Terrible experience – never again! ⭐☆☆☆☆ Today we were at Vapiano in the center of Dresden for the first time. As soon as we entered we didn't really feel welcome. Since it was our first visit, we didn't know exactly how the ordering system worked. The person at the entrance explained it to us, but not in a particularly friendly manner. After choosing a dish, we got in line. There were only two people in front of us, so we figured it would be our turn. But when our moment came, we were simply ignored! Instead of serving us, the employees preferred to take orders from guests who arrived later - who happened to be elegantly dressed in suits. When we inquired, we continued to be treated with disrespect. This condescending and disrespectful manner made us leave the restaurant immediately. An absolutely disappointing experience! We're definitely not coming back. 1 star is still too much!

The lady chef Mina is very friendly and professional. Germans usually appreciate their pasta just beyond the "Al dente" Point and that's too bad. Of course, with a majority of Germans the pasta is cooked to that point. If you want al dente, easier to order "dunkel fusilli". The coffees (Trieste's Illy) are nice.

Addendum from March 2025: Unfortunately, the quality is declining relative to the price. Due to poor service, the prices are too high. The taste is okay. New menu with increased prices and smaller portions. The quality of the antipasti has also suffered due to the presence of canned mushrooms. What a shame...

Totally disgusting toilets. So I can only speak for the women's toilet. Only one out of three toilet stalls can be closed. The toilets are dirty, as if you've only cleaned your glasses and nothing else for a year. I don't use the hand air thing, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either.

Fast and delicious food! If you are looking for a large selection of food, this is the right place for you. Everything is prepared fresh in front of you and tastes great. An uncomplicated concept with great quality – we’ll be happy to come back!

We used to be here more often, but unfortunately it has really worn off. My all-time favorite Reef 'n Beef is nothing special anymore, where did the delicious sauce go? Unfortunately, the toilets were not clean either, even though the store had hardly any guests.

The basil pasta was yummy. The waiter at dessert/coffee bar was friendly. So was the cashier at the entrance, she professionally asked us how was everything for the meal. I appreciate that professionalism. The female chef at the salad bar was not welcoming and ignored our order request but luckily the other chef at the pasta bar helped us. Without that chef at the salad bar, I’d rate service 5.

Very manageable performance... The pizza wasn't really hot, bruschetta was forgotten to be prepared. The floor wasn't clean😷, the furniture has seen better days.... All in all, maybe it was due to the reluctance to work on Sunday or the lack of skilled workers that is propagated everywhere?

First of all: the food itself is completely fine, even if it is relatively expensive. However, you would rather not go into detail about the hygienic conditions, let alone the professionalism. For example, the tables are not cleared for a long time even if the restaurant is empty and the self-service machines are out of order.

The food was very tasty, the service was great! I think the prices are too high! A large Radler for 5.60 euros and 0.33l Fanta for 4 euros! Considering you have to get the food and drinks yourself!

Food was good, but not outstanding. Facility really nice. Service was very different, a very nice colleague at the coffee bar, a super unfriendly colleague without a name tag at the pasta/pizza station. A nice slow pasta cook. Overall, it is noticeable that despite there being little activity at lunchtime, there are longer waiting times. Is that because three managers and only two chefs is an unhappy relationship? The toilets were really dirty, especially the disabled toilet that hadn't seen a cleaning service for a long time. Overall, not a recommendation.

Nice Italian restaurant with a great ambience. The color concept is very suitable and you feel very comfortable, especially at the tables with the small lamps. Very comfortable! The gentleman at the entrance was super friendly and explained everything to us. There were no problems with the service and he takes care of his guests despite self-service. The food was prepared live and was therefore ready quickly. The pizzas with a great dough are particularly recommended...

The service is subpar, you only listen with one ear and you don't get any reaction as to whether you understand what is being said. In other words, from above... Eating that well, all 4 pasta dishes were drowned in oil! The spaghetti was greasier than the chain on my moped. But that's a matter of taste. I was there the first and last time.

Since my last visit here was rather so-so, I've been pleasantly surprised. Martin, who welcomed us very nicely at the entrance, gave us a thoroughly successful evening! The food was delicious but the service was first class. Thanks !

Good option in Dresden for a quick meal

Made the mistake of coming here for a quick fresh pasta meal recently. I had the Pasta carbonara with Salmon. I have never had such badly prepared stale salmon. The dish was very oily without a hint of carbonara flavour and the salmon cubes rubbery and dry. For the price we paid I expected alot more. It is definitely not worth the time or the money.

Spontaneous visit... We ordered a pinsa and were disappointed as the dough was very hard. You could hardly cut it. There was also something missing in terms of taste. Maybe we'll try it again another time.

Nice location, but the food needed to be completely seasoned and the pasta was cooked way too hard. The garlic was unbearable. The only good thing was the drink (Vapiano Iced Tea Pomegranate) and pepper and salt at the table.

Arrived in Dresden in the evening and was hungry, so I thought about it. A mistake... The welcome from the lady at the checkout was very friendly, the system was explained, the food card was handed out, so far so good. And with that the glory came to an end. I stood in the pasta line, it was supposed to be spaghetti carbonara. You can't really do much wrong. The recipe and the ingredients are simple... grated spaghetti, egg yolk, bacon, parmesan or pecorino, in Germany then cream and plenty of fresh black pepper. Then came the appearance of the Vapiano chef. Actually I should have paid attention when he asked me with cheese or garlic????? What was served next defies description. Some completely overcooked spaghetti in a whitish, watery sauce made from onions mixed with water, condensed milk and something indefinably sweet. Then something was grated on top, which in this kitchen is probably thought to be Parmesan. After walking through half the restaurant to get a beer to go with the meal, we had a poorly tapped Krombacher without foam that was adapted to the spaghetti. You'll immediately work up an appetite... Tried the spaghetti at the table, completely inedible. The dish didn't even have anything in common with a carbonara. The beer was at stomach-friendly temperatures. I think if you want to drink something cold there you have to order a coffee. I can certainly understand why the Vapiano chain went bankrupt given such quality. The chef is advised that if you have no idea what you are doing, you should leave it alone or know someone who can explain it to you. He is welcome to write to me and I will be happy to let him in on the secrets of the tasty cuisine. If you justify this with individuality, you can't call it carbonara. This is a classic dish with a classic preparation. Otherwise you could bread a Wiener Schnitzel with licorice snails and say that's just how our chef does it. What was delivered here is banned from Italy for life. Oh, by the way, everything was fully charged even though the plate went back after a fork. So much for “customer friendliness and service” So if you're hungry in Dresden and you pass Vapiano, keep walking. Fast and far...

Food was made quickly. You could also choose the noodles. Super pleasant portions for dinner and served in bowls. Recommended!

Having been here for the first time, I'm not convinced by the whole thing. Looks and everything is beautifully designed. It's also nice to see the chefs preparing the food where everything was already prepared. That's why it's only 1star because even if you add salt yourself, the meals still taste good. I don't recommend anyone to go here. But try it yourself

Very tasty food and a good atmosphere

Too much of a quick resturant feeling for me now. Sometimes you look for a long time for free places. Increasingly, there are also many families with (many) children. This is of course not a problem, but if you like a quiet evening for two, you should take this into account.

Unfortunately not our taste. Pasta very oily, chef at the serving point unfriendly, all 4 meals very expensive, pasta sometimes hard, 0.3 beer 4.50 euros. Very expensive for a self-service snack bar. Sorry...

Vapiano, never seen it before but pizza and pasta are always possible, so go in there. At reception you get a chip card with which you can then move freely through the self-service service. You choose something from the menu, there is a lunch deal until 3 p.m., where you get a meal including a non-alcoholic drink for €12.50. Order at the counter and then go to the bar if you want to drink something alcoholic. The service could still improve significantly, the offering is very good. The food alarm beeps and then you can pick it up freshly prepared. We were really excited! Decent portion, very tasty and when you think about the price, just great. I am thrilled and will definitely visit vapiano again.

Unfortunately our pasta was completely covered in oil. After testing twice, the noodles were extremely full of oil both times. They are practically swimming in oil and for an overpriced price that is just as expensive as in other restaurants where you get table service. Absolutely no recommendation!

A specific restaurant. For those who do not know the language, it is difficult to figure out how to order a dish. But this is only the first time. It's interesting to see how the dish is prepared. Doesn't take much time. Everything is very tasty. Nice atmosphere. I would like to recommend putting toothpicks on the tables. A necessary attribute for a restaurant, in my opinion. And wiping the tables with degreaser makes it unpleasantly sticky.

For me, once a Vapiano per visit to Dresden

We absolutely loved this restaurant, but through the years it's slowing down, becoming less attractive. After our last visit, the portions are getting smaller, the staff is not happy, and the overall energy of the place is down. The food is still the same old good Vapiano, but the overall impression is that this place needs some reset.

Thanks to the poor service (the woman at the bar and checkout) who is extremely unfriendly, I definitely won't visit Vapiano again.

Good - but why none of the Dresden beers?

The food itself was OK. but it took forever. We stood in line for about 20 minutes then waited another 15 minutes for a pizza. For a salad, a children's pizza and a simple salami pizza, I paid €44. Sorry but we won't come back.

You have to get food and drink from two different corners... and get everything yourself. The food tastes like ready-made food from a can/frosted or Maggi Fix... and for the fact that you make everything yourself, you ask for a tip straight away.... 😡 And the restaurant is NOT barrier-free... impossible these days...

We visited Vapiano 3 times as a family in 3 days of Dresden sightseeing. We found it pleasant, not much going on, relaxed staff. Eating out as a family every time for less than €30 is also worth mentioning; now even a burger costs €15. Here the child gets something to drink and a meal for €6. Clean toilets and card payments that are accepted round off the overall experience 😅 Fits. Thank you Vapiano.

Our visit was only marred by the meal… The principle is great... Great reception and greeting right at the door. you can watch how your food is prepared. Simply great.. However, the food was tasteless, the noodles were too al dente (everyone as they like it), the cook was unconcentrated... of course leave over 3/4 of the food. The waitress responded immediately, and the manager responded and tried to look for a solution… That's why we'll give it another chance next time we visit Dresden...

Terrible service, unprepared staff, don't speak English, don't serve, don't know how to explain how the restaurant works, rude, bad-tempered servers. We had to get up and leave without dinner. I definitely don't recommend it! Horrible !

I am an absolute fan of Italian cuisine. When I travel and don't know what to choose, I always look for Vapiano. The food is amazing and you can actually choose what type of pasta and sauce you want. There is enough choice and the price-performance ratio is the best.

We had dinner last night and I had to go to the toilet and what can I say, it was a mess. Everything was wet. It didn't work for big business at all. Then they were told that no one could take care of it because of a lack of staff. That doesn't work at all.

Service was unfriendly and communication was also difficult. Burnt chicken and dishes way too expensive. Noodles had to be paid extra. Very rude.

If you could give 0 stars for the service, I would. I don't know if it's because this is Saxony, but the staff is as unfriendly as anything else. I've never experienced anything like this. The food wasn't particularly great either, but in my opinion it was overpriced. I can't remember ever having a worse experience at a restaurant.

I won't go to Vapiano again. The noodles were hard and had a bad aftertaste. The Bolognese didn't taste like anything 🤷 it's just a mass production somewhere. Otherwise, the staff was quite nice and the ambience of Vapiano is unchanged.

This Vapiano is still old-style, which means you can order directly at the kitchen counter and watch the staff prepare the food. We have been coming here for many years when visiting DD. The staff is always friendly and tries to make the guests' stay pleasant. Unfortunately, as with all Vapianos, the price-performance ratio has declined significantly over the years. This also means that it is no problem finding a place here even on a Saturday evening. The biggest drawback is the hygiene in the toilet. There is simply too little cleaning here and unfortunately there are many guests who simply cannot behave.

A different dining experience. I was welcomed and handed a card for the process of choosing my food and paying As I decided on pasta I was then given a choice of types of pasta then complementary ingredients and toppings. After observing my meal being prepared my card was processed and I went on to choose a drink, processing my card again. I then selected a table and was able to enjoy my meal. Staff came to clear my plate and were happy to collect further drinks, as necessary. Payment was made on exit using the card as my bill. VAPIANO is situated on the plaza of Petersburger Straße, creating a relaxed atmosphere close by numerous hotels and less than a thirty minute walk from the River Elbe.

Very unpleasant staff and bad food.

It was a terrible experience! Yesterday, July 24, 2024, we specially stopped by this restaurant chain to eat. I ordered a salad with shrimp and beef. The beef was very overcooked. The cherry tomato alone was rotten. But the worst thing is the manager at the entrance. He's a thief. We had an account of more than 46 euros. We gave 50 euros in cash. But he forgot to give us 5 euros of change. I didn't give me a check. I insisted on giving a check and he returned 5 euros. The mood was completely spoiled. My son took pasta with beef and shrimps, he wasn't overcooked and he liked it.

I have to honestly admit. Actually, there are hardly any negative reviews from me. But this is really really sad! I now pay €16 for a Caesar salad in Vapiano (you have to pay extra for chicken, even though that's actually part of it). This salad consists of a few lettuce leaves, 4 pieces of chicken, a few croutons and a sauce. Ok, more parmesan. But not even a tomato or various other suitable vegetables or similar. I find it almost outrageous. In my opinion, incredibly overpriced and therefore in my opinion the price is really NOT justified!

The restaurant has been around for a long time, as has the furnishings, and there are slight signs of wear on the tables and seats. The staff tries hard, but some of them don't speak any or very little German. This resulted in 2 people ordering a pizza each, but only getting 1 pizza together, so waiting again for the 2nd pizza... For the drinks, the beer was poured just below the calibration mark. The homemade raspberry lemonade consisted of half a glass of ice cubes, raspberry syrup, mineral water and frozen blackberries, unfortunately there were no raspberries. The blackberries had freezer burn. Conclusion, it was ok, nothing more and quite expensive, so it's better to go to the real Italian restaurant.

I think the most attractive thing is that you can see the cooking process right in front of your eyes. I had Chicken Maci Picante and it suited my taste well and was delicious. Pasta that comes out like fast food is great!!

Food was okay up until that point While I was ordering something again, my Zippo and my cigarettes went and, amazingly, half a bottle of cola was stolen! Great place!! The staff said they didn't know anything, which came across as completely unbelievable! The manager dismissed it as a triviality! But I can't prove it and unfortunately the police called in couldn't do anything! It's a shame, a really bad impression of the place and such an arrogant manager! Recommendation 0%

The service is terrible, the staff laughs in your face if a foreigner misunderstands how to place an order. Especially when I was already sitting at the table and eating on the veranda, I saw how the staff talked to each other and looked at me and just started laughing in my face, naturally I no longer felt comfortable and I wanted to leave as quickly as possible. I recommend going to another normal one an establishment that treats guests well)

We enjoyed the food. That is positive. Otherwise, the guest is used to take on the task of a waiter, namely ordering the food themselves, waiting for it and bringing it to the table along with cutlery. The same applies to drinks. This task is made palatable by the fact that after ordering the food, the guest can watch it being prepared live in front of his eyes in the kitchen - when it is his turn, because other guests have exactly the same plans. And so it often takes 15 or even 20 minutes until you can take the expected food with you. And if you don't just order for yourself, but maybe have to take another meal with you for your companion who doesn't walk well and therefore waits at the table, that doesn't make it any better. By the way, you get a beeper and can sit back at the table while you wait. But if you're sitting on the other side of the restaurant 20 meters away and you're waiting for another meal and would like to start eating together and at the same time, then it's all too much hassle - especially because you're a guest really pays quite a bit for the restaurant to save on service.
