Terrible experience – never again! ⭐☆☆☆☆
Today we were at Vapiano in the center of Dresden for the first time. As soon as we entered we didn't really feel welcome. Since it was our first visit, we didn't know exactly how the ordering system worked. The person at the entrance explained it to us, but not in a particularly friendly manner.
After choosing a dish, we got in line. There were only two people in front of us, so we figured it would be our turn. But when our moment came, we were simply ignored! Instead of serving us, the employees preferred to take orders from guests who arrived later - who happened to be elegantly dressed in suits.
When we inquired, we continued to be treated with disrespect. This condescending and disrespectful manner made us leave the restaurant immediately. An absolutely disappointing experience! We're definitely not coming back. 1 star is still too much!
Nice location, but both coffee and cappuccino were not recommended. The tiramisu was not tasty at all, just fatty and not tasteful. The apple strudel was okay, but nothing special. However, the service was very friendly
Well the food was okay. But there was no waiting time at all. We waited over half an hour for 3 burgers. And then the fries weren't even fully cooked yet. It's a shame we expected a little more.
Per:
- beautifully located
- nice welcome
- We were offered a table outside, with a great view etc. We went in for the main course
- the food was fantastic. We both had a starter and main course, my husband also had dessert - absolutely fine for the higher price segment
Cons:
- it was unusually empty for a Friday and there wasn't a really nice atmosphere
- the service was hardly there
- no “does it taste good?” or “is everything OK?”
- long waiting times, even though there was nothing going on
- you can't shake the feeling that Johann's wants to look 'fancy' but can't
--> the long waiting times weren't really a problem, but the lack of, very uncommunicative, not unfriendly but barely existent service left a bad aftertaste at €130 for two people
Ambience:
The Museum Kitchen impresses with its stylish and cozy atmosphere. The interior is modern yet warm, with beautiful wooden elements and pleasant lighting. The combination of classic and modern design is particularly successful, which fits well with the proximity to the museum.
Service:
The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were served quickly, and our questions about the menu were answered competently. The waiters were attentive without being intrusive, which made the visit very pleasant.
Food:
The menu offers a fine selection of seasonal and regional dishes. The ingredients were fresh, and the dishes were lovingly presented. The homemade risotto is particularly recommended; it was wonderfully creamy. The vegetarian options were also creative and delicious.
Value for Money:
The prices are mid- to high-end, but justified given the quality of the food and the beautiful ambiance. Main courses range from €15 to €25.
Conclusion:
The Museum Kitchen is a great place for anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a stylish setting. Perfect for a relaxing evening or a fine lunch after a museum visit. I'd love to come back!
