurant is ancient (over 90 years old), even Goethe was (not) here!!! 🤗😛. The food is good and the drinks are also reasonably priced.

Very nice, cute and romantic inn. Nice and above all fast service. Food excellent and plentiful. All in all an inn to recommend.

I can only hope that no one falls for the Sunday brunch like we did. Absolutely not recommended.

Here you can enjoy your lunch in a relaxed atmosphere, which I personally really appreciate. No nonsensical trappings that others always call "service" - just order and you're done. The long queues at lunchtime prove me right. You can still get your food super quickly and it's always delicious. I particularly like the peanut sauce and the portions are just right to fill you up. What more could you want? PS: Please leave the vegetables as they are, I love them when they are crunchy. Doesn't change anything :)

I waited almost 1:30 hours for my food and then the order was wrong. The food is tasty, but the service and delivery are really bad. It's the second time.

We booked a table for eight people three weeks in advance. When we got there, they unfortunately only gave us a table for five, with three additional chairs crammed in. It was incredibly cramped and uncomfortable, even though there were plenty of tables available. The reason given was that they didn't want to open a second area. When we then asked if we could sit outside, they unfortunately declined, saying that they didn't want to open the outdoor area yet either (even though the tables were already outside). Of course, it was also a weekend, so there was hardly anywhere else to go on short notice. Luckily, after a quick call, L'Osteria was understanding of our situation with the Kartoffelhaus and quickly freed up an additional table for us, even though they were also quite full. At least the Kartoffelhaus was okay with it when we said we didn't want to eat crammed into such a small table and would rather leave. (Hence two stars) I can't say whether the food tastes good, so it's fair not to deduct any points.

Auf der Durchreise gesehen und angehalten - am Ostermontag um 12:00 Uhr hatten wir Glück. Es war noch ein Tisch im Eingangsbereich mit Blick in die Küche frei. Die Bedienung im Untergeschoss war die unfreundlichste Bedienung, die mir je untergekommen ist. Ihr Ton war nicht angebracht sie hat die Augen verdreht bei Rückfragen und war eigentlich völlig ungeeignet, um Gäste zu bedienen. Warum diese Frau dort arbeitet und noch nicht entlassen worden ist, kann ich nicht beurteilen, aber eigentlich gehört sie nicht in den Servicebereich. Der Kellner im oberen Stockwerk war sehr freundlich, als wir uns an ihn gewendet haben, da die Dame, die uns eigentlich bedient hat, nicht in der Lage war vernünftige Auskünfte zu geben. Das Essen war Durchschnitt. Ich würde es nicht als gut bezeichnen, sondern Massenware auf dem Niveau einer durchschnittlichen Kantine. Selbst die Thüringer Knödel schmecken zu Hause besser, wenn man sie mit einem fertigen Teig von Henglein zubereitet. Ich kann dieses Lokal nicht weiterempfehlen !

Everything went very smoothly for our event, from the initial arrangements to the end of our meeting. The staff was very hard-working and attentive. The food and drinks were very good and reasonably priced.

I absolutely cannot understand the negative reviews. You almost get the feeling that the reviewers simply don't understand what Neapolitan pizza is! Very very good Italian food, good wine and great service!

We had lunch with 4 people today for Easter Sunday and I'm surprised at the negative review! We had such a great meal and the service was very nice and we felt completely at home! We'll definitely be back! It's a shame that I can't post any pictures of the delicious food here, it was mega!! Thanks !!
